This is the very first and only single artist EP from Tone DropOut. This EP is the work of TDO co -owner DAWL. DAWL has put together four big dance floor electro bangers , that we felt should not be separated.

Each track shows off DAWL's skill, knowledge and love of electro, anyone who loves new and old school electro will love this. We have the big bass lines, the beautiful big deep synths and pads, bleeps and buzzes and that classic electro beat, and topped off with some cheeky sampled voices.

The title Track -Total Annihilation kicks off with its strong electro breakbeat and popping bleeps, going in and out, then comes the big fuzzy bassline and cinematic strings swooping through the track moving all the time, will get any dance floor going.

Track 2 infiltrator has those great claps over the electro beat before we get the busy bassline and the bleeps and buzzes and that driving synth, constantly moving .

Track 3 is Kaotik and that exactly what it is with its wobbly bleeps and whistles and pumped actioned bobbly bassline true electro.

Track 4 the final track on EP as strong as the others with its basslines and bleeps and strings and synths caps off this EP nicely.

SOULMEEX record label marks its first anniversary in November 2025 with a milestone release: the label’s debut 7-inch. This special edition offers a new opportunity to expand its catalogue of forward-thinking sounds while honoring the timeless spirit of vinyl.

For the occasion, SOULMEEX presents signature tracks from NYC-based artist Evan Michael, whose productions balance depth and groove with finesse. On Side A, “Drifted Past” flows with hypnotic textures and steady momentum, creating a journey that bridges nostalgia and modern club energy. Side B, “Total Fiction” reveals a darker, more intricate narrative, weaving subtle rhythms and immersive layers that highlight Michael’s skill in uniting experimentation with dancefloor appeal.

Effortlessly charming, inquisitive and generous in spirit: 'Total internal reflection' is the beautifully crafted debut album from DJ ojo, returning to Blank Mind, following his acclaimed 2023 EP ‘Coiled up’.

The vivid sound design, irreverent flourishes and elastic rhythms of his past work remain, yet here he leans further into his enduring love of house and techno music. An impressionistic take on the forms, with a light, considered touch that allows his idiosyncrasies to shine through. There’s a synaesthetic quality here, that implies a gestural play between sound, colour and form.

It is functionality that is the key embrace: eight tracks, two discs, two tracks per side. A cohesive body of work purposefully presented to be played out. These guiding principles complement the uniquely skewed style of ojo: there’s always a groove, but it might trip over itself; there’s always a sense of cohesiveness, but it’s never clear; there’s always a dancefloor, but it’s slippery when wet.

The record features art by photographer Thomas Steineder, who interprets the record visually, by bouncing light through analogue film wrapped around a prism, capturing a reflection turned inward.

With ‘Total internal reflection’, ojo has somehow become even more himself, refining his vision into something playful, profound and enduring.

JÖRG BURGER also has a table companion, the extremely talented Irene Kalisvaart, and remixes himself on top of that. REINHARD VOIGT points out that money never sleeps and proceeds according to the motto: ’​Zahl an einem anderen Tag (Pay another day​)’. Our Brazilian whirlwind GUI BORATTO returns after a long absence with the banger ‘Panorama X-Press’. After careful consideration, ROBAG WRUHME has named his new track ‘Total’ and sings in the chorus with his family for the first time. WASSERMANN contributes an ultra-fat remix of Mayer’s ‘Brainwave Technology’, while MICHAEL MAYER himself marvels at the rare ‘Erdbeermond’. HARDT ANTOINE’s ‘Let Me Go’ really gets the party going again before WASSERMANN orders a large taxi and skips out on the bill.

Hello 24! Nice to have you here. 23 is so yesterday, so over the top, really. Well, we’ve been dancing the following dances recently. What about you?

What lasts a long time usually turns out well. Having admired TEE MANGO from afar for many years, our A&R Michael Mayer took heart and invited him to this year’s TOTAL. “So In Love” is in the best tradition of the KOMPAKT minimal funk of the early years. We are delighted to have this lovely Englishman on board!

REINHARD VOIGT has always placed great emphasis on loving animals. On the track with the unsurprising title “Der, der mit dem Gummiball sang (Orange)”, he lets whole hordes of different four-legged friends and poultry on the microphone. Hopefully the stench will dissipate from the studio.

When Rhenish cheerfulness meets holiday anticipation, the result is something like this Hawaiian shirt turned music called “Chee-Caruso” by JÜRGEN PAAPE. No animals were tortured for this piece either, even if it sounds like it.

We stay in the realm of fauna and turn our attention to London’s award-winning pedigree dog REX THE DOG. “Laika” is a heart-warming ode to the mongrel dog of the same name, who was the first living creature to make it from the streets of Moscow into space. She would have loved that bleep.

A little-known fact about MICHAEL MAYER is that he is one of the fastest crossword puzzle foxes on the left bank of the Rhine, always in relentless rivalry with Wolfgang Voigt, who thinks he is even faster. The big battle is yet to come. Uninvited guest with five letters? “Urian”.

As an integral part of the family, JONATHAN KASPAR is of course not to be missed. “Are You” celebrates the kind of early morning rapture that is commonplace at his new DJ venue, the brand new Cologne superclub FI. Everything is so colourful here.

SASCHA FUNKE takes a bow to one of the greats of German showbiz with the trippy electro smasher “The Heck”. Born – like DJ Koze and Barnt – in Flensburg, died in Berlin in 2018 and wore glasses. More will not be revealed.

More emotion, more love, more sing-along factor? Si, claro! ARGIA’s “Love Keeps You Running” masterfully combines groove and pop – a blend that sounds very familiar to us. She may be at home in Madrid, but there’s Cologne DNA in her somewhere. We’re sure of it.

Let’s meet the legends, the veterans! JÖRG BURGER is still in a psychedelic mood in 2024. That suits him, that’s where he needs to be, that’s where we want him to be. A parallel universe is conceivable in which such music is affectionately called Goa.

Before going to bed, the WASSERMANN reads us a fairy tale from the Arabian Nights. At the same time, we focus on a point between everything, but really everything, and absolute, stark naked nothingness. 3, 2, 1… Let go.

Tierliebe wird im Hause REINHARD VOIGT schon immer groß geschrieben. Auf dem Stück mit dem nicht weiter verwunderlichen Titel “Der, der mit dem Gummiball sang (Orange)” lässt er gleich ganze Horden verschiedenster Vierbeiner und Federvieh ans Mikro. Hoffentlich zieht der Gestank wieder aus dem Studio ab.

One of the most respected British bands in the mid 80's post punk era, Sad Lovers & Giants played highly atmospheric music made of melancholic melodies and epic guitar riffs. Originally recorded for a radio broadcast in Holland in 1983 in front of a very selected audience (10 in all) »Total Sound« represents a great snapshot of SLAG live on stage. Here, the band delivers an outstanding performance based on a fine selection of songs from their first two now classic albums. Recordings caught just before the split.

Written during a month-long residency with Intonal Festival in Malmo in 2019 and later recorded at The Glue Factory in Glasgow, Dappled Shade is Total Leatherette’s fourth album.

Amsterdam Italo Diva and art phenomenon Maxime Duvall is back!

She releases a new smashing TOPHIT “Creatures of the Night” on her brand-new label “Disco Total Tophit Records”.

This first release is produced by Machinegewehr and comes as double A-side with an intense Italoconnection remix on the flip side.

Maxime Duvall is known for previous hits “All Night” and “Raining in my Heart ” released on the Bordello A Parigi label. Her outstanding and hysterical sing-along performances made her into a local celebrity with a huge fan base via her Disco Total parties. Her new label “Disco Total Tophit Records” aims to combine the best Italo Disco with visual- and performance art.

With “Creatures of the Night” Maxime Duvall brings a melancholic and energetic Italo Disco inspired song with her trademark lyrics and an extremely catchy chorus. The song is driven by a solid arpeggiated bassline and builds up into euphoria with melodic and lush synthesizer melodies.

On the flip-side, Italoconnection transforms the original track in a slow-burning, multi-climaxing and ecstatic mega track reminiscent of Giorgio Moroder.

New Order are proud to announce the release of TOTAL from Joy Division to New Order on vinyl. Originally released in June 2011 on CD, TOTAL from Joy Division to New Order will be available on vinyl for the very first time on 30th November 2018.

Featuring single versions of tracks from both Joy Division and New Order mastered for vinyl by Frank Arkwright from his 2011 remasters. The iconic album cover was created by Howard Wakefield with art direction from Peter Saville.

TOTAL contains New Order's UK Top 10 singles Blue Monday, True Faith, Regret and the Number 1 single World in Motion along with classic Joy Division tracks Love Will Tell Us Apart, Transmission, She's Lost Control and Atmosphere.

New Order head out on tour in November. Playing their only UK show of 2018 at London's Alexandra Palace before dates in Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

CAVEIRAS deal in obsessive rhythms and low frequencies, infusing punk with Afro-Brazilian vibes. Their spiritual birth can be traced back to a visit to Favela Rocinha: while watching two young boys improvise a batucada with a bucket and a bin, band members became obsessed with the possibility of an occult alliance between Rio de Janeiro and Einstürzende Neubauten’s Berlin. Back home, Caveiras made a blood oath, vowing to channel the dark side of samba. Armed with an electric bass, scrap percussions and a machine-gunning sampler, they began to butcher Brazilian standards with a wild and iconoclastic attitude. Claves and rhythms of the Brazilian tradition are heavily treated through electro-acoustic techniques, dub-oriented bass lines strip melody down to the bone, while screams cross the line separating punk’s rants from Quimbanda’s curses.

Buzzcocks - Total Pop 1977-80: Rare, Live And Great Diese Compilation vereint rare Studioaufnahmen und energiegeladene Live-Versionen aus der Hochphase der Buzzcocks und zeigt, warum die Band als Pioniere des britischen Punk gilt. Mit kompromisslosem Sound und scharfem Songwriting ist das Album ein authentisches Zeitdokument der späten 70er.

Come Back Down, das neue Album des experimentellen Pop-Duos Total Wife aus Nashville, entstand am Rande des Schlafes. Wenn die Komponistin und Produzentin Luna Kupper während nächtlicher Mixing-Sessions einzuschlafen begann, folgten ihr die Songs in den Zwischenraum zwischen Traum und Wachsein. Wie Dale Cooper in Twin Peaks wachte sie mit einer neuen Perspektive auf das Puzzle auf, das sie gerade zusammensetzte. ,Ich bin eine psychologische Mixerin - ich versuche mir vorzustellen, wie jemand den Klang erlebt, anstatt mich darauf zu versteifen, all diese verschiedenen Töne zu erzeugen und all diese Geräte zu benutzen, um einen bestimmten Klang zu erzielen", sagt Kupper. Und wie eine Spirale vom Wachleben in den Traum sind die Songs auf Come Back Down endlos selbstreferenziell und bauen aus einem einzigen Punkt ganze Universen auf. Kupper hat alle ihre Synthesizer verkauft, um die Miete zu bezahlen, bevor sie mit der Arbeit an dem Album begann, und so wird jeder anorganische Klang stattdessen aus Samples der eigenen Arbeit der Band aufgebaut. Eine Gitarre in einem Song kann in dem nächsten Song neu verarbeitet und als Synthesizer verwendet werden, während überall auf dem Album Gesangs-Samples aus einem einzigen unveröffentlichten Cover von Elliott Smiths ,Between the Bars" verwendet werden. Als Hommage an diesen Prozess hätte das Album beinahe den Namen ,The Julia Set" bekommen, nach der mathematischen Gleichung, die sich immer wieder selbst speist und wunderschöne fraktale Bilder erzeugt. Die Absicht war, etwas Komplexes, aber Zugängliches zu schaffen; experimentell, aber präzise und ohne Abstraktion. Auch in ihren Texten ist die Texterin und Sängerin Ash Richter so direkt wie eh und je. Sie griff auf ihre Erfahrungen mit der Isolation während der Pandemie zurück, um über Verbindung und Trennung zu schreiben, und nutzte ihre Texte als Mittel für die Kommunikation, die im Alltag fehlte. In dem hochfliegenden, shoegazigen Track ,peaches" wurde ein Sturm, der die Absage einer Aufnahmesession erzwang, zur Metapher für emotionale Distanz. ,still asleep" erzählt von Richters Euphorie nach der ersten Tournee von Total Wife und beobachtet, wie diese sich allmählich in Paranoia verwandelt. ,Danke, Vollmond, mein Herz ist übervoll", singt sie, bevor sie fragt: ,Gibt es so etwas wie zu viel Glück?" Die Erfahrung der Isolation veranlasste Richter, an ihre Kindheit zurückzudenken, eine Zeit, die für sie von Einsamkeit und Spielen in der Natur geprägt war - auf Bäume klettern, Matschkuchen backen, sich im Wald verlaufen. In Tracks wie ,in my head" und ,second spring" nutzt sie Bilder aus der Natur, um sich an diese Zeit zu erinnern und eine Verbindung zu ihrem einsamen inneren Kind herzustellen. ,Ich fühle mich mit transzendentalistischer Literatur und magischem Realismus verbunden - dem Versuch, Dinge auf konkrete Weise zu vermitteln, aber mit einem Element von Psychologie und Mysterium", sagt sie. Richter und Kupper, Freunde aus der Highschool, gründeten Total Wife im Jahr 2016 und zogen 2020 von Boston nach Nashville. Beide sind sowohl bildende Künstler als auch Musiker, was sie durch vielschichtige und zielgerichtete Visuals in ihre Arbeit mit Total Wife einfließen lassen. Eine DIY-Ader prägt alles, was sie tun - von der Gestaltung ihrer eigenen Kunstwerke und Musikvideos über die Aufnahme ihrer eigenen Musik bis hin zur Veröffentlichung von Kassetten über ihr Label Ivy Eat Home und der Ausrichtung von Hauskonzerten in ihrem Keller, den sie Ryman 2 getauft haben. In Nashville haben sie sich in einer schrägen Szene niedergelassen, die unter dem Parkett der Plattenindustrie lebt, einem Bienenstock kollaborativer und kreativer Energie, der sie begeistert hat, die Stadt ihr Zuhause zu nennen. Kurz nach ihrem Umzug nach Nashville haben sie auch zum ersten Mal eine Live-Band zusammengestellt, bestehend aus Ryan Bigelow, Sean Booz und Billy Campbell, die ihrem kreativen Prozess eine Portion Spontaneität und Lebendigkeit verleiht, die sich auch in Come Back Down widerspiegelt.

'Total Spook' mixtape is Artetetra's homage to the forgotten cassette and CD culture of mass-distributed commercial Halloween sound effects, horror tales, and spooky music productions across the eighties and nineties.
Mainly produced in the U.S. these objects featured some of the famous names of the entertainment and commercial industry such as Prince's Dr. Fink (yes, that synth master), Elvira, the Mistress of the Dark and Hallmark as well as unknown and anonymous creatives and artists. In these tracks engineers, musicians and producers arguably had carte blanche in experimenting with extreme samples and vocal manipulation, time-based effects, extended techniques, spooky sound fonts and stock sound effects developing their unique ideas around the sound ambience of the Halloween and horror imagery's campy cliches.
After digging around 30 hours of material gathered from dedicated YouTube channels and playlists such as the ones created by 'Beetlemuse' and 'Caleb Jones', I have compiled a 100' mixtape showcasing some of the most endearing, weird and experimental sound designs long forgotten in the vaporware-like consumer culture of the '80s and ‘90s.

Foals ‘Total Life Forever’ is now available on recycled blue vinyl.

Originally released in May 2015 each record is a unique blue colour. Final product delivered may differ in colour from the image shown here.

-Remaster 2025, CD enthält einen Live-Bonustrack Bloodrunner aus Illinois, USA, gründeten sich 2004, als Thrash Metal nicht gerade ein angesagtes Subgenre war. Besonders in den USA waren traditionelle Spielarten, ganz im Gegensatz zu heute, zum tiefsten Undergrounddasein verdammt. Nur die bereits etablierten Bands wie Anthrax ode Slayer, die allerdings auch mit modernen Einflüssen kokettiert haben, konnten für Aufmerksamkeit sorgen. Doch das war den frisch gebackenen Bloodrunner egal. Sie wollten ihre Lieblingsmusik spielen und wilde Parties feiern!

Die weniger perfekten Momente werden durch eine ungebändigte Energie wettgemacht, die im Heavy Metal mehr wert ist, als routiniertes Performen. Trotzdem haben die damals noch sehr jungen Musiker bereits ansehnlich Skills gehabt und verstehe ihr Handwerk. Das gilt auch für das Songwriting, welches nich nur auf durchgehendes Thrash-Geballer setzt, sondern auch auf Abwechslung. Somit ist das Album nicht nur für ThrashFanatiker geeignet. Die organisch klingende, aber dennoch fette Produktion, passt wie die Faust aufs Auge und zeigt, was bei aktuellen Alben in diesem Genre oft fehlt: Klangliche Authentizität! There are no gimmicks on Ckaos Total, just simple three and four-chord riffs, a driving drumbeat (you can guess which one), and thoughtful lyrics delivered with power and passion. Tempos vary from fast, to really fast, to ultra fast, with most songs in the latter category. Without studio effects, silly costumes, or metal chops to distract, the focus falls on the songs themselves, which distill a profound sense of hopelessness and frustration into a few defiant words to yell into the void. In their lyrics and artwork, Tàrrega 91' continues to draw inspiration from the 1991 uprising in their town that ended with the arrest of 86 young people, a history that makes them keenly aware of exactly what they’re pushing against. "Que no cunda el orden" comprises the first demos recorded by this iconic Spanish punk band in January 1982, seven original songs and two versions that would also become the band's live repertoire in their early years. Among these songs we find the only studio version of `Emilio Cao' and the previously unreleased `No me gusta bailar'. The sound of the original tape has been mixed and mastered for this very special edition. Siniestro Total were a Spanish punk band formed in Vigo in 1981. A big commercial success accompanied the band for over a decade, until the mid-late '90s, when the popularity of the groups from the so-called "movida madrileña" and other similar scenes from other parts of Spain such as Galicia, where Siniestro Total were formed, faded away. Many of their best and most popular songs, reflecting the punk and fun essence of the band, were written and recorded in the early days of Siniestro Total. This album comprises their very first recording sessions, unearthed here for the first time, when the early demo versions of some of those songs were captured. The band's lack of studio experience was balanced with tons of fun and laughter. This demo was sent to a radio DJ and all the songs were aired on his show at the most popular music station in Spain, Radio 3. In fact, the demo was awarded demo of the year (Maqueta de Oro del Diario Pop 1982). Four decades later, the sound of the original tape has been mixed and mastered for this very special release that Munster Records are honored to bring to fruition.

The title combines numerous recordings which featured on a series of demos and underground releases unleashed primarily in the more formative years since Hellripper mastermind James McBain created the band in 2014. Commencing with 2015’s initial recordings of the cult The Manifestation of Evil demo, Complete & Total Fucking Mayhem offers fifteen anthems to the dark side, with a masterful repertoire of pure, raw, unadulterated high octane blackened thrash/speed metal.

Inspired by the likes of old-school legends including Venom, Kreator, Sabbat JPN and Metallica, James McBain formed Hellripper in 2014 and with the release of the debut EP The Manifestation of Evil shortly after, the Scottish band was already making a very clear statement of hellish destruction with an electrifying brand of blackened thrash. Building on the momentum of the debut EP with a string of split releases, the debut album Coagulating Darkness was released in 2017 to media acclaim, with the UK’s Metal Hammer hailing Hellripper as “Scotland's King of the arcane mosh” & the band receiving attention throughout Europe and the US. This was followed by the EP - Black Arts & Alchemy, before an eventual deal was inked with Peaceville, resulting in 2020’s The Affair of the Poisons, leading on to 2023’s monumental breakthrough release, Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags.

Introducing ‘Total Blue’, the Los Angeles-based trio of Nicky Benedek, Alex Talan, and Anthony Calonico. Despite collaborating for over a decade, ‘Total Blue’ represents a new chapter in their artistic journey together as a trio.

Embracing chance, inviting the unknown, and guided by a spirit of sheer play and exploration, ‘Total Blue’ was driven by a desire to ‘touch the beyond’ in pursuit of an elusive vibe the three had been chasing for years.

In addition to a core band (Jake Suriano, Miranda Holt, Tali Harding-Hone, Mathias Dowle) the new record features contributions from Jack McCullagh (Cracodile), Stu Patterson (The Empty Threats/Placement), Alannah Sawyer (Babyccino/Mouseatouille), as well as Shaw’s partner Alivia Lester, and baby Blue - who also adorns the album cover. 'Wear Your Natural, Baby' war eine damals sehr aktuelle politische und modische Botschaft. Tatsächlich war Towana Ty Karim, die unter dem Namen ihrer kleinen Tochter sang. Bei dieser Gelegenheit nahm Ty unter eigenem Namen ein Cover des CB Overton-Hits 'If I Can't Stop You' auf, der hier B-Seite ist.

The Total Space sees Boa Morte edge deeper into the woods of ambient, drone and synthesised sound with little to guide them but their innate melodic compass and instinct for unorthodox song. Daniel Presley, the perma-nomadic Texan producer, flew in to safeguard the Boa Morte fundamentals: emotive yet unsentimental vocals; a disquieting ease with space and silence; percussive interventions on drum-shell, tom-rim and cymbal-cup; an aversion to rhythm guitar; harmonies that add rather than dilute personality, and a bloody-minded patience when it comes to pacing.

‘Wear Your Natural, Baby’ was a good seller when issued on Kent Harris’ Romark label in the late 60s – judging by the, at least, three pressings of it. Understandably so, as it is a captivating rhythm for a then very current political and fashionable message. Towana was in fact Ty Karim, singing under her young daughter’s name. On this flip, Ty recorded as herself on a cover of the CB Overton’s hit ‘If I Can’t Stop You’. However, Kent Harris decided to not go with this recording at the time and re-cut it with new lyrics as ‘Keep On Doin’ Whatcha’ Doin’’ as a duet with George Griffin issued in 1980 on Sheridan House. That record has become a modern soul classic over time and this alternate solo version, with the different lyrics, by Ty is sure to excite lovers of that genre.

The rather naughty Pilot label is back and ready to take you on a trip to the heart of the dancefloor here as Wodda steps up with more fresh garage, minimal and tech fusions. 'T Total' is a perfectly infectious swinger with rasping bass notes and crisp percussion that will get faces screwed up and floors pumping. 'Aphrodite Curse' picks up with more damn sexy sound designs and super silky grooves that will take any crowd for a cruise. There is some bright and old school piano action to 'With Me' while 'Keep It' then offers a turbocharged future house excursion that is all about the good times.

Following their contribution to the 2022 International Women’s Day compilation, and a co-production credit on “Dreaming is Essential” by Byron Yeates, Eoin DJ drops their first release on Radiant Records, Total Body. The 4-track EP is replete with mind-bending, lustrous tracks waiting to be spun out to sweatbox dancefloors.

“Total Body” invites movement from its first seconds. Layers and layers of snares, shakers and rhythmic synth stabs build tension before the pulse of a rolling bassline cements the elements into a cohesive hard house groove. Fragments and chops of sensx’s vocals wrap in and around the sonic field, leaving wisps of reverb and echo in their wake before repeating the track’s Total Body mantra in the breakdown. The result is a lushly-scored density of sound, with a relentless stomp that never feels overcrowded or too heavy.

Angel D’lite’s remix takes a more skeletal approach to “Total Body”: a snare and clap march beneath chiming vocal stabs, rumbling low end and rolling breakbeats, flipping the original into a modern bass-heavy hybrid number. The rhythmic synth from the original, reversed and efex’d, ushers us in, and then out of the track, around extra bass stabs and pitch shifted “Total Body” chops.

On the B side, “Ultra Soft” lifts off with a firm kick and a rolling 3-note bassline. Despite the title, the track hits harder than “Total Body” and sings with Eoin DJ signatures: swirling funnels of processed vocals, rich, ear-itching textures, stripped back percussion and rave-ready samples are sprinkled with 303s, to create a track that sits comfortably with both classic trance and techno and contemporary “Progressive” dance music.

The EP’s closer, a remix of “Ultra Soft” by Byron Yeates, compresses the astrally-inclined scale of the original track into shining slices of sound. A playful, chiming melody starts off the track alongside the kick, working through precise grooves, knife-sharp snares, a throbbing bass and chopped-up, smokey vocals. The result: 6 minutes of total embodiment from the Radiant Records boss.

Total Touch was the Dutch duo of Trijntje Oosterhuis and Tjeerd Oosterhuis that infused music with a unique blend of smooth vocals, jazzy harmonies, and funky grooves. After the quintuple Platinum debut album, the follow-up was a guaranteed success. The album is a mix of infectious R&B, pop, and experiments with rap and dance. This Way entered the Dutch album top 100 at number 1 and immediately went Gold. That year the band made their first serious attempt to take their success beyond the Dutch and German borders. The band entered the US Billboard Dance Chart and were nominated for an MTV Award. Eventually, "This Way" became the band's swan song, with another mega hit in the form of "I'll Say Goodbye". In the end, This Way turned out to be the final studio album by the Dutch duo.

2023 marks the 25th anniversary of This Way and is therefore available on vinyl for the first time as a limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies on gold coloured vinyl. The vinyl package also includes an insert.

The long sold-out ‘Random Acts of Total Control’ EP by French outfit Unschooling is now being reissued by London-based label and promoters Bad Vibrations. The five-track EP was originally released in 2021 and deals in an energetic, lo-fi post-punk that revels in calculated discord. Their chaotic ensemble of complex mathy guitar lines, dissatisfied vocals and twitchy rhythm sections have drawn comparisons to such contemporaries as Omni, Crack Cloud and Women, but all wrapped up in a Contortions-esque No Wave spontaneity. Unschooling emerged with their self-released nine-song ‘Defensive Designs’ cassette in 2019 which made a splash in the French indie scene (and is now also being reissued on vinyl for the first time by Bad Vibrations). Its follow-up, the ‘Random Acts of Total Control’ EP, solidified their reputation further afield and established them as one of the most exciting new acts in the current school of post-punk revivalists. The band have since toured heavily around UK and Europe and appeared at Great Escape, Green Man, Wide Awake, Le Printemps De Bourges, Levitation France, Dot to Dot and more. We are thrilled to kick off our label endeavors with one of the rarest and simultaneously best-recorded independently released German new wave singles in history: "Jede Nacht derselbe Traum" ("The Same Dream Every Night") by Total.

Back in late 1983, Total found themselves in a pivotal rendezvous with CBS Records in a Frankfurt hotel lobby. The entire band was present, along with the esteemed NDW manager Jim Rakete, who had played a role in launching Nena to national and international stardom. Also in attendance were the A&R representatives from CBS. It was on this day that Total was presented with the opportunity to ink an album deal with CBS. However, since they had only recorded the titular song thus far, negotiations hit a snag. CBS insisted on a full album rather than a standalone single.
Ultimately, the band decided to independently issue a limited 7" run of "Jede Nacht derselbe Traum" under Günther Mannschreck's Schreckschuss label in January 1984. These vinyl copies became the band's currency for pursuing record deals and promotional prospects. However, despite the potential to achieve commercial success and garner radio airplay, the song and the "Total" project gradually waned from the music landscape. Regrettably, only a few vinyl copies have managed to endure over time. This NDW "holy grail" may have prompted a fair share of dreams for serious vinyl collectors, as to this day, not a single physical copy has been put up for sale on platforms like eBay or Discogs. Interestingly, Maisenbacher has even fielded an offer of over 400 Euros for an original copy, although he regretfully couldn't fulfill the request due to possessing just a single copy himself.

The song itself is a fusion of diverse musical styles. Crafted using the Oberheim OB8 system, complete with the DMX drum machine and a bassline woven from a Jupiter 8 keyboard, it carried a groove reminiscent of New York's electro hip-hop sound in "The Message," setting it apart from typical German new wave productions. Additionally, a Korg Polysix was integrated, and guitar effects were layered to finalize the infectious synth-pop instrumental. Newcomer to the band, Andrea Ströbel, laid down a flawless vocal layer that steered the song towards a straightforward NDW direction, giving it a resonance that surely resonated with mainstream and radio audiences. To complete a B-side for the original vinyl single, the legendary state-of-the-art L480 Lexicon reverb was used. In the more experimental "Maxi Mix," now known as the "Dub Mix," Mannschreck expertly manipulated the machine. The outcome stands as a historical example of incredible studio craftsmanship and the cutting-edge techniques of the 80s.
For the new 12" release, Mannschreck unearthed an alternative mix of the song on the original tapes, featuring a distinct introduction, break, and exciting edits. In addition, DJ Friction, who contributed to the transfer and mastering for the release, treated us to a superb edit that cleverly melds all versions of the song while incorporating a few extra bassline groove elements.

We are thrilled to kick off our label endeavors with one of the rarest and simultaneously best-recorded independently released German new wave singles in history: "Jede Nacht derselbe Traum" ("The Same Dream Every Night") by Total.

Back in late 1983, Total found themselves in a pivotal rendezvous with CBS Records in a Frankfurt hotel lobby. The entire band was present, along with the esteemed NDW manager Jim Rakete, who had played a role in launching Nena to national and international stardom. Also in attendance were the A&R representatives from CBS. It was on this day that Total was presented with the opportunity to ink an album deal with CBS. However, since they had only recorded the titular song thus far, negotiations hit a snag. CBS insisted on a full album rather than a standalone single.
Ultimately, the band decided to independently issue a limited 7" run of "Jede Nacht derselbe Traum" under Günther Mannschreck's Schreckschuss label in January 1984. These vinyl copies became the band's currency for pursuing record deals and promotional prospects. However, despite the potential to achieve commercial success and garner radio airplay, the song and the "Total" project gradually waned from the music landscape. Regrettably, only a few vinyl copies have managed to endure over time. This NDW "holy grail" may have prompted a fair share of dreams for serious vinyl collectors, as to this day, not a single physical copy has been put up for sale on platforms like eBay or Discogs. Interestingly, Maisenbacher has even fielded an offer of over 400 Euros for an original copy, although he regretfully couldn't fulfill the request due to possessing just a single copy himself.

The song itself is a fusion of diverse musical styles. Crafted using the Oberheim OB8 system, complete with the DMX drum machine and a bassline woven from a Jupiter 8 keyboard, it carried a groove reminiscent of New York's electro hip-hop sound in "The Message," setting it apart from typical German new wave productions. Additionally, a Korg Polysix was integrated, and guitar effects were layered to finalize the infectious synth-pop instrumental. Newcomer to the band, Andrea Ströbel, laid down a flawless vocal layer that steered the song towards a straightforward NDW direction, giving it a resonance that surely resonated with mainstream and radio audiences. To complete a B-side for the original vinyl single, the legendary state-of-the-art L480 Lexicon reverb was used. In the more experimental "Maxi Mix," now known as the "Dub Mix," Mannschreck expertly manipulated the machine. The outcome stands as a historical example of incredible studio craftsmanship and the cutting-edge techniques of the 80s.
For the new 12" release, Mannschreck unearthed an alternative mix of the song on the original tapes, featuring a distinct introduction, break, and exciting edits. In addition, DJ Friction, who contributed to the transfer and mastering for the release, treated us to a superb edit that cleverly melds all versions of the song while incorporating a few extra bassline groove elements.

Jörg Burger calls out a trippy new genre named Cinematic Dance before C.A.R. and Patrice Bäumel resurface with a club mix of their early 2023 single ‘Four Down’. Sofia Kourtesis’ sultry remix of Perel ‘Matrix’ finally gets a well deserved vinyl release. ‘Ice Cream Cake’ by Cologne’s newcomer M.A.P.E. helps cooling things down a bit before another debutante, Argia from Madrid makes her first entry to the Kompakt catalogue. Gui Boratto’s recent single ‘Drink In Paris’ raises the energy levels just in time for Reinhard Voigt’s ruthless closing track ‘Endlich XXL’, an ode to some of the best things in this world: Beer and techno.

A name which requires no introduction, Masonna to this day stands as an unparalleled and absolutely unique voice from the golden era of noise. During the mid-90s Maso Yamazaki released a series of savage CDs on the legendary “Good Alchemy” series from Alchemy records. Originally released in 1996, “Ejaculation Generater” manages to cram 32 tracks of Masonna’s signature vocal noise in a nearly unrelenting half an hour. The artists personal favourite in a vast discography, “Ejaculation Generater” is now made available for the first time since its original release. The original liner notes by Jojo Hiroshige have been translated into english for the first time by Kato David Hopkins (R.I.P.). Mastered for both vinyl and digital editions by Rashad Becker.

Total Annihilation Beach is the latest collection from Caveman LSD, one of the handful of monikers of Special Guest DJ / uon / sometimes just shy. Their releases under this name have always had the character of sonic transmissions – crushed sine-waves hurtling out of a wormhole, remote pirate radio bandwidths, whale-song picked up on radar, and so on. Here, the signal seems to come from a place whose remoteness is not defined by distance, but adjacency: these are alternate reality bops.

What does it sound like? Kind of solarpunk, but dirty; not at all an artifact from a hopeless culture. Percussion at the forefront; warm timbres and tones – never have I heard this producer play with tabla and tambourine loops as they do in “Lost Hours,” the opening track of the EP. The buildup holds tension and dynamics tight, with a vocoder-smoothed moan – sampled from the caveman’s own voice, on the low – alternating between two notes; when the beat decompresses for the first time two and a half minutes in, one hears the amorphous and cavernous pads we know so well from shy. “Bottle Service Angels” picks up with another acoustic drum loop, and a clap entering 18 seconds in swings the rest of the track into your hips – there’s even an alternate percussion interlude

sandwiched in the middle. The drums are turned over by a distorted and delayed wave, almost like a cop siren, which finds an answer in the track’s final seconds: we hear them blaring, but distantly (the demo version of this track, from spring 2020, was called “ACAB Beat”).

The B side begins with a textured, heaving slab of ambience: “The Sun Will Sink Into the Ocean.” It is perhaps the sun one sees setting over “Total Annihilation Beach” – a phrase that came to shy while tripping on LSD in San Francisco, which felt to them like a post-apocalyptic haven for the rich. Seems on point. There is a machinic repetition to the track, but also sweeping curtains of sound that move like mist. But what comes at nightfall? Not cops, not raiders nor bottle service angels – nothing, actually. Just a void into which one lobs praise. “H6 Remix” adapts a Mesopotamian hymn to the divine wife of a moon deity, dated to 1400 BCE; the strings of the sampled oud playing it out are rich and trail beautifully with reverb. Caveman LSD’s gesture of remixing such a song reads sincere – the reality we inhabit is likely just as brutal as the one to which these transmissions belong; however, in both, honor exists. Love follows.

All the best music has a community underneath it. The extended family around London’s Total Refreshment Centre (TRC) connects continents and generations, creating the rich relationships in full effect on Transmissions From Total Refreshment Centre. It’s an eclectic and electric collection that draws from new school jazz, hip hop, dub, soul, funk, and drill: sounds you’ll hear trailing out of cars as they spin up the Kingsland Road or spiraling out of doorways like so much smoke. Turn it up loud to hear the widescreen young cousins of Guru’s landmark Jazzmatazz in full effect: top players from London, Chicago, and Melbourne seeking out new collaborations, new ways of working, or just new tunes, always coming back to that central truth – that we all need each other.

Sleight of The Third Eye' is the third release by Total Leatherette - made up of recordings from a two week residency at the CCA in Glasgow. The residency culminated in an 8 hour durational performance in the theatre of the CCA which we dedicated to Linda Di Franco’s Balearic hit ‘My Boss ‘, a segment of which is presented here for the first time.

TRINITAS ist die unheilige Allianz der Drei, die den alten Geist des Black Metal huldigen. Die Mitglieder sind Vargher (Gitarren, Bass, zusätzliche Vocals), Tormentor (Drums) und Azathoth (Necromantical Screams, Lyrics). Die Idee zu TRINITAS kam im Jahr 2012 auf. Alle drei Mitglieder kannten sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits seit einigen Jahren durch ihre anderen Bandaktivitäten. Von Anfang an war klar, dass TRINITAS eine Hommage an die Black Metal Bewegung der frühen 90er Jahre sein sollte. Daher ist die Musik roh und in gewisser Weise primitiv - ein bewusster Gegenpol zu dem, was man heute als Black Metal bezeichnet. Es gibt nichts Progressives in der Musik von TRINITAS und die Texte handeln nur vom Tod und dem Teufel - so wie es damals sein sollte. Eine Hommage an eine Zeit, in der Black Metal mehr war als nur Musik.

Es dauerte bis 2018, als die ersten drei Songs aufgenommen wurden. Sie wurden auf der selbstbetitelten MCD und MLP über das deutsche Label War Anthem Records im Jahr 2019 veröffentlicht. 2021 kamen Azathoth auf die Idee, ein erstes Full-Length-Album aufzunehmen. Innerhalb von drei Wochen komponierte Vargher neun Songs für das Album. Kurze Zeit später vereinbarte die Band eine Kooperation mit dem deutschen Label Vàn Records, um das Debütalbum zu veröffentlichen, das den Titel Total Heresy tragen wird. Es wurde in mehreren Studios in Schweden, den Niederlanden und Deutschland aufgenommen.

Cawd Slaydaz is a clear shift for Frigio Records. Yet, this debutant also marks a return of sorts. The album brings together Hugo de Naranja, co-founder of former Red Light Radio, and Max Abysmal. The link that connects the two? Their love for Colombia and the rich musical melting pot of this diverse nation. Nothing is stable on this eleven track LP, recorded in Bogotá Colombia with 10 different local guest artists. Rhythms are cross pollinated, cold and stark city thump collides with rich and lively organic flows. The style pursued is anything but singular, like the messages. Social exclusion and brutality in the poetic Perreo “Dejen Bailar” is mirrored in the Cumbia food ode “Potato Trip”. Dark Electronics, Experimental Bass & Trap are the genre tags that most will attempt to label this record with. This ignores the Leftfield Funk of “El Gorila Del Desierto”, the Stoner Ambient of “Uffff” or the Synth-Punk rage of “Razones”. An audio snapshot of a country: TOTÁL.

It’s common knowledge that KOMPAKT’s TOTAL series serves as our yearbook, a musical wrap up of the past 12 months. Therefore it doesn’t come as a surprise that this year’s edition is informed by another pandemic year, where dancefloors were still mostly deserted and the devastating developments in Eastern Europe. Kompakt’s A&R team still kept on foot on the imaginary dancefloor, while scouting different realms apart from the big room euphoria. Anyway, brain dance has always been a key ingredient to our catalogue.

The Voigt brothers are opening this years vinyl edition in an unusually romantic fashion. ‘Why’ combines a bubbly FM bassline with lush washes of looped guitars. High off the (presumably high) heels of her recent album ‘Jesus Was An Alien’ she delivers a spanking new excursion into her sonic world, ‘The Hill’. Our Mexican friend Rebolledo makes his first ever solo appearance on TOTAL with his trademark hypnotic desert sound. Jürgen Paape is calling a spade a spade with ‘Le Monde À Changé’ – The world has changed indeed. Our prodigal son, Matias Aguayo, returns to the mothership with ‘Cinco Y Rojo’. An exercise in Chicago-esque groove theory paired with a cheeky visitor from Denmark. Spot the reference and win a pair of hooves. It’s hard to find a quality party around Cologne without Jonathan Kaspar on its bill. Rightly so, as he continues to hone his craft as an impeccable DJ and producer. Michael gives the tremendously talented Danish singer songwriter eee gee a proper Mayer treatment and Kompakt founding member Jörg Burger closes off the festivities with a groovy midtempo chugger that reminisces ‘Blue Lines’ era Massive Attack as much as the late Andy Weatheralls low slung psychedelia.

Es ist allgemein bekannt, dass die TOTAL Reihe eine jährliche Positionsbestimmung des Kölner Labels KOMPAKT darstellt und der Jahrbuch-hafte Charakter war ja auch immer beabsichtigt. So wundert es wenig, dass man TOTAL 22 die Irrungen und Wirrungen des zweiten pandemischen Jahres 2022 deutlich anhört. Die A&R Abteilung des Labels hatte zwar – trotz geschlossener Clubs – weiter mindestens einen Fuss auf dem imaginären Tanzboden, aber man spürt, dass es ein eher verhaltener Jahrgang geworden ist. Dance Tracks brauchen einen entsprechenden Resonanzraum – und der war zumindest bis zur Deadline dieser Platte kaum gegeben. Aber Kopfdisco gehörte schon immer zum kompakten Repertoire. Letztlich entsteht in diesem vom Big Room los gekoppelten Bereich meist die interessanteste Musik.

Die Gebrüder Voigt eröffnen TOTAL 22 auf einer unerwartet romantischen Note. Quirlige FM Bässe schmiegen sich an verhuschte Gitarrenloops, so dass es eine wahre Freude ist. Perel hat gerade ihr fulminantes Album “Jesus Was An Alien” abgeliefert und spurtet bereits mit Siebenmeilenstiefeln (oder vielleicht auch Pumps?) zum nächsten Ziel: ‘The Hills’. Unser mexikanischer Freund Rebolledo ist erstmals solo auf einer TOTAL zu finden und beschwört mit ‘The Sharper Image’ seinen hypnotischen Prärie Sound herauf. Jürgen Paape nennt das Kind direkt beim Namen: Le monde a changé… Die Welt hat sich verändert – ein Kommentar zum Zeitgeschehen, der keiner Erklärung bedarf. Nach längerer Abstinenz hat Matias Aguayo wieder am Mutterschiff angedockt. ‘Cinco Y Rojo’ ist ein Lehrstück in Sachen Chicago-esquen Grooves, kombiniert mit einem frechen Besucher aus dem Dänemark der 80er. Findet die Referenz und gewinnt ein paar nagelneuer Hufen. Es ist derzeit schwer eine qualitativ hochwertige Party im Rheinland zu finden, auf der Jonathan Kaspar nicht spielt. Zurecht, denn er schärft seine Skills als DJ und Produzent wie ein Sushi Chef sein Messer. Michael Mayer dreht die überaus talentierte Singer Songwriterin eee gee auf links und überlässt seinem Weggefährten Jörg Burger das letzte Wort. "Crawling Up That Hill’ ist ein slicker Midtempo Groover, der in seiner behutsamen Psychedelik irgendwo zwischen Massive Attack in der ‘Blue Lines’ Epoche und Andy Weatherall changiert.

Los Angeles native Sha Sha Kimbo undeniably lives for the rave. As exemplified through her every intentional move as a producer, DJ, promoter, radio host and label owner, Sha Sha radiates an unwavering love for amplifying, nurturing and supporting the culture of underground electronic music and the community that surrounds it, with her forthcoming release absolutely no exception to this.

Set for release as a digital download and limited edition cassette tape on August 13, the LA rave staple is happy to announce her debut EP on Evar Records, Total Chaos. A brilliant testament to the cathartic importance of staying up late and getting lost in a buzzing crowd of kindred spirits, Total Chaos harnesses the universal experience of having pent-up energy into massive, angst-ridden breakbeat anthems. Over six tracks, Sha Sha channels the hair-raising spirit of '90s rave along with her formative experiences with DMZ-via-Low End Theory dubstep and punk rock. Finding her place within LA's bass music, house, techno and rave scenes while defying easy categorization, Sha Sha personifies the no-rules electronic music ethos behind John Frusciante and Aura T-09's Evar Records. To supplement Total Chaos' three originals, LYZZA, Machine Girl and LCY provide three raw remixes highlighting various aspects of Sha Sha Kimbo's renegade rave spirit.

Drawing from the Los Angeles punk rock and '90s rave music that soundtracked her youth, Total Chaos personifies how she grew up on the dance floor, showcasing Sha Sha's tried and true ability to express rich, nuanced emotions through tracks that, first and foremost, can level a warehouse party. Kicking off the vibe on July 30, the EP's lead single "Save The World" is a perfect representation of this, with the jump-up rave cut employing a megaton breakbeat and sickly-sweet vocal samples over simmering base of dark, UK-influenced atmospherics. From the late night energy of the title track to the euphoric, dawn-breaking feel of "Limited Perfect," Total Chaos offers the refuge of a robust dance floor with the warm reassurance to be one with the universe.

Rounding out Total Chaos EP are three remixes that amicably and serendipitously support Sha Sha Kimbo's visionary aim to both explore the unknown and bring people together along the way. Brazilian-born, Amsterdam-based powerhouse LYZZA adds a full verse and a nest of serrated rhythms to her version of "Total Chaos," while New York's Machine Girl applies their trademark punk electronics approach to "Save The World." Meanwhile, Bristol's own LCY hollows out "Limited Perfect" into a haunting amalgam of post-punk minimalism and low-frequency pressure. A study of the opposing light and dark energies of underground dance music, Total Chaos presents a breakbeat-heavy vortex, sure to awaken everyone's inner raver.

“Total Terror” is the second of two self-released cassette tapes by EBM-industrial act Front Line Assembly. At this point, Bill Leeb was the band's only dedicated member, with some help from Rhys Fulber. Most of the original cassette was remixed and remastered to be commercially released on CD in 1993 as “Total Terror 1”. This edition added three previously-unreleased bonus tracks from other old sessions: "Freedom", "Distorted Vision" and "Cleanser”. The original recordings of these songs were done in 1986 using nothing more than a four track recording system. This would be quite primitive for today's standards and sound quality will not be so effective, however the ideas are all there letting us enjoy some of the first songs created by Front Line Assembly.
