It's almost impossible to don't have a look at all the rising talents that surround us - and the guys of Jamahr are surely one of them. North Italy based, Mario and Jacopo joined forces back in 2008 and since then they've constantly put a lot of passion and dedication into their music, working under the alias of Jamahr. Noticed by Yaya a while ago, they've also attract the attention of the European scene with releases on Rich NxT's own 'NxT Records', Sleepless Musik and Kina Music to name a few. We're super happy to see that 'Chordelia' EP is finally set for an official release, which also features a remix by Diego Krause.
'Chordelia' it's an opening track that starts with a dry lowend part until swing drums jump in. The entire track insists on a fresh and racy synth line that perfectly fits with the groove.
Stepping up to tackle the original, with a club approach, Berlin's Diego Krause (Berg Audio, Salty Nuts) use some vocal loops and a some funky shot, enriching the groove and delivering a great version of 'Chordelia'.
On the B side, 'Brotherhood' is about the special synergy between these guys, exposing the contrast between the gentle pads against the electric scratchy synths. The groovy and rolling analog bassline finds an intense groove with whispered vocal shots drifting in and out of the mix.
Closing the affairs is 'Qaacker' where pulsating toms and hi hats encounter mystical long tailed pads and synths into a majestic and dreamy progression. The break is just magical and it's studded with glitched drums and percussions. Definitely the perfect track to complete an ashtonish EP.

January is the month for dreaming, or so the saying goes and there’s more than enough on 2020’s Dots and Pearls 6 to satisfy the wildest flights of fantasy, as Cocoon Recordings invites well known international artists to once again rub shoulders with some of the freshest new talents around.
First up, Eduardo de la Calle & Romina Cohn’s “I’m Losing My Mind“ does a decent job helping us lose ours. Taking the classic DBX template as a start point, Cohn‘s random, spaced out musings elevate things to another level as they filter through all manner of machinery, bathing the hypnotic percussion in a lysergic glow. Fabe’s “Call of Origin“ pulls no punches either, the energetic, bass driven intro bouncing its way centre stage before expanding into lush open spaces with occasional melodic scatters and washes of warm pads that radiate good vibes.
Over the last couple of years, Adana Twins have rightly consolidated there position at the top table, so it’s a pleasure to have them on board with “Origo“. Like snake charmers relentlessly teasing and twisting the infectious hook line in all manner of directions, they demonstrate complete control of their art, pushing all the right buttons to bring things nicely to the boil. As with all Cocoon compilations the deeper you dive, the stranger the vibe and Juan Sanchez delivers a dose of trance-inducing, minimal techno. Abiding by the same dogma as the track before, “Narcissus“ offsets a constantly morphing hypnotic hook line with raw, stripped 909 beats in a classic mid 90‘s style.
Michael Klein’s “Continuation“ maintains the intensity as Cocoon’s Techno Tardis transports the listener even further back to a sweaty early nineties warehouse. It could be London, it could be Berlin... wherever it is, it sure sounds like home. Rico Puestel then snuffs out the candle, plunging us back into darkness. With “Perpetua Mobilia“ he unleashes a deep, prowling beast of a track that reminds us that just when you think you‘ve got a handle on Cocoon, it sheds its skin again, revealing yet another mask behind the mask.
As we motor on towards morning, Radu Dracul adds some bite to proceedings with “Spectrae“, a slow burning psychedelic trip with gently percolating acid lines that smooth out the rough textures of the preceding tracks before giving way to a cavernous breakbeat inflected breakdown. And then finally, Joe Metzenmacher and Borka & The Gang close out the collection, paying homage to the melodic side of Detroit with the quirky, idiosyncratic yet ultimately beautiful “Magic Talk“. It surrounds the dance floor in a warm embrace as keys, strings and bass combine effortlessly to produce a priceless moment of collective euphoria that sees us safely home.

With this episode, Plaisir Records wants to dive into a shinier universe, with House music accents but still with their minimal touch.
With a real sense of discovering talent, Plaisir team makes Max (Italy) taking care of this new release. Massimo Pozzi used only analog sounds to increase the quality of his composition.
The main track, Aural Water, drives you directly to what this EP is about: sense of Groove, Melody and a perfect slightly touch of synths. The first break reveals little by little the melody that will pop into your head to never leave it. Then, you'll be catch by the beats and kicks and a new line of synth appears briefly from time to time to make the track even more efficient.
On side B, Doppia Personalità opens with its rhythm variations that moves all the way till the end. Punchy kicks, synth breaks and bassline's incursion are all this track is about.
Anidride Carbonica closes the EP and goes throught a more minimal mood. You may find it a bit calmer but that's a mirage as the groove slowly increase to explode after each break.

Sungate's 5th release is titled Magnetic Field #1, a V/A made up by Artefakt, Conforce, Exos and Hiver. A magnetic field can be defined in several ways based on the effects it has on its environment. In this case, the environment would be represented by the listener, and the Magnetic Field would be the record. Coincidentally, there has recently been renewed interest in the effects of magnetic fields on biological cells, so be prepared to see where this EP takes you.

The third offering from Infinite Juju, 'CULT CURRY', pairs Schematic recording artist and sexual juggernaut, Joe Lentini (Philadelphia) with former Philadelphian techno mainstay SomeOne Else (Little Helpers/Tuning Spork/Get Physical, the list goes on...). Glue Music decides that wax is the way forward after a scheduled break with the previous release schedule being digital.
Glue's tangible music format will continue after Label owner Richard Seeley delivers his first vinyl release since 2007 on VVWI with the Maria EP 'Maria' an organic piano-laden house track with a moody, ominous, misleading filtered start which flourishes into a feel-good house track with compelling whispering vocals and layered chords. 'Got the Taste' zones in on the relentless groove with breathless vocal stabs and unforgiving deepness which conforms to a simplistic affable approach. Rounding up the EP is 'Maria' remixed by Berlin based Producer 'Beaner' The La Mission label head serves up a trippy off kilter-creation with a clever contrast to the original.

Having kicked off in 2016, Spanish imprint Clockpoets mark their third release courtesy of Freerotation's Steevio and the exceptional sounds of the Fairphone EP. Backed with a stunning remix from Clockpoets (Døob, Armie and Javi Green), it's a fitting representation of the label's penchant for stunning, intricate sonic-infused jams.
Indeed, anyone who's encountered the Spanish-based label with know that theirs is a philosophy that's passionately indebted and dedicated to all things hardware. As such, live act extraordinaire Steevio is nothing if not an apt choice here. Each of Steevio's tracks was recorded in real time and s 100% improvised on a Eurorack modular synth and Moog Voyager. If you're a fan of intricate, out-there electronica that moves your soul and mind, you'll likely consider this one an essential release.

Berlin based, Manchester born producer who needs little introduction releases the 8th installment of his SK_eleven label.
In keeping with the aesthetics of the label's previous release SK11007PT1, Sam pushes things further on Exrela, with the title track edging the boundaries of his sound, the stripped back full force drums running throughout, are met harmoniously with the otherworldly atmospheres immersing the track, while the addictive, polyrhythmic sequence keeps you hooked throughout. The B1 track "Maniac" tones things down a notch - percussive and lighthearted bells undulate while the percussion maintains the momentum and intensity. "Dispute" rounds off the EP, the cut harking back to his older, melodic roots albeit with a fresh twist.

Tale Of Us breathe new life into their acclaimed 'Endless' release on Deutsche Grammophon, enlisting a diverse set of remixers to interpret the compositions. The album's celestial atmospherics and classical melodies provide rich source material for the eleven remixers, whose contributions range from serene ambience to barrelling techno. Beginning with Kiasmos' version of 'Notte Senza Fine', Endless Remixes continues with similarly dreamy and delicate house music from Giegling duo Kettenkarussell and Sebastian Mullaert (of Minilogue fame). Highly-regarded acts Monoloc and Antonio Ruscito provide downbeat electronica and there are icy, beatless reworks of 'Destino' and 'Venatori' from Raster-Noton luminary Alva Noto and Antigone respectively. Eerie techno comes from Dystopian artist Rødhåd and Scuba under his SCB alias, whilst Somne and Woo York's remixes are closest to what you might expect to hear in a Tale Of Us DJ set. All in all, a remix collection that lives up to the quality of the 'Endless' album and takes it in fascinating and effective new directions.

Armando Mendes is one of Portugal's most assured artists. Ithaka is the guest on the album opener 'This Life's All We Got,' which is a lush downbeat song with pensive lyrics. Late night jazz house stylings define 'Things U Do 2 Me' while 'Acid Yardies' looks to the club with its serrated 303s and dub wise drums. Chicago vocal royalty Robert Owens lends his heartfelt and buttery tones to the perfectly deep 'No Regrets' and after an acid and piano ambient fusion on 'MS20 Interlude' there is more rich, spiritual and jazzy house ('Parallel Universe,' ' Khun Pui - Mae Nam' and 'The Melody Inside') as well as more synth laden and electronic grooves to get dance floors moving ('One Night in Bangkok').
The majestic, percussive and colourful 'Tropical Affair' is just that, then things get tender and introspective on the gorgeous 'Electric 88' before a radio edit of the classy pop house that is 'The Melody Inside' feat.
