2015 saw producer extraordinaire Obas Nenor unleashing some of his strongest work to date. With acclaimed releases on
Moodymann's Mahogani Music and on Strictly Rhythm, Obas continues his organic mixture of live instrumentation laced with
samples. Tonight marks the first release on his own imprint, Nenorion Music, a chunk of versatile, layered dancefloor goodness that sets the bar high for future releases and stretches the limits of the EP format.
Curry Rush' is a straight dancefloor scorcher tested without flaws on the unsuspecting crowds before finally making its way to the
pressing plant. The title track 'Tonight' takes on a different direction with its swirling cosmic jazz vibes, vibrating synths and dreamy vocals courtesy of frequent collaborator, Karolina.
Dripping with fat and soul, 'My Hopes' is a slice of a feel-good lush disco that is simply irresistible. If your dancefloor can't feel this one, you better check for pulse. Last but not least is 'The Spirit', a more laid back psychedelic affair with repetitive chants, pulsating bass and killer flute bits gliding on top of the elevating drum patterns. This is a dense EP with live instrumentation and warm, analogue sound esthetics. It benefits from a kaleidoscopic range of influences and styles without ever losing the plot or straying from its own identity. No fillers, guaranteed.

Toby Tobias joins Delusions again for what will be his sixth(!) 12' entitled The Rain. The prolific Londoner whose releases have graced such venerable labels as Rekids, ESP Intistute and Let's Play House, is back with a vengeance, delivering two mighty fine originals plus a remix from Nebraska.
In true Toby Tobias style, The Rain got made on an MPC, sliced and edited from a single live take through the desk then accidentally deleted so no further mixing, sequencing or editing could be carried out. But what is an A&R man's nightmare, turns out to be the record buying DJ's gain, as the improvised, dubby vibe and raw as ***k mixdown give the track an authentic feel and energy which could only come from the madness in Toby's method. Fresh from his brilliant releases on Mister Saturday Night and Razor n Tape, we have our man Nebraska do his thing on the remix of The Rain. Dropping down the BPM's a bit from Toby's more frenetic original, Nebraska add's a healthy dose of moogy lead lines to the lo-slung house
groove, perfect for warming up the dancefloor. Closing this release we have New Way Of Feeling which sees Toby in
playful mode with a percussion heavy, driving basement jam. FM pads form the centerpiece of the track whilst flourishes of Juno come and go, hints of early 90's IDM shining through on the glistening sine-wave melodies. All in all a glorious melting pot of ideas and influences all over this release which make for one of his strongest yet for Delusions

It's safe to say this release marks Heist's most international endeavor so far: next up we've got Alma Negra, 4 guys with roots in Portugal, Cabo Verde, Italy and Spain, hailing from Switzerland. They're putting out an African influenced EP with German Detroit afficionado Soulphiction involved for a remix. Afro lovers will probably know Alma Negra because of their great work on Highlife, Sofrito or Basic Fingers and we've been in touch with them for a long time to make this release happen. Their 3 originals are a great showcase of their skills; blending traditional African music with contemporary house and techno. 'Afrorleans' is a track with Fela's footprint all over it. They serve a lovely Rhodes jam over a classic Nigerian afrobeat, subtly supported by sparse electronic percussion giving room for the keys and afro drums to really shine. Meanwhile 'Luanda dub' is another beast altogether. As a modern reinterpretation of the traditional Lamento style from Luanda, this track is a gloomy techno workout with some killer bottom end, getting nice and trippy with dubbed out guitars, spacey vocals and tribal percussion. On the flip, we've got both versions of 'Endless summer', closing the EP on a light and mellow note. Alma's original leans heavy on indeed 'endless summer-y' Rhodes keys, filtered wahwah's and African chants. Soulphiction does well in keeping the cheery vibe alive, but adds some serious grunts with his percussion and a killer bassline. With these fantastic guys as our second release of this year, and knowing what is still to come, I'm sure all of you will keep on listening to anything we send your way. Thanks for doing so. Your Sincerely, Maarten & Lars.

After moving from London to Berlin Cromby is back on Tenderpark with his second EP for the vinyl label. The young man recreates our love for Deep House with two sample-based tracks which showcase his ever advancing skills with the old school Akai sampler MPC 2000 XL as well as his cool understanding of mixing haunting melodies with gripping groove patterns. The remix on the flip side comes from Hip-Hop super producer gone House lover Hodini who has collaborated with the talented bass player Chez Kerim for this funky workout. The cover image shot by Achim Valbracht is the start of a new artwork series developed by Tenderpark art director Till Sperrle which revolves around critique of investor-driven architechture that has been dominating Berlin for several decades now. The speciously precious and glittering image displays a normalised and globally standardised kind of beauty but at the same time reveals a strong sense of loneliness. As always both the mastering and as well as the lacquer cut of this record have been carefully executed by vinyl sound mastermind Helmut Erler at Dubplates & Mastering.

Welcome to Poland: Another country in the midst of fearful flux; where a huge proportion of the country feel their voice is no longer represented by the government; where raw emotions are being exploited cheaply by media to distract, divert and crudely divide; where there is more of a need than ever for like-minded positive souls to unite without prejudice and work together for a better future. The headlines sound too familiar for many of us in the world. But just as Trump does not represent most people in America and Brexit doesn't define everyone in Britain, Poland's right wing government does not exemplify the majority of Polish people. Like all world citizens, our generation and younger are good-minded, thoughtful people who do want to bring down barriers and work together. Their vision is one of inclusion and one of a proud future and how we can improve the lives of our children and grandchildren... Not become entangled in embittered roots of the past. It's evident in Poland's thriving creative cultures from the provocative art of Katarzyna Kozyra to the literature and poetry and films of Wojciech Kuczok. It's evident in the stark optimist architecture of Daniel Libeskind. It's evident in Krakow's thriving club scene and the country's bubbling pools of electronic music talent. It's everything Catz N Dogz do: their attitude, their music, their labels, their WOODED festival and, perhaps most importantly, their friends. Not just there to carry you home; friends carry you everywhere. And right here on 'Friends Of Pets' Catz N Dogz are carrying their companions' creativity with the same esteem and pride they host their Polish festival. A cultural statement and powerful showcase of their country's great thinkers, creators, collaborators and disrupters in electronic music, across 16 tracks

Mothball Record presents the first collaboration between Hysteric (Public Possession, Fuego International, Bordello A Parigi) and the prolific Shelter (from Plaisir Partagé and International Feel), who are now working together as H&S. Both known for their edit skills and obscure taste, they now bring us dark balearic versions of two underground Italo killers. With strong new beat influences, and two versions of each track for added flexibility, this record can fit easily in different sets. Limited 300 copies with slick 80s design.

Italian duo Minimono are next to release on Elephant Moon.
Side A takes off with the title track, a funky number with groovy bassline, timeless beats and glorious pads. Next up is 'Cronimo', which has a disco-inflected rhythm at its core.
On the flip, 'Long Afterwards' maintains the unmistakeable Minimono sound, introducing vocal clips to bring a human element to the music this is a jazzy, funk-laced roll out.
Finally, 'I See You' brings things down to a slower pace which gives you time to absorb the whole EP while also investigating new terrain.
A beautiful collection of music we're sure you'll agree. Catch it while you can!

After kicking of 2017 with the introduction of Faune on the last release, Ornate continues in the same vein by welcoming yet another new talent into the fold. The ambitious Amsterdam-based Sota approached Ornate with a demo that he was willing to press up himself as part of a competition he had won, but the quality of the tracks was so strong we offered to press the record ourselves and give him the opportunity to start his own label with the competition prize.Sota launched Talaman at the very start of 2017 with the Closer EP, providing the first evidence of his razor-sharp production skills. The Inverse EP reveals further dimensions to his sound, dealing in assured club tracks that strike a perfect chord between functional and soulful. Deep chords, shimmering textures and subtle, addictive grooves permeate the three tracks on the Inverse EP, where the immediacy of the elements makes for impeccable dancefloor material.
Warm, laidback atmospherics on top of punchy sections nod to Sota's Spanish roots and his Dutch location. It's a strong combination that sets the promising young artist on course to make a lasting impression with his own brand of immersive house music.

Following his breakthrough release on DBA as The Room Below two years back, Henry Keen returns with a package to match the quality and depth of 2015's Homemade Waves EP.
Born in Bristol, raised in Dorset and residing in London, Henry Keen aka The Room Below has been DJing and collecting vinyl for over 20 years. As Soundspecies alongside his brother he was championed by Gilles Peterson's Worldwide show and London institution CDR. The alias 'The Room Below" was coined to coincide with Henry's analogue re-working of close friend Paul White's 'Rapping With' LP. Since then he has maintained this alias for his house and techno composition. They pay homage to the legendary Chicago and Detroit artists that inspired him back in the 80's and 90's, and to the broken sound of early noughties West London.

Timmy P's latest outing on Dessous Recordings continues the long list of illustrious labels that have been home to his house vision. Now based in London, Timmy has a string of emphatic releases under his belt, not least on influential imprints such as Local Talk, Extended Play, Dirt Crew and MadTech. With Safety First, Timmy's playful approach to the deeper side of house shines though. The title track mixes crisp, crunchy drums with warm, soft pads and a bubbling bass line - a deep rolling cut with plenty of punch for the floor. The fantastically named 'Grim Fandango' is a little tougher, with the snares and claps snapping tightly over a taut, un-resistible vibe. Timmy's balance of dynamics is masterful, each element perfectly complimenting each other to create a tour de force over 8 minutes. 'Bosh' is similarly crafted - the original echoing classic 90s house but feeling completely fresh for 2016, while James Dexter's remix is a robust, deep roller. This is house music made with joy and passion.

Special remarks : Limited 300 cps 12" with printed sleeve. Featuring Haralds deluxe version of his hit song "Sabor Latino".
Kris- & Konflikthantering III/III (KLN009) is the final ending with 2, 14-minute plus tracks. One dedicated to the ancient rave grounds of Hellasgarden where it all began in terms of dancing in dirty fields lit by sonar sweeps from the broadcast masts and strobes visible all the way to the city. The last song is the very live version of Sabor Latino, birds from the garden, hypnotic basses from the MC-202 and shimmering arps from the sun, a sunrise anthem in its own. Let the summer begin. Kris- & Konflikthantering is Swedish for 'crises and conflict management,' as well as a course at university guiding you how to manage scenarios involving crises and strategies in handling conflicts. This album was put together while Harald was taking this course. This album was made during semi-unconscious conditions and is an emotional transcription of experiences to the language of sequences and frequencies. The soundscape is a warm fuzzy travel from krauty basslines, vocal fragments and mantras through echoes and reverberating tunnels with shimmering arpeggios, field recordings and programed patterns in ancient Japanese Roland techniques. All recorded on the Studer B67 master tape recorder, the heart of the Kranglan Broadcast studio. The album is being released as a three episode series with exclusive remixes on the 12s. Kris- & Konflikthantering I/III (KLN007) features 4 tracks with traces from Harald's latest release Fritids EP on Studio Barnhus as well as a remix by Petter Nordkvist under yet another moniker..

With additional successes under such labels as Taub, Latence releases once again on Play Label Records for his fresh Superheated EP.
Collaborating ideas from his teen years in Belgium through the 90's, with more progressive inspirations, Latence has materialized a unique style, which is a celebration of timeless dance music and it's continued influences on forward-thinking artists.
Kicking things off with his title-track, Pablo flaunts a subtle build of off beat chords injected around playful and erratic acid house influences. A busy and varied concoction of sounds topped with provocative whispers.
Deeper Amplitude is the second of this four track EP, and as the name suggests, we are provided with ample bass, accompanied by snippets of melodic discord and a boisterous snare, fearless and rhythmic.
Metastable lays a minimalist percussive foundation, sporting a retro 70s synth that steals focus with its quirky pitch shifts, a classic example of Latence's immense talent for blending influences across eras.
Latence closes with Acido Basic, an eccentric finale to this eclectic EP. Using exotic vocal sampling centered around chemical compounds, he simplifies his percussive layers to a clean texture, which form the bedrock for his experimentations.

It's a match made in dancefloor heaven: Swedish house maestro Mr. Tophat and pop phenomena Robyn have come together for Trust Me, a three-tracker of dark disco and luscious grooves that only an inspired pairing such as this could conceive of. With each track going well beyond the nine-minute marker, Trust Me is the artistic culmination of two artists joining together in the studio and putting pure inspiration to tape, resulting in some of the loosest and most intriguing music either has made in their careers.
Although Robyn and Mr. Tophat have known each other personally for nearly a decade, the first time they professionally crossed paths was last year, when the latter contributed a few remixes of material from Robyn's EP with La Bagatelle Magique, Love Is Free. 'I wasn't making my own music at the time, so he forced his way into my studio and said, 'We're going to make music now,'' Robyn recalls the beginnings of the pair's creative process. 'It was really nice for me to be submerged into his world and lose myself in something that wasn't my own.'
Trust Me is certainly situated in Mr. Tophat's world. The Stockholm-based Junk Yard Connections owner and Karlovak co-founder has spent most of this decade releasing a brilliant stretch of side-long singles with production pal Art Alfie. Those singles' dense, lovingly handcrafted club vibes are perfectly realized on this EP, with some subtle tweaks to the winning formula—a rich intricacy embedded within a deeper-than-deep sound perfect for peak-hour dancing and 3 AM comedown communions alike.

Global purveyors of iconic dancefloor moments and longtime friends Lee Burridge and Hoj have today announced the launch of their new Tale & Tone imprint. The label's six track Storybook EP is set for vinyl release July 21 with digital singles to follow.
Tale & Tone channels Lee and Hoj's experiences exploring the world's most sought after party destinations from the magic of hazy sunrises to the dim warehouses of underground's past. The label acts as a bridge between the diverse environments in which dance music thrives and a showcase of the unique stories told by its sounds and devotées.
The Storybook EP will chart the Tale & Tone journey starting with a full vinyl release on July 21 and digital singles to follow. The EP begins with the mystic groove of Daso and Lutz's Better followed by the Caribbean inspired ethereal soundscapes of Cornucopia's Letter for Poly. All Day I Dream mainstay Lost Desert has aligned with Amari for the intricately layered, vocal driver Hunter, while the revelatory soul of Dance Spirits Wash Me Clean calls out to the calmer side of the electronic spectrum. The release is capped off with the late night affair of Newman's The Sky and Earth and
In Hoj's own words on Tale & Tone, "Lee and I are great friends and have been talking about starting a new project together for a long time. As DJs, we play a huge range of music in any given set, and we wanted to start a label that was less about a specific sound and more about showcasing great songs that we love to play - songs with story and groove. Tale & Tone features the music Lee and I would play in a back-to-back set. And the music we imagine playing at our dream night time ball."
This new venture offers a unique look into the minds and souls of the label heads, an intimate aural world with palpable authenticity. Lee and Hoj ask listeners to come along for the journey as these two best friends explore music close to their hearts cherry picked from legends in the scene and rising-stars alike. This is their story.

Detroit Techno legend Anthony "Shake" Shakir is a person who should need no introduction. He has been a long time veteran of the scene since the late 1980's, releasing music using many different pseudonyms and working alongside other heavy hitters including; Carl Craig, Keith Tucker, Juan Atkins and many more throughout his long career. A career that has seen him consistently on the cutting edge of Techno, releasing ground breaking records, setting up seminal record labels and building near mythical status within the global electronic music community.
The "Club Scam EP" was originally released in 1993 and lead track "That's What I Want" is based around an inspired chopped up vocal sample lifted from the B-52's 1982 underground hit "Mesopotamia" used here to devastating effect across 2 different mixes and featuring Shake's trademark Garage-like skippy drum programming. "The Ying & Yang" and "My Mantra" are much deeper affairs, 2 variations of the same track building slowly into cascades of insistent drum programming and futuristic Detroit pads while retaining enough bounce to rock even the staunchest of dance-floors. Basically, the "Club Scam EP" is the real deal, a true connoisseurs record, one for the heads, but one for the feet also, Shake's music manages to stimulate the mind and make you want to dance at the same time. Legendary stuff indeed.
This 2015 re-press and re-master has been brought to you with the cooperation and full permission of KMS Records, Detroit, MI. and features all original 1993 label artwork.

Still reeking from the filth of the TV studio, tabloid mongering and howls of blasphemy from the old guard, DJ Seinfeld is proving to be a hardened veteran of the circuit. A new anti-hero for a humourless and devoid internet age kicking against the Hollywood reptiles.
'Ruff Hysteria' is the sounds from the cutting room floor deemed too unsavoury for public consumption. It's the grind of acid in the hotel lobby and the incessant pulse of a walkman tucked into a tuxedo pocket oozing it's way into the central nervous system. It's four tracks abandoned by the mainstream studios picked up by the grotty b-movie generation. The losers, the freaks, gore heads. Bare bones tackle for the floor and analogue anthems for the disenchanted.

Dusky present the latest 17 Steps release with the 'Cold Heart EP', a four track package that cements their ability to craft a unique range of house and techno soundscapes.
Having spent last year releasing their 'Outer' LP, as well as delivering their second acclaimed Essential Mix and touring a new live show, the 'Cold Heart EP' sees the prolific duo return to their roots in textured house and techno with four powerful DJ tools.
With a nod to vintage New York house through a carefully sourced vocal sample, lead track 'Cold Heart' is a blissed out, atmospheric house epic that blends crisp percussion, soulful hooks, washing pads and a hypnotic lead organ melody.
A favourite from the duo's recent DJ sets, 'Psychic Life Coach' shuffles with dubby grooves, skippy drums and ethereal vocal cut-ups, before 'Bowed' offers a high energy dose of cosmic disco and ravey techno flavours, Rounding things off, closing track 'Balfour Betty' is built around warm, swirling synth textures that meet at the intersection of Detroit techno and vintage progressive trance.

Yoruba Records is proud to welcome back Toto Chiavetta for the release of his debut album, 'Impermanence', split on vinyl format over two 12's. Hailing from Catania, Sicily, Toto is known for his deep, techy, and often moody dancefloor-ready jams. On 'Impermanence' (Part 2), 'Don't Give Hope Away' revisits Toto's focus on the peak hour dancefloor, a warm and thick bass ushers in a smooth and spacey vocal that is definitely one to get people moving. The title track of this release, 'Impermanence', keeps things chugging along with a classic deep house sound. The bassline commands you to move you your body as Tshaka Campbell's spoken word vocal will have you lost in the moment. We couldn't be more proud to offer this debut album, one that highlights Toto's growth as an artist while maintaining a strict focus on the dancefloor. DJs and listeners alike will find these tunes well suited for the late night hours, listen and enjoy!

Long before FatCat was the renowned independent label it is today, it was a record shop specialising primarily in Detroit and Chicago-based techno and house.
Run by Alex Knight and Dave Cawley (still at the helm of FatCat and FCR), plus Andy Martin and Lee InSync, the shop opened in Crawley during 1988, then moved to Covent Garden in 1990.
Jeff Mills, Andrew Weatherall, Richie Hawtin, DJ Rush, Steve Bicknell, Robert Hood, DJ Funk, DJ Dion and Slam were just a few keen shoppers who'd buy 12's whenever in town.
With central London then a thriving hub for both record stores and clubs, FatCat soon became an essential destination at the epicentre of underground dance music culture - particularly in establishing itself as a home for the first wave of UK electronica, supporting artists like Aphex Twin, Black Dog, B12 and Evolution.
The store closed in 1997, and the record label was born in its place, initially releasing electronic music by To Rococo Rot, Matmos, V/VVM, POLE, Insync vs. Mysteron, Gescom and more, before Alex and Dave's tastes broadened and moved away from tracks aimed at a club environment.
'When we started the label we didn't want to be pigeonholed into one style, sound or genre; it was this freedom to move freely that we sought', explains Dave Cawley. 'We spent so many years surrounded by dance music that we needed to explore other threads (whilst still maintaining an electronic and experimental element to much of FatCat's output over the years).'
Now in its 19th year FatCat has a firm ethos of championing new and undiscovered artists. With offshoot imprints 130701 Records, Split Series, Splinter Series and Palmist Records, the label has cultivated a diverse and rich catalogue of releases from talent including Max Richter, C Duncan, Sigur Ros, Ian William Craig, Animal Collective, Frightened Rabbit, Vashti Bunyan, Múm, The Twilight Sad, Honeyblood, Hauschka, Dustin O'Halloran and Nina Nastasia.
Now the FatCat records story has come full circle. With dates for 12's featuring Mall Grab, DJJ, Ali Berger, Grain, E&D, Lee Grainge and Steve Bicknell to be announced
'FCR is going to be our label releasing club records that we like. I listen to what we have coming up and although it's all over the shop - from the driving house of Cottam, to the two step vocal cuts of E&D - it's all FatCat . Both Alex and I are really excited to be finally releasing club 12's again. For now neither of us have any expectations - it'll be small vinyl runs, plus hopefully some parties to share the sounds we like,' states Cawley.
FCR's first release is the deep future classic 'I Can't Carry On' by Cottam, accompanied by a remix from Detroit's Todd Modes on the flip.
'I Can't Carry On', is a proper Chi-style-deep-house-classic-in-the-making, whose layers subtly build over 12 immersive minutes. With a raw driving bassline, deep strings and killer underground vocal sample, it stands up easily against early Ron Trent and Lil Louis favourites.
Cottam shot to notoriety in 2009 with three limited edition 12"s that blew up the underground deep house and nu-disco scenes with no advertising and no info - combining neo-soul, afrobeat and hip hop with slo-mo house grooves all three sold out in double quick time and ended up in many 'best of 2009' charts.
Since then, Cottam has concentrated on developing his own style of sub-aquatic acid house - remixes for Luv Jam on Phonica's label, Pattern Select on Delusions of Grandeur and Morning Factory on 20:20 Vision offshoot Fina have complemented original tracks on Quintessentials, Wolf Music, German undercover label Story and the summer anthem 'Sunrise Sunset'. The journey continues with his most accomplished tracks yet on the Deep Deep Down EP for Aus Music and a remix for Geoff Leopard on Endless Flight.
A burgeoning career behind the decks has seen Cottam DJ around the world from London & Ibiza super clubs to the dirtiest basements of Berlin and Manchester.
