This luminance seemed to generate in a distant source, yet had always been present - as illusion hides eternity. In this New Open Channel, a possibility was forged. A golden opportunity for the future and a resting place for the past.

Leonard Campbell's Much Less Normal was originally released as a tape on 1080p last spring, and has since become one of the Vancouver label's definitive releases. This welcome vinyl reissue on Firecracker is an invitation to see this remarkable album in a new light for those who already know it, and its new format should help it earn the attention it deserved the first time around.

It's a record that sounds like the city that birthed it: overcast and maritime, gloomy and gorgeous in equal measure. Campbell's songs develop and grow with the steady pace of the tides, as if his sounds and melodies are being washed ashore.

This record is pure Italian craftsmanship and brought to you by Mushrooms Project & Almunia. Expect dark balearic summer vibes all over this one. Fellow countrymen Daniele Baldelli & Dionigi gave 'Arena Raindrops' a cosmic makeover. Artwork coverage comes from the north of The Netherlands where Klaas Jonkman was inspired by the Rupicola Peruvianus to paint the cover of this record. Enjoy this piece of art.

International Black stick to their word and come good with another EP of high end club material from two young UK producers: Neinzer & Losian.
Neinzer, having released on Deep Moves Berlin and the Fabric affiliated Yumé Records presents what could prove to be his breakthrough track in the form of Weiblich - a devastating and highly function piece of sound art meets techno.
Losian finishes the job off with the heaviest techno cut we've heard in a long time - channeling Basic Channel and passing it through a UK sound-system filter to create a monster ready for the Berghain peak-time dance-floor.

Closing out the year with a 4 track EP from producer Colm K. Inspired by a variety of styles and musical sources with one common thread throughout: samples. 2 tracks for the dancefloor and 2 dusty reprises, most of the music found here is a collage of sounds that zig zags from the soulful thump of Seeing to the laid back strain of Summary.

Swiss pair Domo are back on their own Framework label with another fine EP featuring two fresh and inventive cuts This well established Swiss duo have already served up the first two EPs on this label proving they have a sound that mixes up classic Detroit and Berlin sounds with their own vivid imaginations and a love of tech house. They also work as live performers who focus on spontaneity, and that certainly shows here.Opening the EP is the loose and expressive 'La Kuika', which is a flurry of hi hats, bird calls and tribal drums that take you right to the heart of a jungle. It has tumbling bass and rawness in the textures that really make it jump out of the speakers. Once this one gets dropped on the floor, it's sure to get big reactions. Just as stuffed with feeling is 'Hidden Slice', which is more heavyweight and poised, with huge kick drums dropping from a great height and knotted little melodic riffs play out over and over to bring a hypnotic feel whilst
rolling hi hats add another layer of depth. This one is an early evening but party pumping house music that has real feeling.
Once again here the duo show they have an authentic house style that is lived in and full of charm and character.

We are delighted to present this special pair of tracks from Spanish producer and DJ Kiko Navarro on glorious 12 vinyl, providing a glimpse of his much anticipated forthcoming album 'Everything Happens For A Reason'. Opening track 'Twilight' will need no introduction for crate diggers and 80's club kids. A complete remaking of the Maze classic, Kiko's version raises the tempo into deep house territory, retaining the dreamy, sensual feel of Frankie Beverly's original. Providing a sumptuous taste of the oldschool, Kiko's own acid-laden, energetic dub version of 'Twilight' is sure to wreak havoc on the dance-floor, with perhaps a little hint of good old fashioned euphoria as it reaches it's synth string-filled climax. On the B-Side 'Cranc' provides a raw, analogue, Detroit-esque synth jam, building an intense groove with an insistent, wrongfooting bassline underpinning dizzying arpeggios, jazzy stabs and warm chords.

Bulgarian up and coming producer KiNK, brings us his debut release on Ovum. On the A side, KiNK brings us Rachel. Give you a deep percussive journey that gives a nod to all the things that you love about early Chicago house. This deep raw track takes you on many twists and turns. What starts as a lush beauty builds into a raw energetic monster. As the synth mid bass kick in the tracks takes on entirely new energy. It continues to build as the strings come in and we reach full climax. On the B side KiNK has delivered another peak time monster in Existence. Inspired once again by the sounds of Detroit and Chicago, KiNK has created a rolling track that is driven by building percussion and driving synth stabs. Just when the energy has built to a frantic pace, KiNK flips things and brings in the driving piano line. Full hands in the air time!

PWFM is a platform created by the end of 2015 in the aim to put forward the young producers of electronic music. Collaborative an community-based web-radio, media, label, promoter but also a community of more than 20,000 people, the young project accompanies the up-and-coming artists by proposing springboards that permit to win experience and visibility.In 2016, Provocative Wave for Music decided to press its first vinyl. Faithful to its convictions, the platform offered to young artists the possibility to register on the website, and then let the listeners vote for their favourite producers. A few months later, the 6 talents the most acclaimed (P.O, Paul André, LEOZ!NHO, YRNEH, AIROD and EKLPX) were chosen to be part of RECORD001 : the side A is composed by House tracks and the side B is more Techno.

Digital Traffik is back again to celebrate 10 years of activity in electronic music. This is the first vinyl only release of a long series of this 2016. It's a VA composed by 4 great track from 4 big artists : Tania Vulcano, AudioHell, Doomwork and Jose De Divina.

Tania Vulcano, the queen of DC10, delivered a deep underground track, groovy and trippy mixed with rides, hypnotic voices and a powerful Kick.
AudioHell, the founder of Digital Traffik, presents another amazing track directly from his famous recording studios in Venice. The song "Togheter" is inspired by old school and Detroit sounds of the 90s.
On the B Side, the Italian duo "Doomwork" after theirs recent release on Ovum produced an awesome song "Slices" : massive techno groove with an hypnotic dub & deep sound.
Jose De Divina, another hystorical Dj of Dc10 and Space Ibiza, is back on Digital Traffik with his new production : "Additive". This one is a celebration of the sounds that in the 90s helped grow the uderground movement : fat kick, delicious pads and amazing deep vibes.

Chinaski made his debut on Uncanny with the beloved "Angel Heart" last autumn. Now, Chinaski's first solo EP for the Dresden based label is at the ready. "Rivers Edge" is one hell of a ride through the nightmarish and schizophrenic side of House and Disco music. "Disaster" is a journey through Dark House territory with its Italo-sounds and that catchy synth spiral along the way while "Cash" leans more to the Chicago side of things to merge into a true dance floor killer. The flipside starts things off with "Lifetime" and an uncompromising bass line. When the beat finally kicks in you're in the game for anything. "Street" hits the same atmospheric spots but with a slightly sweeter topping over it. Finally, the stomping "Never Look Back" is a fun example for that typical neon-shimmering flavour that shines through all of Chinaski's productions. The artwork was created by Mark Krause with the help of Chinaski himself who proves that he knows a thing or two about realizing his visions also visually.

Rising young talent, Elliot Adamson, has been on the Edible radar for a couple of years already, so it's fitting that his debut for the Eats Everything curated imprint marks the label's tenth release. The Newcastle born producer has been gathering an arsenal of some of the freshest and inventive house music for some time now, and two of these cuts are ripe and ready for consumption on this tasty Edible release.
With its insatiable jackin' vibe, 'Still Workin' has already become a firm favourite in the DJ sets of Eats Everything; the DJ Deeon sampling track keeps pumping pure energy and classic Chi- town house troupes from start to finish, with a rasping bassline riff worming its way around the solid kicks and clattering hats.
The fantastically named 'Where The Fucks My Flanger At' clearly represents his love of raw and undiluted house music. Coming from the Cajual/Relief school of trax, this is another crafty and playful club cut from the house of Adamson.
Having built up a strong following already, and support for his music from DJs like Jackmaster, Skream and Patrick Topping, Adamson is on a real roll right now. His remixes of The Streets and Dizzie Rascal have pricked up many ears already, as have his productions for Hot Creations, Viva Music and Weapons. And with a label roster that includes Paul Woolford, Waze & Odyssey, Lord Leopard, Mele´, Lauren Lane and Eats Everything, Adamson is in good company with the entire Edible family.

The days are longer and lighter already and that can only mean one thing. Summer is on its way... Lee Burridge and Lost Desert return with sunshine days in mind on their 'Loopyness' EP. An apt description indeed for the title track. Its infectious groove rolls forward, making you want to get up and wiggle your hips; this track has funk. A live guitar lifts the track halfway through, as stuttered vocals and string-like synth lines take you away to other worlds.

Over on the other side of the vinyl (or track two for digital fans) is 'Botanic'. Another summer daze; groovy, light and airy with a slinky fat bassline and a warm breakdown. Music to close your eyes and drift away to, this track has been a firm favourite on All Day I Dream dance floors since last summer.
The EP comes to a close with '12CC' featuring Junior. A dubbier groove underpins the whole affair while glass-like melodies and laid back synths sway back and forth. It's a patient groover that rewards those who take the ride.

Banoffee Pies Records launches its first white label to date, and it's a three-pronged collaboration by new and exciting faces in the scene. First up is Philou Louzolo and his excellent "Afrofuturism Dance", a solid house jerker with lively tribal influences, folloed siftly by Wendel Sield and his moodier, jazzier piece entitled "History Of Black People". On the flip, Huntleys & Palmers MMT proceeds to drop some Gipsy King house in the form of "Ton A Ton", backed by the more funky disco shades of "Pangae Flute". Nice and diverse for ya!

One of Detroit's best kept secrets, Rick Wade has been producing late night tracks and tapping into the essence of deepness since the '90's. Known for their universal appeal and appearing on over 20 different labels worldwide, soulful, timeless grooves are his signature. Growing up in Buchanan MI, 1 hour outside of Chicago he was influenced by Chicago radio station WBMX and the Salsoul material and local stations that played the likes of Al Green and Isaac Hayes. In 1993 Rick and Dan Bell started Harmonie Park to release house material and in 1995 Rick started another label Bass Force primarily as an outlet for the Booty / Bass material that he records under the 'Big Daddy Rick' moniker. This time Rick brings us 'The Depth Charge EP', three tracks of lavish organic deepness, with jazzy Rhodes-chords, strings, trumpets, warm lush big sounding pads, combined with soulful vocal samples and crisp beats. London's Westlake72 contributes with a stunning remix of 'Be There', injecting a fierce disco groove and vibe.

Hot on the heels of "Brian Le Bon" and the "Desperate Housemen EP", the man like Roman IV, Soylent Green and Alter Ego's spectacled half supplies four tracks of heavenly proportions. Ramona doesn't even know where to start with her eulogy, but at the start. The EP opener "O.T.H." feels like a time travel to bleepy Sheffield and dreamy Detroit while wearing the equipment of today. Same goes for "Girls With Status" that acts as a mellow 808 yet straight forward counter part to the Balearic beach grip hop that is "Thank You Jack". Crowning all that is the gurning bass line reverie of "Cookie Dust" that will leave you and your favourite DJ top and speechless. Enough descriptions! What's left to say Oh yes, this record had Gerd Janson salivating - and he won't be the only one.

1994 - Chicago producer Rick Lenoir has already released a slew of legendary records under many well known aliases and his House Jam label has been in business since '87. The Sanctuary Project is the nom de plume utilised by Rick for this particular killer Disco infected 4 track EP from that period. The keen eared among you will no doubt recognise some of the sample sources used throughout these tracks, Lenoir flips jazzy loops, chopped up vocals and lays it all out over some kicking drum programming, this is that style of sample based House that has the hardened dance heads and hip-hoppers unified, gritty, raw and brimming over with soul! The cuts featured on this EP will sit nicely with most contemporary sounds and shows how on the money Rick was in the mid 90's! The record has long been out of print and has been forever popular with the diggers out there, commanding a healthy price when available in the second hand stores and online. This reissue has been realised with the full involvement of Rick Lenoir / House Jam Records, Chicago and is 100% legit! Don't snooze, this one deserves a spot in any self respecting House heads record bag or DJ set, classic material made available again for 2017 - 'Running it'!

Once again calling upon a wealth of closely associated talent, Moon Harbour now serves up the latest
instalment in their family orientated Inhouse compilation. Contributing new and exclusive cuts to the 12 track
affair are label artists old and new, from Sable Sheep to Luna City Express, Sven Tasnadi to Mathias Kaden,
whilst there are also some debut appearances from artists like Anja Schneider or Ninetoes.
Now into its 16th year, the label based in Leipzig and run by Matthias Tanzmann is a leader in its field. Offering
up a rich and diverse take on tech house, it is celebrated for not only dynamite EPs that are as loved by DJs as
they are by dancers, but also for its inventive albums and jam packed compilations. This latest one is another
window into the ever evolving world of Moon Harbour and offers up some real treats along the way.
Things kick off with a first track from label debutant Emanuel Satie, fresh of the back of some big hits on Saved,
Defected and Get Physical. His Now You Know is a rock solid house kicker with tough drums and physical
grooves. Riva Starr then showcases his party starting production credentials with an infectious edit of Paul C &
Paolo Martini, Sable Sheep returns with a dark and ravey contribution in Chaos and label stalwarts Luna City
Express cook up plenty of menace with their atmospheric, siren riddled Call the Police. Berlin tastemaker and
Mobilee boss Anja Schneider then makes a rare move away from her own label to offer the seductive, subtly
jazzy deep house shuffler that is Caracas and Dutch hit maker Sidney Charles summons some slamming old
school magic with his expansive main room tear up, House Is All I Need.
Steel Down from Mathias Kaden is a tightly coiled, bass driven number, label manager Dan Drastic steps out
with the coy aquatic house funk of Room Full of Heroes, Sven Tasnadi builds high pressure and loopy dub
house greatness on Real Box, recent EP artist Zohki goes solo for the airy tech of Crumble and then another
first time Moon Harbour artist, Ninetoes, serves up a restless groove with prying bass and elastic synths that
make you want to shake your limbs. Last but not least, Sabb rounds things out with a light and airy groove that is
well swung, endlessly evolving and stuffed with catchy vocal loops.
This is pure and effective dancing music that comes with plenty of charm and personality and confirms Moon
Harbour and its associates are right at the top of their game. r

Fresh from an in-demand EP release on Osunlade's 'Yoruba' label, Tenderlonious is back on his own 22a label, focusing once again on the outer reaches of the club. Opening with the deep, low-swinging, technosoul of 'All Your Way' (featuring a rare Tenderlonious vocal) the mood then switches on 'Bob's Riddim' with lean, broken-beats rumbling beneath jazzy, moog tones.

Shanghai based, Altieri second release on Slow Motion and it is an absolute belter. An insane mix of acid and middle eastern influences that punches its way to the cerebral cortex and takes no prisoners. Sure to any drive any discerning dance floor into overdrive, Spazio Terra is backed up with a peak-time remix from the man that always can Fabrizio Mammarella.

Cockney Lama infuses bumping basslines, sampled vocals, catchy chords, tight percussion and a whole lot of love. Following the ethos of the label he blends the right amount of old skool vibes to sit this perfectly on the right side of the 90's bar. No gimmicks, just pure house vibes that groove for days.

Ben Jacobs aka Crackazat first made a name for himself when he was still living in Bristol and released on EP on the city's Futureboogie label, which has also signed music from the likes of Julio Bashmore, Crazy P and Outboxx.

Early in his career Crackazat was also the official warm up act for an at the time up and coming artist called Floating Points, who now needs no introduction as one of the world's leading electronic music producers.

Moving to Sweden shortly after the Futureboogie release, Crackazat made contact with the Local Talk owners Mad Mats and Tooli, and after a couple of single/EP releases signed his debut solo album Crescendo.
The last couple of years Crackazat has had an explosion of global popularity, which has led to playing gigs all over the world, and releasing tracks and remixes on labels ranging from Josh Wink's Ovum, Joey Negro's Z Records and Eureka in Japan.

Classically trained with a strong Jazz influence, Crackazat has a distinctively individual sound that fuses funk with soulful vocals and the electronic bass music associated with his former home of Bristol.
Eloquent and intelligent, Rainbow Fantasia is a masterpiece that showcases one of electronic music's most exciting talents.

Audiojack's Gruuv imprint kick-starts 2015 with Hugo's 'Ultravogue' EP, backed with a remix from hotly tipped Greek producer Detlef. The Leeds born now Ibiza based Gruuv imprint had a great 2014 with releases from the likes of Cera Alba, Black Loops, Copy Paste Soul and Okain grabbing the attention of BBC Radio 1's B.Traits and Danny Howard. Further backing came from heavy hitting names such as Breach, Eats Everything, Darius Syrossian and Maya Jane Coles to name but a few, 2015's set to be yet another exciting year for Gruuv with lots in the pipeline, the first of which comes from Italian producer Hugo.
Title cut 'Ultravogue' takes the lead here, showcasing Hugo's stripped-back, hypnotic vibe with smoky atmospherics, weighty rhythms and a heavy dose of sub bass driving the composition while sporadic vocal murmurs and glitching percussive blips add a further mesmeric charm to things.
The original mix of 'Pendulum ft. Heral' comes next, retaining a similar aesthetic to the previous cut with a raw, drum-led groove, assisted by earth-shattering bass tones and looped vocal undertones.
Stepping up on remix duties next is ViVa Warriors main man Detlef who stamps his mark on 'Pendulum' with a more upfront dance floor focused feel, achieved via penetrating distorted drums, a stab-driven bass hook and mind-bending atmospheric sweeps.
Finally to round things off we have 'Metaloop', the third and final original from Hugo which further displays his unique ability for crafting intricate drum work with stuttering snares, bouncing tom hits and processed synth licks lying in an ever-evolving state over the records seven-minute duration.

Prescription Records defined the 1990s deep house sound. Chez Damier and Ron Trent started the label in 1993, released some two-dozen singles in a four-year span, many of which attained legendary status on the underground scene. Chez Damier and I started the label, because we had the idea to take a certain level of fidelity and bring that fidelity to what people call tracks. Tracks being drum orientated Chicago rhythm tracks with a minimalistic melody. We were playing with that idea, expounding a point of
that minimalistic aspect and making it more complex', Trent explains.

Ron Trent was born in Massachusetts but raised in Chicago, listening to jazz and learning percussion. He began DJing in 1982, playing at area high schools. His first EP, containing the epic instrumental Altered States,' was released on Armando Gallop's Warehouse Records in 1990. Chez Damier (Anthony Pearson) grew up in Chicago, where he danced at the Warehouse as a youth. He left for Detroit in the 1980s, helping to open the Music Institute and working A&R for Kevin Saunderson's label, KMS. Damier and Trent met while Damier was visiting Chicago and immediately hit it off.

Today, Prescription is cited by countless producers as a major influence. It's a very dub experimental label... sound bites, samples, rhythms, and a lot of ethereal stuff, too,' Trent expounds—not to mention. Prescription's embrace of heavy sub-bass. Concludes Trent, It was ahead of its time, definitely.'

Christian B & Lavvy Levan return with the second instalment of their 'Sounds from the Den' series on Friday Fox Recordings. This latest vinyl 4-tracker picks up where Vol.1 left off and continues to explore the outer reaches of the house genre, kicking off with the massive 'Weak' from Fatty Mombassa which combines Fatty's now trademark spoken word against a ferociously infectious disco influenced groove. South Africa's Rudi Botha & Miggza return with a looped-funk affair in the form of 'People Come Together'. Rob Slac delves deep into the dark recesses of a tech-style groove with the deliciously sultry 'Lonesome Butterfly'. The package is completed by the upfront sound of Kieron Ayres 'What Must I Do'.

David Hanke (aka Renegades of Jazz, Dem Juju Poets, Keno u.v.m) Landet auf Homeless Soul Music mit reichlich afro-driven deep house goodness. Der Titeltrack "Engira Road" rollt mit deepen, stampfenden Drums, unterlegt mit supertiefem Bass, während die hypnotisierenden Rhodes lines den ganzen Track in eine soulvolle Athmosphäre heben.
Abgerundet wird der Release mit "Impala Roundabout" - Heavy broken beat deep house, mit pulsierendem Bass, cleverer Perkussion und Afrikanischen Vocals.
Inspiriert zu den Tracks wurde David Hanke durch die Zeit, die er als Kind in den frühen 80ern in Tanzania gelebt hatte. Das Haus auf dem Cover zeigt sein damaliges Wohnhaus an der Engira Road in Arusha.
