Make Love In Public Spaces is a new but not so mysterious offshoot of a label which will be familiar to anyone who has been to a certain erotically charged discotheque with a big heart in East London over the last 4 years. They launch with a three track release from Adesse Versions that recasts underground 90s classics of some vintage in his own inimitable style. Adesse Versions is the anonymous alias of a techno producer with previous work for Ostgut Ton and Curle, showing his house side and who you will no doubt recognise from his most recent work Trus'me's Prime Numbers label as Adesse.

NAAR continues to show its pedigree for hybrid music with James Hadfield's (1 half of Lizards) freshman release on the label straddling the lines between Techno Drive & Cinematic Pathos on the track "Buried Answers" then coming at it from all angles into the frankly unhinged cut "Literate". Tiago Manages to change the vibe yet keep the spirit of the original as he pours some acid onto his freeform remix of Literate, while Jamie Blanco's remix of Buried Answers sees him channeling 80s New Wave Proto House sounds to amazing effect with an opus that sounds equal parts New Order and Severed Heads.

it was in february 2015 when japanese producer and sound designer kuniyuki takahashi, sometimes known as koss, releases with the ep 'newwave project '2' a record, that tapped some roots of his musical education: new wave, german electro punk from bands like a daf, ebm from acts like front 242 as well as industrial music.
styles, about kuniyuki claims that they are his 'favourite music'. now, nearly two years after his first newwave project ep, he drops an album that is leaning towards his musical love from the past. compared to his former work, that was rooted in worlds of classic, jazz, house, ambient, and electronic song-writing, his new tunes are full of melodic drifts and rhythmical shifts.
as usual all is loaded with tones and rhythms straight from the heart that filter and modulate human emotions without losing their natural source. to get a sound that is fresh but still leaning to the 1980ees, he used some old synthesisers like a roland jupiter 8, a juno 60, a korg ms 20, an old tape echo machine but also new instruments like the roland aira. furthermore, his modular synthesizers talk too.
instead of having a masterplan, kuniyuki just made sound, drifted on his machines and moved into a territory, that his far away from his former sound. also the use sampled voices and other alienated sound sources of unknown origin inject his new tunes otherworldly atmospheres.
his skills as a fine instrumentalist is evidence as kuniyuki also played the piano, percussions or flute, if he felt their warm sound is needed for his freely grooving tracks. some dance in a house or techno outfits.
other slam like a mix of funk and ebm. tunes like 'puzzle' or 'body signal' are twisted treasures that bemuse deeply. in-between you hear the echoes of cosmic spheres, the darkness of the cold war days and some bewitching tribal jungle vibes. a new, moving, unorthodox and yet catchy side of kuniyuki takahashi.
it is not totally novel to him, as he already released some industrial, ebm and electronic with the project drp in 1990 on the belgium label body records. but for his listeners, that know him for detailed house, jazz and classic or that love him as a man of collaborations who already worked together with artists like innervisions jazz house heavyweight henrik schwarz, the famous japanese pianist fumio itabashi or the british synth-pop protest spoken word icon anne clark, the 'newwave project' sheds a light on a different artistic side of kuniyuki takahashi.
it is diversified, has many rhythmical and atmospheric turns but stays stirring and compelling in all twelve tracks. a true new wave, formed, played in and envisioned with a view on the past that was filtered through the now while feeling the future. the cover art work comes from the swiss artist augustin rebetez - a man who also loves to generate unknown poetic universes in his drawings, sculptures, videos and installations.

After Pitto's album "Objects In A Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear" on GREEN, we could not wait to put out fresh material from the blooming artist. With his new multi-layered EP 'Shadows' Pitto yet again takes us deep into house music. The beautiful melody played by Woodie S, the continuos clicking pattern and the synthesised baseline create a sublime piece of audio that has an almost supernatural perspective. The introduction of vocals accentuate's the echoes of the lyrics that adds another dimension to Johannes Brecht Remix.

Following 'Conningham EP' Reach return with another uncompromising 12' from duo Thread. Dropping it's predecessors unashamedly raw bashfulness, ''Goldhawk EP'' is a subtler, deeper affair yet it still maintains its bass heavy, electro leaning edge. The first track ''Ellerslie'' sets the tone for the EP; a trip through the cosmos, with shimmering synth lines taking you on a journey through the galaxy. Subtle variations float effortlessly on the driving rhythm patterns, the bassline only a distant presence. The 2nd cut ''Sycamore'' is another journey into the deep, a slightly more housey affair; a motorik drum patterns carrying an eerie, deep atmosphere that is punctuated by melodic patterns appearing unexpectedly.
On the flip ''The Grove'' instantly works up a sweat - claps, dark synth riffs and a relentless drum pattern. Ferocious, in your face dance floor work out. Rounding-off the EP in style ''Goldhawk'' is the sparsest of the tracks on offer. Built on bare bones frame, there's melodic flourishes, subtle production trickery, galloping along a 2 step-ish percussion pattern. Thread further cementing their eclectic production style with this strong EP.

RMR Records return with another various artists affair that features great new tracks from James Johnston, Ruff Stuff, Timmy P and Mikki Funk.
From start to finish it is an essential EP that will be great bait for both DJs and dancers everywhere........
James Johnston runs the No Matter What label and releases on the likes of Lux, City Fly and many other labels, always marrying Detroit, Chicago and futuristic ideals to killer grooves.....
His cut Get House Now is full of raved up piano stabs, classic vocals and slick bass that really drive it along........
The second track on the A side is by Ruff Stuff, an Italian pair made up of Francois Le Roy and Nanni who have fans in Annie Mac and have released on Dirtybird.
Their track is a big warehouse banger with heavy drums, raw percussion and soulful synth.......
On the flip, Local Talk, extended Play and Sccucci Manucci star and drum obsessive Timmy P offers an upright house jam with airy chords, classic Chicago kicks and a real feel good nature to the groove. The last cut Swhung from Mikki Funk is another gem. The talented producer, who has worked with Music Is Love and has a robust house sound, comes up with a really colourful track with plenty of slick effects, tight drums and clever vocals, a high impact cut that rounds out a great EP overall.................

Your Planet Is Next: a bold threat! Are we talking about Earth The apocalypse Well, with the Doomsday Clock set 30 seconds closer to catastrophe following recent political happenings, Arvid Wretman might be on to something. Or is it a message for planets beyond; a warning of our inevitable interplanetary colonialism in light of the above Wretman's celestial, machine-driven other worldly tracks suggest an attempt to communicate beyond the realms of E*rth.
Making his recorded debut in 2014 with a limited edition self-released cassette tape, Your Planet Is Next quickly caught the ears of those paying attention. He followed up with Junk Yard Connection's debut long player, featuring a more refined set of electro productions that bounced jovially, chugged menacingly and punched erratically and since then; has released a more dusty, experimental cassette offering on Opal Tapes as well as a fantastically lighthearted and life affirming EP for Studio Barnhus (featuring a cover of Cher's 'Believe', believe it or not!)
Fast forward to 2017 and Arvid crash lands on planet Acid Waxa (rumoured to be something of a spiritual home coming) in slick Scandinavian style with I Just Disco; 4 irresistible cuts spanning acid, house, electro and outsider pop at it's most charming and with a tour of the UK to boot!
Aaaron is a producer that's been on our radar for a long time. As demonstrated by his beautiful and stripped back recent work for Connected, Aaaron's tracks have developed a certain maturity that has become impossible to ignore.
Following that signature style, the grooves on Black Arp, his debut EP for Yoshitoshi, flow smartly from his experiences in Berlin's minimal techno/tech house scene. Never too abrupt or intense, Black Arp and Keep Doin It are versatile tracks for many different atmospheres and set styles. Like much of his music, the percussion throughout features elements of tribal house, producing a playful energy and an extra level of accessibility.
Additionally, we're very excited to welcome DJ T., another respected Berliner who really needs no introduction, to the label for the first time. He gives the EP a rough edge with this remix of Black Arp. The distorted synth leads and stabs here filter in and out over a driving tech house groove, giving the release a peak-time option for those in need.

Why do firework designers put the big burst at the end

Why do we eat dessert last

The third and final single from BOOKA SHADE´s recently released GALVANY STREET album with CRAIG WALKER is rather special and contains undoubtedly the most obvious pop hit of the album. It has also quickly become a live favourite on the ongoing album tour across Europe.
LONELIEST BOY is often described as Pet Shop Boys meets Booka Shade. The previously unreleased single & extended versions are quite different from the album version. One highlights the pop qualities and get´s straight to the point, the other with the dancefloor in mind.
But that´s not it... yet.
The previously unreleased JUST LIKE TONIGHT could compete with the best moments of NEW ORDER. Next to LONELIEST BOY it is easily one of the most catchy tunes ever recorded by BOOKA SHADE. Arno and Walter didn´t want to overemphasise the pop context of the album, so one of the 2 songs was dropped even with it´s strong melodies - now it´s time to release it from the vault.
In context with LONELIEST BOY the song works perfectly well. Not as a traditional b-side track, but rather a double a-side single. Same as with LONELIEST BOY in single & extended version.

DJ Yellow rides the rhythm with bravery. An enchanting house trip, topped with a great Ian Pooley remix. If it may sounding and feels familiar, yes it is a superb cover version of Marshall Jefferson's classic. In the rapidly evolving scene of electronic music, there are few DJ's that have seen the beginning, and even fewer that have maintained their position as forward thinking musicians over the last decades. It is without a doubt that DJ Yellow is among these select few.

Originally released in 1996 around the time of Glenn's debut and essential album 'Atmosfear'. The 'C.V.O. Trance EP' fuses deep warm Chicago beats and jazzy Detroit bleeps. Standout track 'Cat N.A. Thy Trap' has a warm enticing old school bass line that has to be heard on a big sound system. Glenn Underground is the founding member of the Strictly Jaz Unit. He was raised on disco classics and freeform jazz in Chicago's Southside, the place where house music was born. Taking inspiration from Chicago's original pioneers, Larry Heard, Ron Hardy, Lil' Louis, and the like, Glenn has produced many sought after house gems for some of the most well respected deep house labels such as Prescription and Guidance. We hit you with the second single from Jimpster's acclaimedSilent Stars LP loaded with the good stuff! The album has received much love from DJ's and critics alike and it's clear that after 25 years in the business Jamie Odell retains his reputation as one of the most talented and consistent electronic artists in the UK. As A&R and DJ he also boasts a fine ear for emerging talent and here he hands over the reigns to two hotly tipped producers to rework his originals. First up we have the incredible Peggy Gou who takes on The Sun Comes Up ft. Jinadu. Her speedy rise through the ranks over the past 12 months has been down to just a handful of brilliant EP's on Rekids and Phonica and her skills as a club DJ. The Berlin based Korean sits somewhere between Detroit, London and Berlin in sound and her DJ sets are an assured, kinetic combination of dark, pulsing house and techno, broken beats and abstract compositions. Her influences shine through on her remix which goes deep and musical whilst retaining an energetic drive for the dancefloor. Perhaps the most mesmerizing, floor-focused track from the LP is up next; Silent Stars. An electronic tribal dance which builds to a speaker-wobbling sub-bass breakdown and wonderful chord section at the climax. Next, a remix from West Coast native Urulu who came to Jimpster's attention through his releases on Let's Play House, Dirt Crew and his own Amadeus label. Trying to describe his remix of Where You Areft. Khalil Anthony is no easy task, fusing elements of techno, broken beat and afro house, but check it out and if you can think of a suitable new sub genre to pigeonhole it with, let us know. Closing the release we have the slow-burning, balearic-tinged beauty known as The Sun Comes Up featuring Jinadu on vocals. This is one to drop in the warm after-glow of a crazy night under the stars when tired legs and happy hearts crave a soulful groove to give them one last lift.

magical, mystical and straight from the heart: after "until then, goodbye" and "a day in the life" the hamburg based art curator, dj and producer lawrence releases 'yoyogi park' - the third part of an album trilogy for mule musiq in collaboration with artist stefan marx.
the album explores unknowingly relations between his very own ambient productions, acoustic sound experiments and the driving force of the dancefloor. the artwork is showing a 360° degree view of the yoyogi park in the heart of tokyo, that stefan marx created for a fanzine for the printed matter nyc book fair in 2015.
known to all people in tokyo and worldwide, the yoyogi park seems to be just another gorgeous everyday green life spot. but behind his beauty and anonymity you can find much craziness and mystery, too. it's like the latest ten tracks by lawrence: behind his abstract beats and compelling functionality you will discover parts of magic with a full-colour palette of mind-expanding sounds.
some of his album tracks contain live samples that he recorded in his hometown hamburg with his band sky walking, consisting of christian naujoks, rvds and himself. others are versions of previous released dreamily sublime ambient tracks.
a one-of-a-kind blend of varied, deep, widescreen and star-crossed electronica that works romantic and enchanting.
his excellent new recordings seduce with in depth house rhythm sensibilities while spreading otherworldly melodies that are almost physical. his vividly immersive tracks have been again produced up-road. some started in his cosy backyard studio in hamburg.
others have been crafted and tough out on the road between cities like berlin, buenos aires, new york city and tokyo. they are all highly entertaining with some analogue warmth in the bloodline that spreads mystery and allure.
lawrence also used some field recordings that he recorded while being in the streets, parks and nature. little particles of a compelling bigger musical picture that is carrying us from joy to melancholy. and even tough the album is made for the dancefloor, its shimmering brilliance goes far beyond usual club music euphoria.
wonderful compelling stuff that could be the perfect starting point for anyone interested in delving into lawrence exclusive world of intimacy and subtly shifting grooves and tones. it is an enchanting one, where feelings unfold in rhythms and melodies without loosing their intenseness during their transfer.

Adam Port and Jimpster have had a special kind of 'virtual' relationship the last few years with a mutual respect for each others productions and output of their respective labels. Keinemusik, which Adam runs alongside Rampa, &ME and Reznik, has grown into one of the most consistent and hottest out there right now with every release creating a big splash and bringing magic to so many dancefloors around the world. Adam recently remixed Jimpster's Eel Pie Island to devastating
effect bringing his own deep, late night atmospherics to the original and creating one of 2016's underground hits in the process. So now we're very pleased to welcome Adam Port (alongside legendary UK artists Stereo MC's) for a full release on Freerange in the form of Changes. Opening the release we have Adam's own remix which sets the tone with a subtle
and gently building groove providing the perfect backdrop for the Stereo MC's esoteric vocal. This lesson in restraint shows why Adam's productions work so well on big systems, letting all the focus shine firmly on the vocal creating an
intense atmosphere with not a single huge breakdown in sight!
Next up we have the original of Changes which takes a more electro approach with a simple bassline and crisp hats and once again allowing the vocal space to take
centre stage for a deep and memorable track with a message.
Finally we have a remix from our own Jimpster opts to push in a completely different direction. Shuffling up the groove and laying down a repeating Rhodes riff we're treated to an altogether more soulful and less stark version making the perfect compliment to the the package. This one makes us think of his remix
of Osunlade's Momma's Groove which is no bad thing we feel! Enjoy!

Hailing from the small town of Stroud, South West England, Marcel Lune has been quickly building his reputation as one of the hottest new talents in the UK Bass Music Scene.
Having discovered an 808 in his parents attic at a young age, it quickly became one his favourite toys and set him off on a musical voyage which is beginning to gather momentum.
Having already released a string of releases including a full album for Studio Rockers last year, this release with Local Talk is a new chapter in the ever growing Marcel Lune saga.
This debut for Local Talk is nothing short of brilliance.
An EP that sits somewhere between the early Floating Points days and Local Talk's very own Crackazat jamming with Harvey Sutherland. From the opening track 'Sketches' Marcel brings broken house rhythms, piano chords and dancing acid lines in a glorius way. The clever vocal arrangement on 'Eat Good' takes no prisoners and on the flip 'Crazy Love', another vocal track, Marcel slows things down a bit together with vocalist Bluesz.
The EP ends with Soul Music, upping the energy level slightly with its snappy, jazz-influenced beats and dancing synth lines.
A beautiful and fitting addition to the ever expanding Local Talk catalogue.

MCDE proudly presents the debut works of 22 year-old Canadian, Michael Gracioppo. Featuring a remix from Fred P (Mule / Underground Quality)..very limited edition.
The label's first 10-inch is headed by My So-Called Friends-the Montrealers deeply personal ode to an over-indulgent past lover.
The fluid drum work and violent bass line sit alongside the words of a punkesque inspired vocal sample. My So-Called Friends tells the story of a sincere and vulnerable young woman facing an inner battle between excessiveness and self-restraint. These drugs they are making me so sad I can't stop taking them.
A2 is a testament of Gracioppo's focus on maintaining a balance between songwriting and sound design.
Sailing unpredictably back and forth in tempo, A2 has been left untitled so as not to taint the piece.
Enlisted on remix duties, the always excellent Fred P flawlessly Reshapes Gracioppo's A1 into a hymn suited for the early morning comedowns.
Fred Ps vibrant pads resonate up and down in frequency and wrap the wavering vocal in warmth and comfort.
"In My House" is a "bucket list" song Nickodemus always dreamed of covering into an actual House version. After a weekend of old-school partying in the clubs & hanging with Baby Bam from the Jungle Brothers in Brooklyn, they called over Carol C & Lisa Shaw to lay down some vocals. Going for that straight ahead 90's hard hitting house vibe, Bam flipped his verse to show everyone how it was done back in the days. French house producer ART OF TONES aka Llorca (20:20 Vision / Local Talk) made 2 remix versions on the flip-side taking it deeper for the European dancefloors
After the US elections in November, Nickodemus decided the need to add another cover, updating Sagat's 1994 classic "FUNK THAT" for the B-Side. It features NYC house music party & radio host legends THE ILLUSTRIOUS BLACKS over a funky break & deep chords reminiscing the OG. "Question, how can someone who is sexist racist, homophopic, Islamophobic, and an ableist become president of the United States of America FUNK THAT!"

Chromatics formed in the Pacific Northwest as a rickety no-wave band more than a decade ago, but re-emerged in the mid-2000s with a revamped lineup and a new sound that nicely coincided with a resurgence of interest in the slow, dreamy, not-always-Italian dance-pop subgenre known as Italo disco. As with other acts on New Jersey-based Italians Do It Better, a label co-founded by group mastermind Johnny Jewel, Chromatics didn't just incorporate the vocoders and vintage synth arpeggios of the turn-of-the-1980s originals, they added the brittle guitars, dubby reverb, and urban dread of post-punk.

Kill for Love, Chromatics' first album since Night Drive, finally gives this loosely associated, prematurely decayed musical aesthetic its magnum opus-- and brilliantly transcends it.
After delivering Symmetry's "Theme For An Imaginary Film" LP earlier in the year, Johnny Jewel makes no bones about this 90 minute long player's tour-de-force ambitions from the opening track, a synth-draped cover of Neil Young's"Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)".In a recent interview Jewel reveals some of the secrets behind the album, 'We began working on "Kill For Love" two months after "Night Drive" was released in the summer of 2007. The process is very slow. Working & reworking ideas in an attempt to capture what i think is the true essence of the song. I knew exactly what the record was going to look like in my mind. I say "look like" because i could see the color of it long before i could hear the sound of it.'
The album as a whole will bring out the synaesthesic qualities in anyone and in particular album highlights "Lady" and "These Streets Will Never Look The Same" paint the entire spectrum with their all encompassing soundscapes.
