Lehar - Sargas
CNS068
Connaisseur
12inch23.09.201423.SEP.14

HouseTech

After Few Nolder, Italian fellow Lehar aka Lorenzo Esposito is the second new signing for Connaisseur this year. Apart from his residency at the CIRQ club in Venice and regular bookings at some of the best clubs and parties in Italy and Malta, Lehar truly is a very talented producer as well. Some of you might have heard the free download for Lehar's remix of Kollektiv Turmstrasse's classic "Tristesse' which has caused some attention on him the past weeks and was therefore the perfect precursor for this release. His demo impressed us very much and both titles really hit our taste. And as though this wasn't enough, together with his demo he delivered a remix by his friend and probably hottest producer of the moment: Mario Basanov, head of the label Boso and mostly know under his moniker Ten Walls. XY is the frst track on Lehar's release. With it's continuously rising atmosphere, its demanding groove and catchy chords, this tune is an absolute guarantor for proper dancefloor mayhem. Sargas on the other hand, is slightly more subtle and dominated by a spooky and mysterious atmosphere. A totally deep and alluring affair peaking in a string-driven break. On the flip-side you will fnd Mario Basanov's remix of Sargas and Lehar can really be thankful to his friend for delivering such an amazing interpretation. Earlier this year, this version already accidentally endedup in a podcast and since then there has been amassive buzz around this track. Mario formed a massive bomb nobody can resist out of the deep Sargas. Normally, we are more reluctant with this kind of statement, but this tune gives us the selfconfndence to say: hit alert!

Lonely Boy - I Like Disco
108656 / FBR030
FUTURE BOOGIE RECORDINGS
12inch23.09.201623.SEP.16

HouseTechNu Disco

Futureboogie open their 2015 account with this killer slab of sophisticated twisted disco from Lonely Boy, AKA Joshua Heath. The Californian producer has a track record for finely crafted house music on labels like Miguel Migs' Salted Music and the Inland Knights' Drop Music. His Lonely Boy moniker has yielded music for Culprit and Winding Road, and this FBR release comes backed with an epic remix from The Emperor Machine.
An ode to a love affair with the original vintage disco sounds, with its sophisticated bass and clean drums echoing shades of classic Prelude tunes of yesteryear, 'I Like Disco' is a spot on nod to the authentic sound that seemingly will never be out of fashion. Its simple male rephrase reminds us just what we're dealing with here, as the soft keys play call and response with that funky bass riff, and thick, rising pads create the drama.
The Emperor Machine rocks up on the remix, fresh from a period of intense activity, including albums for Southern Fired and the now defunct D.C. Recordings. The former Bizarre Inc. and Chicken Lips has also been busy remixing the likes of Booka Shade, Erol Alkan and Daft Punk, so a real scoop to get him on Futureboogie. Weighing in at over 10 minutes, the good Emperor builds a dubtastic version, stretching out the good groove and bringing it back to the basics. A playful remix with brain scrambling metallic flanging, stuttering bass, electro-funk synths and heaps of dubby delays, a monster of a remix!
'The Subtle Frenzy' continues the quality vibes with an arpeggio synth that works it way around your brain and moody pads and wonky keys that build the atmosphere a treat. A monster electrofunk workout with a heavyweight growling bassline that continually pushes the track into a 'subtle frenzy'.
Digital bonus track, 'Take Your Time' slows down the pace with an orgy of synthesizers and chugging beats, a perfect wind down/sunset/sunrise (circle where appropriate) moment! A class cut that shows the versatility of Lonely Boy's productions...

Maxime & Remain - Lost It Ep
MEANT023
MEANT RECORDS
12inch29.04.201529.APR.15

HouseDeepTech

The excellent Meant label now offers up two new original cuts from Maxime & Remain complete with a stellar remix package from
Kasper Bjorke, Remain, Johnson and Jackethat & Lipelis.
Meant label boss Remain pairs up once again with Brooklyn based Maxime for this latest release. The duo have previously released on Meant as well as the highly respected Throne of Blood imprint. Their cultured sound is finely crafted, synth lead and noir in tone, and this new EP is another fine outing for the pair. 'Lost It' is a dark disco cut with steely synths, pixelated melodies and a cute sense of metropolitan funk. An arpeggiated bassline drives the whole thing along and alien vocals add that abstract air. Danish man and HFN Music regular Kasper Bjorke is first to remix and does so subtly, layering in more compelling drums and upping the watery, melodic aspect of the track.
For their part, Jackethat & Lipelis flip the track into a more overtly disco groover with slithering and withering synths, explosive drums and plenty of wonky lines. Then comes the next original, 'Cold Feet'. This one is a flabby, purposeful and slo-motion disco cut with wobbly arps, chugging drums and slapping percussion that all make you want to get up and move. For the digital exclusives, Remain then goes it alone on his 'Indie Version' of 'Lost It', stripping it back and instead placing the focus on tough synth lines and stiff drum patterns. Lastly, Belgian producer Johnson remixes the title track into a predatory, crawling number with well poised synth stabs, stuttering bass and plenty of freeform lines that all jangle around me well rooted groove. This is an expansive package that covers lost of lush dark disco ground with plenty of flair.
Already support by Sid LeRock, Acid Washed, Maceo Plex, Sean Johnston, Acid Washed Scratch Massive, Rework, Pulp Disco And The Outcast, Click Box, Gabriel Ferreira, Matt Walsh, Chloé, Ivan Smagghe, Tim Paris, Timo Maas, My Favorite Robot, Markus Gibb,Club Bizarre, Botin, Demian, Bufi, Alvaro Cabana, Monoblok&PSLKTR, Tronik Youth, Gameboyz, James Friedman...

A stylistic chameleon and an ultra talented jack-of-all-trades, he is hard to pinpoint, and even harder to categorize. Surfacing at random, he's been releasing music as Leonel Castillo and under various aliases - Arnold Slab, Boeing or Unknown Artista are some of his monikers - on labels as diverse as Ilian Tape, Sushitech, Airdrop and his own imprint Groovear.

Bryan Kessler - New York, Baby
GPM272
Get Physical Music
12inch02.09.201402.SEP.14

HouseTech

'We don't really know if the young BRYAN KESSLER listened to Kraftwerk, but then again we didn't ask - who cares, anyway What's certain, however, is that this punk renegade, songwriting wunderkind and all-around exceptional producer is a man of many faces, and all of them rock. Discovered on stage while spouting anarchist pop slogans and showcasing an impressive underage mohawk haircut, he never was to be a bottled genius sticking to only one gun - and soon set out to become the lead singer and guitarist for neo punk nutters THE POLLYWOGS, while embarking on an equally public career as prolific DJ and dance music producer. It's his mighty fine electronic swagger (and a hearty disrespect for genre norms) which already led to powerful solo releases on Get Physical and LIKE Records, with excitingly raunchy material to follow on Cologne's fringe rave imprint Low Hanging Fruit which is distributed via Kompakt. While working with friends from Comeme he shows up his experimental red line in sound with a skillful easiness. This marks the earth-shattering first steps of a truly remarkable new voice in a traditionally complacent dance industry - little fishes, beware: there's a new shark in the pond.'

Dark Sky - Rainkist
MTR051
Monkeytown Records
12inch09.10.201409.OCT.14

HouseTechTechnoTechno

We haven't heard Dark Sky as smooth as with 'Rainkist' on any of their previous EP releases. The sheer genius of the bassline makes this a gem of a modern soul ballad. It's melodic elegance is gleaming through the track like shining chrome. Hazy falsetto vocals make the song drip of sweat and sex. Both remixers recognize the yearning potential of this beauty of a track but work it very differently.

The Trevino remix adds sci fi synths and electro snares and claps and turns Rainkist into a captivating slow burner perfect for long build ups.

Marcel Dettman's slowly evolving remix pitches the harmonies of the longing vocals to pair them with a pumping sub bass and extends the suspense - packed intro into a pumping techno track that drops at 3:30 and flips it into an absolute dancefloor killer. This is going to be a huge dancefloor hit. Hotly tipped to spearhead the years end polls for best remixes in 2014.

ABOVE MACHINE
12inch05.06.201505.JUN.15

HouseDeepElectronicaTech

Above Machine continue to build a heavenly selection of Summer cuts, bringing aboard - for their eighth outing - the excellent Jose Manuel

This acclaimed Italian producer has landed himself at the forefront of a new wave of Cosmic and Balearic producers with releases on ISIT Balearic, Kinfolk & Joe's Bakery

For his AM debut, the trademark motifs are all present and correct, pulsing electronic workouts underpinned with organic instrumentation, achieving (on 'Cendre') undeniable trance states with North African melodies and hypnotic chants. 'Summer Wind' follows a similar path with a distinctive mantra riding the mesmeric percussive groove and intertwining melodies.

On remix duties, Frenchman Closed Paradise (fresh from that stunning 12 on Fools & Fables) transforms 'Summer Wind' into an altogether more laid-bare and unrelenting dancefloor frug.

Meanwhile Ess O Ess (AKA Jamie Blanco & Chris Stoker) give 'Summer Wind' the Bad Passion treatment, upping the ante with some good old fashioned tension, and a splash of Disco-Rock, building the elements to a subtly evolving crescendo that's dancefloor pay-dirt

Bleeping Sauce - Stories Ep Including Remote Remix
MEANT020
MEANT RECORDS
12inch29.10.201429.OCT.14

HouseDeepTech

Bleeping Sauce is the new live band project from esteemed Minus and Items&Things duo CLICK BOX who have teamed up
with the highly talented Eli Iwasa & Marcos Taga. Presented here is a new EP from them on Meant that showcases their dynamic sound, it comes with three original tracks and a remix by Remote.
Brazilians Marco A.S and Pedro Turra have been on top of the techno and minimal worlds since 2006 thanks to their inventive
and abstract sounds on only the finest labels. This new project shows they have another feather to their bow and sees them explore a sinewy, lovably machine made sound. 'Sounds and Stories' goes first and is a space-age bit of dark wave tech funk
with layers of gurgling synths, stark drums and a cool female vocal that adds tons of punk attitude to proceedings.
Ivan Smagghe or Andrew Weatherall would lap this sort of tune up with its gothic disco vibes. 'Set Time' is another great bit of dark and dirty disco with searching synths, apocalyptic atmospheres and purposeful, live sounding drums. It squeals and shoots in many different directions at once as a corrugated bassline ties the whole thing together. Then comes 'Cherry Green' with more aloof sounding female vocals, 80s dark wave drums and rubbery guitar lines. It's a fine bit of work that sounds like little else out there and is beautifully sombre in mood.
Remixer Remote is a musical duo made up of Eric Guillanton and Seb Fouble, a pair recognized as one of the figureheads
of the French electro scene. Their take on 'Cherry Green' is a filthy dirty, scuzzy and serrated synth laden slo-mo electro track
that will send the 'floor into raptures.
With this release MEANT introduce the world to what is sure to be an essential new project from the Click Box boys.

Elektro Guzzi - Clones
MACROM49LP
Macro Recordings
2x12inch19.09.201619.SEP.16

HouseTechTechnoTechno

Literary all the Granny Smith apple trees grown today, from Uruguay to Hokaido, are CLONES from Mrs. Smith's original tree in Sydney. Bananas, oranges, watermelons, garlic & other fruits of daily delight are routinely replicated without any input of external ideas - i.e., they are cloned. There is no general ethical or aesthetic decision to be formed about CLONES, since you have already imbibed them ever since your first bite. Thus, you are not in a neutral or otherwise preliminary position, but already involved, kneedeep. It may not be a coincidence that the first mammals, warm-blooded egg-layers and small marsupials, date almost exactly to the period of the first flowers, evolving some 125 million years ago. Quick-thinking, vegetable eating mammals provide a most striking example of cooperation in evolution, as their interest in plant foods led them to become well-fed. A bond has been formed. Seedless plants, like banana and oranges, have made a most remarkable dispersal strategy: season after season, human growers CLONE them. The plants are perpetuated because they taste so good. And that's about it. Much has been said about Elektro Guzzi's aptitude in transcending their instrumental sources towards techno of unlikely beauty, pristine consistency and razor-sharp definition. It tastes good, and thus they have decided to CLONE themselves. Elektro Guzzi plow through their own fertile ground of ideas and sprout structures, textures and gestures into a dizzying array of new offerings. Yet the tunnel vision of the singular point of origin of all tracks makes it smack even more. Because there's never too much of a great thing.

Maeve
12inch22.07.201622.JUL.16

HouseTechTechnoDub

Maeve 09 is a special record. It welcomes the return of one of the founding members of the label, Baikal. Although the Dutchman has had somewhat of a hiatus from releasing music, his hard work and struggle with the process of creating forward thinking electronic music has always continued. Pelican's Flight' reaps the rewards of this carefully nurtured process and proves most definitely it was worth the wait.

The title track Pelican's Flight' is a mesmerizing ten-minute techno trip. A throbbing kick drum is decorated with sparkling synth lines all moving on their own orbit creating a trance like effect on the dance floor. The pinnacle of the trip hears rasping chords blast through the swell in a glorious moment of elation, in short this is a bomb.

The B-side All Forces Occur In Pairs' goes deeper again, drawing the listener into a similar hypnotic state. Various sonic ideas breathe in and out of the foreground creating a swirl of expectancy and excitement. This track will cause you to close your eyes and be carried away to another dimension...

Maeve are honored to add this record to their repertoire.

Clarian - Mission To Bars
KOM347
Kompakt
12inch04.12.201504.DEC.15

HouseElectronicaTech

Rumoured to own a collection of vintage Jamie Principle figurines, living off a heady diet of cigarettes plus peanut butter and having been institutionalized at a human testing facility in a former life, there's only so much we can know for sure about CLARIAN - he's of Canadian origin, he's worked with Clockwork and Guy Gerber - while also wote and produced as part of infamous leftield pop crew Footprintz - and he fronts as A&R for Seth Troxler's Soft Touch imprint. That's a pretty solid portfolio for someone who's been billed as "transcendental house music producer". Which in turn is a good indication of what to expect from Clarian's debut offering on Kompakt: MISSION TO BARS comes fitted with three genre-trolling cuts shooting a bit closer to the dance floor than his earlier releases, but still keeping a lock on the unique character of his sound cosmos.

With the MISSION TO BARS triptych, CLARIAN essentially illustrates the story of an astronaut lost on a strange planet suspended in time - a story included in the vinyl release that he wrote while being alone in South Korea for a week, with its surreal, pulp-infused quality perfectly complimenting the music: hypnotic opener SPACE NOIR tells us about the astronaut's fantastic voyages through space and time - but it remains unclear if these adventures are the mere side effects of a vivid, delusional imagination. Banging title cut MISSION TO BARS finds him increasingly alienated from society and longing for his biggest love - whiskey. The smooth, mesmerizing VER (11 AM MIX) ties everything together and depicts our not-so-space-travelling hero sitting in a bar, with his mind in space and his body trying to indulge in his favorite booze - but he can't drink the whiskey, for he can't remove his space helmet, ultimately pouring the liquid gold all over his head. Seems like an appropriately surreal plot for the throbbing sub-basses, twisted vocal samples and rolling percussion - a deep, but surprisingly jaunty offering from Clarian that is brimming with left turns and idiosyncratic sound design, all the while bringing you a trio of highly playable club tunes that won't disappoint even the most discerning floors.

Dreems - Charcoals Ep

Les Temps Perdu
12inch20.06.201620.JUN.16

HouseTechSlow

Charcoals (Niagara Remix) Digital exclusive: Cooking Bananas Under A Blue Moon At Mike's Short info: The second offering on Le Temps Perdu is all about the time spent on intercontinental travel, food, drinks and careless banter. You are kindly invited to a Multi Cultural BBQ in Australia hosted by the musical master of disguise Dreems. Featuring remix work from Finger Prince, Statue and Niagara this one is coming off the grill hot. There isn't much more iconic than a BBQ when it comes to Australian culture. The age-old term of 'throwing another one on the barbie' may sometimes get misconceived when conversing with a foreigner but the end result is usually interesting. Dreems invites a few friends over for a backyard session and the sounds are the result of a few too many cold ones and definitely too many hot ones. The title track 'Charcoals' would in a sense be the best way to have a BBQ or the preferably desired way to cook your goods. Nothing quite brings out the taste and the sound of a grill under the heat of some searing 'coals' prepared for a couple of hours. With drums by his homie Ccolo the whole thing takes on the essence of what a good BBQ is - friends and food. 'Heating up the Voyetra', an alternative method to cooking up some music, started off as a small impromptu jam in another backyard on another continent with Montrealer Clarian during one of those formidable cold Canadian evenings and took shape over the course of winter when venturing outside for a meal seemed impossible - most of the studio snacks were kept room temperature by setting themselves up atop the synths. 'Cooking Bananas Under A Blue Moon At Mike's' is one way to get your little fellas tasting cosmic.

Limited to 300 copies.

Entlet brings up the spirit of the ancient Paraguayan tribe Enxet. For the past twenty years, we have been delighted to discover shrewdly on the dancefloors his capacity to develop such a bestial jungle and magnificent rituals. He produced this trilogy with cosmic tones in the vein of the other label releases; an appeal to the collective trance and an evocation of the festive traditions that have transcended the past centuries. After countless epic adventures on the drum'n'bass scene, he has performed and produced mainly house and techno tracks. The echoes of his live appearances often reverberate long after the following day. Some people say that he has the ability to pay a superhuman attention to the sound.

Through Mystic Condor, you will rise towards a joyful and powerful hypnotic state of mind. The Feathered Serpent will delicately bring you in an extraordinary journey. Tramontina is a groovy and spatial evocation, an atmosphere deserving Mr. Fritz Lang's movie. All the sounds progress constantly towards the highest level, like the sun. Night New World is the most chill-out piece of this release, everything stretches and calms down, but never forget the whip lash.

Following on from big releases by the likes of Cherie Lee, the storming Danse Club Records are back with another big house classic that comes complete with on point remixes from Dutch tech house hero Lauhaus, label bosses Brodanse plus Bass Culture alumni John Jastszebski who's version will be vinyl only. Kalisha's original is a classic house beat released on N Sync Inc back in 1992, but it still sounds hugely on point. With garage inflected beats, grainy, catchy percussion and pristine chord stabs it is an ebullient jam that brims with personality. The recognisable vocal samples help take it to the next level and mean it cannot fail to fill dancefloors everywhere. Updating the track for modern listeners are the three remixes. First is 100% and Area Remote stalwart Lauhaus who has long been a champion of loopy tech house. His version is much more punchy right from the off. The kicks are bulbous and the chords more metallic whilst the vocal is allowed to shine through at various points, just when you need it. The Brodanse brothers then do their educated thing by stripping the track back to eerie FX and thick wavey bass tones. Little melodic hooks pan left and right and imbue the whole thing with plenty of dynamism and the much more sparring use of the vocal helps make this a track very much with its own identity. Finally, vinyl buyers will be treated to an extra remix from fast rising French producer John Jastszebski. His version is stripped to the raw techno leaning bones. The textures are dark and broody and the groove New Release Information is heavyweight and wellchiselled meaning it locks you in place and keeps you there right until the last rotation. Another timely house rerelease from Danse Club then, but as ever one which

Kenny Glasgow - Circus Tales
NO19072
No.19 Music
2x12inch25.07.201625.JUL.16

HouseDeepTech

Electronic music heavyweight Kenny Glasgow is back with his much anticpated new solo album entitled 'Circus Tales'. Due for release on Jonny White's agenda setting No.19 Music, it is a long overdue and hugely welcome follow up to 2009's 'Taste of the Low Life' which appeared on the same label.
Before touring the world, releasing albums and appearing on magazine covers as influential duo Art Department with White, Glasgow was a key player in his native Canada as a DJ, producer and promoter, helping foment the local scene with his own key parties and DJ sets. His vocal work and production style is always truly unique, often featuring haunting sounds and desolate urban vibes that sound like no one else.
Releasing on labels like the Toronto based Jinxx during the 90s, he went on to become a key solo artist with the newly launched No.19 Music imprint back in 2008. This brilliant new album shows he has never stopped evolving and digs deep to find exciting new life in house, techno and plenty in between.
Right from the off, Glasgow's dehumanised style is on full display. Robot vocals and rugged grooves are embellished with creepy melodies and unhinged synths. After that arresting opener, 'Come On' keeps up the pressure with prying bass and slick drums, and 'Response From Mars' gets dark and freaky with wonky chords, minimal drum programming and metallic textures that are industrial and inviting.
Trying something fresh with each new track, the album switches up the moods and grooves with ease and style, and 'floor slaying cuts like 'Pro-to-Type' and the melodically expansive 'Everything is Breath' prove that with aplomb. 'Communication Meltdown' proves Glasgow can play truly musical chords as well as programme drums to make dancers go wild, and the final trio of tracks get truly heady and hypnotic for the most discerning back rooms out there.
This is a complete sound world from Glasgow that features a coherent and cohesive set of dance floor tracks. The whole thing is a masterful piece of forward facing work that will surely set the world alight this summer.
In advance of the full digital album release there will be a limited vinyl album sampler dropping in late July featuring 6 key tracks from the LP.

HouseDeepTech

With its newest vinyl, DER HUT presents a remix by Wahrlich & Carbon for Kotelett & Zadak's classic "Angela"
monster, Breger's pure and stormy "Dachschaden" as much as Wahrlich & Carbon with their "Empty" tune on record # 25.
A: Kotelett & Zadak - Angela (Wahrlich & Carbon RMX): Real experts will certainly remember the original Angela
monstrum with tears in their eyes. Years after, Wahrlich & Carbon come up with a rework which is, well, - quite
something! B1: Breger - Dachschaden: Deep, atmospheric and minimal. A great thumper found in the middle of the track as
a peak of the hill until the beats lapse back into the refreshing pureness of Dachschaden's massive framework.
B2: Wahrlich & Carbon - Empty: Wahrlich & Carbon come up with a track inspired by a Bruce Lee quote saying "Empty your mind - be formless". Its almost monumental repetitiveness makes this an hypnotic tool for loosing yourself in sound

"She is adventurous. She is restless. She is on the move. The seventh Heulsuse by Berlin-based Tony Casanova and Mirco Niemeier goes by the name "Laika's Journey" and includes a stunning Kevin Over Remix. Both originals are pure dancefloor-oriented firebugs that boast with unique rhythms and some extra fancy basslines. You better beware - Laika's rocket was just launched. "

Paul Bowen - Salad Fingers Ep
LR019
LUNA RECORDS
12inch08.05.201508.MAY.15

HouseMinimalTech

Britain's Luna Records returns this April with a release titled 'Salad Fingers' from label founder Paul Bowen.

Since its launch North England's Luna Records has championed both fresh and established producers alike, with artists such as DJ W!ld, Matthias Tanzamann, Justin Drake, Chris Lattner and Alexkid all releasing on the imprint over the last 5 years. Furthermore Paul Bowen has proven to be an excellent producer himself by releasing on the likes of VIVa Music and Decay Records when not advocating his own imprint. 'Rusty Spoon' lays down a heady groove built on punchy kicks and subtle toms whilst coercing a tone of ethereality courtesy of sweeping pads and an incomprehensible spoken sample. Meanwhile 'Rumpus' introduces a sultry bassline topped with infectious rimshots, spectral atmospherics and pulsating chords for mesmerising results.

Rolldabeetz - Kills For A Prize

HouseTech

Pako and Fabø aka Rolldabeetz —label bosses at the cult imprint that is Playperview alongside Brazilian tastemaker HNQO—are celebrating their 10th anniversary as a tight musical twosome. They are doing so with some very special events, including the release of the first vinyl EP on Playperview, which brings together two fresh originals plus a remix from Davis & Zopelar.
In the last ten years this talented pair have put out almost twenty singles and have found support from big DJs as well as dancers around the world. They have a fat house sound that is full of invention and new ideas and is always produced with a great sense of style.
The first track here, He Kills For A Prize, proves that. It is a tantalising cut with bleepy melodies and chunky beats making you want to shake your limbs. There is real tension in it that keeps you locked throughout. Overheat is then a darker, more direct tune with frazzled synths spraying about beneath trip melodic sounds. Finally, the acclaimed duo of Davis & Zopelar remix and turn the track into something for the peak time with its sweeping filters, canoeing drums and riotous percussion.
Overall, this is a suitably great EP to make the first vinyl release on Playperview.
