Slam City Jams are back with their first compilation. A 4-tracker packed up with five amazing artists from all over the globe. And let's face it: It's a breaky affair! Starting off with our Munich homeboys from COEO. Known for their funked up house tunes on Toy Tonics, they start into complete new realms this time. ‚Never Going Home' is the perfect example of a dope broken beat electro tune, that with it's weird synth line & smooth breakdown never failed on a gig in the last months. On A2 the man Doppelate from London (Let's Go Swimming Rec.) exactly hits the spot with mezmerizing synths, tight drum programming and a crunchy acid bassline on ‚Four Feet Up The Stairs'. The flip side starts off with label head honchos Rhode & Brown, who teamed up with their buddy Leo Woelfel from Austria, both known for releases on Toy Tonics, Public Possession or Let's Play House. Here the name ‚More Drama (Less Hysteria)' says it all: Pure drama on this breaky acid tune! To round up this great package we've got Marco Lazovic from Moscow on B2. He digs deep ‚In The Jungle' with rolling 707 drums, dreamy synths and this tropical atmosphere we can't get enough of.it.

A new label from Hugo Mendez, co-founder of Sofrito ! A series dedicated to cross-cultural experimentation, kicking off with this exhilarating dive into the African underground of 1980s Paris: a four-track EP from Congolese singer Albert Siassia, backed by a group of young French dreads, rechristened Tokobina — 'let's dance,' in Lingala — for the occasion. A mixture of post-punk, rumba, afro-disco and reggae, in two dancefloor sureshots reviving their sole 12' from back in the day, plus previously unreleased fire from the same session.
Time out of joint EP " is a new The Black Tone adventure, based on his long passion for time anomalies, frequencies interactions and sci- fi novels. His proto-futuristic house will bring you to the outer limits of the reality where you'll find the door to the Upside down world! We are glad to add an underground groovy & elegant Remix by the rising star: Michael James (Zoo Project / Constant Sound).

What can be said about the girl whose greatest friend was the Mist
It can be said she was never short of adventure, for each time the Mist cleared, it had a new surprise. Rabbits and rocking horses came out of hats the size of hills, armies of ants played in marching bands, deer danced, giraffes juggled, elephants tap-danced atop the moon, flowers bloomed in the sky, and stars shone on the ground, because, why can't down be up
With the Mist there was always the kind of hocus pocus that twisted itself into a pocus hocus, a shenanigan or a hijinks so high it could not be jinxed, but it had to be jumped ... By a fish flown by a boy from out of town ... It was enough to make her giddy with happy.

After years of successful parties it's time for the Tropical Animals team to move on to the next phase. This time, it is Whitesquare (2020Vision - Freerange Rec) who will have his music pressed on wax for the brand new Florence-based label. The artist delivers In Light EP, which includes three mesmerising exclusive tracks: "Limitation", an incessant vortex with acid nuances, following "Velvet Room", a romantic melody driven by lush textures; at the end, we find "Pressing Point", a climax of primordial rhythms and synths. Spirals of sounds, uncontaminated electronic atmospheres and emotions that intersect memories lost in time. Deep deep down, far far in.

Tiago's wonderful INTERZONA13 deliver another duo of mesmerising, psychedelic club jams from STELLAR OM SOURCE
A message from Tiago...I met C ages ago when both of us were traveling Europe with our separate experimental music units.
Fast forward to today and we got together again to put out this amazing rocket showcasing her latest work.
Recorded at club Lux in Lisbon in a Interzona13 effort on putting together the city's finest to wrap it with much talent in music engineering, design and poetry in one single object.
This is the second edition of the compilation series of the Tijuana based club Wherehouse. Curated by Soul Of Hex, gathers sounds of his friends, Roman Rauch (Philpot), Moony Me (Uncanny Valley), and a collaboration between NY*AK & Mark Hand (Technicolour). Starting off the record, ''Mindeasy'', is a slap bass jam funk (played by Soul Of Hex himself) melodic arpeggios, and tr 707 percussive works. On the second track of the A side, it follows with ''Eu4ia'', a MPC groover, composed of rhodes and uplifting sophisticated beats. On the other side we have ''Daydreamin'', which is a R&B influenced track, feel good created by the venezuelan born, Eduardo Arreaza aka Moony Me. ''Can't You See'' is a slow groover, full tremolo rhodes played by Mark Hand and beats by the magician, NY*AK. The concept is simple, this is hand crafted computer music, as shown in the artwork, made for the eternity.

In 2015, something magical happened. We met a couple of talented young Swedes named Artur Bra¨ndstro¨m and Egil Kahlbom who excelled at composing and producing these lighthearted, breezy disco-hued house tracks (or house- hued disco tracks, perhaps) that both fit the aesthetic and character of LPH and brought something new into the fold. The result of that first encounter was Marathons, a full-length album, their debut to the world, and now, two years later, we're back for the much-anticipated follow-up.
Rehearsal is a little briefer than its predecessor—it's five tracks—and has a markedly different tone, one that's less about dusty, sun-bleached samples and more about tightly-engineered and delicately-crafted songs. If the first effort was marked by its carefree naivete´, the sophomore effort is, well, something a bit more advanced or, perhaps, rehearsed.
What hasn't changed, though, is these guys' ability to home in on grooves and coax something trasncednetally hooky, memorable out of them. The five tracks contained here are low-key in attitude but powerful and punchy in approach. They're uniquely juicy, nourishing numbers for mellow hours and fearlessly fun ditties for party hours.Lots of love went into the lot of them, and we hope all's you feel when you let them wash over you is that. Love.

British producer Zepherin Saint has always been a man with a fierce passion for quality-strewn, vocal heavy deep house. A thoroughly captivating affair throughout, 'Butterflies' sees the producer return to his Tribe Records imprint alongside regular vocal collaborator, Miranda Nicole.Kicking off the release is the 'Tribe Vocal Mix'- full of hazy, fuzzy sounds that play out beautifully. A refined house cut, it's made all the more mesmerising by Nicole's sultry vocal contribution. A perfect foil to Zepherin Saint's beats, the coming together of both is truly a joy to behold. Bolstering the latter is a live mix, as well as an instrumental version, named here as the 'Tribestrumental' offering.
Zepherin Saint is a truly exciting artist and one whose stock continues to rise thanks to his infectious-sounding, afro-tinged house sound.

We like to present you the first limited hand stamped vinyl only record on our new sublabel Whyte Numbers, featuring 4 original cuts from Germany's House talent Interstate and out on the first week of July.Matthias Fiedler's imprint Blaq Numbers has been delivering solid raw House records with a particularly experimental forward thinking vibe over the past few months. The label has put out music from the likes of Peter Clamat, Fede LNG, Lootbeg, Ranko, Odysea and Fiedler himself and it's been already played by german maestro Move D and supported by the likes of Sampling As An Art, Tom Trago, Nachtbraker, Roman Rauch, Mathias Kaden and more. Next month the label presents the first record on the sublabel Whyte Numbers, coming from young producer Interstate. Although the producer is just 17 years old, you won't find the usual standard House tracks, but an extremely diversified range of influences that makes this EP a gem and Interstate definitely one to watch. The EP opens with the 808 Miami Bass influenced 'Gangster Rap', driven by in your face melodic synths and rapping sampled vocals. The A2 is the monstrous 'You Kno, i Kno', the perfect combination of relentless drum machine grooves, House pads and a constantly changing bassline. Watch out for this one on the dance floor. On the flip side he drops 'I want this groove to never end' and we couldn't agree more with the title: a raw 4/4 straight House beat and a powerful melodic bassline drive this hypnotic floorfiller - fans of Palms Trax will dig this. The EP closes with 'Mind Games', a Old School inspired gem: the track is permeated by a strong soulful atmosphere, with the twist of the unforgettable vocal sample taken from The S.O.U.L Experience ft. Melvin Canady.Early support by: Andy Hart, Black Loops, Chasing Kurt, DJ T.,Freund der Familie, Frits Wentink, Hector Couto, Hunee, Jovonn, KRL, Loz Goddard, Luke Solomon, Luna City Express, Rainer Trueby, Robert Owens, Roman Rauch, Saine, Sello, Urulu, youANDme and many more...

A long time ago, in a Norway far far away in time, keyboardist Bugge Wesseltoft introduced his New Conception of Jazz to the world. We're talking about the late 90s, when Bugge's cosmopolitan blend of jazz, hiphop and techno beats was pretty much the coolest music coming out of Norway at that moment. That was a golden time for Norwegian music, in fact, when the rest of the world began to sit up and take notice that something was stirring up north, and realised the music was more than just glacial tones hurtled from icy mountaintops and frozen lakes. This was the sound of urban Scandinavia.
A few years later came the electronic dance genre 'space disco'. Along with Todd Terje, Bjørn Torske and Lindstrøm, Prins Thomas was at the epicentre of this next big wave to surge out of Norway. Now, the two generations have come together in this exclusive collaboration between Bugge and Prins Thomas on the Smalltown Supersound label. Jazz and electronics combine for that energising vitamin D shot of Nordic sunshine.
The Rainbow Studio in Oslo is a familiar name to anyone who follows the ECM label - many of its classic 1970s jazz albums were recorded there under the eye of resident producer Jan Erik Kongshaug. Bugge and Thomas booked a couple of sessions at the legendary space with Kongshaug at the controls, and improvised some tunes in the style and spirit of some of their favourite ECM moments, like the fresh, open sounds of Codona, Egberto Gismonti, Oregon and Kenny Wheeler. Bugge had previously done a remix of Thomas's 'Bobletekno' in 2015 but this is the first time they have worked together as active musicians. The results - also partly taped at Thomas's home studio - fuse programmed rhythms, live synths and percussion, all captured in a sumptuously spacious acoustic.
For an even more authentic touch they called up one of their all time local heroes and one of Norway's most famous jazz drummers, Jon Christensen, who's been the go-to guy for Jan Garbarek, Terje Rypdal, Keith Jarrett and many more. At 75 years he's still pretty spry behind the kit, as you'll hear on several tracks here.
Make no mistake, though, this is not retro pastiche but contemporary music, coasting on gently insistent programmed grooves and bubbling basslines. The whole thing feels not so much like a consciously hip fusion of DJ and jazz musician, more like two great musicians totally enjoying themselves. Which is exactly what it is.
Key facts:
Bugge Wesseltoft is one of Norway's leading jazz figures. He set up Jazzland Recordings in 1996. His solo Christmas LP It's Snowing On My Piano remains Norway's best selling jazz album!
Prins Thomas's real name is Thomas Hermansen. His label, Full Pupp, means 'full breast'. He's released several albums under his own name, as well as collaborations with Bjørn Torske and Lindström. Check out his amazing Paradise Goulash mixtapes.
Ground is an Osaka native, but his soul is truly that of a nomad, traversing the planet, befriending kindred spirits found in humans, animals and plants. He is exceptionally receptive to the beauty in everything that surrounds him—the incidental music of a city street, the orchestral chaos of a scrambling radio, the syncopated grace of migrating birds, the simplicity of an isolated hand clap—and as his roadmap continuously unfolds, he accumulates a vast catalogue of visceral tools to musically recount his experiences. Sunizm is a cross section of the artist's process—an array of complex microcosms overlapping to comprise a thematic whole—gathering field recordings, found instruments, jagged electronics, synthesized chanting, and weaving all into a dense narrative that appears obsessively constructed yet divinely improvised. Logos is the first of two singles surrounding the album and is complimented with a monster remix by Bartellow (a fellow ESP artist, collaborator and good friend of Ground) as well as a secret weapon b-side entitled Discopazzle, which is exclusive to this single release. Attention all humans, animals and plants, Ground and the ESP Institute present, Sunizm.
Local Talk is proud to welcome back Marcel Lune for the release of his album Astral Palms. On this album Marcel continues to explore his fascination for melodies and composition and has created something that is wonderfully refined and thrillingly accessible.Listening to Astral Palms some may hear the influence from such great artists as Floating Points and Local Talk very own Crackazat. What Marcel is doing is fusing the two and adding his twist with enough originality to stand out from the rest.
From the opening track and throughout the album, you get the idea of this young genius' musical universe - music that aims to both soothe the senses and move the feet.
Astral Palms is not only offering a unique twist on melodious and rhythmic house music, it also highlights Marcel Lune' growth as an artist.
Deepchord co-founder Mike Schommer is back from a 15 year hiatus with an entrancing 12'' on Steve O'Sullivan's Mosaic Records. After withdrawing from production for an extended period, the enigmatic producer revives his legacy with an unrestrained session using analog synths, drum machines and cavernous sound manipulations. 'Invitation to Love' uses minimalist 4/4 percussion and unfurling delays whilst 'Remember When' explores echoed synth stabs in a broken beat framework. Lastly, tranquil stepper 'Into The Night' carries floating chords and cyclical melodies through airy acoustics. 'Anamnesis' presents three quintessential dub techno methods - offering a masterfully engineered package by one of the genres most revered figures

Our latest Looking for Mushrooms' EP comes to us from a collaboration between long time Dirt Crew resident Tigerskin and gifted jazz pianist and composer Grambow. We first heard from Grambow when his fluid key stylings featured on Tigerskin's Faint' in 2015. The title track is a suspenseful and moody journey, lead by live double bass from feature artist Das Eb". Building in intensity with Tigerskin's warm production and steady percussive instrumentation until Grambow's live lead on a gritty synth growls in over the top. A true modern electronic classic as far as we are concernred. Tsukiji' is a playful deep house groover. Balmy tuned percussion and shaken highs roll along under the light hearted piano which cruises along throughout the whole tropically touched endeavour. This track has Party' written all over it! Octocat' is a tougher italo disco tainted work out, tightly programmed live and analogue percussive elements push along, while wailing keys lick over a tenacious grunting bass. You can really taste and feel the long studio sessions the guys had to compose this great track. It is so much more than generic dance music. Red Fox' is a divine culmination of the pair's compositional prowess and dance music knowhow. A cinematic and spirited house track that glides and glistens via delicate piano, plucky percussive riffs, bright strings and woodwinds. We are very honoured to release this outstanding musical release by Tigerskin and Grambow.
Following his R&S debut, Afriqua (aka Adam Longman Parker) presents Vice/Principle, his second release for the renowned Belgian label.
Recorded in the summer of 2017, Vice/Principle began as one of Afriqua's seasonal music packs, a quarterly offering of original tracks shared privately with a small cohort of friends and collaborators. R&S quickly picked up the collection, which expands on the melodicism and textural depth explored on his previous release for the label, Aleph.
The extended EP sees Parker veering into psychedelic territory, inspired by the cosmic departures of '70s krautrock and jazz. The title, Vice/Principle, more a coy bit of humor than a philosophical statement, reflects a wittiness that Parker often embeds into even the brawniest of his productions. This offbeatness is active in the music as well, which makes use of his voice, and edges past familiar four-on-the-floor patterns with interwoven polyrhythms and modality. Vice/Principle is confident in its curiosity, harnessing a wealth of artistic threads into a tightly knit, futuristic vision.
Parker currently resides in Berlin, Germany, where he works from his home studio in the city's quiet Charlottenburg neighborhood. Born and raised in Hampton, Virginia, Parker developed his craft as a producer while studying classical piano and practicing hip-hop turntablism from a young age.
After several years developing a hefty catalog of releases, Parker has embraced his R&S signing as an opportunity to dive deeper into his signature, yet versatile sound. His successful winter 2017 tour through the U.S. was a career first, and preceded international events at Comunité in Mexico, Concrete in Paris, and The Block in Tel Aviv.
Sharif Laffrey can charm the snake out of any basket. This is his first offering for the ESP Institute. Side A's Tangier is a long drawn-out exercise, an endurance test of the highest order. Over the span of some thirteen minutes, elements bob and weave intermittently and layers overlap haphazardly—the type of exciting dynamic that's born out of restriction—as if putting down a live jam without enough hands to work the console, yet Sharif perseveres. As touch and go as this arrangement may be, there is something that undoubtedly glues it all in place; the combination of his massive rolling 16th-note bassline and his tough-as-nails drumkit is so good that, upon first listen, we spat out our tea and insisted on its release. On side B, Everything Is Nice carries on with loose arrangement, dirty production and layers of inexplicable spoken- word samples (a Sharif calling card by now) but this time we're lead to a melancholy place, the blue comedown to Side A's antagonistic trial. With his ESP Institute debut, Sharif leaves you mentally unhinged, as if you've smoked something interesting and arrived bewildered in some Saharan labyrinth. These two songs will guide you through the medina to score the black meat.
Canadian producer and long respected deep house soldier Damien Lee Ah Yen aka Trinidadian Deep returns on the legendary Shelter label for an EP of sun drenched, soulful sounds entitled 'Tribute Songs'. This EP marks the start of a new run of releases for the newly regenerated NY house label that has long been at the forefront of the deeper end of house and garage for over 2 decades. Trinidadian Deep's latest effort see 2 brand new cuts - 'Dear Owen' & 'Snake Hips' cover a wonderfully emotive and rhythmically driven pair of cuts that can work on the dancefloor at any time of the day or night! On 'Dear Owen' gorgeous melodic pads envelope around recordings of children playing far off in the distance, weaving guitars and live percussions drive us into a dreamlike state, a truly sublime and blissed slice of music indeed. 'Snake Hips' sees things move in a more stripped back, techy direction that still maintains the TD trademark deepness, a blend of detroit leaning synth notes and live cowbells combine to create a joyful mood that will undoubtedly take the dancers off into a new cosmos, heads down and hands up to the sky. A truly original 12" here and one that sees the Shelter label heading off into a new and exciting direction for the future, essential house music.
