House Vinyl New Releases - News

Sound-tracking her unerring dedication to living and breathing dance music and club culture around the world, Classic Music Company presents this double 12' to accompany Honey Dijon's debut artist album 'The Best of Both Worlds'. Featuring collaborations with the most relevant artists that dance music has to offer in 2017, the album is one of the most anticipated events in this year's house music calendar, preceded by Honey's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, relentless worldwide touring demand, international media attention and three critically-acclaimed lead-up singles.
Eight tracks from the album are in the vinyl package, including singles with Cakes da Killa on the Hip House enthused 'Catch The Beat' and Sam Sparro on classic dance track update 'Look Ahead', strutting elegantly through Honey's tough "Berlin-meets-New York" style. And the list of exceptional collaborators continues. Exclusive album material includes featured vocals from progressive New York artist Nomi Ruiz on 'Why' and 'Love Muscle', as well as Joi Cardwell. Remastered versions of 'Burn' and 'Thunda' are included too, plus a brand new mix of the incredible 'Houze' featuring Seven Davis Jr.
Honey describes the concept of the album in her own words: 'The album is a personal statement. It was about taking these different worlds and combining them to make something new. The Best Of Both Worlds was a pun that I wanted to take, empower and own.'

Industry veteran Paolo Martini is next to join the Emerald City family with Red Rocks. Bringing the funk, he delivers a solid two-track release with irresistible groove and dance-floor disco heat.
Paolo Martini has been in the business for over 30 years, first releasing with Gianni Bini on various labels such as Defected, Strictly Rhythm, Universal, Azuli and Nervous. They soon established their own label Ocean Trax and handled remixes of Kylie Minogue and Jamiroquai. Paolo has also been testimonial for several clothing brands including Diesel and Adidas and also the Rane MP2015 mixer. His following co-productions can be found on acclaimed labels such as Hot Creations, Snatch!, Moon Harbour, 8Bit, Saved and Cecille amongst many others. 2017 starts the beginning of a new adventure with a string of releases geared up under his new solo project.

Sterling Toles' Resurget Cineribus is the story of Detroit 1967' reappearing in the world as a human being, Dennis Edward Toles, Sterling's father. In 2002, the year he turned 50, Dennis came over to Sterling's basement studio as he routinely did to catch up. What started initially as Sterling's idea to record him talking shit' over a Marvin Gaye record suddenly became Dennis' chilling account of what was happening in his life, the second the music became silent. Dennis was seeking to heal from an addiction, by returning to the work that led him to that addiction, to fund his recovery. Around this time, Sterling was ruminating on news clips about the uprising of 1967 and the possibility of setting these to a musical score. Also around this time, Sterling discovered the city's motto Resurget Cineribus which means it shall again rise from the ashes' which was adopted in 1805 when the settlement of Detroit burned down. Consumed with the notion of fire and rebirth, Sterling listened as his father shared a recent incident of waking up to a molotov cocktail lighting up his living room. Sterling saw, both literally and metaphorically, that the combustible events of 1967 were unfolding inside of his father in the present day. He saw Dennis' longing to transcend his past, to return to it in order to break free of it, as mirroring the desire of the city itself to be reborn. Ghettotech legend and DJ Assault collaborator Mr. De', describes Sterling Toles' 19 track, 67 minute-long album Resurget Cineribus as a crazy late 90's indie film without the picture'. Sterling's gritty analog production acts as a score rising and settling around audio of his father speaking on his circumstances in 2002, alongside soundbites from news reports from 1967. Originally self-released on CD-R in 2005, Resurget Cineribus was a project held dear to many in Detroit's activist organizing community and was an inspiration to boundary-shattering sound purveyors such as Dakim Saadiq and Kyle Hall.

track remix 12" featuring: "CLOUDS OF MONEY (VOLTA CAB REVIVAL MIX)", "CLOUDS OF MONEY (LEGENDARY 1979 ORCHESTRA MIX)", "CLOUDS OF MONEY (BOOGIE NITE REMIX)", and "NUTS (RAYKO COSMIC REMIX)". Due out late May.

This summer 2017 Tom Bulwer launches Parasol Culture, a vinyl only imprint, focusing on quality house and techno, with a tinge of "it's a London thing". Dutch born Tom came to London as a UK garage DJ working up his way the ranks of pirate radio stations (Freek FM, Unknown FM), to producing and working with UK garage legend Karl "Tuff Enuff" Brown. This year Tom is focusing on TB Audio, his analogue mastering studio in East London, and producing music on the deeper side of house and techno as a solo artist. Tom has released on labels such as Nu Faze, !K7 and Signatune Records. He also regularly writes with long term partner in crime Anna Wall under their own names and under their moniker casse. The first Parasol Culture release is the output of Tom and Anna's winter months under the same roof and in his studio in Hackney Wick. 2017 also sees Tom start a new venture with Dexter Kane (murmur, Get Physical, Fear of Flying), aptly named, Alternate Facts; a vinyl only label and free party series; wax and stacks, party over profit, power to the people. Swiss producer Adriano Mirabile has written and remixed a string of infectious house tunes for a handful of labels from Bleepsequence up to his most recent offerings on Senzen and Sirion Records. We are pleased to present his sophomore Stasis Recordings release in vinyl form. Two for the dance floor.

Remixes by Lauer, Cleveland, Shan, Jack Pattern
Benjamin Fröhlich's 2016 ep 'Rude Movements' gets the remix treatment by some of his favourite artists: Permanent Vacation long time collaborator and partner in crime Lauer tugs 'Amos' in with a very cosy Frankfurt Trance blanket, while Running Back regular Shan pulls out the curls of 'Holloway' thanks to his magic styling iron. The result: a pumping and string heavy affair. On the flipside Brussels's Wunderkind Cleveland delivers an energizing and mesmerizing breakbeat version of 'Ghost Orchid' for the magic moments in life. While Siss finest Jack Pattern come correct with a cosmic disco reinterpretaion of 'Spitting Image

New extended play from Frederick on his dwelling label Fifty Fathoms Deep, with the idea of bringing together remixes, collaborations and previously unreleased bonus tracks from Fifty Fathoms Deep and Roar Groove. As well as new works from Frederick on this full circle release, The Revenge and Craig Smith feature both individually and collectively as the 6th Borough Project.

* Following his 'Chubby Cheeks' album for Nosaj Thing's Timetable Records, Gerry is back with his new album, 'New Junk City' for RAMP Recordings.

* Musically, the Suffolk based outsider-house poster boy has withdrawn from the Ghetto-influenced sound of 'Chubby Cheeks', to more musical territory, sounding like the next step from his debut album 'Jummy', keeping the jazzy samples, and adding layers of dusty synths and rolling drums.

Features confirmed: Resident Advisor feature, Resident Advisor premiere, Clash premiere

Radio confirmed: Nemone (BBC 6 Music), Gilles Peterson (BBC 6 Music), BBC Suffolk Introducing

More vinyl-only dopeness from Colonel Wrong face and the Just Jack crew. Serving up the heat this time is Berlin based producer Rydim, a man who's been stirring up dance floors and releasing records for over a decade now, both as a solo artist and also collaborating with 2 friends under a very popular, super hush-hush pseudonym (it's a secret yeah, so we ain't telling you nuffing!).
Detroit's Jared Wilson brings home the bacon on remix duties, turning out a deep acid sleaze-fest for the discerning earlobe. Pack your wellies cause that 303 shit is squelchy.

Lifestyle is a new label from the Subwax family in Barcelona. This one is all about warm grooves and the love for the vinyl lifestyle. Limited copies...

The Moscow duo is back with the followup to well supported GLENVIEW debut 12". "APES IN THE ORANGE GROOVE" has super funky piano chords, analog drum machine beats and on the original mix add'l samples from KITO JEMPERE on the B-side SECRET CIRCUIT do an acid tinged Balearic remix.

Steve Murphy returns to Hot Haus with 3 tape saturated lo-fi-houz bombs! Teaming up with DJ Octopus on Man In The Box and 2 cold hard jack trax on the flip make this a 'must have!' for any discerning house deejay.

The 4 track EP kicks off with Emotions, a collaboration between Nenor and Omri Smadar, a classically trained jazz pianist with a diverse musical background. The track has a driving sharp rhythm with a repetitive vocal mantra sure to steer and shuffle emotions on the dancefloor.

Diminished State is a dark, eerie and atmospheric affair from Kali Boog, aka Kalimist. The vivid kaleidoscope of colossal analog techno grooves has a funky, gritty vibe with pads hinting that there might be something sinister lurking behind the speakers.

On You'll Never Find Love, we find veteran producer and 'Fortuna Records' co-founder Kalbata in top form. His razor sharp, warm analog rhythms provide the perfect backdrop to the moody, soulful vocal samples floating in a pool of endless ripples and echoes.

Closing off the EP is Afternoon Walk, an unexpected piece that came into existence when Obas Nenor casually experimented with the rewiring and routing of analog gear and effects at his new studio. This hypnotic jam session-like result was recorded directly from the mixer to a 2 track capturing a moment of trial and wonder.

Biographies
Obas Nenor is the alias of the Tel-Aviv producer and DJ Ronen Sabo (also known as SaBBo). His debut EP as Obas Nenor "I Love You" was signed to the iconic house label Strictly Rhythm, followed by a second release, "My Way Home" which was released on Moodymann's legendary label Mahogani Music. Since then Obas Nenor released an EP with Heist Recordings' Sol Power on his own label "Nenorion." He's also known for his disco works as Rabo&Snob with longtime collaborator "DJ Rob." Nenorion Music is planning to release a variety of music as diverse as Nenor's style.

Omri Smadar, also known as Libra Discotheque, is a musician/DJ/producer based in Tel Aviv. He is considered to be one of the city's most diverse underground figures with a musical resume that you don't meet very often: a classical & jazz pianist, composer with a major in Music Composition and Theory, reggae sound system MC, songwriter, music teacher, highly acclaimed remixer as well as a talented DJ with a keen ear for deep house, oriental cuts, obscure disco and basically whatever else is out there on the left field of dance music.

Kalbata is a veteran producer from Tel Aviv and the co-founder of the reissue label 'Fortuna Records.' Regardless of genre, his distinct musical approach comes through a deep affection for low frequencies and a collection of vintage effects and instruments. His razor sharp beats guarantee a warm analog feeling of floating in a pool of endless ripples and echoes. The same qualities come forth in Kalbata's precise and intense DJ sets, which cover everything from techno, African tribal music & dub.

Kali Boog aka Kalimist introduces a vivid kaleidoscope of colossal analog techno grooves and funky yet gritty existence in a 4 by 4 arena. His sound exhibits an interchangeable romance of techno and deep funk which wreaks havoc amongst dancefloor enthusiasts.

THE NITE OWL DINER brings a V/A EP with four massive jacking floor-fillers. ALEX BURKAT starts with the deep "OUT 2 C", followed by SAVILE & JKNOCH's Chicago burner "WORK". Detroit's ALI BERGER turns in a huge banger "WKL" & SmartBar resident OLIN with the ominous Chicago house banger "SUP".

New imprint OCD's first release comes from Portland native Aaron Carlson who, with his ac$ alias, has generated quite a buzz in underground circles of late, off the back of a few highly sought-after records.
'Do U Know What U Represent' is a slice of rolling tech-house that utilises vocal snippets amidst a flurry of 909 hats while the Rhodes-laced 'More Odds' dials up the swing with a nod to early Prescription releases. On the B side, 'Just Like You' is a more heady affair, seeing lazy chords sitting over a nebulous bassline and assorted weirdness, while the acid-tinged, atmospheric 'Organ Morph' is sure to find favour with fans of Binh or Nicolas Lutz.

Dave Allison back on his home label of Kinjo with 3 sweet down-tempo jazzy jams to warm up winter and a disco funk number on the flip which gets a remix from the ever so hot Junktion!
Pressed on Limited Green 12 Inch Vinyl.

After a killer 12 inches from Mori Ra, Jongno Edits is back with two tunes, blurring the lines between editing and sampling.
The A-Side, 42 Below, is an uplifting Korean Fusion Boogie with slap bass, tropical synths, summery guitar and female vocals. Given a serious dub work out by Monsieur Jongno. Effortlessly working the bassline and guitar with added muscle, subtle dub FX's, drum fills, teasing the vocal and synths before unleashing the chorus and guitar solos. Nice Brazilian vibes on this one, like a Lincoln Olivetti production, Seoul went Rio.On the flip side, Drums and a Bass is an obscure LP cut from a Korean Percussion Ensemble with Traditional Korean folk elements, tribal drums and chanting, spikey avant garde guitar plucks, rolling punk funk bassline that builds the energy levels with Jazz style vocals and horns. Sounding very Liquid Liquid, a bit Can, a bit Pig Bag, with some Korean craziness. Expertly extended and re-arranged by the Jongno edits main man to give it more of a dancefloor edge, and ramping up the psychedelics. Powerful stuff.

Jimi Jules is working like a product line. This time with a congenial partner Kalabrese aka Kalaspatz.
Two Swiss guys penned up in a studio with a lot of red wine... Homeless & Tuff City Kids on remix duties.
This is what you get. Dope vibes!!! Kristian

Prime are proud to welcome to its roster a brand new label from the heart and soul of House music, Chicago...Meet KMG - Chicago.

First up we have a perfectly formed 4 tracker with tracks and remixes from legends such as Mike Dunn (just check his mix of the Belizian Voodoo Priest track), & Harry Dennis (The IT with Larry Heard) & Jungle Wonz (with Marshall Jefferson) delivering the stylish old school vibes, with new school Chicago is represented in full by DLG and Pablo Angel remixing Kim Jay & Faith Howard (Jay Z Vocalist) respectively.
4 tracks, 4 styles, full Chicago.

Brixton's Dream Diary continue to bolster a blooming catalogue of classy electronic music with a fresh 4-track EP courtesy of label owner Oslo Roma. Staying true to their canon - Roma's 'Bubbles' EP spans Ambient, cruising Deep House, Minimal and Electro balancing water tight drums with eyes down melodies throughout.
The title track opens things up with gliding Juno chords and a steady, hypnotic pulse. Shimmering cymbals and spoken snippets ferry the listener into a trance before 'How Good Is The Party' rolls loose limbed drums under sweeping tones and expansive dub delays. 'Mars Water' then dims the lights with a driving bass line set under reversed vocals and clipped, neat drums. 'Twotet' then finishes the package up with sharp 808 drums and soft allaying melodies that work to round off another rich and varied addition to the Dream Diary catalogue.

Naoki E-Jima's Disc Shop Zero record store in Tokyo holds a special place in our hearts. Since before Idle Hands was even established, when Rooted Records was king, the cosy, liberally stocked shop has served as a sympathetic outpost for Bristol's rich culture of soundsystem music. Over the years, Naoki has championed all the best music to come from our fair city, from Smith & Mighty through to Pinch and Pev and on to the output from our own humble label. It's been a vital connection to help our music reach the right heads on the other side of the world, in turn providing a platform for our most treasured artists to gig and further the cause of the music we love.

As a thank you for all the support Naoki has shown Bristol music over the years, Idle Hands has put together a special tribute 10" of tracks that chime with his particular musical tastes, shining a light on some complementary gems that might have otherwise never seen the light of day. It's also a chance to fill in the missing IDLE013 catalogue number - fortunately, the number 13 does not represent bad luck in Japanese culture.

On the A-side, the mighty (pun intended) Rob Smith takes to a track from Outboxx's debut album, originally intended for a remix 12" that never came to be. In his learned hands, "Lost Soul" becomes a shimmering stepper marked out by beautiful cascading arpeggios and of course plenty of fulsome bass, with arresting fragments of vocal drifting in and out of the mix for good measure. Rob's status as a true legend of Bristol music needs no explanation, but his presence here is furthermore because Naoki is such a fan of his music.

On the B-side, Atki2 makes a welcome return to the label after bringing a classic ray of sunshine to Idle Hands on the second single we ever put out. As well as being a big release for us, it was apparently huge at Disc Shop Zero, so it feels right to bring the effervescent "He's Royal" to this 10" release.

With a sunny disposition at heart, these two tracks make sense sharing a 10", but it's even more fitting that they sit side by side as we doff our caps to a true hero of the global underground. Thanks, Naoki.

One + 1 and Camilo Gil then demonstrate intricate drums and looped pads as subtle vocal samples mutter in 'Bitch Call' before Funk E & Bodeler introduce glitchy nuances and trippy atmospherics in 'Playa Den Bolsa'. Tying things together, Buenos Aires' Ronan Portela incorporates a little more thud whilst soothing synths operate in 'Changing Minds'

Ibiza resident and darling of the White Isle, Davina Moss returns once more to Hot Creations. Having released on Jamie and Lee's imprint in 2015, Moss returns with two original cuts whilst Cuartero supplies the remix.
Oh Mama opens with tribal rhythms and a driving energy set against the enticing vocals of Issa Elle while Like A Proper Star concludes with a dynamism and groove reminiscent of Ibiza's hedonistic parties.
Best Newcomer at the DJ Mag Awards in 2015, Cuartero transforms Oh Mama into an after party dream drenched in rolling drums. The Spanish DJ and producer is no stranger to Hot Creations having previously released twice on the label.
Davina Moss has been producing and DJing for over a decade with a musical career that has allowed her to travel the world and release on a variety of labels, including ViVA Music, Pacha Recordings, Upon You and Do Not Sleep among others.

Gnork and Luv*Jam have worked closely together for many years now. The Blorp93 yellow vinyl surfaced in 2013 and was championed by the likes of RVDS, Bradley Zero, DVS1 and Wolf Music !! Since this time, there have been a few secret cuts nipping about here n there! Some of which many folk were 'demanding' they were pressed! Those very secret Blorpers are here on one precise 12', with 'Sexxx in Space' the biggie from Gnork's Lost In Budapest Mixtape! Luv*Jam adds a few sexxxy
dream nips for those DJ's who like to add another dimension... By the power of a moonbeam!

South London via Toronto, next up for Church is Jesse Futerman.

Tasty Treats, another side project of the multi-talented Ronald Burrell dropped this 4 track EP way back in 1993 on the cult Citi label out of NYC.
As expected the tracks contained within have all the facets of that magical "Burrell sound"; healthy doses of Soul, sleaze, deepness, late night atmosphere and that solid, no nonsense NY/NJ House attitude, for the heads, the dancers, the all nighters and the freaks! This is pure Shelter/Garage joy!
The Burrell brothers back catalog is just ridiculous in terms of releases, styles and quality control and this EP sits comfortably up there with some of their classics. An all round solid EP for all true House music lovers regardless of area code or geography!
%100 legit re-issue, re-mastered and brought back for the summer 2015 flex - Don't snooze!

See Double, the London based imprint headed by Luca Cazal and Brigante, returns for its fifth outing, a three track EP from Boris Werner titled 'Badabing Badaboum'. A club-ready package and staple of Werner's recent sets, SD005 once again proves this Amsterdam local's deep knowledge and understanding of how to move a dance floor.
Played by Seth Troxler and Richy Ahmed amongst others and tried and tested by both label boss Cazal and Werner on DC10's terrace throughout this summer, title track 'Badabing Badaboum' is a bonafide club smasher. Leading the charge with a hypnotic bell riff alongside a chugging 4/4 pulse, Werner keeps a driving pace as sluggish and evolving low end theory enters the fray. A deftly constructed, energy filled arrangement progresses before indiscernible, tribal vocal chants take the fore, trading blows with a modulating acid bassline.
On the flip Werner delivers 'You Snooze You Looze', a tech-infused cut adorned with rolling subs, clinical percussion and a head-snapping rhythm. Phased synthesis and dissonant sample work pushes the track into uncharted trippy territory, as processed vox stabs and crisp hi-hat patterns maintain momentum, leading to a deeply musical breakdown that offers a truly dynamic shift in mood.
Closing the EP is 'Whooos In Control', a lesson in atmosphere and groove, which sees spaced-out synths interplay with automated stabs. Ethereal pads and warped fx float atop Werner's swung drum programming creating that perfect roller for those early morning moments.
SD005 will be available soon in both digital and physical formats.

Following acclaim for his EP on NYC's Razor-N-Tape, Peckham-based producer Nebraska returns with two weighty string-led deep house grooves. 'Rien Ne Vas Plus' slowly builds to a lush, melodic wide-screen climax, while the crackly 'Don't You Know' offers a rootsier, more dusty flavour. Both tracks are augmented with trackier DJ-friendly 'version' cuts, a nod to the classic 80s reggae 12" format.

Nisantashi Primary School are Vlad, Lucy and Mykhaylo from Kiev. This electronic-pop trio embraces weird sounds and holds omnivorous but clearly discerning appetites for mixing disco, funk and dub grooves. Their debut EP is a mix of snappy and moody synth sounds, vintage-tinged bass lines and gritty rhythms.

The selection of tracks is a showcase of moods and influences: from the feverish and psychedelic "Mr. Fingers" with Fumaça Preta's Alex Figueira on drums, to the nocturnal dancefloor gem Hills'. Hints of dance records from 80's NYC, synth-based disco and krautrock come through, but an eastern european immediacy and faux-débutant approach brings its own flavor to the table.

While dance music from Kiev might seem surprising, what do we really know about this city's energy From the place where so many things are happening these days, maybe it's time to see something else unfold.
