Nach zwei Jahren Solo-Tourneen präsentiert Yaron Herman sein neues Album. Er kehrt mit einem außergewöhnlichen Ensemble zurück und verbindet sich mit zwei der besten Saxophonisten der Welt: María Grand, ein aufsteigender, internationaler Star, und Alexandra Grimal, eine bedeutende Persönlichkeit der improvisierten Musik. Dieses Album nimmt uns mit auf die Suche nach Lyrik, Tiefe und Aufrichtigkeit, mit eleganten Melodien und kraftvollen Rhythmen, in einem Projekt, das sowohl spirituell als auch tief bewegend ist.

Als Yaron Herman mit der Arbeit an diesem Album begann, war das Erste, was ihm in den Sinn kam, die Melodie. Er habe in den letzten Jahren viel geschrieben, hauptsächlich in Notizbüchern, so der Künstler. Unterwegs oder zu Hause, alles von langen Zeilen bis zu kurzen Fragmenten. Mit der Zeit (und harter Arbeit) begannen diese "Motive" Gestalt anzunehmen und sich in "Lieder" zu verwandeln. Während er sie spielte und erkundete, was aus ihnen werden könnte, wurde klar, dass er nach einem Klang suchte, der nicht "nur" das Klavier war. Diese Melodien erforderten eine andere Stimme. Die Saxophonistinnen Maria Grand und Alexandra Grimal haben unterschiedliche Ansätze, doch beide haben eine geheimnisvolle, kraftvolle und lyrische Qualität, nach der gesucht wurde. Diese Qualitäten, kombiniert mit Haggai Cohen Milos wunderschönem Ton und rhythmischer Vielseitigkeit und dem Spiel und damit wertvollen Ideen von Herman's langjährigen musikalischen Bruders Ziv Ravitz während des gesamten Prozesses, ließen diese Lieder wirklich zum Leben erwachen. Im Studio hatte man das Glück, die Erfahrung und Perspektive des Produzenten Daniel Yvinec zu haben, der dazu ermutigte, die Musik weiter voranzutreiben und Risiken einzugehen. Improvisation: eine Suche nach dem Sweet Spot zwischen Freiheit und Zwang. Die Verspieltheit des Ganzen. Die Werkzeuge bereitstellen, aber nicht das endgültige Gebäude, die Leinwand bereitstellen, aber nicht vorschreiben, was darauf gemalt werden soll. So ist 'Radio Paradise' entstanden. Man ist im Studio auf den Titel gestoßen während einer Diskussion, wie sich Gegensätze ergänzen und wie die Rolle als Künstler darin besteht. Zu versuchen, das scheinbar Widersprüchliche in Einklang zu bringen. Den Raum zu finden, in dem Musik mühelos und aus dem Herzen fließt.

Hyldon, Brasiliens hochverehrter Sänger, Musiker und Produzent, hat sich mit Adrian Younge zusammengetan, um ein neues psychedelisches Soul-Album, HYLDON JID023, zu kreieren. Das Duo, das sich von Hyldons bahnbrechenden Arbeiten der 60er und 70er Jahre inspirieren ließ, lässt den Geist dieser Epoche wieder aufleben und schafft gleichzeitig einen modernen Klassiker. Hyldons einzigartige Stimme und lyrische Tiefe, kombiniert mit Younge's innovativer, analoger Produktion, sorgen dafür, dass dieses Album nicht in Vergessenheit geraten wird. JID023 ist eine der letzten Aufnahmen mit Hyldons langjährigem Mitarbeiter und Freund, dem verstorbenen Schlagzeuger Ivan ,Mamao" Conti von Azymuth.

Scowl is a band that sounds exactly like their name implies. Venomous, fierce, antagonistic. A sneer not to be crossed. Over the last five years, the Santa Cruz, California, band has firmly planted their flag in the hardcore scene with their vicious sound and ripping live show, sharing stages around the world with Circle Jerks, Touché Amoré, and Limp Bizkit, and filling slots at prominent festivals like Coachella, Sick New World, and Reading and Leeds. But with their new album, Are We All Angels (Dead Oceans), Scowl is aiming to funnel all that aggression through a more expansive version of themselves. Much of Are We All Angels grapples with Scowl’s newfound place in the hardcore scene, a community which has both embraced the band and made them something of a lightning rod over the past few years. Standout single “Not Hell, Not Heaven” outright rejects the narratives cast onto them by outsiders. “It’s about feeling victimized and being a victim, but not wanting to identify with being a victim,” explains vocalist Kat Moss. “It’s trying to find grace in the fact that I have my power. I live in my reality. You have to deal with whatever you're dealing with, and it ain’t working for me.” The band breaks from a sense of disassociation to seek deeper connections on “Fantasy.” “It’s incredibly challenging to try to balance my love for the scene while also feeling, in some spaces, extremely alienated and hated,” Moss says. “‘Fantasy’ is about feeling like I don't know how to connect with these people anymore, because I have shelled myself away so hard.” The album ends in a philosophical place on the closing, titular track, “Are We All Angels,” asking questions like, “Is this all there is?” and ultimately putting it on the listener to decide. “It’s about the personal struggle between good and evil. It doesn’t matter how ‘good’ or ‘bad’ you are, there are systems that will try to rewrite your narrative no matter what you actually do,” explains Moss, noting that punctuation on “Are We All Angels” has been deliberately omitted in an attempt to leave the statement open-ended. Are We All Angels is the highly anticipated follow-up to Scowl’s debut, 2021’s How Flowers Grow, a 16-minute primal scream over punishing riffs. But amidst the pounding chaos, it was the record’s sonic outlier, a cleaner interlude called “Seeds to Sow,” that, true to its name, planted the seed for what was to come for the band. “It kind of laid out this destiny for us, and I feel like now we’re fulfilling that,” says drummer Cole Gilbert. The band continued to expand their sound on 2023’s widely acclaimed Psychic Dance Routine EP, incorporating more pop hooks and favoring gentler singing over heavy screaming, paving the way for what would come next. Scowl’s growth got a huge boost from producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight, Code Orange, Balance and Composure), who broadened the band’s scope. “Will would say, ‘Everything you have here is correct, but it’s in the wrong place,’” says Gilbert. Moss adds: “Will really helped restructure a lot of the material. Some songs he tore apart to make more space for the really good hooks and choruses.” But even through this more eclectic approach, Scowl loses none of their edge, and still manages to convey the anger and frustration that lies underneath. They are deeply committed to carrying the ethos of punk and its sense of community. “Hardcore and punk have sculpted how we operate, what we want to do as a band, and how we participate,” says guitarist Malachi Greene. “At our core, we are a punk and a hardcore band, regardless of how the song shifts and changes.

Es ist ein Fall von popkultureller Archäologie. Eine Spurensuche der elektronischen Musik. Nach über 30 Jahren tauchen verschollene Tapes von Holger Czukay wieder auf, die er einst "zur freien Verfügung" eingespielt hatte. Eine Sound-Meditation von 1997, die nun erstmals neu gemastert im Original und in einer "Version" von die ANGEL (Ilpo Väisänen / Dirk Dresselhaus) und Zappi W. Diermaier von der Krautrock-Legende Faust vorliegt.

Die Arbeiten aus dem Czukay-Studio sind eigenwillige Klangstrukturen, die Mastering-Ingenieur Dresselhaus alias Schneider TM einschätzt als "futuristisches Kleinod, das für seine Entstehungszeit musikalisch weit vorne ist." Für ein abstraktes Klanggebilde "tief und emotional" wie er sagt. Eine Komposition, die mit Avantgarde oder Neue Musik nur unzureichend beschrieben ist. Ein echter Czukay eben. Die Genese dieser Aufnahmen führt in die freigeistigen 1990er, als Holger Czukay in Köln mit jüngeren Techno-Kollegen wie Dr. Walker von Air Liquide mit Beats experimentierte und sich ansonsten sehr für die leise Explosion der digitalen Medien interessierte.

Es war der Tech-Pionier und Medienkünstler Arthur Schmidt alias Gvoon, der ihn in langen Gesprächen auf die (damals futuristische) Data-Maschine "RealityEngine" brachte, mit der sich virtuelle Welten erschaffen ließen. Vom Full-Body-Tracking-System bis zum gemeinsamen Prototyp eines "Internet-TV-Senders". Darauf liefen experimentelle Czukay-Videos, die er mit neuen Samples und Klangfragmenten ausstattete. Später wurde eine kontemporäre Show namens "Czukay/Gvoon:Magazine" daraus und auch die "Can-Live-Soloprojekts" im März 1999, ausgestattet mit der Body-Tracker-Technik von Gvoon. Die DDR-Vergangenheit seines Tech-Sparringspartners Schmidt, der ihm von seiner Zeit in Stasi-Haftanstalten erzählte, setzte in Czukay einen kreativen Prozess frei. Er setzte dieses Trauma in Töne um und machte ihm ein musikalisches Geschenk. "Gvoon-Brennung 1", eine Gabe, die Schmidt "irgendwann" einmal verwenden könne. Einfach so. Ein Soundtrack, der ganz profan auf Digital Audio Tape übergeben wurde.

Über 20 Jahre später brachte Schmidt das "Czukay-Geschenk" für eine zum Kunstwerk umfunktionierte Verhörzelle des Ministeriums für Staatssicherheit (MfS) wieder zum Einsatz. Als Installation für einen stockfinsteren, bedrückenden Raum mit Gummiwänden. Hier stieß wiederum Dresselhaus auf das Material. Ihm wurde klar, dass er dort mehr hörte als irgendwelche 1990er-Fragmente: "Es ist irgendwie Blues-mäßig, auf eine kybernetische und abstrakte Art." "Mit einem sehr langsamen Groove, der einen die gesamte Strecke aufmerksam hält", sagt Dresselhaus. Er beschreibt den Mastering-Prozess sowie die Neubearbeitung in Form der "Gvoon-Version 1" als Balanceakt zwischen Respekt vor dem historischen Material und einer zeitgemäßen Studio-Bearbeitung.

Nadia Struiwigh returns to Blueprint for her second EP "The X1 Shift EP is more than a collection of tracks; it's a story, a refl ection of the shifts I've embraced, and the identity I'm uncovering at my core. I've always felt that music is storytelling, not boxes to be labelled. Whether through ambient textures, techno grooves, or experimental soundscapes, each genre represents a chapter in a bigger story.


The magic lies in weaving them together into something timeless and deeply resonant-much like the origins of electronic music. For me, the essence of being an artist is freedom-creating without limits and exploring the beauty of the unexpected.

This EP represents thatfreedom: the love of pushing boundaries, the courage to evolve, and the joy of stepping into the unknown. Every sound on X1 Shift is intentional, every transition meaningful, yet there's also room for spontaneity.
Technically, the EP features the tools and hardware that inspire me: the Korg Electribe (my heart), Yamaha DX200, NI Maschine+, Arturia Minifreak, and plugins from NI and Plugin Alliance.
These tools became the palette for painting this journey.

While "Haut-fond" and "Cardinaux" are true feats of elegant prog rock, "Mariano (Jamais je ne t'oublierai)" and "homme étoilé" prove that Population II is also endowed with a profound melodic sensibility capable of creating catchy and explosive hooks.

On this new album, the trio fine-tunes the distinctive style they’ve been developing for several years, thanks in part to a fusion of shared influences – from Soft Machine to MC5 to L'Infonie – but also to a rare complicity that can only blossom between such close friends. Over the course of a decade, Wata Igarashi has risen as one of techno's most accomplished DJs and producers. His highly aesthetic trademark sound is as heavily psychedelic as it's driven by its stern kinetic energy. It's often overlooked that Igarashi is much more than a torch bearer of the raw hypnotic techno he became known for. He's also a very accomplished and versatile musician with a deep understanding of the cause and effect of sound design. His skills are fully on display on 2023's full length "Agartha", a film score to a fictitious movie about the mythical underworld of planet Mars. It was a rather obvious idea to cross the bridge between this epic deep listening album and Wata Igarashi's techno persona by having him remix himself. As you might expect, the "Agartha Sorcery Acid Mix" has turned out to be a masterclass in psychedelic designer techno. It's slightly slower in BPM as the usual Igarashi fare but every bit as captivating. The "Floating Against Time Shimmering Mix" shows another intriguing facet of Wata's spectrum. Let's call it: Psychedelic Deep House. KOMPAKT's very own Michael Mayer couldn't resist to turn the Godzilla soundtrack-ish "Ceremony Of The Dead" into a positively hysterical minimal disco operette. And then there's the "Fusion Mix of Abyss x Darkness" by Philipp Stoffel, a fresh Cologne DJ producer whose AKTE club nights just spawned a label by the same name. He's definitely one to keep an eye on in 2025.

Mit einer etwas geringeren BPM-Zahl als bei Igarashis üblicher Musik, aber genauso fesselnd. Der „Floating Against Time Shimmering Mix“ zeigt eine weitere faszinierende Facette von Watas Spektrum. Nennen wir es: Psychedelic Deep House. A new arsenal of cinematic synth textures and alien soundscapes pushes the band's genre-defying ethos towards more nostalgic and introspective ter- rain as they come to terms with the unknown. The band's latest ofering `Transmissions' marks the culmination of four years of introspection, experimentation and revitalisation for Telepathy, representing the band at its expressive core. Inspired by faded photographs unearthed in the brother's family home and the surprise discovery of a long lost relic, `Transmissions' is a cluster of musical messages that hurtles between nostalgic snapshots of the past and the everyday chaos of the present. Amongst precious memories and family treasures, the Turek brothers stumbled upon a recording of the frst radio broadcast of statesman Jo'zef Pilsudski, widely regarded as the founder of modern Poland. The wonder and optimism in his voice, captured over 100 years ago, ignited an inspirational drive to refect this time- less sense of awe in the present by pushing their musical creativity further than ever before. This revolutionary reinvention is immediately apparent on the opening track and lead single `Oath', which poured efortlessly out of the band in just one day. A recreation of that famous radio transmission introduces eight formidable minutes of widescreen rifs, thundering drums and otherworldly synth work that simultaneously feels like the blink of an eye. Subsequent track `Augury' rises from the dying whispers of `Oath', signalling Telepathy's renewed focus on composition and storytelling. The sense of open space and weightlessness from the song's halftime groove, soaring guitar arpeggios and an audio sample declaring that "the answer lies in the future" pushes the band beyond the familiar into exciting, uncharted territory. QUEENDOM is an album that marks a new era for the project while staying true to the essence of Minuit Machine. Produced under the SYNTH RELIGION label, this opus immerses us in Amandine's introspective realm, oscillating between darkness and light, between doubt and self-conquest. While retaining the emotional DNA of previous productions, QUEENDOM stands out with a more pop-oriented touch, featuring tracks where Amandine sings in French for the first time.

The first single, "HOLD ME," is a powerful pop anthem addressed to the queer community, celebrating the freedom to be oneself and breaking free from societal and patriarchal norms. This track is a true empowerment statement, with striking electro beats supporting a strong message of emancipation and pride.

"Créatures," a collaboration between RAUMM and Minuit Machine, is a modern fairy tale—a timeless love story that could take place in any era. This salvific love, rarely seen today, embodies a poignant depth and beauty.

Continuing the journey, "Cent Fois"—a French-written track—takes us into a techno-pop universe with nostalgic yet hopeful undertones. This song perfectly reflects Minuit Machine's evolution toward a more radiant approach while staying faithful to its dark heritage.

"Party People," on the other hand, is a return to roots with dark wave/italo sounds. This hypnotic and haunting track questions identity in an increasingly robotic society, where individuals are forced to conform to imposed norms. This exploration of the individual versus the collective lies at the core of Minuit Machine's DNA.

Am 21. März 2025 folgt nun endlich das langersehnte zweite Album von NOISEPICKER auf Exile On Mainstream. Nach dem 2018 veröffentlichten Erstling war es zwar nicht wirklich ruhig geworden um die Zweimann-Band mit Kieran Murphy (u.a. COLD COMFORTS, PAIGE KENNEDY), verschiedene Verpflichtungen wie z.B. der extensive Tour-Schedule von Orange Goblin, ließen wenig Zeit für Studioaufnahmen. Doch nun ist es soweit. Nachdem NOISEPICKER auf dem EOM25-Festival im Mai 2024 bereits erste neue Songs vorstellten, ging es kurz danach ins Studio. The Earth Will Swallow The Sun ist das Ergebnis und überrascht mit einem Sound, den Peace Off 2018 bereits vorwegnahm, der aber nun zu voller Blüte gereift ist. Auf der Basis von Blues und Noise erschaffen Noisepicker etwas völlig eigenständiges, mit deutlichen akustischen Verweisen an Tom Waits ebenso wie an The Jesus Lizard. Inhaltlich ist das Album eine Abrechnung mit politischen und gesellschaftlichen Themen, die uns aktuell beschäftigen und die Ohnmacht, unterdrückte Wut ebenso illustrieren wie die Möglichkeit eines Ausbrechens, ohne in blinden Aktionismus zu verfallen. Hier ist nichts poliert, perfekt oder konstruiert. Stattdessen sind NOISEPICKER laut, authentisch und ständig im Wandel, beeinflusst von allem, was Doom, Punk und Blues ist. This is the question at the heart of Secret, the duo’s debut album—or at least, that’s what the music seems to suggest. If sound is an extension of ourselves, it can also become a character we shape. The internationally renowned double bassist and composer Dieter Ilg
releases his new work, 'Motherland'
As the album cover - featuring Ilg wearing a traditional Black Forest Bollenhut -
suggests, this project reflects his deep connection to his homeland and to Mother
Earth. Ilg is supported by his trio, as well as the master trumpeter Till Bronner, whose
trumpet and flugelhorn lend the compositions a unique atmosphere.
Having collaborated with numerous musicians such as Randy Brecker, Mike Stern,
Vince Mendoza, and many others, Dieter Ilg has released 25 albums as a leader or coleader, along with a series of recordings as a sideman. On 'Motherland', he reunites
with his long- standing trio, featuring German pianist Rainer Bohm and French
drummer Patrice Heral. This time, alongside their original works, they reinterpret two
classical pieces: Ilg's adaptation of Handel's "Minuet" from Water Music and his
rendition of "Glorious" from Alexander's Feast. For 16 years, Ilg, Bohm, and Heral have
journeyed together musically. The secret to their chemistry, according to Ilg, lies in
their openness to letting things unfold in the moment.
'Motherland' is both an homage to Ilg's roots and a reflection of the music and
experiences that have shaped the bassist, who hails from Offenburg in Germany's
Black Forest region. A standout track is "Schwarzwaldfahrt", in which Ilg transforms
the lighthearted melody of German pianist Horst Jankowski into a nostalgic
interpretation with an authentic second- line groove. Till Bronner delivers a stunning
trumpet solo on this piece, with Ilg commenting, "When Till plays, I know exactly
where we're headed. I can hear the path he's focusing on."

"Ital Breakfast" (1996) ist ein weiterer Dub Syndicate-Klassiker, bei dem Style Scott noch mehr jamaikanische Topmusiker zusammenbrachte, darunter Mitglieder von Roots Radics, Soul Syndicate, Joe Gibbs' Professionals und Bunny Lee's Aggrovators. Dieses unglaubliche Erbe wird durch Adrian Sherwoods Arbeit am Mischpult ergänzt, bei der er die Londoner Musiker Skip McDonald und Akabu overdubbte und seine Klangmagie auf das Rohmaterial wirken ließ – eine echte transatlantische Dub-Zusammenarbeit. Stainless starteten offiziell im Jahre 2022 in Portland, Oregon. Aktuelle und frühere Musiker waren vorher bei lokalen Underground-Bands wie Black Breath, Long Knife, Lebenden Toten, Halt, Bellicose Minds, Nightfell, Malikili und Ripper aktiv. Das erste Lebenszeichen der Band war die in Eigenregie gepresste 7" Single "Snakebite"/"Too Hot To Steal". Nun erscheint als Nachfolger das Mini-Album "Nocturnal Racer" mit dem Titelstück sowie "Shot For Shot", "Believer" und "The Evil Lies". Die vier Songs wurden 2023/24 in den Red Lantern Studios (Portland) von Larissa Cavacece (Gesang), Mira Sonnleitner (Bass), Joe Sugar (Drums) und Jamie Byrum (Gitarre, Gesang) eingespielt. Mittlerweile ist Joe Sugar durch Terrica Catwood von der Band Time Rift ersetzt worden. "Ich würde uns als Hardrock oder Heavy Rock bezeichnen", weiß Gitarrist und Sänger Jamie Byrum. "Es gibt zwar viele Elemente des Heavy Metal in unserer Musik, aber es wäre wohl missverständlich, uns als reinrassige Hevy-Metal-Band zu bezeichnen. Die erste Single war im Gegensatz zu "Nocturnal Racer" noch viel mehr im Blues verwurzelt." Frontlady Larissa Cavacece, die von Kanada nach Portland gezogen ist, prägt mit ihrer messerscharfen Stimme irgendwo zwischen Leather Leone und Wendy O. Williams den Sound von Stainless nicht unwesentlich. Jamie Byrum: "Ihre Einflüsse gehen weiter als Chastain und Plasmatics. Allerdings weiß ich, dass sie es ehrt, in einem Atemzug mit den beiden genannt zu werden. Larissa besitzt einen Goth-Background, schwört aber auch auf Crust-Bands wie Amebix und Sacrilege. Des weiteren ist sie ein großer Bowie-Fan und liebt den Rock der Siebziger. Passenderweise hat ihre Karriere als Sängerin in einer Plasmatics-Coverband begonnen." "As I get back to myself, it's a constant reset: Remember who you are, remember who you want to be." You can hear the impact of this approach in Baby Rose's upcoming second album, Through and Through. Take the hypnotic "Fight Club." Over the track's simmering baseline and crashing cymbals, she declares, "I don't need no one else to show me the way." She describes the song as a "breaking of the shell. It encourages me to just go for it and not care about what anyone else thinks." Therein lies Baby Rose's strength: a determination to live, love, and create on her own terms. "I'm not just a singer with a unique voice," she says. "I'm somebody that has something to say." In the years since releasing her last album, To Myself, Rose has been painstakingly piecing together its sequel. Started almost immediately after its release, her new body of work finds her in a state of musical and personal transition. It's a subtle merging of new sounds_stirring rock, upbeat r&b, psychedelic funk, pop, and soulful ballads_, all mastered through analog tape to make the music feel warmer and all-encompassing. For schuttle’s next unearthly contribution, we invite you to slip into the reassuring comforts of the simulated realm. Herein lies an open invitation to all of those tentative travellers willing to join us as we revel in four slices of post-biological optimism.

The world building begins with “Splan”. schuttle’s navigation vessel hovers steadily above a fractal landscape until a divine arp propels us skywards. We burst through the latent cloudsphere to marvel at the boundless synergy of the interlocking polygons. The sunburst gradient barely has time to load before an oscillating wriggle plunges us into a strangely familiar stomping ground. Hedonistic NPCs begin spawning at random, splurging joyful machine funk at each other before walking gleefully into walls. Finally, with a little help from a well known toad, schuttle unleashes the full might of his Mana on the nascent gathering.

We dock next in ‘Melonweed Musick’. Our vessel gently stirring the reeds as we descend into the marshland. The potent aroma of the swamp fills our nostrils, various apparitions seem to wriggle into view. What have we been inhaling? No time to consider, the loose murk of the breakbeat is starting to take effect and it’s all we can do to keep one foot squelching after the other. As we submit wholeheartedly to the sheer depth and clarity of the bassline, a kindly angel sweeps above the sphagnum, spraying a succession of cleansing chords over our slimy bodies. Refreshed with some useful navigation advice we continue.

In ‘Kitchen Sync’ our craft’s speedometer is tickled up to a cruising 120bpm. The world outside our window begins to swim with colour, prickly forms materialise then dissipate around us. The familiar shape of our old friend, the high priest 303 appears before us, steadying the ship. Its resonant flame warming our hearth, and our hearts too. Then begins a beautiful communion of the domestic and the otherworldly, through the interplay of acid under glimmering keys. Provoking within us an uncontrollable desire to open our curtains, to cast off our slippers and embrace the infinite morrow.

Our voyage concludes with ‘Inspo 2000’. Scintillating landing lights guide us toward our destination, our descent beckoned by woody and playful percussion. We tumble through the troposphere, our landing cushioned by the buoyancy of the gated chords, the kicks juicing what's left of our dwindling fuel supply. A luxurious breakdown brings the ground into focus. Perhaps this is home? The simulation is now so accurate that it seems pointless to question it, it is a world we have always known.

MOLA's music is the unadorned antithesis to a rosy world. She celebrates herself to death, pulls you into her inner chaos and does without the usual romanticising transfiguration of the merciless disorientation that catches up with you on the way home after the last cigarette.

MOLA knows better than anyone that she is a border commuter - and she has never made a secret of it. Perhaps it was fate that the course of events abandoned her shortly after her birth in Erba, Italy, in Germany's most austere metropolis. In Munich, where flying free and falling free are a little more complicated than in the cesspit of Berlin, where one would naturally place Isabella Streifeneder and her music if one didn't know better.

Temporarily reduced to intimacy, then escalating into iconic 80s "Purpel Rain" pathos, MOLA illustrates the emotional chaos that the inner dialogue of left and right brain triggers in her. Unconventional pop music that bundles the nonchalance of great soul anthems, the grace of the Italo-disco of the eighties and the ingenuousness of lascivious hip-hop bangers instead of trying to sound modern by force.

MOLA celebrates defeat, exposes life lies, criticises adulthood, documents radical mood swings. She balances along the abyss in her ball gown, jokes about things you don't joke about, praises and curses intoxication and love - "Vino Bianco no longer tastes like dolce vita, it only tastes like losing".

After more than 40 festivals "Snow in Summer" on well-known stages like Lollapalooza Berlin, Rocken am Brocken, Puls Open Air, but also as support for Udo Lindenberg at the Hermann-Hesse-Festival, "Life is Beautiful", the darned second record, sounds almost cynical, ironic or simply naive? Since the early days of electronic music, white label records have been inextricably linked to DJ culture and the ways in which underground music has been disseminated. unknown - untitled draws on the white label concept withholding details about the producers behind the tracks and leaving listeners to draw their own conclusions about what they’re hearing.

The new concept label will focus primarily on vinyl releases, with previews of the tracks available online, but information about the artists only to be found within the record sleeve itself. Several weeks after the vinyl is out, there will be a digital release that reveals who was behind the tracks. The roster will range from new and emerging producers to more established artists looking to explore new sounds.

The label's first release, presents three gorgeous slabs of UK schooled techno steeped in psychedelic textures and sub-low pressure. With online personas often eclipsing the focus on music itself, here lies a return to form.

Enxin/Onyx, the duo of Nicky Mao/Hiro Kone and Tot Onyx (formerly group A), joins Other People with their debut album "In Rupture," capturing the same mesmerizing energy for which their live sets have become known.

“In Rupture” is not painless but in rupture lies possibility. The elasticity of this time pitching us across unknown terrain, revealing new potentialities, eclipsing static being. Whether in breach, collision,shimmer or severance, Enxin/Onyx explores these as occasions for transformation. Peeling back the layers through discord and harmony, exciting the inversion of expectation, towing the listener to depths and back up again to illuminate the senses. At times metallic and feral, at others murky and sharp, each song serves as an offering for all that is in rupture; body, spirit, land, ecosystem.
The opening track “A Void” calls to mind some mutation in its mechanical ecstasy, but for what purpose remains unknown. Even in the near moments of stillness, “Needle Pierces the Threshold” breathes a forceful disquietude. Tommi’s vocals pulling the listener down into some subterranean
madness, to unravel upwards from all sides, flooding the once parched landscape. In “Embers Kissthe Eye”, all of time emerges in one moment, compelling the subject’s gaze towards a new horizon.
The album follows its subjects through exile, exhumation and discovery. Through this process plates shift, fissures are revealed and what once appeared to be indomitable absolutes crack, pointing towards their inevitable collapse. To be in rupture is regeneration, to be in rupture is to return.

Here’s another one of those great early-‘90s glam metal albums that got lost in the grunge explosion. And because it came out in 1992, Capitol never bothered releasing it on vinyl in the U.S. So this one’s been a long time comin’…and as soon as you hear the opening cut “Hang On Lucy,” you know you’re in for a ride. Fans of Dokken, RATT, Skid Row, and Mötley Crüe will flip over Under the Influence…and lead vocalist Drew Hannah is in the grand tradition of Vince Neil et al. Trivia note one: Wildside ruled the Sunset Strip (and were the subject of a bidding war between Capitol and Polygram) under the name Young Gunns but was forced to change their name when Lionsgate Films came out with their Young Guns movie. Trivia note two: this was the first non-Van Halen record recorded at Eddie Van Halen’s 5150 home studio, engineered by famed Led Zeppelin producer Andy Johns! We’ve had this lost classic remastered for vinyl to make sure it pops…fire orange pressing housed in a deluxe gatefold jacket!

It’s written in the Agreement Terms. There’s no getting out alive in Life. And yet, mankind keeps striving for eternal life; through art, through power, through cryogenics, through singularity. In that misguided quest against the inevitable, we all fall into the category of lost travellers. No one is exempt. In that understanding, Confucius MC and producer Bastien Keb offer no misgivings about the destination on the somber “Time Will Come”: Time will come for all of us / try to take your time.

Songs For Lost Travellers is a collaborative album by Con and Bastien Keb that merges unexplored pathways between rap, folk, and jazz into a spiritual triumvirate. Each genre is a balancing force within the record. The result is an album unlike either artist have made previously, possibly unlike any record in existence. Songs For Lost Travellers opens with bedtime stories and fairytales. Both “Tell Me Lies” and “Fairytale” present the creature comforts that trick us into forgetting the truth. Con’s first words spoken are “tell me lies ‘til I swear I can’t remember” over Keb’s lo-fi plucking that feels like it was lifted from a handheld recorder capturing a nursery mobile above a crib. Third track “Time Will Come” resets the album after acknowledging on “Fairytale” there’s “no nourishment in half-truths / no sustenance in eating lies.”

Honest and direct, Con and Keb imbue Songs For Lost Travellers with knowledge and truth from their lived experiences. There is grief hidden in the notes, an inherent sadness that is balanced with an awareness that grief is a protest against the social machinery of remaining numb. The record lingers in a meditative state, unafraid of restlessness and embracing solitude, with the expectation that peace is just as imminent as death.

The production contains a complimentary authenticity. Neither Con nor Keb bothered much with the professional studio in making Songs For Lost Travellers. Instead they opted for the raw state of their home recordings and first takes, matching the intimacy of being alone and reflective in their creative energies. Room static on “Tell Me Lies” makes it feel like you’ve entered their apartments. The immediacy continues on “Gutters,” as Keb plays guitar while watching the tele and Con hums along to the vocal melody in search of the proper pocket for his verse. Someone snaps their finger to mark a cue, but the snap never returns to the mix to keep time.

More drawn to Keb’s recent folk recordings on the Songs For Lilla EP than his funk roots circa Dinking In The Shadows of Zizou or the cinematic soul of The Killing of Eugene Peeps, Con leaned into the spacial freedom he heard in Keb’s lo-fi production cobbled from field recordings and voice notes. Both artists placed their families into the tableau. Con wrote “Little Man” for his son, hoping to add a positive contribution to the canon of parental rap songs. Later, his son appears at the end of “Paramount” to deliver a passage from Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet. Keb secretly recorded his mum playing saxophone and sampled his cousin playing sax as well. The result is a near-drumless album (save for “Toulouse” and light tapping on “It Would Speak”) in which Keb’s raw production (plus a few sessions with Kofi Flexxx) gave Con a liminal zone, unencumbered by beats per minute, to craft melodies that turn his philosophical rhymes into mantras.

Perhaps there’s a message in the presence of family? It would be one of many. Con and Keb’s reflective, somber approach to Songs For Lost Travellers does not wallow in the mire. Music is action and it’s taking them through a portal to the other side of grief. We are welcome to join (which is also in the fine print of the Agreement Terms), but first there’s a password in the final song, a single request to answer: Tell me what you care about.

Ungod is the debut album by industrial rock band Stabbing Westward, released in 1994. Thme is the alias of Paris-based musician Théo Martin. He has released numerous albums on labels such as Seil Records, Vaagner, and Lontano Series, along recent collaborations with artists Agyt and Lamasz.

Anti Atlas is Théo’s first solo work in two years, and his first release on vinyl and cd. The use of magnetic tape remains central to his creative process, enabling him to infuse the sound with a sense of fragility and vulnerability, despite its inherent unpredictability. Feedback loops, emerging from the interactions between tape recorders, served as the guiding principle throughout the entire recording. Longing, heartfelt aspirations, and the quiet hope that keeps us reaching for what lies ahead.

Elkan's self titled debut LP is in a way a lifelong album in the making, it contains all the growing pains, internet isolation, losing one's self and finding it again, flourishing and finally releasing. Most of all it's like finding a little portal out of our universe into a new one. It was a bit of an excavation process to make this music available, some don't give themselves away so easily. Elkan's music is humble, quiet at times, but therein lies its power, it's a journey you don't quite come back from, at least not like how you once were. We are very happy to finally be able to share this music, and we hope it will resonate with you.

Rauelsson's third solo album for Sonic Pieces focuses on simplicity and minimalism. It recalibrates his love for ambient with an austere approach that conjures an atmosphere of silence and solitude. On Niu, the artist has traded his craft for shimmering layers of sound clusters and electronic editing in favor of a predominantly raw and acoustic recording.

Recorded primarily in Sofia and Berlin and mixed at Saal 3 of Funkhaus Berlin, Niu presents a 9-song journey that includes orchestral compositions, delicate synth miniatures, and sparse brass and woodwind drones with room for spoken word and a hint of psychedelic noir fable. The result is an album that, despite the eclectic choice of instrumentation, paints a landscape of spiritual clarity; an album that without being typically classical, still feels like a classical album. Three themes vary across the 9 pieces, starting with the purely orchestral "Prelude No. 7" before moving on to airy synth bass arpeggio and pedal steel. With more changing instruments, Raúl next takes us into a fairytale flute composition with guest flutist Heather Woods Broderick and brass vibrations by the trio Zinc & Copper. Finally, Katrine Grarup Elbo recites a poem by Raúl, ending the piece on a somber but beautiful note. The rest of the album continues in this vein, creating a unique sound that surprises the listener at every turn. Niu is a real departure from the artist's previous works in both scope and musicality. Everything was recorded without overdubs and with only minimal editing, trying to preserve the feeling of music coming from a room where musicians play live. The album also follows a certain mysticism with its poetic interludes, alternate track lists and titles like "Podium Of Riddles", "A Keyhole-Shaped Island" and "Ceramic Swallows, Set Of 3". Perhaps, given enough time, a hidden meaning or a new perception will be revealed. Niu is also set to be expanded into an art book, containing poems and photographs by Raúl, as well as an exhibition. Fumitake Tamura (Leaving Records) and Jason Kolàr (Dauw, Stroom) return to Dauw with 'Suki-Ma', a cassette only mixtape including music from the same sessions that led to their debut 'Ōki-sa' which was released last year. According to the artists, 'Suki-Ma' is conceived as a mixtape rather than a new album. A draft rather than a new step.

隙間 (Suki-Ma) refers to the space or gap between objects, a concept that invites reflection on what lies between the defined and the undefined. This mixtape embodies that in-between state: a fluid, open sketch existing at the intersection of ideas. Despite its more polished production, it embraces imperfection and incompleteness, serving as a continuation of Ōki-sa (大きさ, meaning ‘size’, ‘largeness’ or ‘spaciousness’), while embracing further misunderstandings in the creation of a new record.

The Tonarium is an idiosyncratic instrument comprising of two sets of modular synthesizers: Serge by Random Source, and another one by Bugbrand, both of which operate alongside a mixer constructed by Piotr Ceglarek and Jan Dybała. This intertwinement facilitates precise control over audio and CV signals and integrates technology with analog sound, offering the artists a distinctive sonic palette to delve into.

The present record unfolds in two parts, each exploring the fluctuating nature of sound. Both equally contribute to the work’s immersive imaging characterized by sound intensity, continuity and endless flow. Within its sonic tapestry lies a space for listeners to uncover subtle nuances, pulsations, and moments of harmony flickering through each chord’s firm surface.

In Part I, a formidable force consisting of chord progressions pierced by abrupt shifts and transitions unfolds. This deliberate disruption of harmonic continuity invites listeners to immerse themselves fully in each musical entity, uncovering the intricate details of the chords’ overtonal structure, drifting and steadily glimmering inside their glowing cores.

Part II, on the other hand, presents a more closed form—a recurring four-chord motif that evolves and transforms with each iteration until it finally fades out into whisper-like serenity. Here, the bass pulsates with greater intensity, like a wave enveloping the listener in a froth of feelings, which prevails and swells throughout the composition. In contrast to Part I, it exudes a sense of warmth and intimacy, inviting listeners to reflect over the dimensions of their own inner landscapes.

The Tonarium is to serve as a conduit for expression—a vessel through which the artist Aleksandra Slyz is enabled to channel her creativity and emotion into the music. Both Part I and II of the work have the capacity to drag listeners into a sonic odyssey that transcends time and space, therefore leaving an indelible impression on one’s trembling soul.

Slum Dunk Music is proud to re-release Tropical Punk - a 12" EP by Brazilian mutant punk funk duo Tetine formed by Sao Paulo-born artists/musicians Bruno Verner & Eliete Mejorado, originally released in 2010 - and featuring 4 warm dance punk numbers taken from their the album "From A Forest Near You". The opener "Tropical Punk (Mutant edit)" comes with a brand new mutant funk re-edit with more percussion, more analog synths, warm drum machines, and a funky bassline. The result is a mid-tempo South American cannibalistic disco-pop with catchy lyrics & beautiful half-sang/half-spoken melodies. "Yr Daugther Lies" is a cosmic, experimental/new wave piece with plenty of old school synths, processed vocals, percussive drum machine & spooky live electronics flying around in the mix. It marks Tetine's first collaboration with L.A. electronicists Howardamb. On the B side, "Shiva" comes as a percussive tropical mutnat punk-funk number led by a swinged bassline & Eliete Mejorado's distinct post-feminist spoken word vocals on sordid domesticity set against organic drum beats, dissonant soundscapes, a lost trumpet & some great interplay of raw guitars. The last track "O Espaco" is a relaxed 6-minute cosmic disco piece of Brazilian tropical punk funk on the dangers & delights of being lost in the jungle - sang in Portuguese by Bruno & Eliete - & permeated by a discordant interplay of ultra-funky guitars, abstract synth-bass plus all sorts of FX & live electronics. Tropical Punk finds Tetine celebrating their art-punk roots back to the underground of Sao Paulo with a collection of wild & raw unconventional dance tracks.

Genesis' seventh studio album was released in February 1976 on Charisma Records and was the first to feature drummer Phil Collins as lead vocalist after the departure of Peter Gabriel. The album was a critical and commercial success in the U.K. and U.S., reaching No. 3 and No. 31 respectively. A Trick Of The Tail was a landmark album for the band, and it still stands today as one of their best with classics such as "Dance On A Volcano" and "Squonk."

In the wake of Peter Gabriel's departure from the band, the remaining members of Genesis were determined to forge ahead, showcasing their songwriting prowess and recording prowess in the absence of their iconic frontman. This period marked the genesis of A Trick of the Tail. In mid-1975, the band embarked on an intensive creative journey, crafting new compositions and diligently rehearsing them. Their quest for a new lead vocalist led them to sift through a staggering 400 audition tapes.

As the autumn leaves began to fall, Genesis found themselves at Trident Studios in October, accompanied by producer David Hentschel. Surprisingly, the recording sessions began with an air of uncertainty regarding who would take on the role of lead vocalist. However, fate intervened when Phil Collins was persuaded to step up and deliver a powerful rendition of "Squonk." The strength of his performance not only won over the band but also paved the way for him to assume lead vocals for the entirety of the album.

Genesis has always been synonymous with grandeur and innovation, both in their electrifying live performances and their trailblazing studio albums. From timeless classics such as Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound, to the epic concept album The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, the band has consistently pushed the boundaries of musical creativity.

Dienne creates hazy pieces of music full of the melancholy of remembrance and loss combining analogue instruments with reverb-drenched vocals and shimmers of processed electronic sources. Her new album "Conducturis" emerges as a sensory exploration of the human spirit and the boundless horizons of artificial intelligence.

"Abundant in beauty and rich in disturbances" serves as the guiding principle for Belgian composer, Dienne, as she builds songs and soundscapes that portray the images and stories that play behind her eyes.

Combining analogue instruments like the oboe, the piano, and the flute with reverb-drenched vocals and shimmers of processed electronic sources, she creates hazy pieces of music full of the melancholy of remembrance and loss.

Her debut album Addio (2022) was released on Nicolás Jaar's Other People imprint. Addio is a 32-minute study on loss and mourning. Following the death of her grandmother due to Covid-19, and unable to say a proper goodbye due to travel restrictions, Dienne set out to give her "Addio" through musical form. The result is a deeply intimate work that channels classical instrumentation through foggy electronic experimentation.

Memories, biographies, and family histories merge in this simultaneously somber and optimistic work which plays out like a universal and comforting ode to lost loved ones. Her second album, Conducturis, accompanies an immersive film installation delving into speculative fiction, conceptualized by Mira Sanders and Cédric Noël. Conducturis will be released on Cortizona at the end of January 2025.

Conducturis is an immersive film installation project that delves into the realms of speculative fiction, employing the cinematic language of the road movie to envision the ramifications of constructing an artificial brain within the Swiss landscape.

Following their encounters with key figures in the Human Brain Project during an art research expedition in Geneva from 2019 to 2020, conceptualized by Cédric Noël & Mira Sanders, they stumbled upon a remarkable discovery: a hidden fiber-optic cable linking Geneva to Lugano.

Anchored at both ends by the Human Brain Project in Geneva and the CSCS (Centre Suisse de Calcul Scientifique) in Lugano, this conduit facilitated the transmission of intricate brain simulations from the imposing computational hub in Lugano to Geneva via a 'superconductor' cable.

While the nuances of this fiber network eluded the naked eye, Sanders & Noël meticulously pored over maps, gathered endless data, and traversed the terrain. In crafting "Conducturis", they chose to portray an immersive journey along this IT infrastructure connecting Geneva and Lugano, exploring the curious allure of dreaming about artificial landscapes.

The accompanying originalscore by Dienne invites audiences to delve into the intersection of human creativity and machine intelligence. Guided by the principle of being "abundant in beauty and rich in disturbances", Dienne embarks on a sonic exploration of the Swiss landscape, translating its ethereal beauty and technological wonders into evocative musical compositions.

Maverick musician and artist Edvard Graham Lewis returns with ‘Alreet?’: an exciting album of majestic, experimental pop. Yet, the cheery North Eastern greeting of the album’s title belies the tension and drama that lies within. Here, you’ll find visceral rhythms, warm electronics and multiple melodic layers, with words that are sometimes sung, sometimes spoken. Lewis’s deep, distinctive voice has matured into a rich baritone: portentous yet immediate - and it serves his material exceptionally well. Although he is perhaps best known as bassist/ vocalist/lyricist with post-punk titans Wire, Lewis’s solo work is equally powerful. Lyrically he remains one of our finest wordsmiths. His desire to edit his text to its essentials is smartly counterbalanced by an ability to seed double or triple meanings in his phraseology. Consequently, the whole enterprise is studded with lines and couplets that snare our attention with unexpected hooks and barbs. The album is co produced with Swedish songwriter, producer and musician Max Lorentz, who has worked with everyone from acclaimed composer Magnus Lindberg to ABBA’s Agnetha Faltskog. As ‘Alreet?’ clearly demonstrates, Lewis is still firmly facing the future and determined to unearth new sonic treasure. Born and raised in Argentina, Morita Vargas is an experimental artist and producer based in Buenos Aires. She manipulates her voice through reverbs, delays and whispers, singing in a self-invented 'language'. The sound of Morita’s voice is a portal into her thriving, dreamlike world brimming, shimmering and beating with unrefined natural sensations which stimulate something primordial yet strangely contemporary.

As far back as 2014 she began work on her first productions - early sketches which later became the basis for ‘8’. It all started off as voice memos on her phone (recorded while roaming the streets and riding the trains of Greater Buenos Aires). Later on, Morita introduced various instruments into her vision: kalimba, harmonica, keyboard, flute, tambourine, chajchas, and cajón. Composed and performed from that period until its original release in 2018, ’8’ features 10 original voice-led compositions that in scope recall evocative portraits of synthesized landscapes and rainforests, attuned to a vibrant modern pulse and enchanting vocals. Morita Vargas “8” has achieved a kind of polyphonic soundscape which evokes unfamiliar realities through voyages within and between the realms of ambient and experimental music.

In numerology the number 8 symbolizes the transition between heaven and earth, the illumination of our infinite capacity for various metamorphoses. Tackling ideas of transformation, mutation, cyclical processes, death, creation, melancholy, and joy, the album you are holding is a monumental and deeply personal statement. You are invited to walk barefoot down the mystical path and indulge in the process of spiritual expulsion and renewal that is ‘8’. The path lies along the route of infinite meanings, somewhere on the border between dream and reality.

From the pure Guinean tribal rhythm mixed with a collection of poems by Justo Bolekia, to the purest traditional jazz, to the hip hop & Neo-Soul that so characterizes the 90’s and 00’s. Omar seeks to mix old with modern, mainstream with underground, carnal with mental and the energy to move the skeleton, mix the relics of black music and transport them to 2022, where even today greater injustices continue to be noticed. and social and racial differences.

On this album, Omar Alcaide chooses to trick very varied collaborations, and take the album from the perspective of producer, composer and lead guitarist, even though there are some songs in which he sings. At his side, Juan Arance helps produce, compose and write most of the pieces that make up this album. Nils Patrik Johanssons Texte und Gesangsmelodien sind über jeden Zweifel erhaben, so wie es bei den ASTRAL DOORS schon immer der Fall war. Aber es war das Radio, das sie zum ersten Mal der Welt vorstellte, in einem Wirbelsturm wiederholter Airplays. John Peel ließ Außenstehende überall in TVPs alternative Welt eintauchen. Und auf dem Höhepunkt des Punk parodierten sie bereits die neue Revolution, ihre Single ,Part Time Punks" wurde zu einem Peel-Hit, und die Nachfrage nach weiteren Songs führte schließlich zu einer Session im Jahr 1980. In den 80er Jahren war Daniel Treacy so zu einem begnadeten Geschichtenerzähler gereift, der die moderne Welt aus seinen eigenen, verschwommenen Blickwinkel beschrieb. Seine Songs waren liebenswert, sofort identifizierbar und witzig, klare, scharfe Beobachtungen von oft magischer Tiefe. Treacy wurde zu einer Inspiration und unverzichtbaren Alternative des üblichen (auf der Insel nicht soo schlechten) Radioprogrammes, eines Mediums, das die TVPs zum Ende der 80er Jahre so gut wie aufgegeben hatte. "Tune In, Turn On, Drop Out" fängt den Weg dieses Pilgers ins Pop-Nirvana ein, ein psychedelisches Wunderland, das von dunklen und grüblerischen Momenten gezeichnet ist. Gehört wie durch ein knisterndes, Vintage-Transistorradio, welches vielleicht sogar unter dem Kopfkissen versteckt ist, so dass diese Skizzierungen der Gesellschaft ganz nah und intim Daniel Treacy's Psyche zeigen. Die Chronologie von Schnitzlers Solo-Veröffentlichungen in den 70er und vor allem in den 80er Jahren gleicht einem Buch mit sieben Siegeln. In zeitweise sehr kurzen Abständen brachte Schnitzler seine Musik teils auf analogen Kassetten, teils auf LPs heraus, nicht selten als "private releases", das heißt in eigener Regie und ohne Hilfe eines Labels oder professioneller Vertriebe. Das gelbe Album beispielsweise erschien 1981 als LP auf dem Label der Kunstgalerie von René Block in Berlin, nachdem Schnitzler bereits eine Reihe anderer Tonträger auf diversen Labels herausgebracht hatte. Tatsächlich ist die Musik des gelben Albums aber bereits 1974 als "The Black Cassette" in wahrscheinlich sehr geringer Stückzahl von Schnitzler selbst vertrieben worden. Das gelbe Album hat den Untertitel "12 Stücke aus dem Jahr 1974". Schon das deutet auf etwas Neues hin, denn bis dahin gingen Schnitzlers Stücke grundsätzlich über die ganze Platten- bzw. Kassettenseite. Hier versucht er sich nun erstmals an einer kürzeren Form. Außerdem neu: Schnitzler lässt auf mehreren Stücken nicht mehr nur automatische Klangprozesse ablaufen, sondern benutzt seine Keyboards offensichtlich auch, um "mit der Hand" gespielte melodie- ähnliche Improvisationen in seinen musikalischen Kosmos zu integrieren. Die eigentlich so kristalline, anorganische Kunstwelt Schnitz- lers wird damit um ein organisches, fast menschliches Element berei- chert. Durch die Musik des gelben Albums weht ein durchaus laues, freundliches Lüftchen, zum Glück meilenweit entfernt von den senti- mentalen Plattitüden der gebrauchsfertigen Ambient-Musik der 80er. Das gelbe Album ist nicht nur durch und durch freundlich, sondern es dokumentiert auch einen wichtigen Schritt in Schnitzlers musikalischer Entwicklung. Das späte Erscheinen als LP (1981) und die fehlenden diskografischen Angaben ließen diesen Gesichtspunkt etwas in den Hintergrund rücken. Aufmerksamen Hörern und Schnitzler-Kennern war jedoch sofort klar, dass das Album eine besondere Wegmarke darstellte, die einen deutlichen Weg in die Zukunft wies. Schnitzler hatte begonnen, sich aus dem Korsett der orthodoxen Konzeptkunst zu befreien, um in lichte Weiten unentdeckter musikalischer Gebiete vorzustoßen.

In der Hoffnung, Sun Konkurrenz zu machen, startete Meteor 1952 vielversprechend mit dem in Chicago aufgenommenen R&B-Hit 'I Believe' von Elmore James. Ein zweiter Hit, diesmal im Country-Bereich, 'Daydreamin' von Bud Deckelman Ende 1954, verlieh Meteor jedoch neues Leben und weckte Lesters Interesse an Aufnahmen von Rockabilly-Künstlern, insbesondere jetzt, da der Newcomer Elvis Presley bei Sun seinen Durchbruch hatte. Meteor's Studio war dazu da, seine Geheimnisse zu bewahren, und darin lag die Magie. Niemand wurde jemals bezahlt und niemand wurde zu einer zweiten Session eingeladen. Irgendwann im Sommer 1957 machte Lester Bihari das Licht aus, schloss ab und ging, ohne sich die Mühe zu machen, die Master und irgendwelche Unterlagen mitzunehmen, und machte das Label mit dieser letzten Drehung des Schlüssels zum Mythos. First Word Records präsentiert das brandneue Album der hochgelobten walisischen Jazz-Harfenistin Amanda Whiting. 12 years after their debut release, Klone, hailing from central France, are back with their 6th studio effort: Here Comes The Sun shows a mature rock band whose musical universe has expanded over the years. xd H2 Rockers Revenge - Walking On Sunshine feat. Donnie Calvin (12" Version)

Debut collaborative album from Troth, the Nipaluna-based duo of Amelia Besseny and Cooper Bowman, and kindred spirit and legendary Mancunian free-form guitarist Jon Collin. A lavish dreamscape conjuring the dramatic beauty of uncharted mountains and streams, it documents both the crystilisation of ideas first shared during an Australian encounter in early 2023 and years of mutual appreciation.

Troth’s sonic universe, a constellation of drifting atmospherics, bedroom pop impulse and modern classical motifs, is deeply intimate and never rushed. Recent sides Forget The Curse and Idle Easel and live performances supporting the likes of Maxine Funke and Treasury of Puppies have seen Besseny’s soaring, celestial voice take centre stage, delicately adorned with Bowman’s synthesiser flourishes and homespun instrumentation. At their heart lies Bowman’s tireless collaborative instinct: his decade-long involvement in the Australian underground and his countless musical outfits (including contemporary trio Th Blisks, with Besseny and Yuta Matsumura).

Summer 2023 saw the duo host two shows for Collin in their former home of Mulubinba, regional New South Wales. Collin is perhaps best known for his playing, deconstructing and reconfiguring of the guitar and other stringed instruments, realised in solo works on his own Early Music and Winebox Press imprints, and collaborations on a trio of albums with Demdike Stare and live sessions with Sarah Hughes and Bill Nace. His unique style of playing, sometimes delicate, at other times frictional, refutes expectations of traditional instruments and fits perfectly within both Troth’s ethos and their lush sonic mise-en-scène.

The objects of devotion perhaps symbolise the group’s devotion towards each other during their music-making process, and the fruits from which they are borne. “I think, any music I have a hand in, is a dialogue with by the people I'm making it with. It's an ongoing conversation between people and sound”, reflects Bowman. The sacredness and ominousness of remote Tasmania is just as affecting, the interplay of Besseny’s haunting vocal washes, Bowman’s sparse instrumentation and Collin’s ritualistic strum evoking the eeriness that lurks beneath the seemingly limitless Australian landscape. “When I think about it, it sounds like being together at the bottom of the Earth. Watching, listening and playing together with no-one else in sight."

After an extensive tour of the UK at the end of 2022, the band decided to head into the studio to record their first long form offering. Following a passion for storytelling, they pulled together influences from Pulp Fiction to Fleabag, from Zadie Smith to Edward Hopper. They wrote relentlessly during 2022, diligently crafting what was to become this debut album. Released independently on their own Life and Times Recordings, Exit Strategy is a 13-track labour of love, recorded at Abbey Road Studios and Love Electric, enlisting the production smarts of Bernard Butler. The album is in two halves (divided literally by the two sides of the vinyl edition) entitled Galway and London and presents a multifaceted band, pushing themselves and exploring the limits of their philosophy.

Exit Strategy centres around a protagonist who moves from Galway to London in search of meaning, certain that, as the main character in the film of his own life, the solution lies in changing his surroundings and acting as someone he’s not. Both a mirror and a portal, the album promises encounters with manipulative bosses, evil ad agencies, a broken pact to flee to Australia, run-ins with the law, cheating boyfriends, drug fuelled youths, heartache, paranoia, social media anxiety and a drunk singer dressed as Jesus. Thematically the album races between emotions, between irony and sincerity, between soul searching and tongue-in-cheek finger pointing and ends where it all started, both musically and in terms of single rollout, with the nostalgic/euphoric first single Westway.

Explaining the album’s genesis and cinematic influence, James McGregor says: “We were always sure we wanted the album to be greater than the sum of its parts, so decided to create the world of a film, entitled Exit Strategy. We envisaged the record as a series of snapshots, telling the story of a group of characters trying to navigate through life.”

Hallmarked more by a philosophy than a sound, The Clockworks weave pop sensibilities with noisy, post-punk, rock-influenced stylings. The songs seem swaggering and dark yet often have an epic, nostalgic quality. They sit poetic introspection beside witty, kitchen sink drama to create something intense but playful.

With the release of Exit Strategy, The Clockworks have created a world to be explored, to be analysed and to be deciphered, but most importantly to be felt.

King’s X is one of the great mysteries in rock. Ear Candy is the sixth album of this American rock band.

Ear Candy expands on King’s X ability to vacillate between pop, hard rock, psychedelic, and everything in between. All these elements
can be found on this album, good hard rocks songs, ballads and everything in between.

The album also features the single “The Train” and Glen Phillips of Toad The Wet Sprocket can be heard the track ‘A Box.’

Ear Candy is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on purple coloured vinyl and comes in a gatefold sleeve.

Ta Kish Kan is an explosion of color, a defiant rush of life. Over three tracks, aka-Sol has turned their psychedelic approach to sound toward the punk roots of electronic music, employing modular synthesizers and analog sonics to recapture the energy from before dance became homogenized and hard genre lines were drawn, challenging the conventions of modern club music and embracing a wider and more dynamic spectrum of human emotion.

A fearless debut, Ta Kish Kan is an offering exploding with heart and dripping with lust, a love letter and a provocation, a rare invitation to hair whip and headbang in the club. The release is rounded out with a remix from Osare! Editions head Elena Colombi who further explores the space between experimental, post-punk and club music, dispensing with comfort and bidding us to embrace what lies beyond.
