In these fast-moving times, where many acts come and go in the space of a few blog posts, it's becoming harder and harder to find artists with true staying power. Anu Pillai aka Freeform Five is one of those rare artists.

Following an impressive series of original productions & remixes and a relentless touring schedule, Anu decided to take a break from Freeform Five a few years back to concentrate on writing, producing & remixing for the likes of Ladyhawke, Santigold, Lana Del Rey, Little Boots and Roisin Murphy amongst others.

Anu has always thought outside the box. His remix of Isolee's Beau Mot Plage redefined the art of remixing, juxtaposing the micro-synthesis of the original with intricate Afro & Latin polyrhythms, creating a bonafide house music classic. Now Anu has come full circle, collaborating with Gambian griot and master musician Juldeh Camara (a member of Robert Plant's Sensational Space Shifters band) for his latest release Weltareh on the legendary Eskimo recordings. As a multi instrumentalist, composer, DJ and producer, Anu can skillfully meld the organic musicianship of Juldeh's Fulanese riti (a one string violin) and kologo with his own studied electronic experimentation and guitar playing - as one listen to this truly epic track will attest.

Prins Thomas joins the the stellar list of super talented artists who've been invited to remix Freeform Five tracks (following on from Tiefschwarz, Radioslave, Lindstrom, Mylo, M.A.N.D.Y, Ewan Pearson, Jackson & His Computer Band and Maurice Fulton to name a few)

Peter Croce has been making some noise lately with his Rocksteady Disco party and record label, and here he brings his burgeoning rework sensibilities to RNT with a varied pack of revisions straight from Detroit!

'Growing up in the 80's opened doors to the imagination. Like many of us, I watched a lot of music videos just when cable television was on the rise. It introduced me to a new way of storytelling - and because of that, I've always liked the idea of cinematic concepts and visual movement.' Ron Trent's 30+ year oeuvre has encompassed many genres of dance music with a signature, cinematic sound - organic, powerful, and emotive. His new EP WARM treads surprising territories, which to the listener may encompass unexpected influences, while maintaining that sense of space and narrative.

Balearic opener On A Journey feels equal parts Cluster and Yo La Tengo, with kosmische guitar and elastic bass entwining around a strutting drum line, while closer Exhale is a slow, heavy number with New Age and soft rock overtones, pairing natural percussion with subdued bass and deep, emotive guitar. Night Ride has the most familiar sound to listeners - those piano lines, synths, chord progressions, and earthy vocal refrains and percussion - sounding like a long lost production finally seeing the light of day.

Listeners may wonder 'This is Ron Trent' - and upcoming works are bound to also provoke this question; works that are dreamed up and created by one of the most unique and important figures in dance music. Whatever direction Ron Trent may take, what he makes will always be something special.

Kanja Records is sincerely honored to present its third vinyl release, based on a concept called Sunday Mornings. With this series of releases we will focus on that warm up, early morning, after party gems and slowly fading away from peak time music. Our philosophy behind this concept is that the focus goes to the tracks being timeless, and music that you can listen to in every time of day and night. Music that offers a vast variety, but in the end coming together in that sweet and warm morning glory.
Parallel Perception by Mau. was definitely our first pick for the first track on this release. With this release we went into a bit different direction, still keeping the early morning vibe, but the tracks are more minimalistic. Mau. brings us a very unique and a bit freaky tracks, that will be perfect for that early morning sets.
Vanguard by TIJN perfectly sits beside our opening track, with smooth pads and soft drums that imperceptibly pierce through the leading pad. Again a perfect track to play in that early morning hours.
Donnie by Mihai Pol is a really impressive track, again full of dreamy pads, but supported by a driving bass line, giving it a more acid like vibe. We are a huge fans of the music from Mihai Pol, so we are quite excited to have him on our release.
Yes We Do by Komponente is the final track on our third vinyl release. Another track that has a very unique structure, a bit more jazzy, but the acidized bass is making it really unique. With pleasure we welcome the boss behind the label we love, Tvir.

Javi Bora and IAAM both individually and collaboratively have been racking up releases on manyd of the leading imprints in contemporary house over the past few years such as Phil Weeks' Robsoul, Hector Couto's Roush and Steve Lawler's ViVa amongst others.

Here though we see the duo back together for their latest EP on Decay Records, title-track 'Poseidonia' leads with infectious, filtered disco loops layered underneath organic drums and a
funk-infused bass line. Jay Tripwire's 'West Coast 1993 Remix' follows, laying focus on swirling delays, bumpy drums and intricately processed cuts of the originals disco samples before the 'Madnax Remix' offers a more reduced take on things via stripped-drums, modulating pads and the originals wandering bass hook.

Next we see Javi Bora & IAAM's 'Sunshine' on offer, as the name would suggest a sun drenched house composition featuring airy synth swells, natural bass licks and an amalgamation of hooky
disco cuts throughout. Doc Martin closes the package next, an apt choice on remix duties who deliver a grittier interpretation with fluttering synth, resonant leads and crunchy drums.

Ten years and twice as many records have come out since Public Release shared its inaugural 12-inch with the world, and it feels fitting to mark the occasion of its twentieth with new work by a steady partner in crime, Mark E. The English Midlander, known as a peddler of classic house laced with the unexpected—sprinklings of frisky Italo and wiggly disco here, splatterings of taut techno and woozy dub there —made his P.R. debut with 2016’s steamy industrial chugger, Sky Horn, and has also been a frequent remixer for the Northern Californian label.

The 12-inch starts on a bone-chilling note with the titular track, a spartan warm-up that’s a creeping bass on the low end, wispy pads in the mids, and a scratchy looped vox sample on top designed to haunt your dreams. A freaky intro that unnerves as it allures. On the move now, Mark burrows deeper into a hypnotic groove with “Shelter,” a midtempo cyborg cut, half round, warm, organic percussion, half cold-tothe-touch synth chord sustains. The energy and urgency feels like new territory, but the execution is signature Mark E.

On the reverse is a pair of more melodious tunes, the shuffling cyberpunk groove that is “M-54,” then the prickly “Shinkansen,” which has a sputtered and bleary-eyed thrust to make feet jitter and hips shake.

A twist on the man's disciplined studio workmanship that we've come to know—arrow-straight arrangements, celery-crisp drums—that’s spiced with a few pinches of psychedelic, inside-out wickedness, devilishness to keep you wired, buzzing.

We revisit S-ampel's debut Decay EP with 4 killer remixes. 'Escape From NY' is given the remix treatment from Simon Baker, Sam Russo and Gavin Herlihy. If that wasn't enough Hanfry Martinez tackles 'Control S' to round off a stunning EP of contemporary Tech House grooves. Another essential Decay Records release!

This house project, based on the idea that electronic music is a blend of different cultures and music, started 15 years ago when Max began jamming on analog machines and samplers with different projects from techno (FriendShip Connection) to house (S3A).
It is through this project that he expresses, among other things, his taste for soul and House music. Such as his beloved artists MCDE, Floating Points... he uses the process of sampling as a basis to color his music with sounds of all his inspirations, he always add his own touch and groove to get his own vision of electronic music: dynamic, warm, emotional and dirty.

Although he discovered electronic music in 92 through UK hardcore with DJ as Tanith or Producer, his culture is based on a solid knowledge of house music, soul, funk, hip hop, making him one of the most promising house artists of the French scene since 2009.

He first came to Paris with Zadig to realize his childhood dream: building a studio and later collaboration, Frendship Connection (All is just a matter of time has actually been playlisted by Marcel Dettmann).

His residency at Concrete helped him to confirm his DJ position since the last 4 years adding as well releases on Lazare Hoche Records, Hold Youth, Concrete Music, Local Talk, Phonogramme and Faces. With these releases, his remix for Laurent Garnier on Music Large and his booking request from the French legend to play with him for his residency at Rex club and Concrete, gave him legitimacy and visibility in all over Europe.


In 2014 he decided to make his own label Sampling As An Art Records and focus on finding new-blooded artists and release his very personal music. A perfect definition between underground quality emotional house music and dancefloor efficiency!
In 2015, he released a collaborative EP on Uncanny Valley Label with Max Graef and Cuthead (whom released S3A RECORDS 03 the same year), made his first live representations and currently continue to spread his vision of music.

Welcome to King Of Kong Records! As a joint venture by Central European publisher, DJ and curator Artur8 and Scandinavian producer Anton Klint & Edvin Edvinson, it’s pretty clear it won’t be a yet another formulaic record label. KOK is all about the baltic sea connection & befriended artists from all around the globe.

Berlin-raised, now based in London Artur K / Artur8 has been DJing worldwide for decades, at the same time promoting countless events (including big festivals) and co-operating with numerous labels including Rekids, Golf Channel, Internasjonal, Gomma Skylax, Compost, Machine Ltd or Internasional.

Gothenburg’s Anton Klint is mostly known for his production work, releasing on Hivern Discs, Public Possession or as Tiedye with numerous releases and remixes on labels like Italians do it better, DFA and Modular. Together with Edvin Edvinsson Anton runs the infamous the label/party Tryck&Ton.

First record on King Of Kong comes from Tryck&Ton itself, which is a duo of Anton
and his partner Edvin Edvinsson. “Pathetic Aesthetic”” is a mid-tempo chugger, with elegant, but steady rhythm, unquestionably funky live bassline, skeletal melody that turns into an irresistible earworm and a splash of mysterious exoticism, which is as much en vogue as simply appropriate.

The already intoxicating original gets even more boost by a superb cast of remixers: Sean Johnston beefs up the bass and strengthens the kick drum under his Hardway Bros alias, while Eric Duncan/Dr Dunks let’s loose with looped vocals and sci-fi FX aplenty. Kasper Bjorke delivers a majestic sonic odyssey, where dreamy intro with a definitely “live” feeling kicks into a sunset/sunrise anthem before unleashing a proper hands-in-the-air dancefloor anthem. The record is rounded off with a joint remix by Newborn Jr ((Phonica,Rhythm Section International, Echovolt, Dopeness Galore). & label boss Artur8. The remix takes a different angle: darker, moodier, it carries a lot of memories of classic (ware)house parties - and a stunning piano solo. Adam Brocki aka

Marquis Hawkes marks his fifth release for Aus with another classy 2 tracker titled, 'The Phoenix' (Part 1 and Part 2). The Phoenix follows up summer hit 'The Basement Is Burning' which saw Midland, The Black Madonna and Gerd Janson all supporting at festivals worldwide. The Phoenix is two takes on one concept. Part One takes the Disco and House amalgam which Marquis has developed in recent times to it's logical conclusion, perfectly walking the tightrope between joyous abandon and classy depth, and giving DJs the perfect weapon for all floors, from sweaty basements right the way through to much bigger dancefloors. Part Two then flips the program with the same raw materials and sets up the perfect shot, directed at a big room House/Techno crossover, building on the foundations laid by the Detroit techno originators by infusing contemporary production values and a more modern twist. The Phoenix is something of a landmark EP for Marquis Hawkes, once again redefining his sound. We can't wait to hear what he does next.

Todd Osborn Returns To Spectral Sound In His Osborne Guise With His First Release On On The Label Since 2013's Hold Up (feat. Joe Goddard). Fools Finds Osborn In His Best Self, As A Shapeshifter Bringing Together Strands Of Various Genres. The Title Track Is A Lesson In House Reduction, While "different" Is A Chunk Of Bassline-led Techno. On The B-side, "back Whenever" Kicks Off In Proto-idm Electro Form, All Melody And Light, And "integrate" Slows It Down To A Walking Pace For A Dash Of Synth Funk.

Amphia 14 unfolds Vlad's debut album titled 'Division', spanning over two parts of tracks with different characters, dynamics and composition styles.
Drawing inspiration from the label's entire creative work to date, this album is structured in a symmetrical way not only musically, but also visually.

Having just announced his first solo Ibiza residency, Dance or Die, Nic Fanciulli continues his impressive run of form with a long-awaited debut on Crosstown Rebels. Entitled Miracle (Body Rock), the two-track release includes a stunning remix from esteemed UK talent Paul Woolford.

Beginning things in fine form is Nic Fanciulli’s original Miracle (Body Rock). Whispering percussion combines with the subtle plucking of guitar strings, as echoing vocals are layered underneath soft,
moving pads to create a well-rounded, moving number. Paul Woolford’s Endless Bassline remix comes next. Stuttering hi-hats provide rhythm as the titular rolling bassline chugs on, whilst toneful piano keys merge with reverberating, soulful vocals. Unique, yet staying true to the original, the addition of distorted
claps helps create the perfect dancefloor cut; but it is the re-singing of classic Jomanda’s ‘Make My Body Rock’ vocals that links both tracks in a moving, emotive fashion.

A name synonymous with electronic music culture, Nic Fanciulli is a DJ, producer, festival curator and
label owner whose career has spanned two decades. It was in 2005 that Nic founded Saved Records, an
imprint that is now synonymous with releases from some of the scenes greatest, including Adam Beyer
and Hot Since 82. But it was his latest release on Rekids, titled Understand, that further cemented his
reputation as a standout music producer, with a clear-cut ear for the perfect dancefloor melody. Paul
Woolford is a veteran of the UK’s electronic music scene. A prolific producer who has used many
aliases, the British talent has recorded five Essential Mixes for Radio 1 as well as holding down a nine-
year residency at Space Ibiza. His recent releases demonstrate his continued talent for producing,
including You Already Know, Hang Up Your Hang Ups and Story of My Life on Hot Creations.

Keep Your Mind Alive is the LPH debut for Rydm Sectors, an Italian duo that bridges classic New York house and UK garage and lightens the resultant hybrid with well-placed sparkly synth work, jazzy drum fills, swanky piano licks. Nightclub music that’s been genetically modified to be just as functional and fun there as it is laying on a breezy beach, soft white sand your pillow, crashing high-tide waves reminder of the nature around you.

Soul Clap returns giving one of Paul Simon’s most beloved records in history that signature edit ‘tidal-wave of emotion’ touch that has taken so many other classics and brought them into new light for Today’s dance floor. The nostalgia is in full effect as this 1985 anthem takes the boys right back in their formative school years.”

Instrument Of Change, the brand new label by Rotterdam's underground veteran Steven Pieters, brings together four producers who are operating on the fringes of house music. Mattiik (London) draws you into the depths of his inner realm with the infectious "Shadow Of A Former Reality". Nikolajev (Tallinn) showcases his unique lo-fi aesthetic on "Speks" where he skillfully drowns the listener in vintage synth heavy emotions. Labelboss Steven Pieters turns it up a notch with "Gamayun", accompanying a driving beat with shards of acid and uplifting strings. Chicago native Radius strips it down to the bare essence on the spaced out "Places Spaces (Solstice Dream Redux)". Solid deepness for the true heads!

When he's not busy in the studio or touring the world with his running mate Hans (Junktion) as Fouk.. Daniel Leseman takes time for his own solo projects and we're pleased to be able to release two vintage Daniel Leseman groovers on a piece of 10' vinyl for the
7th stop in our Kolour LTD 10' series.

It's the music of the space that extends between oceans and mountain slopes. It's the music of the space that is much bigger and much more adventurous than the four walls of a club look like. It's the latest record on Acker, and it orbits around a song from Il Civetto. The band from Berlin is a wonderfully multicultural bunch. Their sound is reminiscent of Gypsy, Folk or Swing, but at the same time it doesn't really fit any of these labels. Liberté Ana is a perfect example. Monolink turns this track into a groovy Downbeat tune that vibrates much higher than its low BPM count - the perfect soundtrack for laid-back afternoons or afterhours. PopHop does what he does best: Party. However, between the catchy bassline and the tight percussions of his remix there's still a lot of space for the soul of Liberté Ana. Umami goes even further and creates an ecstatic banger that has everything it takes to be played during the prime time on the dance floor.

MULTI CULTI

Jonny Rock is somewhat of a sorcerer, an omnipresent eye that gathers secret ingredients from far and wide—old school House oddities, hypnotic melodies of the Orient, the furthest reaches of Disco, the easy pace of Turkish psychedelic funk—fusing it all into his own shrouded code, a string of immaterial messages, both subliminal and lucid, that highlight his eccentric sense of storytelling and nuance. He imbues a sense of familiarity in his music, implying history that might not be studied but still feels learned, a quality inherent to productions born from a vast catalog of influence (and the inseparable sample material). Jonny conjures euphoric acid flashbacks, herds of crowds through Istanbul alleys, the misty morning residue from raves of yore, orchestral winds blown across the Aegean riviera, and he manages to concentrate their essence into singular details such as a snare drum. Both sides of his eternally-awaited ESP debut lean toward his dark arts—'Tye Die Techno' drives a relentless hard-edged drum kit that could throw an otherwise self-respecting Goth into a heated breakdance battle, while the title track and theme, 'Ode To A Happening On Earth,' plays with the imagery of ritual, fantasy and role-playing—but throughout this malevolent stew, there is a sustained hint of the artist's playful nature. No matter how murky the trip becomes, Jonny is always there, a light at the end of the tunnel, with a big hug to reassure that everyone will be OK. He is one clever bastard—if you know, you know.

Keeping the energy high in 2019, Sandilé presents just another excellent deep house record. Youre My Type arrives as a stripped-down junction of heavy chords and charming vocals, evolving into a groovy jam. On the flip, Fu stands out with its unpredictable melody and surprising, but nevertheless refreshing break-beat style influences, complementing a heavy house burner. Seb Wildblood releases for the first time on the youngest of his three labels 'All My Thoughts' with a genre spinning collection of tracks.

Forgot 002 is the second release from London based record label Forgot. The compilation is comprised of four tracks by four different artists: Forgot residents Hoffy and Joe S both return, while newcomers Lavan and Cass Brooker also contribute.

Since its release campaign launched earlier this year, the Forgot 002 compilation has received a wealth of positive feedback from a number of revered and respected DJs such as Dom Servini, Asian Hawk, Jason Pulaski and Dr. Best.

Kerri Chandler's mighty Kaoz Theory welcomes an appropriately colossal figure from the dance world for its next EP, with Canadian artist Art Department aka Jonny White serving up four fantastic new tracks.

Now the lone force behind the world-famous Art Department project, White also heads up the decade strong No.19 Music as well as more recent label additions Social Experiment & Sunday Money. On tour, he can be found at the world's leading clubs and festivals laying down emotive, forward thinking sets of underground house and techno that continue to evolve and inspire. His CV doesn't stop there, with a passionate commitment to wildlife conservation leading to the formation of Music Against Animal Cruelty (MAAC), a non-profit organization which has seen White rally support from the music industry to make a real difference to a vital cause. Add to this his recent partnership in leading label and distribution company Subwax Bcn and it's clear that White is a man on a mission.

As ever with Art Department, these latest tracks show another subtle evolution of sound, kicking off with the superb 'Industry.' This is a roller coaster ride through raw organic grooves with swirling pads and subtle vocal cries all layering up the intensity and guaranteeing a huge reaction. The equally impactful 'Exit to Eden' takes on a more swinging house vibe, with brilliantly loose drums shuffling along with a New York feel. Again, soulful vocal samples add steaminess to the groove, delivering a cut that is destined to lift the mood wherever it's dropped.

The kicking 'Boa' picks up the pace once more with smart drum programming that gets you on your toes. It's upright and driving, with raw hits and huge kicks powering you along as a timeless and nimble bassline bounces about down low. Closing things down in style, the excellent 'Madbar' is another high impact house cut with edgy chord stabs and bristling drums. The whole thing brims with house charm and is a perfect closing opus to the accomplished package.

These latest four offerings from Art Department mark another high for Kerri Chandler's always on-point Kaoz Theory.
