'Are you ready to rise up and take your life into your own hands' So goes Nick Maurer's challenge on Mark Deutsche & Musoé's stunning new transmission of pounding, deadly deep techno. Justly feted for 2013's 'Push' - a big, bold and booming calling card - Mark Ullrich and Turgay Avicoglu kick off 2015 in fine style for Senso Sounds with this equally brilliant track. The original mix packs a punch with a windpipe-rattling kick and Maurer's stentorian spoken-word performance before a grainy melodic riff whips you higher and higher into oblivion. The textures are delicious, the rhythms understated yet complex. On remix duties, Alex Dolby creates a stupendous wobble in the space-time continuum - an interpretation that vibrates, ripples and quivers in an edgy, avant-garde manner. Meanwhile, Senso Sounds label boss Oliver Huntemann takes a big-room techno approach with textbook build up, breakdown and a climactic pay-off, precision-tooled for the dancefloor. On the strength of this package alone - and with more releases scheduled on an array of underground labels - 2015 is going to be a big year for this very dynamic duo.

Anhura Vinyl's debut in the exclusive and acclaimed vinyl edition is, as it was expected, a complete success. Max Chapman & Aj Christou are in charge of 'Gruds & Kecks'. This release starts with a moderate disco house nearly background melody at some points, and evolves into more tech grounds which plunge us directly in a deep, retro-spatial sphere. A place where this electronic and bass sounds coming from the 80s' and 90s' provide it with amazing timelessness whenever it is heard. It is an uncommon release diverging from the mainstream and ideal to start a completely promising series.
Sishi Rosch takes 'Gruds & Kecks' into the electronic house lands. As in the previous case, he furnishes it with speed and risk, concretion regarding its percussive development. Always maintaining its electronic melody, he seems to want to direct it to the club scene, and he undoubtedly makes it.
Max Chapman & Aj Christou's second track follows 'Gruds & Kecks' disco house line. 'Agwa' contains the characteristic spatial and percussive elements from the 80s', as well as an outstanding electro presence and weight. We could say that these two tracks are like well matched brothers as some elements reappear, those which does not give us any clue about the creation date and their real intentions.
Finally, 'Agwa' remix by Miguel Puente conserves its vintage foundation and mysterious groove, but he provides it with some - and almost necessary- bmps to be enjoyed in any dance floor. Those funky sounds, the appropriate synthetic bass and the blurred and faltering voices make it different from the original and take it to an even less concrete sphere, if that's possible. Elements which make it specially interesting and well constructed.

In 2011 Nebraska released an album called Displacement. Every one of the tracks have been aired on the Mister sound system, and at least three of them have become anthems for the party. (If you don't own that album, get it.)
About a year ago, we started to wonder, "Where is this Nebraska guy" He hadn't released any new music since the LP. We searched high and low an found his contact. When we got in touch, he responded by paying us a visit, bringing us a couple pieces of vinyl (one of which made its way onto Eamon and Justin's Weekends and Beginnings Mix) and, thankfully, sending us a steady stream of unreleased music.
A couple of those songs have become regular dance floor contenders, and we're very happy to say now that we've cut them to wax, and we're officially welcoming Nebraska into the
Mister Saturday Night family.

No.19 lynchpin Nitin returns to the fore with a superb new single of deep and dubby house music, backed with remixes from Steve Rachmad & Deadbeat.
Toronto based DJ/producer Nitin has had a busy few years of late. The tireless electronic music aficionado has been a key figure in the explosive expansion of BPM festival, has been integral in the growth of the No.19 label and has toured extensively as a key fixture at the label's Social Experiment events and beyond. What has been a rarity though is releases. Tracks have appeared on samplers and compilations but it has been almost 3 years since the last full Nitin single was dropped. Fortunately that wait is now over as Nitin steps up with probably his strongest record to date the wonderfully deep and dynamic 'Dubbed Out'.
The package opens with the original mix, a brilliantly understated slice of dub house that marries sparse drum programming with drawn out chords and subtle FX. This is deep house as it should be, blissfully emotive and truly hypnotic and all conjured from a handful of sounds, perfectly arranged.
The remix package kicks off with a vinyl only mix from Dutch techno stalwart Steve Rachmad under his Parallel 9 moniker. He brings a darker, metallic feel to the record with taut percussion and filtered stabs driving things towards the floor as the swirling pads of the original take on a more menacing note. Next up Montreal dub minimalist Deadbeat takes the reins, turning in a version of 'Dubbed Out' that stays true to the name with a flurry of tape delay, a rolling rhythm section and a spacious yet relentless vibe.
The package is completed with a further trio of mixes from Steve Rachmad who obviously had a lot of love for the original, investing as he has four stellar versions. The first of the three closers sees Rachmad journey into melodic and dreamy territory with tranquil pads and a mesmerising riff holding the whole thing together beautifully. The first of the bonus mixes stays very much in the same vein, giving an extended alternative whilst the final bonus mix journeys into more stripped back and abstract realms.
'Dubbed Out' is an underground gem from a truly talented producer and comes backed with an unimpeachable remix package, enjoy!

Tuskegee Music was launched in May of 2014 by House Music dignitaries Seth Troxler and the Martinez Brothers. As a 'label of cultural heritage' the intention is to package up 90's-minded 12's that reach into the heart of Paradise Garage and shed a light on a fertile period of influence in dance music's history.
Now - a year on from its inception - Seth offers up 'Just Back' - a brooding 2-track EP that demonstrates perfectly his ability to control tension to rapturous effect and finally satisfies the vehement anticipation bubbling between his peers with what's set to be Seth's biggest and most important record to date.
'CZ' kicks things off with a contrast that blooms steadily into focus; a jutting funk groove hustles under atmospheric patches that are built from swirling synths and distant orchestral phrases. Tight and purposeful hats propel progress ahead of a mangled organ line that lifts the tenor of the track towards its enlivening conclusion; a shift in intensity that Seth has learnt to harness over his ample experience as a DJ and now translate into a devastatingly effective record.
'Junkyard Tool' then snowballs behind rough and rattling percussion before thick, beaming synth sweeps and hallucinogenic high-frequencies are sat atop a full and bumping low-end set to do serious damage on the dance floor.

Big Dinosaur Mouth is the debut album from London-based funk and soul guitarist Hugh Gledhill (The Jezebel Sextet, The James Taylor Quartet) on Sookie Records, featuring Hugh Gledhill on guitar, Seamus Beaghen (Trio Valore), on Hammond, Burundian singer/songwriter Mudibu on vocals, and the Killer Horns (Alice Russell).
Nine new songs blend Memphis soul, boogaloo guitar, Hammond and horns - all captured with outstanding sound quality on analogue tape. Mudibu features on four vocal tracks including 'Under Our Eyes' and 'Time, Strength...; Patience', two ballads inspired by Steve Cropper and Booker T & The MGs, plus the radio-friendly 'Don't Rush' with its summer soul groove, ska chorus and big finale.
Five instrumentals each contribute a different sound and mood. There's menacing wah on 'Three Tombstones', stuttering Hammond on 'Sweet Magritte' and raw boogaloo on 'Get Out'. 'Captain Thunder' peaks with rambunctious guitar and Hammond trading solos over punchy horn breaks and a JBs inspired groove.
The end result is an impressive and varied debut album from this talented British musician, celebrating the sound of 1960s soul, street funk and boogaloo.

One year has passed since The Pilotwings' first output « Agorespace ». Expectations went further in 2015 as they contributed to the rave-ish J-Zbel project. The pair is now back on BFDM with another ode to rurality and old-fashioned analogue. Including 4 tracks, « Molitor 71 » goes deeper into retrofuturist nostalgia and bucolic mood. A 1 31 Septembre (On Va Tout Niker) introduces full-on panflute melodies and uplifting Korg exotica. As the trancy Chicago dream fades out, A2 Les Invasions Babar unveils its weird combo of electro beats and massive Patrick Cowley-esque synths. Unplanned bass moves lead this jam while an undertaking voice calls for no less than « the greatest experience of your life ». Things settle down on the nocturnal B1 Congo Libre. Focus on breakbeats and sophisticated rhythms evokes Trance Beats, while sparkling synths emerge from everywhere. The Ep ends up with a floating ambient piece called Buruganda Ouverture and designed for the listener to rediscover the meaning of his existence. Molitor will give you faith in humanity and flutes again.

Trailblazing UK label Planet Mu recently announced it would celebrate 20 years of life with µ20, a 50-track compilation of old and new unreleased tracks and remixes on CD and digital.
Now, The Vinyl Factory is proud to present an 18-track vinyl edition of µ20, spread across three 12 records.
For a label that's existed in an orbit of its own, on very independent terms, it's remarkable that Planet Mu has survived 20 years. Pushing buttons from IDM and breakcore to dubstep and grime, and lately footwork, Mike Paradinas' (µ-Zip) label has a strong history of joining the dots betweens genres by supporting idiosyncratic artists from label stalwart Venetian Snares to Kuedo, Machinedrum, Boxcutter, Vex'd, Falty DL, Luke Vibert, Ital, Jlin and Mr. Mitch to name just a few.
µ20 is a living document of that history. A colourful and adventurous ride across the roster, the compilation features contributions from the current decade as well as some of the old guard, dipping back to the late nineties and early 2000s for a range of noisier, knottier tracks.

The second Cyanide pill comes by the skilled hands of Robort Needs Oil. This experienced Polish chemist is well known for his previous works on labels like Acker, Artreform or Jett. This time he offers us two different tracks for two different moods: The title track 'Coco The Cat' is an effective funky house dancefloor cracker, spiced with an incredible hypnotic latin-jazz organ.
On the other hand, 'Tempranillo' is an awesome melodic tech house masterpice. Sweet as an Spanish red wine, is a clear winner in this upcoming summer open airs. The first remixer that we find is Junior Gee (8 Bit, Material Series), who strips down 'Coco the Cat'and transforms it into a solid tech house dj tool. Meanwhile Marc de Vole and Boss Axis join forces and create a massive peaktime version of 'Tempranillo'.

Completing a brand new trio of EPs, fledgling Creme Organization off shoot Jericho now looks to HoBl for four fresh tracks. HoBl is a Houndstooth related producer who also records as King Cannibal and has already played at fabric, so is sure to go on to even bigger things once the world hears this fine new EP. First up is 'Cold (This City)' which is a chilly bit of techno futurism with weird vocals panning around icy synth lines and reflective metal surfaces. It is dramatic and large in scale as it unfolds with you right at the centre of the unsettling world. 'Deep Devotion' is then a compelling ambient cut with the distant crackle of white noise, afro-vocals and spare drum hits all making for an absorbing bit of ambience that sweeps, sweeps and swoons at a super slo-mo pace. 'Midnight Caller' is a more electro focussed jam with thick synths, crisp pinging drums and more background ambience that is dark and foreboding, whilst final cut 'A Girl Called Pity' is another free roaming electro jam with pain in its synths, paranoia in its atmospheres and funk in its drums. This is truly otherworldly music transmitted from a failed galaxy far off into deepest darkest space.

Whether by leading his labels Go Deeva and Basica with brilliant releases or
appearing in big hitting imprints like Suara or Defected, Italian new wave star Simone
Vitullo has made quite an impact in dancefloors all over the world. His infectious
beats ooze with floorfilling madness and tasteful grooves. We couldn't wait much
longer to have him in our team and this two-tracker is definitely a proud statement of
his quality and dedication.
"Cracks" is one of those tracks that turn the club upside down with great flow in
drums and percussion and a catchy house organ lick all brought up to the next level
when the uber sexy vocals of Cari Golden make their appearance.
"Stabs", on the flipside, takes a deeper approach and, as the name indicates, is filled
with an overgrowing progression of synths and strings that make it
irresistible both for the body and the mind.
We are quite happy to be able to keep adding new and exciting names to our roster
of talents, this is another one for the dancefloor.

Hot on the heels of releases from Tom Shorterz, Bodhi and DJ Haus, Rinse continue to roll them out and present their latest from a label favourite - Rupert Taylor a.k.a xxxy. With a back catalogue that's touched Ten Thousand Yen, Pollen, Well Rounded and Orca, xxxy is an artist who has astutely touched on many bases and evinced a serious knack for turning his hand to the variety of styles that build the broad genre of Bass music. This: his latest 'Regrets' EP stands to illustrate this knack perfectly and is a vibrant blend of analogue drums, swooning synths and thick, warm bass tones. The title track kicks things off with sharp hats galloping atop brooding chord changes before filters open up and build a thick and tense tone. Tense, jarring stabs push progress forwards before 12049 drives a rubbery and reverberated kick under softly warped synth tones and stripped but purposeful percussion. Over Peover then sits a panned synth string circling atop tough, crunching percussion and a propulsive synth riff. A rich, heart-rending bass tone is driven in beneath ahead of a rapturous, elongated breakdown that wraps up another coup for Rinse and a solid addition to the catalogue.

It's the collaboration we've all been waiting for! The careers of both Catz N Dogz and Eats Everything have been intrinsically linked since the Polish duo debuted the incredible Mr Edible via his agenda-setting 'Entrance Song' on Pets in 2011. Their relationship was compounded by dirtybird dynamics; both acts sitting on the fringes of house and techno, neither side shy of the rich taste of bass, the work of both Eats Everything and Catz N Dogz has always sat side-by-side.... But never together. Until now. Finding time in their hectic international DJ schedules, amid releases on the likes of Hypercolour, Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, dirtybird, Defected, Mothership and Pets the trio have collided to conjure up two of the most distinctive house tracks of the coming season. Tried and tested in their sets throughout the summer they're finally ready to unleash them on you. Care to take a suck on their 'Stinky Lollipop' Described by Eats Everything in a recent interview as 'heads down, hands up", 'Evil Tram' is a thunderous slab of feel-good. Slinky organs pierce the chop-slapping rhythm as more and more elements are introduced; a sexy female vocal loop, hip-snapping percussion, crucial speed garage laser gun bubbles and an almighty drum crescendo on the build. A timeless, jacking brew with subtle nuances of party insanity the execution is so natural it's hard to believe it's their first collaboration. Up next: 'Where House'. From the moment the staccato vocal hit and tight rolling percussion fires out of the speakers you'll understand the title's reference. A Hardy-hard rhythm with shades of Detroitian tech gnarliness; it's the perfect foil to the vibrancy of 'Evil Tram'.

A couple of months after the release of Sweet Nothings, Dapayk & Padberg are once again treating the vinyl-
heads amongst us to a 12" consisting of a sunny selection of the albumís core material, just in time for spring.
Kicking off the A-side, "Berlin Summer Nights" is nothing short of an anthem: classic rave sounds of epic
proportions glide through an arrangement of bouncy beats, crisp percussive work and hopeful vocals until a
powerful breakdown delivers the hands-in-the-air moment. This year, summer has come early.
Next up, "The Sun Came Up" bedazzles with a pumping beat and robotic vocals, while a progressive synth lead
helps along the trackís love lyrics, turning this into a truly stunning musical moment, which already proved its
power at Sweet Nothingsí heart.
On the flip, Dapayk & Padberg present the albumís opener, the trippy "Too Lazy". Here, weíre dealing with a rather
brooding afterhours number that is equal parts paranoid and mesmerising as a wonky bass vibrates under
dubbed out pads, eerie synths and vocal whispers. The perfect antidote to the cheery A-side!

Drawing from an acute sense of what could perhaps be described as deep-minimalism-turned-into-a-quasi-equatorial-feast,
"Full of Holes" gradually unfolds and weaves its fabrics in ways that are evocative of the disparate sensations and heady
feelings one might run into in a proto-ritualistic setting, whilst XDB's recontextualisation routes a more linear
but no less absorbing excursion.'
Cool Electro Swing Vinyl with massive tracks by Wolfgang Lohr, Arts & Leni, Tinush and the Soundnomaden. This Vinyl is an absolutely must have for the peak time. The people on the dancefloor will love it.

2014 has been a great year so far for Upon. You co-founder Marco Resmann so far with DJ-sets all over the place, a highly-praised rework for Vince Watson and a full-on solo EP on Steve Bug's Poker Flat both rocking crowds to critical acclaim whilst his very own label Upon. You is firing from all cylinders. Plus: there's a lucky bag of new and exciting things to come within the next months. This said it seems to be the perfect point in time to unveil '05:27 - Mr. Resmann's new and upcoming 12 on Upon. You featuring three tracks subtly dedicated to a loved one and aptly crafted to maximum effect. Things start on a clean, techy and well-hypnotic level with the sparse, skeletal opening tune 'Spider Web' which gives way to an ever evolving, steadily morphing sci-fi synth motif from the very start, continously creeping like lava on top of the tracks backbone built of dry bassdrums and quivering hihats steadily creating an ever growing tension with only a few iridiscent breaks providing ecstatic relief for heaving crowds on the floor. With 'Time Factor' Mr. Resmann even manages to increase dancefloor pressure by speeding up things and introducing a raw, bass heavy House feel that's reminiscent of the pounding, hollow club sound experience every punter knows - a tickling, thrilling, spine-tingling heartbeat, a steady boom boom boom percolating through every venues walls and doors, announcing a great night out that's only a few steps away. Combining this adrenaline rushing vibe with a dense, athmospheric feel and ever swelling, spiralling synth pieces contrasted by innocent, frolicking melodies is what makes 'Time Factor' a perfect late night jam for very special nightlife moments words cannot properly describe.

Debut album from Nonkeen, a new project featuring Nils Frahm
Nils Frahm and Gmeiner attended the same school in Hamburg. A mutual interest in sound recording brought them together and they began producing their own radio show which featured sounds from school, the voices of their teachers and recordings of their own instruments, all recorded on tape machines for kids.
In 1989, East German schoolboy Sebastian Singwald spent 2 weeks at their school. Frahm and Gmeiner bonded with him instantly. Their friendship grew from there.
After the Berlin Wall came down, Gmeiner and Frahm were eager to visit Singwald to play as a band. They performed their original material on fairgrounds in Pl nterwald over the summer holidays. In the summer of 1997, when all 3 members had turned 15, a disaster would halt their musical careers and end their collaboration. A performance was cut short when the chained seats of a roundabout broke off and 2 of its passengers smashed into the stage.
One victim landed feet first in the bass drum, another crashed into Singwalds bass amp. As the injured were hauled into an ambulance, all 3 left their broken instruments behind, swore off music collectively and went their separate ways.
Well into their 20s however all agreed that they would begin to play music together once again. Slowly and cautiously they began to play music again and after 5 years an album from Nonkeen was ready for the world to hear.

Northern England's Luna Records kicks off 2014 with a three track EP from Parisian artist
Synkrone, paired with Madrid's Miguel Toledano this January, entitled the 'Raw Hour' EP.
Luna Records, now onto its seventeenth release has made quite the mark since its launch bakc in 2009.
The imprint has released material from the likes of DJ W!ld, Hector, Dan Drastic and Chris Lattner to name a few, honing in on a raw, organic sound that's defined the labels output and earned it a highly praised status within the underground DJ circuit. Here the label pushes on with more rugged, low-slung rhythms, this time from Synkrone & Miguel Toledano.
Opening the EP we have 'From The Stars', a percussive-led workout fuelled by bumpy drums, rumbling subs and underlying background atmospherics that ease an understated tension into the record as it unfolds over its near seven and a half minute duration.
Following is title track 'Raw Hour', embracing a similar aesthetic with shuffling, loose beats acting as the driving force, while murmuring vocal snippets and resonant sub-bass tones add a pulsating energy to the dynamism of the cut.
Then to close the 12 the duo turn in a 'Dub Edit' of 'From The Stars', a brilliantly contrasting interpretation on the original which sees fluttering ethereal pads, echoing low-pitched vocal stabs and bubbling sweeps ebb & flow throughout the record in an ever-evolving state.

Poker Flat Recordings has been dealing out underground house music with a unique twist since 1999; from the defining debut 'Loverboy' through the Bugnology series, acclaimed albums and worldwide club hits, Steve Bug's essential imprint has unearthed new talent, developed rising stars and welcomed veterans into the fold. Steve Bug's reputation as an exceptionally gifted DJ, producer and music connoisseur is about to carry the beloved imprint to its 15th anniversary, which will be celebrated with its finest collection of raw talent yet, as seen on this second instalment of the anniversary EP series called 4 Jacks. John Tejada's 'Sweat (On The Walls)' is a stone cold minimal house classic, and it's in expert hands here with the low-down groove of Sebo K; his refix keeps it deep and sparse, but adds a nice layer of shimmy and shake that reveals a new melodic accessibility. Daniel Dexter's 'No House For Old Men' was a beautifully melodic single that lit up playlists and dancfelors in 2011, and a new remix by Tom Taylor & Gareth Whitehead adds a rich palette of melodic color and harmony paired with a rolling, propulsive beat. The other half of the EP showcases new original productions: longtime Poker Flat friend Josh Wink delivers 'Groove", which bounces with tongue-in-cheek energy and Josh's signature deconstructed acid style, while rising talent Anaxander reveals the quirky, classic deep house inclinations that has endeared him to labels like Quintessentials and Local Talk, with the lovely 'A Place To Go". Fifteen years deep, and Poker Flat Recordings is still at the top of its game.

YNK's 2nd EP for Polytone is much more than a continuation of his earlier records on Polytone and Tenderpark. Instead, the young artist wants his new EP to be seen as an autonomous work which draws on a multitude of different materials. This leads to a very fluid texture of samples, synths and drum machines and a very detailed structure at first sight - however, all elements fit into each other very nicely and make way for the bigger picture if you take a step back. The compelling main theme of 'One-Oh-One' on the a-side subtly emerges as a reprise on the b-side of this record that deals with the various forms of happiness. Between these two sits Benedikt Frey's remix of 'One-Oh-one' that creates a form of deepness rather unheard in his other productions - a kind of introverted free electronica that defies the boundaries of house and techno. All in all, 'High On Endorphin, Low On Gasoline' is an EP which may be a bit more uncommon for the sound of Polytone. Nonetheless, the label from Frankfurt is very happy to have YNK back for a stunning new record. The artwork of the record comes courtesy of Lithuanian-born artist Kristina Suvorova.

Dorisburg (real name Alexander Berg), better known as half of the Swedish duo Genius Of Time, makes his debut on Myth Music. This is the first external producer to appear on the label run by Lando and Baron Castle (Boiler Room Berlin).
Dorisburg's releases on Swedish labels Bossmusik, Northern Electrics and his own Aniara Recordings in the last year have affirmed him as one of the most hyped producers in the European game. With one original track, this bold dagger-like workout might be some of his strongest work to date.
On the b-side Lando sticks to the percussive theme of the record. However he turns this animated groove into a cold-blooded stomper, dripping in his vintage freaky style to solidify a club heavy release.
As a perfect succession to the first two Myth releases, MYTH003 gives a real impression of what the label has in store.
