Inaugural release on Manchester’s latest electronic label Selby Soul. This debut 4-track EP from Alps 2 is a baptism of liquid grooves, cathartic progressions and spaced out synthetic rapture. Since debuting on the label in May 2017, East London duo Earthboogie has been part of the extended Leng family. In rhat time, Izak Gray and Nicola Robinson have delivered a swathe of superb singles and a fine debut album, 2018’s critically acclaimed Human Call. Here they present their sole single of 2019, a two-track fusion of intergalactic, terrestrial and tribal elements reflective of their by-now trademark style. Fittingly, lead cut “Creepy Steve” – a previously unheard workout recorded during the sessions for Human Call – contains many of the musical ingredients that made Earthboogie such an enticing proposition. It boasts a raw, fuzzy and driving analogue bassline, densely layered tribal percussion, dub disco-influenced guitars, woozy electronics and sporadic blasts of African style chanting. As if that wasn’t enough to get the blood pumping, Gray and Robinson have also thrown in some extended, rock style guitar solos and more cowbells, bongos and timbales than you can shake a stick at



It comes accompanied by a previously unheard remix of “Human Call”, the title track from their superb debut album, by friend and fellow musical fusionist Joel Harrison. His version is warm, woozy, driving and percussive, brilliantly re-imagining Earthboogie’s original version as a supersonic slab of peak-time ready deep house. The band’s original chanted vocals, guitars and melodies slowly rise above bustling, all-action drums, weighty bass, alien-sounding electronic flourishes, poignant trumpet parts and seriously dreamy sustained chords.

Nicola Cruz re-visits his second album 'Siku', released earlier this year to widespread acclaim, with ‘Siku Reworks’. The release provides the listener with another perspective on the ‘Siku’ domain, one envisioned in different corners of the world; Argentina, the UK, and Japan to name a few. In an effort to unlink the original material, Cruz has selected producers to re-work a designated song on 'Siku'; according to their own style. Additionally, Cruz has chosen to re-record two tracks whose live versions have stuck with him throughout a year of constant touring.

‘Siku Reworks’ invokes a psychedelic view of the original material, Hermetics (R&S) provides deep atmospherics with his take on 'Obsidiana'; and Nicola offers an acid-merengue-infused live version of 'Señor de las Piedras'; alongside an infectious and club-ready re-work of live favourite 'Siete'. In some ways it's hard to define Nicola'ssound, shaped by years of global touring, and every track here is unique and succeeds in breaking from the usual electronic music format in captivating fashion.

Wild Oats is happy to present this debut release entitled Pure Amethyst' from Caron Miller aka Q'uran D'Mar aka Q'D' who is another gifted young brother from Detroit. Our hope is this record adds some thoughtfulness, love and intentionality to your inner world at the beginning of this Lunar new year.

The visionary Tim Jackiw from the Australian Detroit and deep house scene, announces his debut double vinyl album on Deeptrax Records. His unique aquatic, calming and melodic signature brings us from sci-fi spiritual deep house towards late night +313 groovin' techno, all in a lustrous, dreamy and nu-classical style. All material was made between 2014 to 2019 by Tim Jackiw in his home studio, where his imagination reached the ultimate. From the playful techy driving opener 'Direct Access' to the deep intimate spiritual deep house heaven of ' Beyond the family' rolling into unknown territory with epic endless almost twelve minutes grooves from 'Solar' floating into the densely padded, heavily Detroit influenced immaculate 'Cryo Tube Slumber'. Music From Memory's sister label Second Circle returns with their first release of 2018, this time with a 4 tracker EP from French producer and Antinote via Melody As Truth affiliate D.K. aka Dang Khoa Chau. Titled 'Mystery Dub', this new record features two percussive house cuts on the A side with two more evocative compositions on the flip. Recorded in his studio in the 11th district of Paris, the release showcases a wide yet characteristic palette of sounds and textures the Parisian artist has been sharpening over the years: atmospheric/hypnotic strings, warm pads, dreamy landscapes and spacial rhythms.

Following on from the release of a spilt EP from rising stars Gramrcy and Gaunt late last year, GlassTalk Records returns in 2019 with the sophomore EP from Bristol's Henry Greenleaf, "Patent".

The unassuming producer has been making waves with his bassy 130bpm productions which seem almost custom-made for the later hours of dark club settings.

Since his debut release on Par Avion last November, Greenleaf has been focused on increasing the sonic scale and clarity of his work; something that's apparent on the whole of "Patent" but especially on the opener, "Inch". A true 'creeper' of a track, the groove and harmonic arrangement of the 3-minute build-up is somewhat

entrancing but then gives way to a head-wringing breakdown.

True to his previous output, Henry doesn't sit still stylistically on "Patent". The EP's second track, "Tare", moves away from the 4x4 structures of "Inch" and into more syncopated territory previously occupied by producers like Mickey Peace or Paleman. "Tare" is a masterclass in polyrhythms with all manner of kicks, claps and vox samples skittering over each other. This deft use of drum programming is complemented by serene and uplifting synth sections, cleansing the tonal pallet before the beat forcefully drops back in.

On the B-Side, "Caved" keeps the energy and the tempos high with supremely processed high hats and a rumbling low-end landscape. Here Henry Greenleaf's adoration of Paula Temple's music shines through more than ever. Much like her output, it's kind of hard to know which way is up in "Caved" with its ever-shifting

palette of sounds and grooves.

Closer and EP title track "Patent" is probably the vastest song Greenleaf has created during his recent mission to grow his productions in scale. It's a mammoth techno track with a pulsing low-end juxtaposed against some sporadic & icey synth pads.

This release solidifies Henry Greenleaf's already hard-to-dispute status as one of the leading lights of the 'Bristol sound'. Almost impossible to define; his work sits in that amorphous sweet spot where techno, dubstep, garage and a load of other UK influences bleed into each other to form something unique. Put your headphones on and let the grooves swallow you up.

Here's some good news: the second salvo from nascent label Nuances de Nuit is every bit as alluring as its predecessor. It follows a similar blueprint, too, offering up a quartet of cuts from emerging artists. Politics of Dancing get the ball rolling via "When The Morning Comes", a picturesque peak-time throb-job that layers twinkling piano motifs and starry synth stabs atop non-stop beats and thrusting synth-bass. Akyra offers up a dreamy, ear-pleasing fusion of rolling tech-house and spacey deep house (the excellent "Rizla"), while Karaba's "Floating Mind" is a tough but drowsy deep house bumper built around sturdy beats and squelchy electronic bass. Last -but by no means least - is Cosmic JD and Jenta's pleasingly wonky "Spencer Landoff", where off-kilter electronics, jaunty bass and inter-dimensional melodies ricochet off hip-swinging deep-tech drums.

Kenny Gino and Big Mike a.k.a. the Solid Gold Playaz both started playing records in the late 70's/early 80's. Having family from Chicago, who were DJ's and down with some of the big guys at the time, "heavily influenced our music and production styles" both say. "Living so close to the city, we could go down to all the legendary night spots. The Rainbow and the Warehouse, the Box, the Shelter... places where you could just feel the vibe. And you could hear guys like Farley Funkin' Keith, Ron Hardy, and Jammin' Gerald (the Chicago DJ/producer who is Kenny's cousin) play these incredible records". They both were hooked on the house sound, and would bring it back to their home, a small city named Racine, Wisconsin, located about an hour and half north of Chicago. They continued to develop their DJ and production skills into the 90's, but musically, weren't taking things very seriously until they met Chicago producer Louis Bell. He introduced them to many of the people who were building the mid-90's Chicago sound. "Louis gave us access... access to places we hadn't been before. He took us into the offices of Cajual/Relief Records and Underground Construction, and suddenly we were face to face with guys who were doing what we wanted to do... Cajmere, Paul Johnson, Glenn Underground... showing us that we could do this too. We did a few releases just to get our name out, and soon we had some pretty big named DJ's playing our music. We had DJ's actually looking for our records, and telling us how much they liked our sounds... that just blew us away, especially with very little promotion and in the limited numbers we were pressing... our music just started to build a name for itself."

The second release on Eclair Fifi’s River Rapid Imprint comes from none other than Santiago Salazar.

Following on from the Afrodeutsche RR001 EP - This new release brings 2 brand new tracks from Salazar - Piano Adjacent and Cosmic Powwow both secret weapons from Eclair Fifi DJ sets.

Santiago Salazar relocated to Detroit in the early 2000s to work with the legendary Underground Resistance Collective. Becoming part of Los Hermanos he continued the traditions of Latin Techno established by DJ Rolando in 1997 as well as releasing under his own name and as S², Seldom Seen and as part of Galaxy 2 Galaxy as well as an incredible amount of other music and projects for labels such as Planet E, Rush Hour, Seventh Sign and many more. RR002 Follows his other releases in 2019 including “The Night Owl” Album on Love What You Feel.

River Rapid is the new label from acclaimed DJ Eclair Fifi. Known for her tastemaking dj sets steeped in upcoming exclusives and unknown rarities as well as her essential monthly radio show on NTS.

Next up on London based label and party Tessellate is Ukrainian talent Alex Pervukhin, an Lviv based DJ and producer with previous releases on Recordeep, RAWAX and his own Laconica label. His fully analog setup allows him to build tracks which are warm, textured and bubbling with personality, with his music gaining support from the likes of Brawther, Varhat and Priku.

Alex provides three tracks for this release: some early morning euphoria via "10AM Groove", a driving banger in "909b" and the nice and deep "Like It's 92". Cabinet records regular DJ Honesty provides a weighty remix of the title track.

After 7 club-orientated releases that have found their way into a wide variation of record bags from Midland, Raresh, Ricardo Villalobos, Ryan Elliot, Craig Richards, to Patrick Topping, INSTINCT goes further into his sound over 10 tracks for the LP. Not to be missed.

French DJ / producer / singer Jean Tonique is poised to announce his brand new 7-track album with the arrival of 'sunny side up' due this October and will pre-empt its release with an end of summer pop gem 'too bad'. Having released his acclaimed debut album 'Well Mannered Frivolity' last year, described by DJ Magazine as 'slickly produced' and 'irresistible', Tonique returns older and wiser with 'sunny side up', focusing on raw, organic song-writing while still maintaining his affinity for French touch, house, 70s funk and hip-hop.
Jean Tonique's previous two EP's released on Yuksek's Partyfine label, set the benchmark for his imitable club sounds and remixes for Lana Del Rey, Outkast, The Kooks and more propelled him to the world stage. 2019 looks set to take Jean Tonique even further into the stratosphere.

Cologne's well-liked party imprint "Feines Tier" kicks off its in-house label with JOHANNES KLINGEBIEL's "Latewood EP". Johannes provides four Original tracks with a capital O! On the A-side the title track with its steaming pads and melancholic synth lines is almost too sweet to be true, while "Kontakt" gets the house party started, serious drum machine work-out and synth horns all inclusive! The flipside delivers the trippy "Cyprian", revealing that piano sampling still can feel fresh and inventive, and "Trancy Fancy", where nomen est omen. Danny Krivit is currently known as one of the music community’s greatest purveyors of top quality disco & house as he continues to perform regularly before sold-out audiences around the world. With his unique ear for what works on the dancefloor he has also become known as “King of the Re-edit.”

Kerri Chandler “Rain” is well-established as one of the defining vocal house productions from Kerri Chandler. With Kerri’s unique singing / scatting vocal performance “Rain” has continued to be a peak hour DJ favorite since its original 1998 release as the B side of his Mood EP on Nervous Records.
Danny masterfully brings those elements that have always received the biggest dancefloor response. The B-side is Danny’s edit of the 2013 remix by another equally well-respected leading talent in the worldwide house music community… namely AtJazz.

A firm favourite here at Futureboogie HQ, Ponty Mython returns to the label after last years ‘Pink Tango’ EP. Always ticking our Balearic boxes, with past releases on Quintessentials, Fina Music and Better Listen, Ponty drops three paradise purlers on the ‘Speak For Yourself’ EP, coming at you with added extra Jonny Rock remix! Dubwize vibes are present on ‘Speak For Yourself’, as a roving bassline navigates its way around steady, marching drums and Arabic tones, initiating a most heady atmosphere. ‘Barocco’ is equally as dubbed out; a cinematic soundscape is set to a dusted breakbeat, nods to Lalo Schifrin are evident, as Pont carves out a blissful midnight drive soundtrack. A wigged out, tribal space dance awaits on ‘Jealous Lover’, whilst Jonny Rock (ESP Institute/The Nothing Special) climbs on board with his Future is Now remix that’s suitably freaky in all the right places, as aircraft sounds pass over and tweaky acid bubbles over a chuggy groove.

In 2015 Superpitcher was invited to go on a safari in South Africa. He stayed at the breathtaking Tanda Tula camp in Timbavati adjacent to the Kruger National Park.

Apart from being stunned by the untouched nature of the area, he was also blown away one evening by a performance of the Tanda Tula staff choir. He was so touched by their folk songs and beautiful Shangaan language that he decided to record and produce a CD for them to sell in the camp's shop, free of charge with all proceeds going to the choir members. This recording has since enabled guests from around the world to take the captivating voices of the Tanda Tula Choir home with them.

Not much later, Superpitcher approached Autonomous Africa with the idea of us putting out a remix EP. It contains four very different but somehow complementary remixes from Superpitcher, LAPS, Red Axes and Esa.

All profits from this release will be split between Tanda Tula choir and the International Library of African Music. Founded by ethnomusicologist Hugh Tracey in 1954, ILAM is an an organisation dedicated to the preservation and study of African music.

Four vinyl-only tracks are waiting to be released: Black Chunes 'Supernatural E.P.' is a time travel that begins in the 1970s and ends in the early 1990s, the golden era of house music.

Side A begins with "Supernatural (You've Got The Funk Mix)," a kicking disco track with a Rhodes that catches you instantly. Timeless! "Back In Time" takes charge of the second track and brings you a classic disco sound palette and the energy of the 70s, including driving percussions and characteristic themes. Classic!

Two expertly executed Oldschool House tracks are on the B Side: "Supernatural (Naughty Mix)" is a minimal stomper with a magical chord sample and a groove that pushes you forward. "Funky Friday (Deeper Mix)" closes the EP with a touch of Jazz. Delicate house grooves round off this Black Chunes EP, filling you with the feeling of an overwhelming desire for more.

Bonn return on Polycarp Records with a follow-up EP of their recently released debut album „Forget Forgot Forgotten“. This time they are in good company: Frankfurt’s finest Lauer and handsome Iron Curtis set their hands to the original versions of „Le Jardin“ and „Endless“ and contributed their very own interpretation of the two tracks. Again the artwork has been designed by Atelier Disko and all tracks were mastered by Michael Jürgens. Bonn are from Hamburg.

Orbital London is born. A concept from the big smoke, providing a platform for the natural and raw talent of Jack Michael and associates. The ‘Opposite Visions EP’ consists of four UK influenced records, with a certain garage and breaks tip. The title track is somewhat sought after, after support from several heads in the London scene. A seductive vocal sample leading you to a bassline, asking to be played on a club system. Dogmatik boss Alex Arnout provides his take on ‘Opposite Vision’ with a dubbed side winding rhythm, full support from the experienced artist. Carrying on the heads down affair on the B side is ‘Ghetto Trooper’ and ‘Kult’. Heavy sounds for the two steppers, laced with flickering rap style vocals. Will make you move.

Released in 2000 on London's cult Oblong label, 100HZ's sublime 'Whisper / Funkin' is back on the streets. If you were doing the rounds in Soho back in the day, you will have undoubtedly copped some fine records from Berwick Street's 'Vinyl Junkies' store, the Oblong label was heavily connected to the store and to Bushwacka's equally cult Plank record label. 100HZ were one part of a pool producers connected to these crews and the burgeoning tech-house scene that was making waves at the turn of the millennium in the capital. Deep, sparse, taut and melodic production, strange sounds and left-field sonics, these were the ingredients of these extremely inventive and original UK sounds. Elements of breaks, garage, Detroit techno and more all fused to create a truly groundbreaking sound. Since '89, 100HZ's Lee Renacre and James Chapman managed to craft a few classics, 'Whisper / Funkin' is just one of them! The a-side is a sleek, melodic cut with phased, vocoder-ish vox, an internal monologue touching on the stresses of modern city life and escapism. A contemporary classic. Side-B is some tight funk! Ultra stripped back production, killer drum programming, the sound of gliding along through a futuristic metropolis. Highly polished and progressive late-night house sounds right here. Essential all round! The real sound of London circa the millennium. Check it.

Techno's inimitable duo Super Flu unleash a massive remix package from last year's critically acclaimed album Halle Saale. Featuring a wealth of like-minded creative souls, each reversion adds a whole new narrative to Felix Thielemann and Mathias Schwarz's distinctive tales. Formatik founders Format:B take the lead with a genuine anthem-in-the-making. Taking the chugging smoky soul of "Me Roar" and injecting it with a blistering synth sound that pays homage to the mid noughties, their riff-heavy remix surges with emphatic electric command. Next up are two wonderfully contrasting remixes of "Jo Gurt" from DJ Koze and Stephan Bodzin. The former applies an off-beat wasp- like bassline that revs like a super-charged motorbike and hums with harmonic vocal prowess. The latter, meanwhile, strips the vibe back to a starker, star-gazing experience that gradually rebuilds in an epic way that only Bodzin can nail.
