House Vinyl New Releases - News

Earth Patterns is a new journey into sound by London based Australian born musician Ben Davidson, best known for his disco tinged house singles as Ben Sun, that were championed by the likes of Gerd Janson and Larry Heard.

The Earth Patterns concept presents a more expanded instrumental sound with live rhythm sequencing and synth work, sitting alongside Vangelis Katsoulis, Lars Bartkuhn and Soichi Terada on Alex Bradley's Utopia Records.

Davidson joins the dots between Detroit by way of Tokyo techno on 'Sunflower' to Dream II Science deepness on 'Horus Rising' and some worldly organic rhythms for a modernist and dare we say it Utopian sound on 'After The Rain'.
The analogue sound from his London studio comes through on the gentle and harmonic B-side opener 'Transit Pan', perhaps the start of a journey beyond the dance floor for the producer.

Artwork and liner notes by Davidson himself, all pressed by bespoke pressing plant The Vinyl Factory on heavyweight vinyl.

On Hans-Peter Lindstrøm's latest album, those northern disco lights are twinkling once more. Over the continuous stream of nine interlocked tracks on It's Alright Between Us As It Is, he's refined his love of arpeggiated synths, warm and steamy analogue bubble baths and earworm melodies into his most rounded and complete statement to date.

A Norwegian based in Oslo, Lindstrøm has always made a virtue of his obsessive work ethic, turning his city centre studio (where his neighbours include friends and collaborators Prins Thomas, Todd Terje and Andre Bratten) into a factory floor for churning out monster tracks, then punching out regularly and going home to his family. This is about music being woven seamlessly into the fabric of life.

The album's title is a direct quote from one of Lindstrøm's favourite movies, Ingmar Bergman's Wild Strawberries. This Swedish arthouse classic is about looking for meaning and finding closure at the end of a long life. About reaching the special place you've waited for all your life. A professor asks his longtime housemaid if they could become more familiar, starting with her brushing his teeth for him. She replies they shouldn't become too intimate: 'it's all right between us as it is.'

The album aggregates all the best elements from his long and varied career: the Balearic free-disco excursions of his two albums with Prins Thomas, experimental cosmic voyages in the vein of Six Cups of Rebel and 2015's collaboration with the stellar Todd Rundgren, Runddans, shimmering electronic pop featuring vocals by American singer Grace Hall ('Shinin') and Sweden's Frida Sundemo ('But Isn't It'). 'Bungl (Like a Ghost)' features a stream of conscious poem by transgressive Norwegian vocalist Jenny Hval. Most of all it reveals him as a masterful mood sculptor, with heart-stopping chord changes rolling over his relentlessly uplifting beats.

Conceived as a continuous flow, each side of the vinyl version will play as one track, while the CD and streaming versions will be timestamped. But in any case, once you're strapped into Lindstrøm's driverless vehicle, you won't want to get out. It's alright as it is. In fact, it's more than alright: it's almost nearly perfect.

After a blistering end to 2016, Rhythm Section INTL begins its 2017 schedule with a second outing from Peckham duo FYI Chris.Sitting firmly left of centre, these 4 tracks manage the very difficult task of being both unconventional and highly functional.
Highly recommended for fans of similarly difficult-to-categorise artists such as Red Axes, Axel Boman and Baba Stiltz.

Illusion Recordings are back after a years break from releasing music for their 10th and most ambitious release. They took a break to step back and build a strong platform for the future and build a crew of high calibre Artists who represent and showcase their musical identity which they have built over their first 9 releases and two sub labels. Tom & James believe in quality over quantity and as such have chosen not to rush this project and have waited until everything was artistically just right. The release encompasses everything the label has been working towards the last 5 years and is the antithesis of the disposable, saturated market we find today. The release is a double gatefold vinyl only release featuring Keith Worthy, Norm Talley, Tommy Vicari Jnr, Janeret, John Shima, Bobby O'Donnell and Annie Errez. The release spans all shades of house and techno and solidifies Illusions place as an exciting and forward thinking label for real music heads.

Cozy Bear follows with "Nudi Riddim" a delectable mix
of African percussion, jazz samples and acidic basslines.
On the B side we find more hip hop infused methodology, with Glenn Davis digging into Salsoul's back catalogue with his huge summer anthem "Holdin On". Finally, Unknown Artist is back on Ele following on from the huge anthem Ru$h. This time it's back to the MPC with a Daft Punk style 90's disco banger "Fade (Never Know)".

Fresh off the heels of their blinding EP on Detroit Swindle's Heist Recordings - we're proud to welcome Brame & Hamo to the family!

Multi Culti co-founder DREEMS has nominated you to join him on a twelve-legged race through the geopolitical wilderness alongside noted matesmen Jagma, DJ OI, Von Party and a hippie from Byron called LukaKnown for his 13-minute remixes, ambient SoundCloud sleep aids, and globally-hyperconscious DJ sets, Australian wizard DREEMS joins life partner Von Party on the title track, smelting 303,
dessert drones and bells in his Australian wizard's cauldron.

'Kamp Krusty," meanwhile, is a collaboration with Lithuanian-Israeli nomad DJ OI that features a fat brown-snake bass line, the ambulant percussion and bleeps scatter over the groove. Dope. Bats. Oi !

Things get deeper on "That Acid From Nimbim,"as "random hippie friend" Luka provides a vocal that channels Francis Bebey via the Northern NSW coast. "Bilbio Bush Baby" sees DREEMS re-team with Jagma - a pairing not seen since the very first Multi Culti release - for a mate-a-thon that races past the horizon and directly into the Sydney sunset.

Finally, Argentinean excursionist LUM offers a tranquil, early-morning rework of "Kamp Krusty" that envisions a possible future beyond the fiery culmination of the aforementioned break-of-dawn mate-a-thon.

Featuring remixes from Demuja, Dimitri From Paris & Dj Rocca, Nico Lahs & Volksfreude.

The second EP in our 'Rhemi Choice Cuts' series sees the London duo of Ziggy Funk & Neil Pierce unleash four more of their fnest productions on vinyl for the frst time. At the forefront of London's nascent Soulful House revival (although many would argue the sound never left our nation's capital), both artists are no strangers to the BBE label; Neil Pierce releasing previously as one half of 'Fanatix' moniker, while Ziggy's 2016 solo EP Red Light Syndrome is followed by album 'Boxer's Fracture' in May 2017. Rhemi have seen a meteoric rise over the last couple of years thanks to rock solid production, fnely tuned musicality and a series of dynamite vocal collaborations. Personally choosing a handful of tracks to be issued on vinyl for the very frst time, the duo are thrilled to share their best work on the format that started it all.

* Remastered 2017 limited repress * - Stunning harmonic Chicago house classics from 1995. Music from heaven.

There is no artist in the history of our label that we have given a harder time to than Vin Sol. At some point between us rejecting killer track after killer track he must have given up, pushing out his orphan tunes on other labels while we took our sweet time. We finally made our peace, and selected the four tracks that encompass the Moonchild EP you have here...
You see, Vin and Hny have history and to make this marriage official we needed it to be just right. Big daddy Vincente might be known around the world for his sure-fire dance-floor bombs, but not as commonly known for his Queer Ally reputation in San Francisco. Using his production prowess and dj knowledge to help bring up the Bay Area gay dance scene has built him a fanbase of all walks of life. We think this might be his most accomplished musical work to date, not just because it is for our label, but because it's a labor of love.
The EP reads like a metaphor for the two sides of the city where it was made. Moonchild and Electrical Storms reminisce the mystical and spiritual love affair San Francisco has had since the 60s while Patronize and Bondage Taped reference the sexually adventurous side the city indoctrinates to all its visitors. This record feels big to us and mostly because it reps our home and a hometown hero so hard. Enjoy.

JAM WITH 001 - CHRIS CARRIER x REDA DARE. 2 artists, 2 original tracks, 2 remixes. Vinyl Only.

Amsterdam's fastest, getting down with the machines and laying down some proper dirty rhythm tracks.....

The tender techno originators Howling landed with their newest single - Phases' backed by some very good, and carefully chosen remixes by Toto Chiavetta and Alex.Do.

Jacy inaugurates the mysterious Kalahari Oyster Cult with 'Somewhere In The Tapes'. This audio artefact rumbles with bright and clean sounds. The influence of Chicago and Detroit is clear from the outset, rooted in the smooth and cerebral grooves of 'Parallel Trip'. Piano keys ebb and flow in the late night movements of 'Dancing About Bebu'. Those keys take centre stage for the house scented sounds of 'Piano Reprise'. Jacy comes full circle with the cruel and cold 'It´s Not Hot But Hit (Disney Rave Mix)', a track of sinister synth stabs and spiralling samples. The Cult´s first vinyl pearl.

Over the last sixteen years Moods & Grooves has amassed a staggeringly impressive label family that includes names like Theo Parrish, Mr G, Kyle Hall, Rick Wade, Andres & Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann. This May the legendary Detroit label returns with a seminal thirteen-track album from veteran DJ & producer Joe Le Bon entitled 'House Music Love Music'.

With this new LP Jarno Eerola aka Joe Le Bon demonstrates his inimitable production prowess, garnered from a musical career spanning more than twenty years and encompassing releases on labels such as International Deejay Gigolo Records, Pro-Tez, Plastik.FM and Blumenbeat. Alongside his own output the Berlin-based artist has written tracks and remixes for numerous producers, most notably composing DJ Hells chart- smashing remix of Tim Deluxe 'Transformations' which saw six continuous weeks at number one on Beatport.

Jarno's polished production ability and aptitude for exploring diverse sounds and rhythms whilst maintaining a resolute warmth and depth to every cut is the most prevalent footnote across the course of the album. For 'Ghosts On Cassette' the Berlin-based producer works whirring space-like atmospherics over hypnotic beats and shuffling snares to dish up a smooth and captivating opener. 'For Yasuni' and 'The Road Is Under Repair' get worked over subtle synth patterns and crisp percussion to offer up some of the more emotive provisions on the album. This in contrast to the deep driving beats of 'House Music Love Music' and the more club-ready tracks like '82 Degrees' or 'Like Cotton Deep Orchestra' truly exemplifies the wide-ranging nature of the album.

All in all Joe Le Bon has structured a sublime body of work that can be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home or the middle of a dance floor, each and every track oozes depth and sits as a true testament to his abilities in the studio.

On face one of this new keinemusik, Rampa opens the doors for interpretation with headlining it 'So Many'. What could it be about
About so many DJs placing this sureshot into the must play'-regions of their record-wallets About so many girls and boys losing it all
when someone pumps this shit Any way, this thing here is a serious peaktime-issue. Framed by shaker-obsession and South Bank-
atmosphere, this joint is going ways quite typical for Rampa. He's starting it up and calming it down, pushing the dynamics to utter
ecstasy, but still letting its soul breathe subtly.
An effective build-up, never letting go of elegance - that's a formula, you might come across on the ipside as well. It is a cut named
'Everything', quite possibly the secret A-side of this release. It starts off with Meggy moaning an afrmative 'mmmhhmmm' into the
rst bar. She's following up with catchy and explicit lyrics, that will leave no pant unbonered. Those not less than explicitly spanking
claps and the overall pumping sex appeal of this tune will then ultimately loosen all hormonal congestion a danceoor could suffer
from. If the descriptive trio 'crazy, sexy, cool' wouldn't be occupied already, it now had found two new hymns to dance and do other
nasty things to.

Limited one-sided killer. Very cool deephouse track - limited copies!

Hailing from Brazil and since moved to Toronto Get Weird welcomes Hauy. Music crafted to be played in the clubs or the deserts, these three tracks chart an important journey for Hauy. Each a part of his recent journey and growth.
Amanita is a magic mushroom (Amanita Muscaria) that took him to a place where he felt no longer with the living. A place of truth where he would no longer lie to himself. After finding his truth and coming back to the land of the living, he decided to express the feelings of his journey through his music.
He further pondered what it all meant. The initial darkness of the trip and its aftermath, gave way to a more positive light. As he felt more and more positive, another song floated in to his mind. Your way to paradise is the sunrise after the darkness.
Blue Moon wasn't originally a part of this musical journey but now seems relevant to represent how he felt before the experience, as a part of his full circle, completing a personal expedition and exploration to our latest release.

Swiss DJ-producer Honorée debuts on Rekids with two intricate numbers featuring Swedish producer Evigt Mörker.

A key component in Switzerland's thriving electronic music scene, Honorée is an accomplished DJ and no stranger to playing alongside the upper echelons of house and techno. She now demonstrates her production abilities with an excellent inaugural outing on Rekids.

'Pearls' sees deep notes and stuttering percussion join echoing French vocals for a stripped-back exhibition of mesmerising house. 'Feeling' integrates sultry chords with syncopated drums whilst a whispering voice ebbs in and out of the mix. Evigt Mörker, known for appearances on Semantica Records and Konstrukt, then steps up for a rhythmic and ethereal rendition of 'Pearls'.

In revisiting the epic journey of José Manuel's debut album "Excursion Africanism", the Copenhagen based Music For Dreams have procured remixes from like-minded producers to lend an additional layer to the afro-inspired dance music of Manuel.
Turkish multi-instrumentalist Islandman (who recently released an EP on Music For Dreams) strips and slows down elements of "Babylon" and offers a more laid back and spacious version of the track, adding his kosmische guitar playing to the mix.
Also of Turkish decent, Berlin-based producer and international touring DJ Mehmet Aslan grabs hold of the album's only ambient track "Voices of Afrika" and turns it into his own creation entirely. Bearing almost no resemblance to the original, Aslan's remix is a dubby leftfield jam with far out guitar noodling and industrial-sounding drum machine breakdowns. Intense and defiantly orchestrated for the darkest corners of the dance floor.
And for those who wondered about the curiously titled album track "Excursion Africanism (Part 3)" we get another piece of that puzzle from Manuel himself, with the inclusion of part 1 (plus a more stripped down Percussion Dub version to boot). Essentially a raw tribal groove with a hypnotic repetitious chant, this makes for a perfect DJ tool to complete this heavy release.

After a short break in releases, Plastik People are back with the third installment of the Various People. We see label owner Marc Cotterell up first with his slice of 90's house music, incorperating slick grooves and catchy cut up vocals, along side mark on side A, a new addition to the Plastik People family from london, Charles Caliber, who graces the EP with a stunning soulful house groove called Moving On. On the flip side NYC artist Doug Gomez brings us a classic sounding, deep head nodding track which was originally releases on Frole records and we loved it so much that we decided it needed a vinyl releases, to round off the EP Mikki Funk graces us w with a splendid cut of UK garage from Mikki Funk has released previously on RM Records and Music IS Love & we love his work.

'One In A Million' leads with a bright 90's garage house beat reminiscent of Disclosure before breaking into the kind of danceable indie-pop swagger that will excite fans of LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip. Replete with remixes from Zomby and Playgroup this 12² sets a precednt for Olsson 12" release where he kindly asks his heros to reimagine his work. In this case two of Electrtonic musics most exciting and consistent names step up.

As the Summer draws to a close Serge Devant returns once more to Damian Lazarus's Crosstown Rebels with the highly infectious 'This Moment' EP. Serge original tracks are accompanied by a great Dinky remix, to complete this great package.
Opening up the EP with 'This Moment', Devant has created a track that implores the listener to stop and take in all the vibrations, effects and melodies. This is a piece of music that intricately weaves together a hefty bass, curious sounds and an addictive horn. Pay close attention to 'In Time' and you will be absorbed once more in an enchanting world where all you can do is follow the rhythm of the drums. On the flip and Dinky adds her signature vocals, and hooky synth stabs creating a deep and textural remix of 'This Moment'.

Clone Royal Oak branching out further... Strip Steve makes his debut to the label with a 4 track ep of inspiring and fierce funking sample based tracks. Soaring strings layered over shuffling multi-layered beats, bubbly basslines and elastic melodies. Off-kilter intergalactic House tracks!

Get Weired follows on from GW's last release in smooth style with this beautiful, dreamlike Superlounge release. Whether the sun is rising or falling both tracks create beautiful moments with their delicate melodic soundscapes. Underpinned by confident drum arrangements and warm baselines each will take you somewhere quite special. Just in time for the dust or for after the dust settles these tracks slowly ebb their way in to your soul.
Until the next time. Get Weired .

With the highly anticipated release of Thorsteinssøn's 'Academy of Heroes' album on the horizon, Pets Recordings have decided the flip the switch early and precede the longplayer with a fantastic trio of remixes. Academy of Heroes is described as 'deliciously cosmic and cheerily schizophrenic' and looking to break down and reconstruct some of this glorious frenzy are three exciting producers, each of which have chosen a track from the album to remix. First up is London based Pets pal Ashworth, who returns to the label for the first time since December's 'Collapsed' ep. 'Sixtrack Blues' is the track of choice with Ashworth harnessing the originals dreamy vibe and adding a punchy guitar driven groove. Talking of 'punch', Gerd steps up, under his Geeeman guise, on a rework of 'Sammy'. Taking the original's liquidy and acidic melody the Dutchman straightens and replays, replacing the original's loose drums with a raw, kickass rhythm of his own to turn Sammy into a warehouse weapon. Fresh from their Boiler Room debut, Berlin live act Cab Drivers select the bulbous cosmic disco of 'Midnight At Taffey's' to resculpt. A driving drum pattern turns the original slomo groover into a stellar swinging workout. A superb selection of remixes, each far removed from Thorsteinssøn's originals. Making the anticipation for the Academy Of Heroes that much greater.

Thanks to everyone involved, all around the world. Music provides the greatest unity. It strips away indifferences, supersedes language, nationality, culture, all defining human factors, and leaves one common thing we can all interpret; sound
