A rare treat for Drumcode faithful: A-Sides Vol.10 is set to drop in December, the second edition of the beloved series to come in 2020.
Fuelled by the extra time and space to be creative during lockdown, Drumcode’s collective of artists have stepped up. Across 17 contributions, the producers have gone deeper into their sonic repertoire, crafting powerful, yet reflective works that capture the range of the label’s sound.
Jay Lumen leads the way with a rousing riff-driven weapon, ‘Galactic Rainbow’, while Ramon Tapia brings us the muscular gem ‘Drum Control’, mixing up ruffneck techno with a barrage of synapse-tickling synths in the second half. Both rousing highlights of the compilation.
Victor Ruiz, Drumcode’s most prolific contributor in 2020, dishes up ‘Love Story’, led by a huge vocal lead. Zimmz also returns with ‘Tension’, which deftly combines deep squelchy grooves with a silky synth interlude. Thomas Hoffknecht follows up his debut on Vol.9 with ‘Escape’, keeping listeners on their toes with dynamic, choppy shifts throughout. Veerus joins with another stirring addition ‘I Know’, reinforcing why Beyer rates him so highly.
Elsewhere a string of debutants feature: buzzy newcomer Lilly Palmer gives us ‘Amnesie’, a brilliantly pummelling and eerie cut; Alex Lentini & Stomp Boxx serve up ‘Expanders’ mixing up drone effects, trippy vocals and an unsettling melody line; and Patrik Berg’s ‘Activated’ is full-bodied techno that drops down into funky rhythms.
Long-time DC family member Bart Skils brings his A-game with the thrilling no-nonsense ‘Solid State’ that hits like a steam train. Likewise, Alan Fitzpatrick who brings a momentous slab of techno energy with ‘Rochus’, while Thomas Schumacher, now feeling like a regular on the imprint, crafts another dark techno opus, this time in collaboration with CAITLIN.
There’s even a special appearance by the chief Adam Beyer, who makes a welcome return with the progressive-tinged ‘Changes’, driven by organic tones and spacey atmospherics. The track stands as his first original contribution to A-Sides since 2017.

"Everybody / You Give Me" is another slamming slab of Detroit Techno from 1993 on Kelli Hands Acacia Records imprint. Kelli Hand kicks off side A with a heavy, looping monster of a track punctuated by vocal stabs exclaiming "Everybody, everybody", this is rough and tough Detroit business, an excellent DJ tool that keeps the funk strong throughout, a devastating dance-floor record of the highest order. Over on the flip we have the legendary Claude Young who turns in two mixes of "You Give Me", a futuristic sounding groove, stripped back and funky with tight, choppy drum programming and clipped vocal samples weaving in and out of the mix, this one is another sure fire weapon and featured here are the dub mix and the instrumental. This 12" has long been sought after and has changed hands for £50 and upwards on-line, this is the first time it has been re-mastered, re-pressed and re-released, all in conjunction with Kelli Hand and featuring the original 1993 artwork. An essential addition to any self respecting Detroit fanatics record collection and an indispensable record to have in the bag for any DJ.

Legendary techno stalwart Mark Broom steps up to Rekids Special Projects this February with ‘Mutated Battle Breaks’.
Continuing to run his no-nonsense techno-focussed sub-label with aplomb, Radio Slave recruits legendary UK DJ/producer Mark Broom for a mammoth eight track release on Rekids Special Projects.
Across ‘Mutated Battle Breaks’, Broom turns in eight fast paced techno rockets, each averaging three minutes in length. Short but absolutely sweet, ‘Mutated Battle Breaks’ embodies the exact kind of climbing-the-walls energy found at his DJ sets across the world, bringing his broad range of influences and experience to a label constantly pushing exceptional techno.
Releasing on labels such as Rekids, M-Plant, and Blueprint, the wildly prolific Broom has consistently been at the forefront of the techno scene for decades with his gritty, groove-based output while, away from the dancefloor, his The Fear Ratio project with James Ruskin continues to win critical acclaim.

Described by Swiss press as an “inventive genius marked by total unpredictability,” Roger Baudet’s music has preserved its freshness and spontaneity. Provoking feelings of surprise, anxiety and subjugation, he ends up bewitching you completely through his bizarre non-conformity. The oddity of the sounds is a choice of heterogeneity: the works gathered, although coming from one person, have little to do with each other. Forming a mosaic that provides a fragmented vision of atmospheres without apparent links, his music multiplies diverse rhythms and combinations, rejecting any principle of hierarchy in the musicality of the moment. The decorative music was composed as the soundtrack for theatre and ballet performances, documentaries, short films and exhibitions of paintings – a context that inevitably shines through the twenty-two pieces. Despite these classical settings, the music had a forward-facing, futuristic cadence – a precursor to the electronic genres that would later become techno or trance. This compilation from the past century is a collage of ornaments made out of sounds; stripped down, yet undoubtedly imbued with sensitivity, with hints of classical training, all suitable for contemplation.

Skatebård (aka Bård Aasen Lødemel) is warmly welcomed back to the Bordello. Following 2013´s Love in the Night comes a 12' of quite a different hue. Colour Negatives collects three brand new tracks from the Digitalo founder. The late night rave funk session of 'Fujicolor Pro 400H' spikes and spins on beams of concentrated energy. Those same infectious hooks dawn into the flip. 'Agfachrome RSX II' is bright, clean and joy filled; Skatebård delivering pure goodness to nurture any bodies beginning to flag. Paranoia and the break of day enters with 'Kodak Portra 800', a minimal two stepping demon that cuts like vinegar. Shape shifting synthesizer sounds from an artist who simply ignores genres.

As a New Era beckons globally, Manchester’s primo Manctalo merchants – Red Laser Records – quietly unveil their latest clutch of specialist space-age kinetics. A fifth-kind encounter enabling users to bridge the continuum of dance & interaction between our Earth-dwelling selves and the inter-dimensional overlords.
Containing three brand new movements in machine music from our treasured production stable of Kid Machine, Bob SwanS and Il Bosco; it also houses an honorary appearance from revered Danish spearhead Flemming Dalum, who serves up a particle-splitting redux of a lesser-known proto-techno nugget from Belgium. Dalum’s been traversing the star-clusters on his own intrepid missions for a while, so we’re mega buzzed to have him back on the RL mothership.
Stretford based synthesizer technician, Bob SwanS has been drafted in specifically by RL head Il Bosco for his advanced skills on the patch bays. “Aphelion Run Theme”, the point of which an object’s orbit is furthest from the Sun, vividly detailing in sound the journey our collective consciousness must undergo in order to reach the Highest Elders. We highly recommend utilising this track alongside Dr. Greer’s outstanding work with extra terrestrials.
KID Machine’s celebratory, vocoder-led Manctalo message: “It’s The K.I.D” is a sonic motif to our interplanetary relatives; this cybernetic b-boy’s way of spray painting the Red Laser logo over Proxima Centauri B’s subway network in neon-blue, pyroxene paint.
Bosco lets loose with one of his most impassioned creations to date too. “We Almost Lost Oddbins” previously titled: “Save Our Scene”, a universe-wide cry for help recorded when worldwide limitations on dancing and human co-exchange were at their most aggressive; its nonetheless positive outlook inviting us all to look both inward and outward for solutions in the New Normal.
Encased within a striking monolith art print, depicting the mystic energies of ancient galaxies it heralds the now widely-accepted belief that we are in no way alone in this universe and that channels of communication between more advanced civilisations than ours have already begun…

Detroit's Ali Berger returns to FatCat Records' sub-label FCR with a follow up release entitled 'Keys The Door EP2'.
After his 'Keys The Door EP1' that picked up support from the likes of Ben UFO, Artwork, Huerco S and Machine Woman, Michigan's Ali Berger returns to the FatCat Records off-shoot FCR which features releases from Cottam, DJJ and Project 223. Ali's previous releases on Clave House, Firm Tracks and Isaiah Tapes reflect his keen ear for slick, stripped back house productions that's gained the attention worldwide resulting in him being signed to FatCat and regularly featuring in clubs all over the US.
'Grease Trap' kicks things off with a wavering acid line, robust melodies and outlandish oscillations before 'Heard' drops low-slung bass grooves, emotive leads and rhythmic tombs reminiscent of early Larry Heard productions. 'Hit Piece' introduces eccentric synth shoots, bubbling percussion and glistening rhythms until 'Keys The Door' rounds things off with a cheerful house cut fusing dreamy piano chords and a stimulating drum sequence.

The debut release on Raw Basics is a split single from Basic Rhythm and Parris that reworks tracks from Basic Rhythms first LP, Raw Trax.
The A side is a VIP version of the closing track from Raw Trax, which you may have heard on dubplate in Basic Rhythm sets from the last few years. Stripping away all the drums Basic Rhythm reduces the track to a hypnotic synth line, coupled with a smattering of hi hats and the classic Rainy Davis vocal sample, before unleashing the Reese like synth line, pounding kick drums and full vocal hook.
Parris comes with a total flip of Feel Me for the B side. Starting with a slow steady 4/4 kick drum and droning horns, before dropping in a gargantuan sub bass, Parris builds and reduces over and over again, bringing percussion in and out. A sparse sprinkling of vocals and effects throughout the track, and the most minimal of melody lines, keep the track rolling with a clean and spacious, sophisticated air that only Parris can bring to the table.

Limitierte Auflage.
"The duo display a fearsome mastery of techno dynamics, but it's their detachment from that world that makes their music so compelling." - Resident Advisor
"Giant Swan seem free of pretension. They’re two punk kids who cracked the rave code by accident, and they’re having a fine time." - The Wire
"Giant Swan throw their middle finger up to genre constraints, working with their own set of rules." - DJ Mag (9/10)

Transit Valley is the debut release by Joe Coghill, a multi-disciplinary artist, musician and experimental publisher based in Edinburgh. His practice incorporates sound, video, performance, social sculpture, facilitation and media distribution. Borrowing from multiple spheres of influence, his scattered output operates from a liminal position. Coghill works in an improvised and often haphazard way, incorporating disparate field recordings, modular synthesis and other sonic ambiences to create unpredictable and ephemeral multi-layer audio-visual performances. Alongside this Coghill has been producing music recreationally in his various bedroom studios over the past 14 years.

‘Telomic Ghost’ is the natural peak of TM404 & Echologist’s transatlantic collaboration. Since their first release together in 2017 (KYN007), Andreas Tilliander and Brendon Moeller have explored their subaquatic, techno sound on a further EP (KYN010), and now this album broadens the scope with ambient cuts, slo-mo acid and dubbed-out house.
Both Tilliander and Moeller have renowned discographies of hazy electronics, under a number of aliases and with numerous collaborators. Their records as TM404 & Echologist have struck on a powerful synergy, pairing the glitchy, Roland indebted sound of TM404 with Moeller’s dub-wise headspace and striking sound design. Turn the lights down, press play and freefall into the depths of ‘Telomic Ghost’.

The consistently innovative Catch Recordings is back with a new EP from Leipzig based producer U+00C5. As always with this label, the music is right from the cutting electronic edge and finds this stylish producer blur the boundaries between ambient, dub and techno in evocative new ways.
Cult favourite U+00C5 is focussed on new musical forms, on modern sounds and redefining the European techno sound. He consistently pushes forwards and is a master of the interplay between hypnotic repetition and otherworldly abstractionism, all while drawing on dark ambient and drone. Once again here the producer who also works as Åmethyst is in fine form across all five tracks.
Atmospheric opener 'Blutdruck' is a deep techno roller that fizzes with a sense of post-industrial dystopia. The shadowy grooves are eventually backlit by subtle chords that bring real warmth and soul. The excellent 'Empfinden' is more high tempo but just as cavernous and absorbing thanks to the rolling rubber drums, distant synth drones and sci-fi motifs that add the all important details which keep your head as engaged as your heel.
The beautiful 'Taumel' is another slice of hypnotic and tunnelling techno embellished with gorgeous ambiance from the outer edges of our galaxy. 'Nichts Ist Wahr' closes things out with suspensory pads giving you the feeling that you are floating in space before the firmly rooted drums rumble on and take you into the next dimension.
This is another fascinating EP of club ready but seriously heady sounds from Catch Recordings.
After an amazing duo of vinyl releases from Jordan Fields and Vincent Floyd, Chicago Basement Trax keeps banging out the jams! The Boxed Out EP sports another lost tape from Jordan Fields with Oriental. No fake added noise here from this original 80's synth and drum machine creation just more uncut raw from JF's archive that seems to have no end!! Check out more old school and acid by jack Jeremy Williams, Italy's Giuseppe Gatti and Paris underground pushers Wondernature! Massive EP!

The A-side is all about “Accelerator” - a hyperventilating peak
time whomper of the highest calibre. Rudolf C steps in for

blinder. On side B “Exaltic” is a trademark DJ Life genrehopping hybrid burner. The closing number “Glycol” fuses

Voodoo Down Records presents the debut 12" of Melbourne-based techno producer JXTPS, who delivers here three powerful cuts of rolling big-room techno. The EP kicks off with a bang with some breakbeat fills that clear the way for heady hypnotic tension on "Become Nothing". The B-side opens with punchy acid stabs and distorted guitar chords on "Untitled 02", and closes beautifully with a creeping early-morning groover on "Mr. Pink".
PRZ strikes on eudemonia with an acid-influenced 4-track EP. The Tel Aviv based artist who runs Chateau Royal and is a resident from the oldest running party series in the Israeli metropolis called ‘PAG’ shows his darker side with a haunting blend of Italo House, Electro and Techno.

SDM003 is a trinity of percussion driven loopholes to get lost in. Taking you into the celestial numbness of space void of air – the sky is not the limit. A mindtrip into clammy and overgrown woods with droplets of nectar dripping from flourishing bloom. The whip that keeps you going. A hymn for that moment when you’re gazing at the crystal in the palm of your hand, a mystic figure whispering wisdoms of never ending energy in your shiny ear.

The Empire Line unleash their demons on 'BAS009'.
When Jonas Rönnberg (aka Varg), Christian Stadsgaard
(part of the Danish duo Damien Dubrovnik, co-founder of Posh Isolation) and noise artist Isak Hansen combine their musical vision, the result is sure to be radical.
Claiming that „the nature of your oppression is the aesthetic of our anger“ right away in the title, the four-track EP sounds like it was recorded straight from a sweaty basement.
Combining cascading rave tropes with noise, anger and punk, this release merges different underground currents. The result is a flamboyant, nevertheless harsh sound collage.

Amsterdam producer Kaap steps forward on his own De Lichting imprint with three twisted jams of deep and playful techno. The passionate gearhead, known for his dubby takes on house and techno, started his Working Titles playground back in 2017 by running a niche cassette outlet Yield on the side. In late 2018 he merged into the prolific De Lichting collective and is a frequent guest on Indigo Aera's AEX series. After many years of hard work, Kaap's new solo EP is surfacing, and it's worth the wait. Over the course of three tracks, Kaap shows high levels of creativity. The first track 'Razor' is a bouncy bass wobbler, its rubbery acid lines and crispy percussion make it an ideal party starter. Title track 'Omen' reaches for deeper grounds, a deep and murky groover enlightened by tactical bleepy rhythms. Kaap's love for dub-techno triumphs on the lengthy b-side as a closer on this EP. With over ten minutes of hazy atmospheres and mesmerizing pads, it builds and builds towards the rolling fields of euphoria.
A bridging of minds and energies, a confluence of souls and spirits. Midnight Shift releases an exclusive collaboration between Prequel Tapes and dBridge - Ionize. Cast all genres aside, as two electronic worlds collide to produce a third sonic space.
Start your engines with 'Divisible Cause' speeding and hurtling into the great atmospheric unknown. Outlier for the freaks, 'Stray Thrills' amalgamates between the classicist EBM and futurist UK bass. Stumble through 'Pleasure Systems' with light sabres, wrangled beats and gun shots ricochetting off the walls in one heady disorientation. Then wander aimlessly into the warehouse at 170bpm with 'Mindless', led by twilight tones and menacing machines at every turn.
Nur Jaber presents Planet OSF, the first instalment of her celestial series launching with a 6 track techno expedition from a collection of beautifully curated producers.
Inviting fresh talent, immensely creative minds, and friends alike, Beirut's techno import Nur Jaber drops "Planet OSF" on her Berlin based OSF imprint. Enlisting the likes of international & Berlin based producers Eira Haul, KOR, Lesser Of, Truant, Eira Haul & Luca Eck, Nur takes listeners on an otherworldly sonic odyssey.

In 2015, two remixers on their respective thrones in techno and house were contacted to rework the classic.
Matador and Shiba San both delivered compelling renditions that capture the original's darkness, paired with their unique styles of delivery.Matador's remix extends the dark subversiveness of the original, incorporating sweeping, reverb-drenched textures and ominous synth patterns. The looming mix is a sure-tobe room filler at this year's ADE. The second remix is exactly what you'd expect from Shiba San a distinctly G-house groove built around gigantic bass and a distinct sexiness that will resonate with crowds regardless of their appreciation for house music.
The package now includes a remastered version of Luke Chable's PQM Meets Luke Chable mix. We hope you enjoy this very special Yoshitoshi 20th Anniversary package.

Colombian Techno powerhouse Gotshell unleashes a barrage of his signature, twisted, bone-shaking, analogue techno bombs for 'The Draft EP' on Suara with remixes from label head Coyu and Argentinian producer Flug.
Firstly, the A side houses ‘Pears Cosmic’, a swell of glitches, thunderous kicks and rave stabs at a fever pitch pace and secondly '19 Caracteres’ a sci-fi blitz, comprised of killer drum programming, modular bleeps, zaps and urgent surges.
Flip it over to find Coyu’s reinterpretation of ‘The Draft’, reworking the drums, adding rapid-fire claps into the mix and leaving the trance stabs out for a more heads down approach. Finally, Flug takes on ’19 Caracteres’ focusing his remix around an atmospheric echoing synth line, punctuated and interspersed by the original’s glitchy sounds.

France's I Hate Models has had a phenomenal rise since his first releases in 2016, now he arrives on Perc Trax to serve up the label's last release of year.
Already fitting in with the label's no nonsense aesthetic after appearances at a number of label showcases this year, this EP shows a hardening of his sound, without losing any of the melodic touches that have made his releases so memorable.
The original mix of "Spreading Plague" fills the A-side of the record with a near 10 minute journey though classic Perc Trax metallic percussion, quivering acid and soaring analogue lead lines. Epic is a word not often used in relation to Perc Trax, but
here it is perfectly applicable.
On the flip side, Perc remixes the lead track, honing in on the acid and adding swarms of claps and hihats for his first new production on Perc Trax in 2018. "Martial Order" closes the EP moving the percussion to the front of the mix once again, as metallic hits rain down on the listener, delivering a fresh take on one of Perc Trax's signature sounds.

After Brussels 89 on Erotiques New Beats, Musique Pour La Danse stays in the 89-90 season but this time takes you to Sheffield with this Ozone Recordings mini-compilation shedding light on an iconic label whose bleeps, basses and breaks helped shape the sound of British electronic music, from acid house, to bleeps, to rave and beyond.
Conceived as a one-way ticket to the early days of the UK Bleep scene, where US and European influences coalesced to give birth to a distinctive genre, this collection was remastered by Rob Gordon (original Forgemasters member and Warp co-founder) and it comes with extensive liner notes by Matt Annis, author of the celebrated "Join The Future" book which tells the fascinating story of UK Bleep and the rise of a distinctively British electronic sound.
It will be available in limited trioxygen blue vinyl edition featuring the notorious logo from The Designers Republic! Also notable, a few tracks on this record were produced with the help of Cabaret Voltaire's Richard H. Kirk.
"It would be fair to say that this snapshot of Ozone Recordings' excitement-packed back catalogue is well overdue. The Sheffield-based imprint's contribution to British dance music's creative boom of the late 1980s and early '90s has long been overlooked, with much more focus naturally falling on the Steel City's other key imprint of the period, Warp Records. (...) Looking back, they offer a good snapshot of the time, just as this tighter, more stripped-down compilation of highlights does."
Matt Anniss

Cisco Ferreira’s seminal techno act The Advent returns to Ben Klock’s imprint this June with three distinctly turbo-charged cuts, following his release on the label’s 22nd instalment in 2018.
A pioneer of early British techno, the London-based producer began his career in the halls of the legendary Jack Trax label as a sound engineer, going on to produce cutting edge releases on imprints R&S, Tresor and Transmat. This latest Klockworks release relinquishes the sparse energy of The Advent’s live sets from the 90’s with these previously unreleased timeless live recordings. Favouring off-kilter percussion and warbled bass, all three strike hard with a distorted and visceral energy

Bjarki returns to with another EP brandishing five restructured doses of IDM from another galaxy. Using marching kick drums as a basis, oli gumm takes references from techno, gabber and trance and morphs them into something far less easy to categorise.'oli gumm 2-2' switches frantically between glistening synth cascades and bouncing kicks. 'fork2-2' is a subdued excursion through ominous, trance-inducing strings and skeletal percussion. Opening the B side, '7 filakaramellur lion bar' spirals through warped vocals and acoustic contortions, followed by 'hatann satann', a high speed voyage through a demonic parallel universe. Closing off the EP, 'sleikjó' uses rolling drums to circle around a pit of sparse sonic oddities.

CRISPR (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats) is a family of DNA sequences found in the genomes organisms such as bacteria and archaea. The discovery of clustered DNA repeats occurred independently in three parts of the world. The first description of what would later be called CRISPR is from Osaka University in 1987. They accidentally cloned part of a CRISPR sequence together with a gene that was their target. The organization of the repeats was unusual. Repeated sequences are typically arranged consecutively, without interspersed different sequences. They did not know the function of the interrupted clustered repeats.

Mause makes his debut release on npm with a stunning 4 track EP entitled ‘XOR’.
Starting with ‘LocriLogAcid Seq’ serving up soothing melodies that make you want to drift away on the dance-floor. ‘SeqTuningMlog Acid1’ proves that Mause isn’t averse to switching up tempos and beats with a powerful, trippy acid induced journey.
The cleverly structured ambient and melodically complex ‘Strimsang Baecon4’is reminiscent of early Aphex Twin with pure electronic bliss whilst ‘Sunday Multi Acid Seq20d’ is a strong finish to the EP delving deeper within the realms of electro and acid techno.

Dame-Music strikes back! Tim Taylor & DJ Slip make their debut on the label, featuring 2 remixes from label boss Bloody Mary, and a remix from Jerome Hill.
The story behind the release dates back to 1997, when Tim Taylor spent the whole year in Minneapolis. He built a mobile studio in a rental apartment and collaborated with local modular system freaks Freddie Fresh, DJ ESP, DJ Slip and Rob Williams.
Tim had been sent music from these guys for a few years prior to his stay in Minneapolis, and he was amazed by the amount of analogue gear in their studios - real exotic, rare stuff for the time. During this period they did different jams with these various systems and recorded to DAT with live mixing. In many cases, these were just sketches of stripped down tracks with increasingly unusual bass and live delays.
These recordings were planned as an alternate limited series project to Tim Taylor’s label, Missile, with the plan being to release these experiments under the name "Fear of Music." The aim was to try something beyond what a regular DJ club label could put out.
Fear of Music 01 “Pleasure Unit” was a collaboration between Tim Taylor & DJ Slip. It was originally released in 1998 and quickly became a cult track. At the time it was just a 90's analogue adventure, however it was always intended to return to work on some of these tracks at a later date.
So here we are, 21 years later. Dame-Music proudly presents the original track by Tim Taylor & DJ Slip, freshly remastered by Thomas P. Heckmann at Trope Mastering, including 2 fresh remixes by Bloody Mary and 1 by Jerome Hill.

Tokyo Hell is a techno label founded in 2018 by Tokyo-based DJ and producer Tsuyoshi Ogawa. The concept of the label is his mission of bringing back the Japanese spiritual values after the tragic American bombing during the Second World War in Tokyo. War is over but Tokyo is still hell. This 2nd EP included three dark techno tracks is a must item to survive of Tokyo Hell.
The System 108 anniversary record sums up the label's five-year work without words. The new collection is an impression of everything that the team has become during its existence. System 108 has matured nominally and stylistically, defining for itself three main directions: post-industrial, techno and break-beat, disco and house. Each of the three parts of the new collection reveals one of the musical trajectories of System 108 development: Part 1 is a dark story that covers the genres of new beat, EBM, acid, new wave, with a light touch in Goa trance by Mashkov.
Stepping up for its landmark tenth release is label honcho Juan Sanchez, who drops four slices of heavy techno funk.. Over the course of nine releases, FORMAT Records have established itself as a very credible source for quality techno. Its tenth release again perfectly captures that frisky FORMAT sound. First up is 'Serpent, a mid-tempo and bass-laden belter that's followed by the darker, minimal-tinged 'Qualia'. 'A Different Place' merges Detroit-esque elements with tones of European techno, after which things close with no-beatsall-fx 'Stubborn Synth'. The tenth FORMAT release is a perfect snapshot of the label's signature sound, while paving the way for many more good things to come..

Conduit contains moments from the last two or so years of my life. There have been a lot of trying times and ups and downs in there. These moments are the exhaust of that life. Some more subjective than others. We are simply conduits for whatever flows through our cores. We tap into it. We allow it to flow through us. Hot off the back of a contribution to A-Sides Vol.9, Victor Ruiz returns for his second EP on Drumcode.
The Brazilian artist has been an industrious contributor to DC over the past 12 months, beginning with his excellent debut EP ‘Nimbus’ last May. Since then, he’s played Drumcode Festival, was part of the iconic Warehouse Project party in November and also featured in the first Drumcode Indoors session in March. His production prowess will be fresh in the minds of DC faithful after ‘Intuit’, his collaboration with Thomas Schumacher, was a standout of the recent A-Sides Vol.9 compilation.
The ‘Freedom’ EP is Ruiz’s next offering and emblematic of the creative breakthrough he experienced while crafting the four-track work. The title track is led by hypnotic rhythms and deep bass stabs before a vox enters the fore and builds to a delicious climax. ‘Illusions’ is a pulsating bassline-led groover that builds alongside mystical vocal effects. ‘Senses’ exudes an understated touch of Detroit soul and is a handy DJ tool for varying occasions. ‘Existence’ is a searing late-night techno affair, as layers of melody and swelling pads conjure a thrilling laser-kissed atmosphere.

2021 sees EPM hit a new milestone as the digital distribution, rights management, PR company and record label celebrates 20 years of electronic music. The first part of the EPM20 celebrations sees a series of three multi-artist EPs released across the summer, each focussing on a different genre – techno, electro and house – the three main pillars of EPM’s musical heritage. Each EP features four brand new and exclusive tracks released digitally and on vinyl in specially designed sleeves.
The first of these EPs focuses on techno and presents new tracks from four of the world’s leading techno artists, Robert Hood, Ben Sims, James Ruskin and Mark Broom. The choice was an easy one for EPM, not only because of the artists’ excellent production skills but also because of a long working relationship, which includes the digital distribution of their respective labels – M-Plant, Hardgroove, Blueprint and Beard Man.
Robert Hood opens the release with ‘Shadows’. It’s classic Hood with a modern twist, as the minimal techno master segues between a tough line and delicate bells. Next, Ben Sims infuses ‘Xotnuc’ with all the upbeat energy and tech-funk he brings to his skilful DJ sets. James Ruskin then steps up, bringing a dizzying experimental edge to ‘There Was A Time’ that’s championed 25 years of his Blueprint label. Last but definitely not least is the UK techno icon, Mark Broom. ‘The Three Swords’ builds with a beautiful precision that will make you yearn for the dance floor even harder.
The second EP featuring four electro tracks follows in June, with the third, house EP in July. The compilation ‘EPM20’ will follow after the summer.

Sit tight, keep an open mind, let the balm of music surround you.
You are one of the multitude, in a collective listening act.
The nocturnal cicadas will guide your steps into Olorun’s enchanted world.
Asiento is gentle yet brave, attentive yet curious, the feeling at the start of any journey, real or imagined. You can feel a light summery breeze on your skin, accelerating your pulse: a need for exotic places. Accept it and savour it.
Tribal rhythm of the unknown, a pleasant memory of our past and the anchor to the natural world. Intrigued by a flock of birds flying high, cherish the beauty of this haven of sweetness immersed in lush nature.
Yoruba is a delicate ode to movement, a cinematic fantasy of this adventure through the jungle. Pulsing, chasing, echoing: we are fascinated by the natural world, especially because we can’t fully comprehend it. The adventurous Spirit will show us the beauty of Gaia.
Aroüagues brings in ancestral voices to chase the listener, organic percussion to create magical soundscapes. Like a sturdy shell that passes through foggy textures, this is a moving meditation. The connection with the natural world is reminded by the sound of the cicadas.
Danieli’s Amalgam is a liquid sculpture, modeled on the crescendo of this short but delightful voyage. Fog has become warm, a sense of rarefaction to come full circle, creating a twirling, bouncing sense of dance, a place where getting lost again and again. A place where appreciating the untouched beauty of this universe, in times where this seems the most difficult thing to do.

French wielder of exotic machine music Epsilove debuts a full EP of sensuous, melodic electro on Dekmantel. Formerly one-half of Syracuse, Isabelle Maitre depicts a vision of daring, yet euphoric vocal-led, dreamy electro that oscillates with sturdier, warehouse sounds full of heaving 808s, and experimental qualities.
‘Time is the longest distance’ preaches the qualities that brought Antinote’s Epsilove to the distinguished status she has today. It is the sound of chic dancers, shuffling-together leisurely under neon lights, pressing against each other along to nostalgic acid basslines, interstellar synths, and dreamy, cinematic vocals. Rich with harmony, emotion, and cold-wave sensuality. ’Sea Snakes’ pulses faster under a Drexciyan dream-state, painting kaleidoscopic motifs, as the 808 rattles out multi-paced tempos, driving levels of uncompromising Detroit velocities, through to Lynchian-mirror-world listlessness. It’s an acid-acid test of colourful, pulsing electro.
On the remixes are fellow Parisian’s Ali Bobo (Bruits De La Passion) and Shelter (Bigwax Records), who rework ‘Time is the longest distance’ into something more sinister, reflecting the dystopic IDM aesthetics of early Rephlex Records with playful, darkened electronics. The more elusive pairing of French producer HAJJ (Dawn Records) and Lastrack (BFDM) meanwhile, team up to turn ‘Sea Snakes’ into something that harkens towards the world of Warp-like experimental and progressive contemporary post-trap, and breakbeats.
"À dix mètres sous moi, l'eau invisible. Entre l'eau et la brume, pas de frontière, la brume aussi lourde que l'eau, l'eau aussi irréelle que la brume. Passage dans un autre monde, transition par une osmose où toute forme ancienne est désagrégée et dissoute.” Raymond Abellio, Heureux les Pacifiques (1946)

NYC by way of Miami, Moist 96 is a new project of Rene Nunez, mostly known through the years for his work under the name, Horoscope. Culled together from decaying tapes, bled out and dubbed one too many times over, Nunez took pieces from these 4 track demos drawing back on the music of his youth; Miami bass, freestyle and coked out funk to create this record. The lp being a raw in your face snapshot which is the musical equivalent of a pit bull being locked in a car for hours during a heatwave with the afternoon mix show on full blast.
As the artist says, "
This is not trying to be some jokey-ironic-funny-costume-campy bullshit. It is trying to be on some real illegal pre-internet bootleg rush-hour mix; 808's on blown-out car systems; cassette tapes melted in the center console speeding by Hot Wheels and Club Madonna’s neon signs; pants-shitting bass frequencies, like a roundhouse kick to your chest type shit.
If you’re tired of all this cum fast video game techno you might enjoy this project. And if you don’t, that’s cool, too.
I hope everyone keeps their head up, Releasing music right now can feel stupid and unimportant, but hopefully this record can take your mind off shit for a second and have some fun. Thanks for taking the time and listening. "

Some serious hot tracks on this fourth instalment of the Scandinavian Swords series. It breaks with its predecessors' forms. Deviating from the austere brevity that marks Northern Electronics out, Scandinavian Swords IIII: Atlas of Visions completes a survey of the label's confidants and components in the same breath as it introduces a swarm of new artists and genre-collisions. With the swell of the last 12 months behind them, Anthony Linell and Jonas Ronnberg have forged the compilation with a paradoxical formula: Atlas of Visions stakes itself as a milestone release that retains the sure-footed programming of its proprietors yet cuts a new silhouette for what the platform of a Northern Electronics release consists of. Presented across two volumes, Atlas of Visions courses through the hyper-pigmented and infectious fallout zone between club-focused works and the abstract territories of experimental modes. The release compiles egression and intensification into a pandemoniac whole, a refracting design for fractured times. Recommended!!!
Belgian DJ/Producer Ahl Iver returns to Amelie Lens' Lenske for his next EP. Following on from 2019's 'Haunted Patterns', 'Down The Void EP' begins 2021 as the fifteenth release on the highly regarded Belgian techno label.
Starting off strong is the robust 'Danger Close'. An authoritative kick drum sets the pace and is quickly accompanied by a number of jolting rave elements. High pitched echoing synths ring out and strident keys punch their way through the chaos. A modern techno-rave hybrid that blends the best of both worlds.
Continuing with force is 'Lights Out', a galvanizing rave cut layered under scattered detuned vocal samples, thundering bass and a pandemonium of drums. Ethereal keys bring a joyous emotion and balance to the track. 'Down The Void' is up next on the record, with a squelchy baseline and razor sharp hi-hats providing the foundation. An arpeggiated synth injects cunning hints of trance while still retaining a commanding techno ferocity.
Rounding off the record is 'Say Goodbye', led by a thumping kick and snare drum combination that pushes the tempo. A scattering of synth sounds build together before the lead takes hold. Once into the flow of the beat, a jolting breakdown seizes our attention. A mischievous vocal sample lingers over stabbing keys before cutting back into rhythm until close.

First Ep for the italian artist Co-Pilot! Electronics, Retrowave, breakbeat&Deephouse played with a sublime drumbeats : (the) future sound of Italy' Includes a fantastic RMX from the legendary DJ Solomon (cunz dimension Rec)
DJ Sotofett and LNS have teamed up with Tresor Records for Sputters. The double-vinyl album with 15 cuts spans a hybrid of warped electro and psychedelic hypnosis, all the while remaining fixed in an unmistakable dance release. Recorded between 2017 – 2020, and bookmarked throughout by intros and interludes dug out from archival material, it's a deconstructed yet classic compound of techno-sonics.
LNS from Calgary, Canada, is rooted in braindance, electro and acid. Releasing 12inches on both her self-titled imprint LNS and Sotofett’s Wania - LNS, whilst in the studio, has often pointed out “the lacking blend of dub and electro in dance music”.
DJ Sotofett, hailing from Moss, Norway, is among a myriad of things commonly known for the extended work of his Sex Tags Mania and Wania labels, without forgetting his afro, dub and jazz releases on Honest Jon's London.
Together both artists give space to a guest appearance by E-GZR, a fellow Wania artist, to open the Sputters journey. The sinus bending drum stutter of K.O. by E-GZR collisions flanging basses and chronic-inducing synth pads to blueprint the technoid atmosphere to come. LNS & DJ Sotofett take control with El Dubbing, evoking an effect-heavy demeanour, typical of the Sex Tags Mania soundworld that DJ Sotofett is responsible for, this time rubbing up against solid electrified rhythms. The hypnotic moods carry over to Dúnn Dubbing's deep delays, freely running over a surprisingly minimal skeleton retaining a solid direction. Crafting a warmly emotive end of Side-A with sparse rhythms to perfection.
A meaner turn introduces Side-B. Hints of electro are scattered everywhere, fat basslines, ricocheting drums and synths that mourn and drift in and out of harmony. Vitri-Oil exposes a tumbling sound design, fog-lit chords of material fragility and nosedives - with an alive mix that wallows and grows in equal measures. The side closes with Shim, a classic drift between house and techno releasing sensual euphoria with the albums first big surprise – grand strings.
“LNS wanted to sell her TR-606, while my reply was for us to make a track with the 606 sounding so fresh that she'd never even think about selling it again” Sotofett states. Side-C proves the artists to be some of the most singular producers around with album centrepiece The 606. Clocking in over 10 minutes, it kicks off as a driving techno banger, chugging bass and big chords. Midway through everything falls away, and out of the void enter scattered drums and improv piano lines emerge, while twisted dubs lead us back in an enduringly warm groove.
Side-D sets the clock back to the original electroid foundation of the album, casting fires with alien vibrations. Synchronic Bass Blort is a hard-hitting electro track, steaming sonics and thrills, its melodic hook diving in subterranean motions. On Sputtering the duo raspily beams into outer space, with fizzy motives that disfigure and dazzle while the harmonies of the closing track is for yourself to experience.
DJ Sotofett and LNS deliver an album inhabiting a world full of sci-fi sonics and fierce groove. Their sound is free and live, simultaneously wondrous and sharp.
With the 'Lucy Reworks' EP, label head Lucy, nom de techno of Luca Mortellaro, revisits four pivotal tracks from his label's peerless catalogue. In their original form, these tracks from Donato Dozzy, Caterina Barbieri, Lucy & Klock and Xhin each represent significant and deeply personal moments for Mortellaro in Stroboscopic Artefacts' history. And like the recent 'Ten Years Of Artefacts' album and the currently ongoing tour, this EP is a chance for Mortellaro to look back fondly at the label's past while closely considering its present and its future.
The release of Donato Dozzy's "Sotto Ma Sotto" in 2014 was in retrospect the moment at which Mortellaro's curatorial vision broadened to include artists from outside of the immediate early collective of Lucy, Xhin, Dadub, et al. As an icon of Italian electronic music, Dozzy was perhaps an ideal figure to fulfill such a role. His hedonistic yet sharp-eyed "Sotto Ma Sotto" is recast by Mortellaro as a twilit techno roller, as the orginal's fevered tempo is reduced to a sinister creep.
In remixing Caterina Barbieri, another beloved Italian artist, Mortellaro highlights the breaking of the barrier between experimental and club music that Stroboscopic Artefacts has always sought. His remix of "Virgo Rebellion", which was released last year on the 'Flowers From The Ashes' compilation of contemporary Italian electronic music, retains the adventurous spirit of Barbieri's gorgeous synth-driven original but frames it in a dramatic new dance floor context.
The choice of "War Lullaby" is both a reflection on Mortellaro's friendship and creative partnership with Ben Klock, and the closing of a chapter: the period in which the label's focus moved past what had come to be perceived by the outside world as the sound of Berlin techno. The original might be considered a Stroboscopic Artefacts anthem, a track of such scale a remix could be risky. But Lucy responds to the project by matching the intensity of the original while subtly redirecting its synthetic expressions.
It would have been almost inconceivable to create a project such as this and not include Xhin. The visionary Singaporean was the first artist signed to the label, and Mortellaro doesn't pass up the chance to journey back to 2009 and the label's second release, the EP that gained it an international audience. You can sense the energy he draws from Xhin's original, as he weaves a deadly synth line through the original's laser-focussed groove.
Over the years, it's been vital for Mortellaro to maintain a more backgrounded presence with Stroboscopic Artefacts, allowing the music and artists to develop without his involvement appearing too closely in the frame. This EP, however, is a chance for him to boldly toast some of the label's standout music, as Stroboscopic Artefacts marks ten years of challenging contemporary techno's conventions.

The second chapter in the Family Matters serie marks the 10th release on the Belgian record label 9300 Records. Via electro, through house and breakbeat, all the way to New Beat, established members offer you their view on the different aspects in the spectrum of electronical music. It's a nostalgic reference to the past, through the eyes of the present. Alessandro Parisi makes his first contribution to the label with an ominous New Beat influenced track, while Betonkust joins him on the dark B-side with his well known non compromising electro. A-side consists of dance-floor approved electro/house tracks of both Intimacy & Innershades and a sober, yet sophisticated anthem by the hand of Robert D.

To feel the future is to feel the fall into time. For the fourth instalment in Tresor's 'Kern' mix series, DJ Stingray (Urban Tribe/Drexciya) presents a device for decoding time in all directions, a sonic prism that refracts our senses into auxiliary components of a total future-rush.With a far-reaching selection that has been worked into his own unique form, DJ Stingray wraps our vertigo around a gritty pneumatic bump with high-velocity swing. His mixing style, prepared for hostile engagements as it is, throttles techno into counter-gravity forces. Wading through a specialised cross-section of Detroit's own dance-floor contagions as well as the contaminated feedback signals from across the global aqua plains, the mix can be summed up in just one word: hectic.Raw, caustic, synthetic rhythm-code pumps frenzy itself through a cascading geothermal fog. Never giving away the cryptographic keys, DJ Stingray works you harder than your heart, adapting your biology to a fractal timeline of viscous systems.Discovery, or uncovering, has to do with what already exists actually or virtually; it is therefore certain to happen sooner or later with enough sweat in the club. And as Kern Volume 4 attests to, DJ Stingray has the access codes and the stealth sense to make a place of a space, and to let it fall into time.Accompanying the mix is a double vinyl. The leading manoeuvre comes from the collaborative efforts of DJ Stingray and Heinrich Mueller under an exclusive NRSB-11 piece. Seven more key titles of the covert assault make up this vinyl edition.

PAWSA is a man making waves across the globe, with his charismatic style and unmistakable flair in commanding dancefloors. Cue PAWZ013 - two club ready, vinyl only weapons that clearly demonstrate PAWSA's power.
Kicking things off, the A side houses 'On Yer Feet' showcasing a beautiful simplicity in PAWSA's production, proving that when every element works in synergy, there's no need to clutter a mix. Marrying a rolling beat and crisp percussion with a bass weight that drives the track, the foundations are laid for an infectious, mantra-like vocal to capture minds and move bodies. The vocal breakdown is destined to be the catalyst for fabled club sit downs the world over, with the drop providing sure fire hands in the air euphoria.
On the B side a brooding, machine evoking bassline and thumping kick are complimented with claps and hats that cut right through in 'For The Few'. Adding in off beat synth stabs, the combination with the mechanical bass is bound to draw dancers into a trance inducing state.
Two heavyweight club tracks destined to do damage, from one of the rising stars of the scene.

Subosc announces a new vinyl release by Tin Man & Foreign Material.
Born in 1978 and raised in California, Tin Man started releasing records in 2004 and established his reputation as a solid techno producer, with impactful releases on labels such as Acid Test, Killekill, and Pomelo.
Foreign Material has a Conservatoire and History background, which shaped his interest in dark atmospheres and techno music. His spirit of techno is a mix of ancient myths and futuristic visions. He is known for his releases on Curle, Norite and Supercinema.
Together they deliver a multi-faceted collaboration with 3 original tracks that provide a lush, hypnotic, mysterious, yet enticing voyage that spans across the functional and mental spectrum.
The narration is intense, at traits metaphysical and dramatic, and always evocative.
From a technical perspective, the artists provide an interesting blend of monophonic and polyphonic synths with percussive elements.
Delays and reverbs also play an important role, adding an interesting density and spatial awareness to the ground structure.
The percussive modeling is precisely coordinated with the synth action, leading to a peculiar form of ritualistic techno with stargazing effects.
In addition to the original tracks, Claudio PRC provides an impressive signature ambient techno reinterpretation of "Drowning" with an evolving and energetic yet atmospheric attitude.
A special artwork hand-designed by Paw Grabowski complements this full cover vinyl release.
The EP is a true timeless collector item available as a limited pressing. Don't miss it!

SLV's "Berlin. A Portrait In Music" album on Soma receives a string of remixes from Setaoc Mass, Stanislav Tolkachev, Conforce, as well as a VIP mix from SLV himself.
Hailing from Berlin, SLV is well respected for his melancholic sound design and crystalline soundscapes having released on labels like Ilario Alicante's Virgo and Slam's Soma. Following the release of SLV's ambient "Berlin. A Portrait In Music" album, Slam's iconic label has invited a powerful selection of techno producers to reimagine a handful of tracks; Figure, Clergy and Work Them Records producer Setaoc Mass; Ukraine's master of mind-bending techno, Stanislav Tolkachev; and also Delsin regular Conforce.
"Dust" by SK_Eleven founder Setaoc Mass brings melodic flare with enveloping synths above dark rumbling lows, before SLV's injects some energy into "Talking With The Shadows" with his own Rave Mix, incorporating moody tones and slow flowing arps with dark cavernous reverb. Krill and Mord artist Stanislav Tolkachev then offers a steady beat with euphoric chimes and vinyl hiss for his stripped back "First Day In The City", preceding Dutch artist Conforce's "Forest Voices" which balances unearthly sound design and a steppy drum pattern.
Next up on Falling Ethics' sublabel Moral Standards is the young and promising Uncrat. The "Exclaim EP" is a perfect example of how techno is constantly evolving and shows us where it's going. With touches of trance and a seriously hard remix by P.E.A.R.L. this slice of contemporary techno will surely find it's way into many a record bag.

IT’S RAINING TRACKS : After three successful collaborative releases on Mama Told Ya over the past few months, Anetha quenches our unquenchable thirst with MTY-EAU, a brand new compilation: 4 vinyls, 16 tracks, 18 artists - one madly diluvian project featuring Varg and Croatian Amor, UFO95, Anetha, Tommy Holohan, X-Coast , EMMA DJ, Less Distress, Sugar, ABSL, Quest?Onmarc , Ryan James Ford, ISAbella Le Dom, FAKETHIAS, Rhys Jelson, Jardin and Certain Smith
Entitled "L’eau repousse les feux agressifs", it will be the first of a series around the four elements. Source of inspiration, Water teaches us acceptance. It completely flows in this first opus, as into the spirits - in "quarantine" at that time - of the guest artists.
No sluices, zero dams and a lot of free time, the opportunity to dare more... experimental streams. Mama Told Ya is therefore innovating, although there is some for all tastes in each and every vinyl: torrent of fast disjoncted techno, cloudburst of acid, trance and hyper-saturation, downpour of experimental or even electronic-rap vocoder…. RAIN. ON. ME.! To be savoured chilled at home or boiling, in a club.
The artwork has this time been entrusted to visual artist Karin Kimel, who delivers a version of the world through an aquatic 3D prism in which only the fragments of a boiling underwater volcano remain.
With a profoundly dramatic intro, « Bully » immediately immerses us in the icy Scandinavian waters, on the verge of hydrocution. An epic, almost mystical opening, heralding the impending flood. Water then, in all its temperaments, under all its temperatures, spreads everywhere, throughout the listening, sometimes soothing, sometimes thundering. Under pressure in « EXTREMELY URGENT », it even becomes irrepressible. Next follows a demented race set to submerge everything. Open valves and sinks, overflowing swimming pools, flash floods, storms and tsunamis, endless monsoons, melting ice and glaciers… It is ultimately a liquid world, entirely drowned under water that we find in « 5th generation », outro of a new genre which invites to reinvent the future, and why not Mama Told Ya’s future.
It’s hard not to hear in this aquatic odyssey an ecological warning, a call (back) to Nature.

An abundant EP of Charlotte de Witte, presenting four carefully crafted tunes, both for peak time and beyond.
Title track Vision is on the prowl, baring its gnarly teeth only for flashes at a time. Even more menacing seems Out of Balance‘ a haunting tempest forming and ready to break loose at any moment.
Kangding Ray surprises on the flip, his tribal stomping remix drawing a whirling vortex, breaking into realms of celestial and colorful trance. Unthoughtful reveals de Witte‘s emotive side, the cinematic stepper perfectly closing out her first release for Figure.

Less than a year after Botanical Illustration takes patience and Skill EP, Giovanni Natalini aka CO-PILOT, comes back on Simona Faraone’s label, New Interplanetary Melodies, with the Green Machine album, which is its natural prosecution: inside it we also find the three tracks previously published by the same label in audio cassette format only (NIM001- MC).
Green Machine is a concept album, which takes up and develops the ecological issues already treated by the artist in his previous work, namely the increasingly tricky dichotomy between nature and machine and the harmful impact of humans on it.
The A side opens with the already published Botanical Illustration takes patience and Skill (A1), an 8 minutes suite in which the powerful Live drum breaks are perfectly combined with synths and vocal samples, transporting us to the tops of exotic mountains, to continue with the ecstatic Himawari (A2) that sounds like a “desert session” made on Mount Fuji, for a result of pure musical mysticism and finally, Mother Love Nature pt.1 (A3), a track that takes us back to more familiar territories, winking at the most experimental British trip hop of recent memory and Mother Love Nature pt.2 (A4) characterized by a background of modular synths and nature sounds effects that precede Giovanni’s powerful drums, underlining once again this perfect fusion of organic and synthesized sounds.
Side B opens with the psychedelic choruses of Dancing Like Fela (B1) supported by synthetic arpeggios and a frenetic drumline sounds like a breakbeat. Continuing along this side, we come to the unsettling use of vocal samples on the beautiful Halo (B2), the ethereal and danceable art-pop of Lost You - In Translation - (B3) to conclude with the evocative Playing the Zurna in Ulan Bator (B4), a track with a pressing rhythm and elegant arrangements that once again underlines Giovanni Natalini’s mastery in mixing sounds and suggestions that are apparently far away but that always find the right place.
Green Machine sounds like a valid attempt to finally find a “solid” balance between humans and nature, but it also demonstrates how the continuous mixing of sounds is the most effective way to escape from the homologation that is increasingly widespread in contemporary society.
Another Repeat Repeat Repeat outing, another ILK reissue. EP 3 was licensed along with Four Freqs EP to round things off. This time breakbeats dominate over the 4/4 patterns with the help of "Phase 2" and "Qwerks", but "Vicious" reminds us that linear grooves are still in the game.

There's no denying it, we're thrilled to present the next release on EPM Music - a double-header from the M-Plant master himself. Further still, for the first time this EP unites Hood's two dancefloor personalities on a brand new release. With one track as Robert Hood and the other under his Floorplan alias we certainly get the best of both worlds.
Off the back of his comprehensive celebratory compilation, 'M-Print: 20 Years of M-Plant Music' and a gruelling gig schedule, the fact that Hood still finds time to make astounding new music is testament to his unique talent and drive. After all it's a calling for this maestro.
'Shaker' immerses you in those late-night moments when Robert graces the decks. It's pulsating and hypnotic; stripped-back to the essentials. The beats, the groove, the perfectly placed vocal snippet - nothing is superfluous here.
Robert's Floorplan touch is all over 'Ritual'. A shuffling Chi-town flavour, trademark hi-hats and a beast of a bassline underlies the track, with elegant synths that build to dizzying heights.
This is certainly one release that deserves a double-A-side tag.

''To celebrate the fifteenth release of the ÆX series the Amsterdam label presents a special collaboration with Delsin Records. ÆX started back in 2017 as a white-label offshoot from the Indigo Aera imprint, Jasper Wolff and Maarten Mittendorff had a plan to create a platform with a mix of like-minded unknown, well-known and admired artists. This no-nonsense approach with stamped white labels and uncredited tracks quickly grew up to be one of their most committed projects to date.
Four years later and fourteen releases in, ÆX015 is a special split EP in collaboration with the closely related Delsin Records. Both labels invited three names to present a fresh and dancefloor focussed pack of grooves and moods.
On ÆX's a-side, three familiar faces Taupe, Emeline (also known as the Parisian artist Molly) and label curator Jasper Wolff bring their warm, acidic, bass-heavy grooves in typical fashion. The b-side comes from Delsin who introduces three new artists to the team. R.O.W.S from the Swedish sewer sender crew going in with a miles-deep dub-techno take. From Barcelona, it's Annie Hall with an emotive blend of her crispy electro. As the cherry on top, there's Berlin-based Japan producer Yone-ko wrapping up the pack with grooving hazy house moods.''

Soma proudly present a very special label debut from Berlin based Modig with his "Latissimus EP"; 3 powerful and dangerous dance floor weapons backed with a fearsome Blawan remix. Resident at festivals & clubs in his home of Berlin, Modig has been hard at work in his fully analogue studio whipping up pure, raw techno showcasing what is sure to be a talent of the future.
UK don Blawan opens the EP with his interpretation of title track "Latissimus". His unique, funding sound is prevalent from the outset as he turns in a proper jacked up and furious rendering. "The Way It Breaks" is a fast paced, stripped down dance floor pounder. Simple yet effective drums and rhythms lead the way as pads create the depth. The original version of "Latissimus" opens the flip side with it's beautiful yet haunting pads atop hypnotic, grimey vocal slices and jacking beats. Pikes closes out the release with its caustic rhythms and looped out beats creating a real driving and percussive laden track.

The Portuguese scfi maker Nørbak is back home after his "Faktor EP" from January 2019. These non clubbing days look like the perfect scenario for listening to long distance works, so here you have this brand new album to enjoy at your private soundsystem.
"Flesh to Ashes" will be released both physically and digitally, with an extra track on the downloadable version.
Nørbak is well known for his precision and deepness, always pushing forward production wise, focusing on the details and sound design aspects.
The album gravitates between beatless cuts, broken beats, profound exercises and virtual dancefloor weapons.
"Intro" and "Camera" (the extra digital track) belong to the first category, "The third morality" is the broken cut, "Flesh to ashes" and "Land of sin" explore the deepest side of techno and the rest of the tracklist is about peak time tracks.
The overall feeling while listening to this album is travelling out there where no gravity is the mood, swinging among stars and constellations, landing on undiscovered planets... a landscape with no viruses or facemasks or repression.
A collection of a-temporal tracks that will surely pass the test of time and be ready to be playable whenever this nightmare ends.

Veteran German duo and masters of the deep TIEFSCHWARZ bring an infectious double header to Suara complete with remixes from Sinfol and Marco Faraone.
‘Some Thing’ opens up with a saturated big room belter. An intensity built through analogue weight, sonar pulses and glitching synth sounds trade off against fiery cymbals and peppered rim shots. That enigmatic vocal reverberates through the ether, giving an deep and mysterious touch to the track.
Next up, ‘Thinking Of You’ treads a more cerebral path, twisting it’s way through the mind with surging yet soft pads, fizzing rides and siren-like swells. Sci fi tuned vocals add a touch of dystopian darkness to this intergalactic treat.
On the B side, Sinfol steps up to turn ‘Thinking Of You’ into a harder hitting industrial bomb complete with throbbing strings, monstrous synthlines and firecracker percussion, distorting the vocals to add even more menace. Finally, Italy’s Marco Faraone takes ‘Some Thing’ into roller territory with a mesmerising groove powered by a thumping kick that works magically with that mystifying vocal.

A work 12 months in the making, Adam Beyer continues his exciting series of collaborative EPs, teaming up with heavy-hitters Pig&Dan for an multi-faceted four-tracker.
Chances are up if you spied Adam Beyer in an airport departure lounge over the past 12 months, he'd have his head buried in his laptop, immersed in creating sound sketches.
A long-time fan of collaborations, the Drumcode chief has been on an inspiring streak of form lately, teaming up with the likes of Mark Reeve, Dense & Pika and now Pig&Dan. The results have been compelling, to say the least.
In trademark perfectionist Beyer style, the title track 'Capsule' - a
shimmering slice of techno - involved "around 15 different versions" the track rigorously road tested by the Swede and featured in episodes of Drumcode Radio to test dancefloor reactions, before finally getting the sign off.
'In Love' is a big room techno groover, driven by crisp drums and the kind of evocative vocal effect that'll have hairs standing on ends.'Atmosfear' is true to its name, centered on a menacing synth line and gritty percussion, its deep kicks and subterranean bass combining superbly to create a heady dancefloor brew. 'We Are E' is propelled by a catchy synth hook and a classic call-to-arms vocal, which tips its cap to the artists' shared love of classic UK rave.'Dan's a cool cat. Early in the piece I found out he actually played a role in producing an early Stone Roses album - they're one of my all-time favourite Brit Pop acts. He also used to be an old drum'n'bass producer for many years in London throughout the '90s. If you listen to the track 'We Are E', that's very UK rave inspired.
That's common ground we both have, as I was heavily into D&B and jungle. We spent a lot of time talking about old records and samples. It was fun finding out we share similar interests." - Adam Beyer

Alleged Witches debut album breaks down centuries of human labour into an eight-part instruction manual for company best practice, stock control and tips for the optimum commute. The final break from nature, it's Pagan funeral marches, insect rhythms and doomed ambience for one last trip up the river. Artwork from Bill Connors.
Doug Lee returns to the label under his AN-I moniker, this time collaborating with prolific Greek producer Unhuman on a new four track ep. This is what happens when you take all the right elements of techno, punk and industrial music and smash them together; a fucked up and devastating hybrid of blistering modern electronics. Heavy, but not stark by any means, Lee channels his inner Liasions with his vocal performace through the record. Most notably this is heard on the cut Entschuldigung, snotty laughs and scattered barks accent the stuttered drums and ms-20 feedback; Lee bringing it all together in a sarcastic funked up fashion. Five to Nine sees both producers complimenting each other expertly, clocking in with the most "dancefloor" cut on the ep...a twisted five minutes of screaming psychedelic dance that reaches an epic anti-climax of sorts. A true hit for those who know how to use it right, not to be missed.

AUX88 did it......They Brought the first of the Mad Scientist Cd Release tracks from there pivotal LP. Finally original mixes on vinyl. AUX88 proves once again not only are they one of the best live bands in electronic music, but one of the genres funkiest groups in the world......continuing where Cybotron and Drexciya left off to a style all their own. Aux88 along with Drexciya single handily brought the electro genre back in the late 80’s
1) "Voice Modulation"- Vocals are what set Aux88 apart from everyone else; the beat is dark and precise with thumping bass line.
2) "Mad Scientist"- K-1 on vocals shows you why they loved making this LP and tour everything was used on these tracks analog and digital........................Mad Scientist they have created a true masterpiece. The Lp was dedicated to the late James Stinson

Beyond Space And Time is the new record label from Japanese music festival, Rainbow Disco Club (RDC). RDC has been welcoming music loving people to Japan for over a decade. Throughout the festival's history, the organisers have been fortunate to collaborate with amazing performers and DJs who’ve provided a beautiful dancefloor year in, year out. These relationships have lead RDC to start their own label, and they are now given the opportunity to reveal one of the best-kept secrets: What is in a DJ's record bag?
This time around, festival regular DJ Nobu kindly opens up his collection, and shares the music he loves with us all. On visual duty we welcome Senekt - his representational yet contemporary drawing illustrates the emotion we feel from DJ Nobu.
DJ Nobu selects Pan Sonic's epic Lähetys /Transmission, for this limited one sided 7". It is the first time this track has been released on vinyl. The release is meant as a preview to his forthcoming vinyl compilation from DJ Nobu - a 2LP voyage that navigates much of his musical background, and includes all time favorites.
DJ Nobu describes the track this way…
"Electronic music has existed for decades, and if you are to choose some of the best from all scattered & hidden pieces, Pan Sonic's 'Lähetys / Transmission' must be considered. The track emerges beautifully - breaking structures and transcending the past. Every layer of the piece is produced with such delicacy and care, that as a whole it magically drags you into the world of the unknown."
We have much more music to come in future from artists and DJs that we trust and respect.
Is Still’ klingt erstaunlich kohärent.“.

F.T.V. Rec. is a label run by JenZi, based in Baden, Switzerland dedicated
to dirty beats ranging from classic house to hip-hop.
The Beat Poet is dropping 4 cuts of lyrical patterns and mad wizardry on
JenZi's 'From The Vaults' label. Following Sneaker's EP's of 'Meet The
Heat' and 'Rhythm Composer', we have here another exercise in drum
programming and syncopated rhythms. Groove and acid. Drama,
culmination and relief.
'Beat Goes On' is an 808+303 jam with long-term collaborator and
solder-king Jacob Korn. Sneaker gave the message a voice - with a classic
acappella from the Orbit.
Exploiting the classic Dancemania drum machine, 'Dr. Rhythm' dazzles
you with a doubletime kick, triplet toms, tropical cuíca screams and
scratches - and when you just begin to find yourself again, it slaps your
red cheeks with more whipping snares.
'Wild Pitch' is again an 808+303 jam – this time with Dresden's old school
legend DJ Smiley. The track pays tribute to and re-interprets DJ Pierre's
Wild Pitch sound from NYC's Strictly Rhythm period. The closing track
'Feedback' switches TEE-styled Latin rhythm box variations while
layering a feedback progression ranging from subwoofer lo's to ear
piercing hi's. Flip it over! Feed it back again!

Samo Records' second release comes from Australia's Tunnel Signs, who has previously released on Cutters Records, Nein Records, Days of Being Wild, to name a few.'Ultraviolet,' a ready-for-the-floor collaboration with Moderna (Ghostly, Lumiere Noir), blends a stick-in-your-head vocal with hard electro for radiantly retrofuturistic results. 'Carbonate' emanates classic industrial vibes with a heavy, pumping bassline and soaring, melodic synths. The Markus Gibb (RTTB) remix of 'Ultraviolet' strips the original of its prominent synths while adding a healthy dose of slinky, hypnotic beats and dissonant samples. WT Records' Willie Burns turns 'Carbonate' into a big-room-rave anthem: driving rhythms punctuated by noisy squelches under heavy synth loops.

Unknøwn Assailant is a limited run vinyl only label shrouded in mystery. Each of the four tracks on the first release touches on a different style of techno ranging from cinematic acid of “Forgiveness But No Surender” to the peak time energy and in your face style of “Silent Scream”.
Incorporating the dark and stripped back minimal style of “Whippet” along with the clunky dance floor groove of “The Sickness” it is a well-rounded eclectic package that fuses analogue textures with ambient moods and bursts of energy.
Each of the tracks have been made in collaboration with an artist who wishes to keep their identity a secret, so the music does the talking for itself. Unknøwn Assailant pins the release together featuring on each of the collaborations, and the four Silent Assassins range from artists known for their top selling releases on well-known labels to others lesser known in the realms of techno.
This release is limited to a vinyl pressing of only 200 copies with more in the series of secretive releases to follow in the coming months.
