Luca Lozano spent the 2020 lockdown sharpening his tools, using the time off from traveling and DJing to re-center and re-vise. As the pace of life slowed, so did the BPMs and the Klasse Wrecks boss sought refuge in the distraction that the studio and the creative practice can offer. 'Lozano 2.0' may sound like the producer shifting down a gear, but probably only with the goal of preserving his energy until the world is ready to spin again.

Picking up where from the last ep with heavy bottom end , driving beats , a spooky groove , all topped off with a dash of sleaze. A new sub-label of the longstanding Canadian electro imprint Suction Records, Ice Machine — focusing on old-school wave/post-punk sounds — is thrilled to present a new, deluxe reissue of “Pow Wow”, the debut 1982 solo LP from Cabaret Voltaire’s Stephen Mallinder. Now expanded to a double-LP, and also released on CD/digital, it’s a definitive reissue which now includes Mallinder’s early solo discography in its entirety. This collection of mutant dub/funk/postpunk sounds just as fresh and contemporary in 2020 as it did in 1982 (note Autechre’s inclusion of standout cut “Del Sol” in a mix earlier this year), and highlights Mallinder’s crucial contributions to Cabaret Voltaire.

Some words from Mr.Mallinder on the scene and era from which “Pow Wow” was born: “It was an interesting, and inspiring, time. The primal caterwaul of punk was dying and lots of really significant things were emerging from the fires. Much looser vibes were in the air and there was a much more exploratory feel. Punk had championed a visceral, anti-intellectual approach but in truth the real characters brought so much more to the table, and what began to happen - from people like The Pop Group to Throbbing Gristle, and emerging scenes from No New York to Factory Records - is we began to embrace the art of it all. There was acknowledgement of the importance of books, films, graphic art, and experimentation with all those mediums. We were just as interested in turning over rocks to see what lay beneath, as throwing them. There was a sense of new magik emerging.”

“Pow Wow” was commissioned by the Fetish Records label, and recorded at the Cabs’ Western Works studio, where Mallinder would spend his days recording with Cabaret Voltaire, and continue on alone into night recording his debut solo material. “I slept very little in those days,” he adds, continuing: “It was done on 8 track and very multi-tracked, so lots of recording, then bouncing, and overdubbing, to get the integrated feel of the tracks. I became very adept at pressing record then jumping onto equipment to play it - it was actually a very 'live' record in that sense. I've always seen rhythm at the core of what I do so I loved the layering of counter rhythms. The sequence/arpeggiator parts were all drum machine triggers that were played live. It was about creating a distinct groove so arrangements came from weaving in and out of those linear grooves. It was fun to play everything from drums, guitars, keys, trumpet, percussion, tapes… and record and produce it all. Prince got it from me!”

Surprisingly, Mallinder’s first solo LP would also prove to be his last - that is, until last year’s critically-acclaimed solo return “Um Dada”, on Dais.

This new edition of “Pow Wow” contains 14 songs, and is housed in a recreation of the original, iconic Neville Brody jacket, painstakingly recreated using scans of Brody’s original artwork elements. The 2LP vinyl edition is in a reverse board, thick-spine jacket, and adds a 12”x24” folded poster/insert, featuring unused elements from Brody’s original designs, sketches, and instructions for the LP. The CD edition comes in a reverse board, 6-panel digipack.

Traumer makes his long-awaited return to Infuse as he delivers his four-track ‘Portable’ EP.

One of the scenes most distinguished talents, known equally for his quintessential studio productions and he is his expertly crafted, hypnotic DJ sets, Paris-born talent Romain Reynaud, aka Traumer, stands today as one of the most in-demand talents within house, minimal and beyond. Releasing signature productions via the likes of Berg Audio, All In and his own Gettrau imprint, whilst gracing the booths of the world’s most prestigious institutions including fabric, DC-10, Club der Visionare / Hoppetosse, and his home venue of Rex Club, he now makes his highly anticipated return to FUSE sister imprint Infuse following on from his 2018 collaboration alongside fellow countryman and house legend Point G – delivering his expertly crafted four-track 'Portable’ EP this November.

Title cut ‘Portable’ opens proceedings as the Parisian favourite weaves together a slick web of fizzing synths, skittish drums and lo-fi synth melodies, before diving deep into the trademark rolling, laser sharp organic drums and slinking basslines found throughout ’90Stig’. ‘Duality’ opens the B-Side in emphatic fashion, raising the tempo and introducing a powerful combination of scintillating electronics atop of punchy kicks and resonant synth stabs, before closing things out via the sensual melodies, dubby pads and early morning grooves of the classy ‘Dueton’.

With House Warming - Andy Vaz returns with his 3rd full lenght album on his own Yore Imprint. Due to Andy's half Indian roots, he is lucky enough to owe a Beach House just outside of Mangaluru, South India in the State of Karnataka. - where most parts of the Album were written over a period of 6 months. In this totally isolated, entirely tourist free hidden spot, which had become Andy's second home over the past years, he found himself away from the usual routines of western life, to find himself in a position to simply sit down and create. The result is House Warming". As the Title suggest's - think of house, sure and no doubt- but here on this album, thought all the way thru from beginning to end. The result then is House Music in all it's aspects: The Soulful, the deep and the raw or if you want - Deep House, Acid House, Garage/Vocal House - the joints range from downtempo, elektro and even hip hop beats. Oldschool you may think Maybe in spirit, as entirely produced with analogue synths & the roland series from 808, 909, 505, 606 to the original 303, but used in a modern studio environment. Andy Vaz is someone who has been around long enough to know how to programme his very personal idea's into the music - without denying influences such as Detroit, Chicago and New Jersey, to create something that goes further than a simple reflection of the past. Self Defence returns in full effect with New Yorks one and only DJ Duke's (of Sex Trax / Power Music Fame) "Summer Madness EP". Dj Duke had retired from the music front for a while, after he had about 300 records emerged after his "Blow Your Whistle" blew up in 1993 and during the past few years.

Yore welcomes IBEX to the Yore Family. Tony Ollivierra aka Ibex, who is no stranger at all to the world of Detroit House music, known for his outstanding releases on Carl Craigs Planet E or his hot gems on 3rd Ear and Rushhour, returns in full effect on our 26th release.

Though Moving Vision is the fourth EP the Japanese producer-and-DJ has released on Yore, it arrives more than four years after the appearance of Tokyo Connection and five after City Soul and Butterfly - even more his return to Yore keeps bursting with fresh energy. A powerful, seven-minute argument on behalf of Kez YM's sound, 'Extended Sunset' bolts from the gate with a steamy house pulse that oozes soul and splendour in equal measure, and luscious synth chords and funky bass lines add significantly to the music's allure. Much as he's done in the past, Yamaguchi threads crowd noises into 'Moon Light Leaves,' a move that bolsters its party spirit and 'live' club feel. In a cut that's even more resplendent than 'Extended Sunset,' the producer works vocal accents and acid-techno boogie into the tune's charging house pulse. Unbelievably, the roaring throb of the third Track 'Weekend,' which pushes the EP's hard-charging vibe to an even higher level. Rounding out the twenty-five-minute release the 4th Track, 'Fixer' that's no less steamy as the track turns out as a pure feverish dancefloor monster powered by South American rhythms, percussion, and horns. Kez YM easily proves that he hasn't lost his touch.

Tony Ollivierra's issued a generous number of singles and EPs under the Ibex moniker on Rushhour, Planet E, Yore, and his own Ibex Music, and now follows up his 2010 Yore release, Meltdown, with Absolution, though this time under his birth name. No matter: Ollivierra's music sounds great, whether issued under his real name or an alias, and Absolution is no exception. The infectious title cut gets things moving with a bass-powered blend of claps and funky rhythms before chunky house chords and silken synth figures add to the track's multi-layered splendour. A jazzier dimension rises to the surface of 'Quick Release' when the tune's churning hi-hats are joined by royally swinging electric piano playing and luscious synth pads. 'Phase Down' opts for a purer deep house sound in its focus on kick drums, claps, and futuristic synths, though the track proves that Ollivierra's naturally funky side can't help but emerge, here as it does elsewhere. Syncopated rhythms and electric pianos emerge one final time during the wide-screen 'Find My Way' in such a way that a balance is struck between synth-heavy techno and jazz fusion. Absolution is an unfussy clubcentric release that finds Ollivierra getting down to business with four body-moving cuts that liberally draw on house, jazz, and even Latin traditions.

It's a journey through richly layered synths behind driving beats, atmospheric build ups and killer breakdowns - all married together with Tyrone Lindqvist's soulful vocals. After Brexit, we thought it would be a brave attempt to snatch the Queen's interpretational sovereignty over the colour purple. So, we have named our new record just like that. Of course, this is only half the truth, as we named all six other UV050 compilation records after colours as well. The purple one, this one right here, is the second to last, completely with the wonderful artwork by Leipzig's Doppeldenk and four tracks to dance your ass off to. Krakow's Chino shows us how to balance perfectly between straightforward urgency and mystic playfulness. His acidic FORBIDDEN VOICES sports just the right amount of chaos to make you go crazy on the dancefloor. Being a spiritual brother for a long time, it's actually the first time Berliner Johannes Albert releases on Uncanny Valley with his VISION UTOPIA, a subtle House bomb, that pushes just the right buttons to trigger your desire to escape into cosmos. Also from Berlin comes Lake People, who does what he does best with ROAMING THE STREETS: A subtle and razor-sharp track that points out that good dance music can sweeten your life everywhere, not only in the club. Finally, RVDS, one of Hamburg's finest, blesses us with MOON OPERATOR, a deep and masterful dive into sonic sceneries that no one has ever listened to before. Except of course for your expert friends, who claim to have heard even the most obscure dreamy Acid track.

Italian mainstay Leon makes a long-awaited debut on Hot Creations with Disco 3000. Set for release on 9th October, the three-track EP draws inspiration from a range of influences, most notably the early American house scene.

As the title suggests, Disco 3000 kicks things off in a feel-good fashion with punchy kick drums and an echoing lyric that states “making it for sure.” Groove It makes an appearance next, as spacey synths conjoin on a no-nonsense, up- tempo bassline to form a real peak-time dance number, before T-House rounds off proceedings with a fast-paced kick-hat backbone and infectious, echoing vocals.

A regular in the electronic music scene for more than a decade, Leon is no stranger to producing dance floor ready house music, having released on the likes of Relief, Defected and Crosstown Rebels to name a few. Performances at places such as Sunwaves and Pacha have helped cement his standing as one of the true heavy-hitters, whilst his recent releases, including those on Crosstown Rebels and Moan Records, have further confirmed his reputation.

After a brief hiatus, legendary record label Large Music returns with a new installment of their celebrated vinyl series. Brimming with solid up-front grooves, Wax Weapons 3 featured the top artists that are currently a part of the Large roster. The A side opens with the melodic shuffle of True Blue from Scott Diaz & Timmy P then closes with the supreme funk drive of United by Never Dull. The B Side features a retro flavored deep outing from Finest Wear aptly entitled That 90’s Groove followed by the filtered Chicago Jack of One Night In The City from ColorJaxx.

One of the most talked about remixes of 2019 gets an official release as Camille Luciani’s stunning rework of The Temper Trap’s 2008 global hit ’Sweet Disposition’ comes out on Renaissance Records / BMG on 13 December.

Camille Luciani, one of France’s brightest new dance talents, creates a stirring and highly atmospheric update of the Australian indie rock outfit’s seminal 2008 anthem, which has achieved cult status in recent years, featuring in the film ‘(500) Days of Summer’ and clocking over 260 million streams on Spotify alone.

“I’d been a fan of the band for more than 10 years”, explains Camille, “Their music was always there for me; one day I just decided to give them something in return and chose Sweet Disposition, which is a timeless track that I always wanted to bring my vision to. So, initially it was more for fun than an official release. It was only after sending it to Dougy and Lorenzo - the band themselves - that things began to develop. I’m delighted it’s now getting an official release.”

The remix takes the listener on an emotional journey, emphasising the brooding percussion alongside clever layering of the blissful vocal. The poignant piano refrain and swirling, intense beats result in a beautiful, yet powerful reinvention, perfect for peak-time dance-floors, which has already received many ID requests on social media. Major support has come from globally-renowned duo Tale Of Us who have played it as their closing track on many of the world’s biggest stages, including Printworks London, Gashouder Amsterdam and Ushuaïa Ibiza, each time receiving a euphoric, ‘hands in the air’ crowd reaction.

With the A Side, Moonlighting he brings some relief from the 2017's darkness. With it's glistening synth lines and warm chords, it delivers a sense of hope in a time of need. Dug out from his archives, the track is now over 5 year's old but now it's time has come! The flip side Yattering is it's ugly, dark shadow. It's conflicted inner life slowly reveals itself from under a razor sharp bassline, burbling to the surface as it breaks out in a full on panic attack.....

The second EP by Control Remote finally drops with 3 stunning cuts destined to become phuture classics in years to come. The founders of // DELIRIOUS EYEWEAR and Katnip met each other through the exchange of music and fashion. They became close friends and as you'd expect this would lead to this unique product you're about to preview. Heavy on the downtempo italo disco, dub and soul cuts, once again LdK provides the listener with an exquisite track selection and also found the privilege to introduce a fresh newcomer in the scene called "Juno" on vocals and some hot keys by Thomas van Dijk. Posse and Terry, who then dived head first into house music - and what a result! Having made his label-debut with the raw, bass-heavy roller 'Change Up' included on the V/A 'Liderlige Rytmer Del 2 af 3", Terry now returns to C.U.P. with the EP 'Genealogia', showcasing his unique style of tape drum
tracks, warm subby bottom ends and spacey funk melodies.
Artist biography: Terry Tester first surfaced in the 00's as scratch DJ for local rap legend MC Einar as well as producer
and MPC-badman for several acclaimed Danish hiphop projects. As a solo beatmaker, his works of imminent soulful, boogie and jazz-influenced beats has landed him production credits for Jahi &
Dwele, BBE, Brownswood Recordings, a remix commission from Marc Mac for the Visioneers project (alongside heavyweights such as DJ Jazzy Jeff and Denz), and most recently a neck-snapping debut album 'Horses and Diamonds' (2012) and follow-up 'Short Suite' (2013) on Mixed Ape Music. Copenhagen Underground Posse (C.U.P.) is a vinyl label and music family based in Copenhagen, Denmark, dedicated to showing the world what the scene up North is about.

Sludge laden “Are You Done Yet” by Overland showcases a hot and distorted acid hypnosis, weaving in and around a driving repetition of drum-work, deceptively low tempo for the momentous percussive progression and evolving sonic squelch. Sigsaly busting in to finish it off with the fully fledged hammering techno hit you needed, “Carve” B2-big room, XL rhythmical head-rush. Stomp to the beat!
