House Vinyl New Releases - News

Norm De Plume has been quietly making a name for himself the last eight years with remixes for Tornado Wallace and Ben La Desh and EP's for Kolour LTD and his own vinyl only imprint Plumage winning him a solid fol- lowing along the way. His passion for all things disco and deep, dubby, un- derground house inspired by his musical hero Ron Hardy feeds through into his production style as well as his recently formed Peaches & Prunes party which boasts an audiophile sound system and vinyl-only sets from the DJ's. So when the opportunity arose to do a full EP with Norm we jumped at it. Here we present you with the Castlecrag EP, a nod to the Londoner's new adoptive home of Sydney, Australia, and whilst his sound may be more akin to the recent musical movements of Melbourne, the laid-back sun-kissed melting pot of The Harbour City certainly shine through in the two originals and Folamour remix on offer here.
Title track Castlecrag leads the charge with a deep mood-setter driven by a cowbell riff and filtering pads. The spacious mix and less is more arrange- ment ensures that the drums and rolling bassline punch through making for a track that sounds both unique yet accessible and demonstrates Norm's sense of musicality as well as DJ instinct for setting the right mood on the dancefloor. Next up we have Whole In One which treads a similar path whilst dropping the BPM's a touch and building up layers of synth strings to create a subtle yet engaging track to immerse yourself in. Finally, man of the moment Folamour gets busy on the remix of Whole In One working his magic by upping the tempo and going heavy on the jazz- inspired drums. By laying down a driving groove and pushing the string stabs to the fore, the Lyonnais producer behind the wonderful Moonrise Hill Material label has delivered a fresh-sounding take that will work like magic on discerning dance floors out there.

New concept for 12Records. title says it all. Here are 4 emerging artists with their fresh and not forced idea of house music. keep it real, no pictures, no posers.

KREATTONES fourth instalment is finally here and it is, of course, a blast ! After Jesse Bru's triumphant EP on our label, we've changed the formula and went after the obscure talent of less known artists to put together a four-track Various Artists compilation. The goal was to offer a diversified record to our beloved followers, without disregarding the label's vision, and the truth is... we couldn't be happier with the final result. Andy Book, the label owner, Lazer Mike, the wonder-kids and Fragoso the perfectionist came up with their finest House cuts, both joyful and mental, that make this V.A. a rare gem.

British DJ/producer Bearface has been on a bit of a roll of later. Aside from releases on his own Beartone label, the London-based label owner has also found time to deliver outstanding cuts to the likes of Exploited Ghetto, which housed his last release, the wonderful 'Moon'. This time around, he comes correct on his own Beartone label with a record that's notable for its quirky demeanour and undoubted eclecticism.

Opening up the release is the sounds of 'Mumbai Nights'. Although it gets us underway in fairly innocuous fashion, it quickly finds its feet thanks to a brilliant, whaling Indian-Inspired vocal that weaves in and out throughout. A whimsical track of that sort that's sure to be a hit with more daring DJs, it's an auspicious start to a release that's never lacking in personality.

As is his forte, Bearface then goes much deeper in search of kicks on 'Data Storm', taking us taking us down the rabbit hole to a place that's full of enticing oddities throughout. After this, the frankly bonkers sound of the electro-leaning title track 'Sista' take centre stage. A thoroughly intense peak-time workout, it's full of attitude and an indication of the producer's more gnarly and abrasive approach. All things considered, it's sure to get the night moving in an altogether different direction wherever it's unleashed.

Closing out the EP is the drum heavy sounds of 'March'. A broody track that's tailor made for the night's more relentless moments, it's a a fitting way with which to sign off an eclectic and dizzying release. The latest chapter in the Beartone story is a captivating listen throughout.

And did a series of studio collaborations in Stilleti Ana's amazing Helsinki based Haista II studio, and it led to this double vinyl underground smash album. Containing nine atmospheric under the radar cuts, touching base in slow disco, electronic leftfield house, underground hip hop beats meets krautrock and dub, and some live sound experiments. Futureboogie's 60th release comes from Elliott Lion, the uber talented musician and producer and the keyboardist and chief electronics whizz for the hugely successful band Editors.Lion has recently embarked on a solo venture, embracing his love of classic house, techno and spaced out cosmic disco. In its original form, 'Ectsasy' combines pacey disco looped beats, seductive vocals, dramatic sweeping pads and arpeggiated synths for a perfect cosmic pop experience.Roman Flu¨gel delivers a remix of epic proportions, stretching and dubbing out the original over the course of eight tantalising and telepathically charged minutes. A future Barbarellas classic in the making for sure!Otherworldy atmospherics are at play in 'I Can't Forget You', as Lion packs in a driving bassline and roaming synths into this techno infused burner! The darker vibes and dubwise sirens are intoxicating and perfectly demonstrates Lion's production chops and a producer to look out for!

People of Earth proudly presents Warren Harris aka Hanna.
Blessing us with a 4 track EP titled "From the Dark Sky". Delivering his signature bass licks and providing us with a vocal track on top of it all in "Last Forever". Hints of jazz, gospel and straight deep house throughout the record, all beautiful, uplifting and full of purpose.

Ahead of the release of Honey Dijon's upcoming remix album 'Xtra', Maurice Fulton, Ashley Beedle, Derrick Carter and Horse Meat Disco step up to remix records from Honey's debut full-length work 'The Best Of Both Worlds'. On the A-side is Honey Dijon featuring Joi Cardwell 'State of Confusion', Maurice Fulton giving it a New Jersey-esque lilt and allowing Joi's voice to resonate. Next up Ashley Beedle ups the tempo and the energy on his mix of 'Burn', Honey's collaboration with Tim K featuring Jason Walker. Derrick Carter cranks the pressure on 'Catch The Beat', crunching out the bassline for an extended industrial backdrop to Cakes da Killa's rap vocals. In stark contrast, the final B-side is a Horse Meat Disco mix of Honey and Tim K's cover of Aquarian Dream, 'Look Ahead' featuring the voice of Sam Sparro. With all the warmth of a sunny afternoon in the city, the London collective funk the cover all the way up, adding horn blasts for more of a house strut. Giving a glimpse of what's to come from the full-length 'Xtra', this is the ultimate vinyl fix from Honey and friends to tide you over.

UK talent Josh Butler has made a rapid ascension since he burst onto the scene in 2013, winning coveted awards from Beatport and DJ Mag. He now brings his production prowess to Hot Creations, delivering a club ready two-parter for his debut EP on the label.

Title track Anonymous is made for low ceiling, sweaty basements with its deep, growling bass and select vocal cuts. Doesn't Work swiftly follows suit, delivering another dose of rolling, after-hours goodness. A mainstay in the industry, having released on labels such as Cuttin Headz, Relief and Desolat, Andrea Oliva steps up for the remix of Anonymous with an acidic bassline and lively breakdown that diffuses into a carnival of synths.

Since emerging on the scene back in 2013 with his debut Got A Feeling on MTA Records, Josh Butler has firmly established himself as a musical force to be reckoned with. Releases followed on coveted labels such as Kaoz Theory, Rejected and Cajual. In 2016, Butler also launched his own highly regarded imprint, Origins.

Fantastic re issue of Mr. Fingers seminal 'Can You Feel It'. All 4 mixes in all their glory re mastered from original files for 2014.

Swedish producer Tiger Stripes, the alias of Mikael Nordgren, brings his techno touch to Hot Creations for his debut EP on the label this summer. Jack My Yum is a heavyweight three-parter that sees the Swede invite Hot Creations stable mate, Matt Tolfrey, to provide a stellar remix.

Opening track Jack My Yum is a warped and heavy roller with a smattering of dark vocals. Haunted brings with it a bass that you can feel reverberating off the concrete walls of a darkened club, interspersed with an eerie melody. Following his recent release Americas on the label, Leftroom Records boss Matt Tolfrey brings his groove and a bouncier bassline to proceedings with his version of the title track. Dunjacka completes the EP, with Nordgren sewing together a techno beat with broken vocal stabs, underpinned by a throbbing groove throughout.

Tiger Stripes has collaborated with legendary names such as Kerri Chandler, Adeva, Leroy Burgess, Riva Starr and Jerome Sydenham, with his brand of deep and futuristic techno seeing releases on some of the underground's biggest imprints including Desolat, Drumcode and Cajual.

Hailing out of Montreal, 00:AM follow up their killer first release with a four track VA e.p. setting their stall out as a label to watch in 2018. The Hutchin Crew open up proceedings with an ethereal and hypnotic cut, coupling sweeping pads with dreamy keys. Next up, DJ OK takes things darker layering thudding toms and atmospheric strings with a sci-fi sampled spoken word.
On the B side, Cromie & Iron Curtis let the pounding bass sit centre stage interspersed with otherwordly synthwork and that high hat fizz. Finally, Science Fiction steers things on a new wave tip offering up a down-tempo french vocal tinged closer to round off this stellar e.p..

A new vinyl reference from Onward Recordings. This will be the third release only vinyl, we can find tracks from Bs As deep, Joey Kay and Cotterell from usa, and Franco Cinelli, Who made a remix. Hi intensity House with powered bass lines show the way of a release with an artist supports like Danny Tenaglia

Bulkhead present their debut album - Aft Pressure - due June 1st on 2MR Records. In 2015, during the coldest Toronto winter on record, two old friends - Pop District and Patrik Benjamin - locked themselves away in the studio to experiment with a medley of hardware. Both solo artists in their own right, they had overseen their own projects prior, but had never considered how a collaboration might sound. Exploring the polarity of extreme cold and immersive warmth with a distinctly analogue feel, the duo carved themselves an aesthetic. And so Bulkhead was born. Using a raw, organic palette they repudiate formal structure and polish, opting instead for a freeform blend of unhindered mechanical techno and fuzzy ambience - slambient, if you will. Debuting in 2016, their 'Worker's Kampf' cassette album on LA imprint Far Away Tapes sold out quickly, warranting another release on 2MR featuring highlights of the cassette on 12' and digital. Continuing with the purveyance of abstract arrangements and machine wizardry, their forthcoming album - Aft Pressure - is a striking exploration of the intersection between frenzied techno and harmonic warmth.Fragments of techno and EBM mutate without strict guidance, rebuilding themselves into new forms with stunning physical qualities. Whilst many of the tracks might file under dance music, the DIY spirit of the album transcends a nightclub, occupying a peculiar space between the uncensored grit of the post-punk scene and some melancholic form of ambient minimalism. Angular percussion slices its way through dizzying synth leads whilst serene harmonies wander on their own accord. Darting melodies are made all the more powerful by their harsh timbre as drum-less excursions provide a cinematic backdrop. Aft Pressure is a statement of intent, blurring the parameters of dance music culture with equal doses of insanity and serenity. At the same time, it's also a hell of a lot of fun...

David Douglas has been a mainstay of the Atomnation label since day one, releasing several EP's, albums and remixes from 2012. David gained an international reputation as a producer, DJ and live performer. On the new EP he displays a sound heard at his DJ sets and live shows.

It'S 003 time for Earl's own MELANGE imprint. After the madness that was 002's Sure Thing, he's enlisted his fellow soul brother in arms, Byron The Aquarius to join him on the track Eira. A tribute to a certain love interest......

The PPA duo outta London is back with another burning hot 7inch on GAMM. Just like on the first 7" they go for two rare Jazz-funk tracks where they not only rework the originals but also add their own instrumentation on top. Song For You (by Popcorn) got a real nice boogie funk feel and sounds like an early 80's production from the UK even though its actually a rare Florida production. Green Machine is Jazz-funk original by O'Donel Levy but now re-tweaked and with vintage clavinet and percussion added over the original track. Another PPA home run !!

A new label services deal with !K7 was announced this year that will see the relaunch of the Two Hundred & Forty Volts label and for the first time ever the entire Swayzak back catalogue will be made available digitally on October 28.

To celebrate the re-launch and ultimately draw a line under the old material a 19 track retrospective will released shortly afterwards on Dec 1.

The 'Lost Tapes' compilation will include some of their seminal classics, unreleased versions and a brand new single from Swayzak & Richard Davis, all paving way for the new album next year.

The compilation will be released on vinyl over 3 consecutive EPs ahead of the digital release

The return of Timothy J Fairplay sees tracks from his 2 EPs on Emotional Response remixed on one special release. Four favourite producers chosen to bring new dimensions to his brooding, shuffling electronics, featuring Scientific Dreamz Of U, Alessandro Parisi, Perseus Trax and Antenna.Part of the label since inception, the last five years have seen TJF's career explode with releases on Bird Scarer, Charlois and Hoga Nord, setting up the Crimes Of The Future label with Scott Fraser and releasing an album alongside Andrew Weatherall as The Asphodells. His EPs for Emotional Response saw some of his strongest, deep and dubbed out productions that marked their own terrain and these reworks have been a long term project. Starting with a trance inducing breaks-dub of Stories of Prison from Scientic Dreamz Of U and you understand why this mysterious producer has become a cult in his own dreamtime, as subs bump this vortexed revision to its own portal.
Next Alessandro Parisi implants his cyber-electro-harmonies to Aim For The Yellow Sector. Fairplay's late night drive-by is respectfully given a future-retro mix, gliding away from East London's dank streets to mysterious plains and beyond. Things take an analogue twist for the flip with Perseus Traxx showing his love for Chi town on his remix of Saco Bay. A bumpin' bass sets the motion, mixing the swirling original to basement vibes x 10. Win win win.
Kindred spirit and fellow Pinkman/Charlois member Antenna closes the EP with a deep retake of Night Ferry. After causing a stir with the killer Odessa EP and subsequent releases on Royal Oak and Beats In Space, a remix was a given. A mellow groove and optimistic keys is the perfect way to end this chapter of Timothy's music and await for new adventures.

AMMAR 808 is a fantastic proposition: North African music pulled through the vortex of a Tunisian producer with his eye on the bass bins. Maghreb United has a range of excellent singers from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia sitting at the centre of an ecstatic whirl of traditional instrumentation, distorted treatments, and big booming bass and drum patterns. Brilliant, energetic stuff, out on the Glitterbeat label.

Repress!

Following his first ep for Accidental Jnr in the summer Bambooman is now back with something entirely different. The downtempo experimental designs of the 'Feel EP' give way to his latest offering 'Shudder'. Available on 12' and digital the 4 tracks of Shudder weave through a club music tapestry like a chainsaw through custard. The opening and title track is hard to describe, a mix of off kilter synth stabs and hammering snare that routes you to the floor - it's one of those tracks to whip out of your bag to remind the crowd they have no idea what is coming next. Track 2 'Grasp' with a blissful Detroit groove under deep rich melting chords is a perfect blend of early funk house style and super crisp new production.Side B opens with 'M1' a lazy floor track with washes of bells, static and detuned synth above a bed of solid kick and shuffling bass. Finally 'Kyrian' closes proceedings, another club friendly slice (despite being in a 7/8 time signature), the track could have led the EP in its own right but feels like the perfect bookend with its shifting almost garage like 2-step feel and glancing vocal hook.Bambooman wields refined live recordings, warm exquisite melodies and a silvery vocal into the track's rich musical fabric. It's hard to suppress the emotions with this one' - Boiler Room on 'Feel EP'

An addendum horrificata to the fantastic LP, Haex-Hrll AKA DJ Overdose returns from the nether regions of space with a louder dancefloor cut of sleeper hit 'North Of Warren' accompanied by witchy and dread filled extras. Remixes are provided by label heads Antoni Maiovvi who takes Test Tube Babies from the 'Further From The Truth' LP into tripped out waters and Vercetti Technicolor, who reimagines 'North Of Warren' for blood-soaked 90s Hollywood vampires. Brand new master by Brassica! Art by Eric A. Lee.

This one has been a long time coming. Great 12's never get shelved at LDDLM, time is not the essence.

Benedikt Frey has been part of the extended family since his remix of CAR's Idle Eyes and we crossed paths a few times at Robert Johnson in Frankfurt. INIT, his project with his other half Nadia d'Alò, has seen releases on neighbours such as Hivern or Correspondant, our door was naturally open to their pretty personal brand of 'off-kilter techno' as RA says.

STEREOMETRIC is almost a definition of INIT's acid mind. Failing their own tricks, heavy atmosphere and unusual restraint. NUTS is almost an instrumental extension of the title track, when your head finally hit that window pane. WHEELS slows the rush down, wandering on an imaginary Khyber pass. This is only deception though, MINDWORK being a real exercise in post-goa trance.

Hope you enjoy the trip. See you after the summer.

AA: Big Love - RedKen - Big Four Letter Word Mix
This re edit of 'Big Love' by RedKen (of AOR Disco fame) starts out as a chugging, swirling, dubbed out creeper before dropping effortlessly into the original tracks timeless riff locked down by a baseline that just oozes class. Moving effortlessly through the gears with beautifully overdubbed keys and guitars it arrives at the final chorus with a crescendo so intense it will leave you wondering what day of the week it is, bringing this classic bang up to date.

Having recently resurrected their own Moderne Recordings label the duo bring their sophisticated party manoeuvres to Wrong Era for the first time. A five track E.P that touches on the classic sounds of Chicago, Electronica and Wave with a distinctly European twist the Belgian duo are a much welcomed addition to the family.

Here the third V.A. on Imprints Records! On board new and old artists, offering fresh sonority right for the spring season, enjoy it!

The highly anticipated third installment of the Sounds from the Den series returns via Friday Fox Recordings - hitting on Vinyl in early 2017. The release kicks off with an understated and rather sensual outing from Christian B & Lavvy Levan; 'Through The Night' combines subtle classic vocal snips with sultry jazz piano chords and an addictive off-beat bassline. Russia's Promonova serves up his first ever track for Friday Fox; 'Feel Alright This Morning' expertly delivers a high-energy percussive journey, perfectly complimented by some sprightly and authentically gospel vocals. 'No Trouble' has a fresh and dark lick courtesy of Riki Inocente. Bordering on a tech-style, Riki takes this well-known vocal track down a path less travelled with a deep bassline and eerie strings laid over straight and solid percussion.
And finally, the HUGE 'Heat' from Rapson gets a much-welcomed edit, stretching the track to a DJ friendly length, and features some added beef thanks to new percussion arrangements. Fire.
