Next up on Crosstown Rebels is a release from one of the most long-standing and highly respected artists of the techno scene, the legendary Dave Angel.

Dave Angel has created a powerful and mesmerizing techno opus with 'Revelation', a track that unfolds as intensity increases. 'Guru''s techno infusion beholds a dreamy vocal, warm synths amidst a driving beat made for tireless dancefloors.

A part of the very fabric of the UK techno scene, Dave Angel's status as an erudite for electronic culture is based upon the endless memories of those who have lived, loved and danced to the astonishing output of music he has created over the years. Born the son of a Jazz musician and brother to British hip-hop artist Monie Love, Dave's path in music came to the fore during the 80s acid house scene in London

Dave's weekly broadcast on pirate radio station Phaze One catapulted him into the spot light with notable publications like Mixmag, DJ Magazine and The Guardia. He has remixed Orbital, Sun Electric, Carl Cox, Juan Atkins, Spooky, James, Roni Size and Underworld and released on esteemed labels such as Polydor/Love, OuterRythum, Fnac, React Records, Island, R+S and Outrage as well as his own infamous Rotation records.

The Brooklyn-based producer and White Material Records affiliate Galcher Lustwerk re-emerges with a new imprint and four of his own deep, contorting house cuts with The Parlay EP. Fans of his "100% GALCHER" promo mix will immediatedly recognize the tracks on this release, which have been re-mixed and calibrated for club play. The hazy but hard hitting production and laid back vocals are all here, with a bonus dub version of the title track.

'Mouth' follows acclaimed lead single 'Giudecca' that was reworked by Factory Floor's Gabe Gurnsey. Now, with Running Back co-founder and Tuff City Kid Gerd Janson - often referred to as 'the DJ's DJ' - and his label affiliate Shan on remix duties across Club, Instrumental, 808 Culture Dub and Acid versions, 'Mouth' is set to propel Ghost Culture to new heights and further establish his well earned position as one of the most accomplished new acts on the musical landscape.

Dogamtik deliver a quality EP from Detroit's Monty Luke, who gives us three killer tracks in a moodyman/theo vein. Tip!

ALR001 is tech-house based track features one late-night club cut of pure, padded brilliance. The original mix is a meditative, as it blissfully sways between softly thumping bass and euphoric synth snippets. Hamburg based well known DJ CESS (formally from also known from Cocoon Booking Re-Edited the track for DJ´s with a male spoken monologue that, despite being a tad pretentious, actually kind of weirdly works. Fittingly, it's the most dance floor appropriate of the bunch and would slip nicely into a bleary-eyed, 6am sunrise set.

"Russian label Ygrok follows its first release from Kjofol with 002, a 2-track EP from an anonymous producer from the Ygrok family. The label name which translates to 'gambler' or 'player' was the spirit bringing together two young DJ's who could not be more different.
A1 opens with steady orchestral notes as whispers float in the background. A ghostly whistle signals the beginning of takeoff - simple, beautiful and cinematic, a lead string takes you on a flying emotional peak. Timeless 909 programming, two graceful energetic builds, and nothing else. All the makings of a summer anthem.
B1 takes a step deeper and groovier, the after hour answer to the A side. Bubbling, weightless synthesizer floats off into space as the main melody comes twinkling and swirling into view. A touch of electric guitar, deft syncopated minimal funk in the finest Russian style, and the trip gently lands you in another galaxy.

The Untold Stories returns with a another double vinyl collection, this time divided into two chapters: Chapter III and Chapter IV. All begins with an extended work by Denis Kaznacheev. Then tracks by Vlad Caia and Kaitaro complete the first record. The second record, Chapter IV, begins with a warm and laid-back work by Ivan Lopez, followed by a distinct Andrey Zots remix. The final side, begins with a track both playful and eccentric by Zefzeed, and the chapter is complete with an ethereal lightness from Verrina & Ventura. So as a collection, 3 darker moodier tracks on the black Chapter III record, and four lighter tracks on the transparent yellow record of Chapter IV, make for another exciting release from The Untold Stories.

His 1st since relocating to Berlin reflects different modes of the dancefloor as filtered thru his metronome. Driving, atmospheric, & at times euphoric these narratives meld into an EP that carries the emotional colors of an album.

After 1 good year of hiatus & celebrating its 6th year in the game, Room With A View is back in full effect with a very special 3 tracker by Kyodai, a duo that has been gathering serious momentum after highly celebrated releases on Local Talk, Exploited, Freerange or Pokerflat to name a few.
The famous brother pair has proven to be working hard in the last years recording, remixing & touring extensively. Reknown for their energitic live performances & to have deliver tracks & remixes that have been played by the Who's who of the global House scene, Kyodai have decided to choose RWAV to deliver some very personal tracks.In 2013 already, they appeared on our label with the uplifting "What You Give" that became one of the key tracks of the live sets of the last 2 years.
Enjoying a long 15 years friendship with Dairmount and a common love of hybrid tracks loaded of musicality, Javi & Luis decided to lock themselves in studio last winter inspired by the idea to be the artist chosen to relaunch the label in 2015. The title Times Fly symbolises the longevity of friends that went through 2 decades of creation & exchange.
And the result has been as surprising as the pair shaped up a very hypnotic & tribal red line with these new tunes.
The title track "Times Fly" has been recorded in a few hours on a full moon night in their berlin studio, managing to induce a perfect balance of melancholy & tribal rhythms. Quite different of their usual sound signature, the track got everything to conquer the hearts of many different dj's & listeners this summer. "Sacred Ritual" is born of the idea of creating a special tool for Panorama Bar (where the pair just played before their studio time in January) and focusing on the power of drums & percussions. Finally, "You Know It" is reminiscent of their classic Kyodai sound epitomised by their hit Breaking with filtered basslines & catchy samples. The track has been one of the big crowd pleasers of their recent live sets.

The fourth instalment from the Baroc label has dropped! 004 from Unfinished Portraits is another excursion into the raw depths of house and techno. Three untitled cuts let the music do the talking, scraping hats and some choice vocal samples help to cement this labels signature sound on another outstanding 12". All hand stamped, with postcard inserts.

Burek's sister label Barba on its fourth release introduces Heinrich Dressel, project related working name of Valerio, a force behind MinimalRome label from Italy. His productions have been gaining serious attention amongst deeper electro connoisseurs who appreciate almost cinematic feel but still with an eye on the floor which resulted in quite a few moody smashers released on various EPs in the past. Three tracks here evoking familiar feelings heard before but still somehow they all sound fresh and drag you in wanting for more. As if this wouldn't do it, there is first but, not last appearance for Barba label by mighty JTC who needs no further introduction delivering a remix. This time he cleverly uses sparse but recognizable parts of title track which he then transforms into relentless floor shaker where Detroit meets Chicago, if any such comparison needs to be made. Aquatic stuff!

The 30th release on the Trunkfunk label comes from Vinny Villbass, one of the long-time driving forces behind the Norwegian club scene. His two hot originals come with a remix from Skancke and Doc L Junior. Villbass is one third of the crew behind the renown Oslo club night Sun kissed and initiator of the Norwegian web-portal OsloClubCast. He is also one of two curators behind the much hyped contemporary stage project Pantha Du Prince & The Bell Laboratory and as a DJ is known for his exceptional groove and timing as a result of 15 years behind the decks, mostly in Scandinavia, but also as a resident of German club capitol Berlin. The title 'Zip' comes from the old Zip drive where Vinny found and rediscovered some great samples that he used in the production of this release. Vinny used to put parties on and DJ together with Trunkfunk Records A&R / Label boss under 'ELK ELK' that was the initial connection that eventually led to this release.
The track in original form is Zap and is a rich, bubbly and deep house tune with slithering synths that are lithe and elastic. It's a seductive and subtle groove as a result but one that really gets under your skin. The remix from Skancke is a more minimal affair with intricately designed hi hats and snares and super soft focus sine wave bass and it is just the sort of thing you might find on the Perlon label. Zap is then a more melodically playful and colourful tune with smeared pads, a real sense of electronic soul and plenty of sun in it bones. Its uplifting and feel good and really stands out as a finely produced modern classic. The Doc L Junior remix of this one again gets a little weird, with trips patterns, occult synths and an unhinged and left of centre charm that really works. Once again here TrunkFunk have come up with the club ready goods!

The Berlin-based collective return with another slab of beautifully crafted and timeless warm deep-house, blending together emotive pads, kicking drums and broken rhythms. Mastered at Alchemy and pressed on 180g vinyl.

We celebrate Intacto's 10-year anniversary and welcome back co-owner Dylan Hermelijn aka 2000 and One with our 50th release on wax.

2000 AND ONE (aka Dylan Hermelijn) has been on the forefront of electronic dance music since the late eighties. His pioneering vision across more than two decades of music genres now ranks him as one the most versatile, in-demand international artists, commanding weekly performances on the house, techno and tech house global club and festival circuits.  
 
Not only recognised as a magnet for the clubbing crowds, he is also credited for championing the sounds of Amsterdam's new school DJ and Producer generation and propelling the scene's visibility into the international club headlights with his six Amsterdam labels, of which he co-owns Intacto Records with Shinedoe.

A no-nonsense Techno release by 2000 and One entitled 'Rambik EP' contains 3 tracks on both vinyl and digital format. Dylan draws his inspiration for this release from the Dutch word "Kattegat" which find its heritage way back in the 8th century when the Vikings first set sail and reign down to conquer West Europe. Kattegat is that narrow passage in the Baltic Sea that connects Scandinavia with the North Sea.

Largely sequencer-based composition practices opened up Barera's usual hand-playing approach and allowed him to create rich and melodic, yet precise and powerful techno. "The Opportunist" conjures images of arriving in darkness, taking what you can, and leaving quickly to avoid detection. "Discipline" is Barera's full-on workout, with all the rushes associated, itself very much a product of discipline. "A New Future" suggests an optimistic if uncertain outlook, a world where anything is possible, while "Last Glacial Maximum," which refers to a period in the Earth's history when ice sheets were at their most recent maximum extension, represents a somewhat bleaker view. The musically kindred spirits behind Massachusetts-based Mentha Records are ideal partners in this project, warmly embracing Barera's wide-eyed techno concepts.

Toby Tobias has been responsible for some fine quality music over the past 10 years with labels such as Rekids, Nang, Let's Play House and Quintessentials all dropping his unique brand of raw, analogue house and techno. A DJ's DJ who always seems to pull out a lesser known gem and make it sound like a classic, Toby knows his music as well as his studio, inside out. We've been proud to deliver three EP's from him on Delusions but we all felt the time was right for a full length, especially considering that 7 years have passed since his debut LP Space Shuffle on Rekids. Toby fully embraced the scope and breadth that an LP affords a producer, holing up in his Hackney studio and losing himself in his machines. Rising Son is the result of those sessions and it's brilliant!

From the opening machine funk of The Wonder featuring vocals from Atwell we can hear that Toby is quite sure about the direction he's taken for the LP. 808 beats bring vintage electro vibes whilst Atwell's vocal hints at the golden era of Chicago house, adding a soulful touch to the rigid groove. Love Affair continues the theme of off-world utopia where the droids have a heart and soul and sing torch songs of love lost, the Moroder-esque influences bringing a retro sheen to the LP. As we continue through tracks such as Sloflava and Sending Signals we find blissful, downtempo jams which perfectly soundtrack this imagined night time world which Toby seems so happy to immerse himself and his listeners in.

I Robot follows, providing the one cover version on the LP from the Alan Parsons Project as well as being an LP defining focal point. A track which shows that when the machines are working for you, it could just be a perfect world. But Broken Computer soon shows us what can happen when things go wrong. Incidentally, this is from a genuine computer crash which Toby managed to capture using his phone. A beautiful glitch in the system which spewed out such a mournful noise and a very happy accident that would be completely impossible to create if you set out to try.

As we continue we're treated to the likes of Friday Analogue Jam, Whisper It and Weird Danger, all echoing bleeps, squelching bass notes, heavenly pads and precision beats. In some ways we get a feeling of a land that time forgot, in others something of sublime beauty and futurism. That Toby can paint pictures with his music in this way speaks volumes, knowing instinctively when to draw out a mood or feeling or flip things on their head to command your attention and beg another listen. And another.....

Steady rocking it with music to make you smile, that is a suitable description of WunderBar's next new guest, Oliver Schories. With a string of big releases on labels including Parquet, Ostwind and Musik Gewinnt Freunde, he is stopping by to "catch a breath". The original will unfreeze your minds and hearts with his sun-warmed and soulful trademark. The Ep is filled with a solid remix pack of surprises, started with a folklorish bonfire-romantic from "Zusammenklang" by switching the theme in ambient. Finally we are equally excited to welcome "Edward" to our label family with a housey retouch of the title track, which will likely be heard in clubs. The WunderBar imprint thinks outside the box when it comes to dealing out the house goods.

Primitive World AKA Sam WIllis joins R&S following a string of highly regarded releases on Black Acre, Ecstatic Sound and Obsession Recordings. The legendary Belgian label is the perfect home for his dancefloor deconstructions, with the project's experimental, off kilter take on house & techno a natural fit for R&S Records' boundary-shifting heritage. A former member of revered Kompakt duo WALLS, Primitive World draws from Willis's time as part of influential London duo Allez Allez, whose DJ sets and podcast frequently drew from dance music's
punk and industrial fringes. Purple Caps finds the Primitive World sound further maturing, the EP's four original tracks confidently club focused yet esoteric enough to demand the full attention of DJs and dancers with their off kilter rhythmic sensibility. Since its inception in 2012 with the Danceteria EP on Black Acre the project has already won ardent fans among DJs such as Untold, Lowtec, Joy Orbison and Barnt, while an early version
of this EP's Azimuth found its way into Tessela's Radio 1 show in
2014.

After the excellent results obtained from the previous ep on Metropolitan Recordings, Varen debuts on Taste Of Honey with a single for club music lovers. Great collaboration with singer Lukash and huge new entry in the Taste Of Honey's Crew: Giorgia Angiuli, from We Love (Bpitch Control), produces an excellent remix with a very dark setting.

After last year's well recieved album 'The Phoenix', King Britt returns under his Fhloston Paradigm moniker for the first in a series of 'Cosmosis' EPs. 'Cosmosis Vol 1' is three spacey perfumed hardware workouts of the kind that Fhloston Paradigm built his name on. The EP starts with 'Sonic Six', matching bumping drum machine rhythms with gurgling bleeps, and mournful strings building the emotion through the noise.The second track is the slowly evolving ambience of 'Faith', which builds up into radiant, shimmering clouds of sound before a bass line drops midway, grounding the track melodically and switching the emotion from ecstatic to bittersweet. The EP closes with 'Past', where broken sounds are dragged over a warping piano line, and a flickering static melody engulfs the track as the noise dies out. 'Cosmosis Vol 2' will follow early in 2016 ...

Kito Jempere will be a new name to many with only a handful of productions and remixes under his belt but that's the way we like to do it here and we're proud to play a small part in helping introduce his production prowess to a wider audience. The St. Petersburg native came to our attention following an invite for Jimpster to play at one of his legendary outdoor summer parties in his home town. A friendship was born and when the brilliant demos arrived in the mail, it wasn't a hard decision to agree to release them.

Confusion kicks off the EP in a blaze of rattling percussion, layers of cowbells building the groove whilst the glitchy pads shift in unison with the thick moogy bass. Extra splashes of crash and live snare rolls add a sample-heavy energy and enhance the live feel laying down the foundation for the vocal sample. This one is the perfect moodsetter with the constantly moving chord progression keeping your interest and the fat, analogue production adding extra warmth to the sound.

I Get This Feeling follows, treading a similar sonic path with hints of live breaks and percussion loops injecting movement into the loping house groove. Dubbed out vocals and horn samples add a definite mid-nineties feel to this one with a nod to Guidance or UK labels DIY and Paper shining through.

Flipping over we have a whopper of a remix from Jacob Korn who has been on our remixer hitlist ever since his She release blew us away in 2011. The German producer has been killing it with every remix and original production since then so we were over the moon when we heard he loved the original track and would be happy to get involved. As it turned out we got not one but two absolute beauties from him. The vinyl version bounces along perfectly over it's nine and a half minutes remaining deeper than deep yet keeping maximum energy flowing with the Wild Pitch-esque vocal stabs and dramatic build ups and breakdowns.

The digital bonus version offers a completely different vibe with Jacob opting for a straighter groove, an intense repeating bass note and layers of stabs all making for complete dancefloor ecstacy. Tried and tested by Jimpster on his Boiler Room set and recent live gigs and looking set to becaome the secret weapon of many in the coming months.
