San Francisco threepiece live band PillowTalk are surprising dance music treasures. Manipulating pop melodies, classic R&B, soul and boogie into the loose rhythms of house music and performing live on stages in nightclub settings across the world, they have bridged an impossible gulf between worlds and created new expectations for electronic producers and live musicians alike.
Their success is twofold, for not only are they stand out performers capturing the stage with Sammy D's bold and sultry vocals, multiinstrumentalist Ryan Williams' dextrous guitar and keys and Mikey Tello's fluid synth work (not to mention their matching classic black tie attire) they are also musical chameleons. As comfortable creating the upbeat 80sinspired synthpop heard in lead single 'Lullaby', as the psychedelic funk of 'We All Have Rhythm' and the classic rock and roll of 'Devil's Run', PillowTalk also adeptly deliver slow electronic ballads ('Naive') and house driven anthems ('If I Try') for their eloquent debut LP, 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' on their home label Wolf + Lamb. A soundtrack to long nights, lazy days and the hazy space between sleeping and waking, the record spans everything you want from the band: sunsplashed jams, peaktime party tunes and lowlit moments of intimacy.

Raffaello & Palermo is the union of two friends and old LPH brothers, Damon Palermo, a.k.a. Magic Touch, and Raphae¨l Valensi, a.k.a. Laura Ingalls. Palermo's an Angeleno who came up in the Bay Area scene of the mid-aughts and Valensi's a Frenchman dwelling in Shanghai, perhaps best known for his work as the Horses, a duo comprised of him and Cle´ment Pony.
So there's the backstory. What's actually on this slab of wax, though
Four chunky anthems that nimbly weave ravey mayhem into filter house and disco edits, sometimes touching on almost psychedelic trance-like tropes. If you don't hear one of these out every weekend night this summer, you're going to the wrong parties.

British producer Reformed Society is on a steadfast mission to dig deeper by going against the grain, standing up to the status quo and daring to do something different. A self proclaimed goal that is easily noticeable in his first release for made of CONCRETE', wherein he reveals three original tracks and a remix by Gathaspar, one of the label's regulars.
Kicking things off with High Tension', a high strung stripped back piece with an aerial feel, the artist builds up the entire mood of the EP from scratch. A clear-cut, steady groove whose versatility makes it relevant as an intro, outro or interlude.
Gathaspar's Rausch Remix is a sub-bassy reinterpretation of the initial piece, filled with contorted whirs and whizzes that give the track a sub-aquatic feel.
On Volgende Halte', the opening vocal sample shifts from a seemingly conventional soundbite to a recurringly haunting snippet that remains etched into the listener's brain. Rhythmical rolling pads galvanize the groove, making for an eerie yet relaxed overall vibe.
Movement inducing from the get go, final offering Orbiting Jupiter' centers around wavering bass leads, while playing on a blend of spacious synths and timbered percussion patterns.

Simon Garcia joins the Freerange fold for their 196th release where he delivers two brilliant originals that seem to encapsulate the label's sound perfectly. The Spanish producer has slowly but surely built his reputation over the last few years with quality releases on Guy Gerber's Supplemental Facts, Ripperton's Perspectiv and most recently Steve Bug's Poker Flat Recordings.
Radians instantly draws you in with a heavy, looped-up rolling bassline and driving hats creating an intense groove for the slowly building chords and arpeggiating layers of synths. Echoing claps bring hints of techno to the track and the weaving theramin line throws in another curveball when trying to pigeonhole the style of this track. Best to just say that we loved this on first listen, reminding us of some of the best Milton Jackson releases over the years.
On How Long, Simon drops the BPM's a touch for a brilliant warm up jam which oozes with a low-slung funk, a simple chiming melody building to a peak where waves of sparkling chords are ready and waiting to make love to your ears on the dancefloor.
Finally, we're very pleased to have Matthew Styles onboard for his remix of Radians. Matthew has been delivering the goods time after time with standout releases on Running Back, Classic and Tamed to name a few. Remixes on Crosstown Rebels, Tsuba and Visionquest show how diverse he can go but always with his own style and attention to detail in the production which impresses us most. Here he comes up trumps once again with a rolling, stripped-back techy house groove which really locks into a hypnotic vibe. And already tried and tested by Dinky in Panarama Bar to great response!

Saved Records present the fourth installment of their acclaimed collection sampler series, "Collection D". Featuring a diverse selection of artists; only two of which are close members of the Saved family, the ten-track collection welcomes a host of new friends with a heavy focus on new and emerging talent.
Perfectly summing up the ethos of the label, these fresh producers unleash a collection of uncompromising, underground club-leaning bombs.
Regular Saved cohort &ME gets the collection underway with label-mates Rampa and Re.You's fresh remix of 'Blitz',Rob Cockerton, a permanent fixture behind the decks at Saved parties over the years, puts his first record out here. Mulletover's Geddes makes his first appearance on Saved with the frenetic "Standup" just as rising Italian duo Macromism, New York's Vanjee, Lancaster and Denney & Guthrie all make their Saved debuts.
Collection D has a stripped back and heady aesthetic running throughout its entirety. Jacking beats, driving basslines and pumping 303 rhythms feature heavily, creating a spine of powerful bottom end sonics.
There is plenty of energy, old school vibes and a darker edge on display across the ten tacks too, making this the most underground collection of the series yet"

Born and raised in East London, everything about Brett Gould's career so far has been about a slow development of his sound. From his debut single 'Premonition' on Low Bit Records (who's releases have included tracks from the likes of Kassey Voorn and Guy Mantzur) Brett's music has been pricking up ears on a remarkably regular basis. So much so, that releases have swiftly followed on the likes of Toolroom, Glasgow Underground and OFF Recordings to date, with his latest release 'Rhythm
Drop' reaching number 13 in the Beatport Tech House Charts, and DJ support coming from the likes of Rob da Bank, Monki (BBC Radio1,) Josh Butler, Waifs and Strays, Sasha and Doctor Dru. His latest tracks out on the "Hold On" EP on Definition:Music are some proper peaktime dancefloor
killers..

There's plenty of fresh faces in dance music and there's plenty of legends, but how often do you come across a legendary fresh face Christian Taylor aka DJ Kon is about as FRESH as it gets and yet has been doing it since before most of us knew how to cue a record.
Graffiti writer since '83, DJ since '85, in clubs since '91 and that was only the beginning. Kon may be an acronym for "King Of Nothing" but after taking a look at his accomplishments he seems like the King of PLENTY. He won roller disco competitions as a kid, put out hip hop 12"s for Bobbito's "Fondle Em" and Rawkus Records. In 2006 BBE Records named Kon & Amir (his former partner) "The Kings Of Diggin'" a title that solidified Kon's reputation as growing one of the worlds most priceless record collections (once our beloved Vinyl Connection closed the collection went to Kon). He's also in our humble opinions pretty much the best disco DJ (technical and programming) we've ever encountered.
We met Kon as fresh faces ourselves way before Soul Clap took off. We were still entrenched in Boston's top 40 night life and shared a residency together at a club called Aria (then many others). Kon took us under his wing and set our minds free empowering us with knowledge of disco, boogie, funk and the old school. Since our lives on the road have taken us far and wide, Kon has transported us back home with his impossibly dope edits and reworks. As his bio states, Kon has positioned himself at the forefront of a group of multitrack collectors who posses digital versions of the original recording sessions of some of pop music's greatest artists. This resource along with Kon's vast knowledge of music has resulted in his creation of some of the most dance floor friendly edits and remixes today, PERIOD.
This moment however, is not about edits or digging but rather about pure inspiration born out lovelorn sorrow. After a lifetime in music, the "All About Youx EP" is some of Kon's first original house music productions which showcase an emerging deep sound, a fusion of old and new, filling a very necessary gap in House music. These songs, all about love and his experience of loving somebody take the dance floor to a place of both joy and pain. Was it her charm and her passion She'll always love you forever Love you / don't love you all of these questions are posed poetically in this powerfully truthfully EP where love truly is the message.
In Kon's words: "Love is many things... a journey, a feeling, its something you do, a state of being... and when you love unconditionally, you take a risk, being completely vulnerable, willing to give without any expectations. No matter what part of the world I find myself in I realize in our quest for happiness, we all really do want the same things in life. Sometimes we get lost along the way, still we keep pushing on, searching, trying to find our way. I've learned that in the end if you hold back in fear of winning or losing... either way you may wind up with nothing."
The digital release also includes remixes from Soul Clap Records family members Nick Monaco and Night Plane who add their signature twists of deepness.

These days house music is often about a 4/4 beat and a catchy groove. The idea is to do something simple to which you can get your groove and, and not so much about listening. The borders of electronic dance music makes room for the hypnotic beats, the driving grooves, but not always the melodic universes. Leman & Dieckmann have been making music for several years, both together and apart, but almost all of their music was driven mainly by the beat. But both having an urge to discover the dynamics of melodic synths and melodic percussion they decided to make an album. They agreed that the album had to tell a story, and like so many times before in music the topic became love. The story they try to tell through the music on the album 'Takes Two' is the story of a breakup, the denial of the need of love, and the discover of the fact that often in life it takes two, to be happy. The album features the Swedish/Danish jazz singer TYRA on the groovy house track 'Movement' and the percussion based Balearic inspired track 'The Meeting'. Also the title track 'Takes Two' is featured by the Danish singer Ms. O, who, on top of beautiful Rhodes chords and minimal drums, manages to tell the story of sincerely need and unrequited love. 'The Stranger', a track about the autodidactic act of a one night stand as a part of moving on, is featured by the very talented Danish singer Julie Christiansen. The album, which consist of 10 original tracks, ranges from the deepest atmospheric Deep House to groovy Tech House to old-school trancy house. 'Takes Two' definitely differs from the masses, and bring a breath of fresh air to the circulating sound of 2014 .

Make no mistake, 'Backyard', Monte's new single, will reign supreme in the coming months. The Hamburg based DJ and producer, a frequent guest to the Beatport top 10 ever since his first Beatport #1 hit 'True' (2012, JEUDI Records), excels himself with this relentlessly forward thinking new track. It comes as little surprise that Disclosure have lined up his next release for their label, Method White.
'Backyard' captivates you from the very first second, a throbbing bassline sets the tone, entangled by a melody that manages to sound both warm and analogue as well as inapproachably cool and sexy; evoking memories of early eighties Hip-Hop and retro computer games while embodying progressiveness. Guest singer David Manning from the Baalsaal / JEUDI Records camp, rounds up the whole affair by adding warm vocals about love in our emotionally cold times: 'Stone cold love in the backyard'.
Listen to 'Backyard' HERE - http://po.st/EwYPvL
'That statement reflects 90% of today's generation', assures Monte. 'Everyone's connected, postings here and selfies there, but there's no real connection. Even when you sit at the same table with people, conversations are monosyllabic and everyone instantly pulls out their smartphone. It's pretty much impossible to really get through to a person these days', says Monte, musing: 'We're on the wrong track, moving apart instead of towards one another'.
Human relations in the age of social media - a topic otherwise researched in complex academic studies is delivered by Monte in a single, emotionally and atmospherically dense song. Although strictly speaking, 'Backyard' also is the result of years of academic studies, given that Monte has a profound musical education under his belt: He studied drums for 12 years and also took arrangement and orchestration lessons during that time.
After graduating with a diploma, Monte worked as an arranger and co-producer in a big studio in Hamburg. To this date, he also finds time to fill in as a professional drummer for prestigious international artists. Working as a sound designer and synth programmer in his own studio, Monte can be found amid an impressive collection of analogue synths and drum machines. He builds his own programs and custom solutions and has his own YouTube channel hosting production tutorials. As a professional mix engineer, Monte further delivered #1 hits for high profile artists such as Adana Twins, Purple Disco Machine, and Robosonic.
His work as a mix engineer also brought him to the club nights at Hamburg's Baalsaal, where he was asked in 2012 if he would be interested in contributing a song to a little compilation of the club's own label JEUDI Records. Monte was interested indeed and delivered 'True'. 'The day the compilation was released, my phone just wouldn't stop ringing because people couldn't believe how the track was marching straight to the top of the charts. That's how it all started'.
It's safe to say that Monte's phone will be once more ringing a lot in a few week's time.

It's been a while since we did something on our subdivision Petite. You know, this is where we like to re-release those forgotten pearls, with a new remix on the flip.
This time we chose for Kinda Kickin' by DJ Boom, which is in fact a collaboration between Matthew Herbert and Charles Webster. The original vinyl goes for over 110eur on Discogs and is a longtime favourite of ours. We heard Move D play it at a festival this summer, but strangely enough not too many other people seem to know about this house gem.
On remix duties this time someone very close to the label (and our hearts) since the first collaboration in 2007 for 'Acid Bells'. Efdemin recently delivered what is maybe his best album to date and also this remix for Kinda Kickin' is absolutely superb. Enjoy.

Way before release, Mexico City project Heat Vibes' EP tracks caused a stir on Soundcloud and in clubs. As people expect these gems to come out on vinyl, we at Kakudo records thought, we best give you an EP that certifies to raise the floor heating while remaining true to Kakudo's purist vinyl-styled approach to classic house and techno styles. To pump you right into the future while making you feel the whole history of cherished sounds of heart and soul!
A1: Song Stronge
Th sound foundations of early 90ies Chicago and NYC housemusic define Heat Vibes' trademark. With a bassline as hyper as earliest rave days in y'all garage, this track will kill doubts by the drop!
A2: Nasty Troubble
Nasty - as we like it... Marching and shuffling in on a low slung beat and dry drums, the 92' style killer chords make this a real powerhouse affair. Root out your troubles!
B1: Certified
This track ensures people rushin' the floor. Classic deep house chords meet euphoric vocal bits and a battery full of charged and vibrant beats to fill you up with a mood that sets you free from any stress.
B2: Certified / Locklead Mix
Refixing Certfied demandingly, wonderkid Locklead ventures asides of the Hot Haus Records stable garnering the original with a nasty beat n bass workout. As abstract as raw n funky. Bangers anyone Call Locklead! The member of Utrecht*s Slapfunk Crew is sure to bang n slap your floor.

2016 is shaping to be a fantastic year for Rebirth Records, the 10th Year anniversary and the 100th release...To celebrate this special date the label owner Shield and his right arm Robytek get in the studio to collaborate with two of the most innovative figures of the end of 70s / early 80s. The A side is the The Pyramids with Isabelle Antena, French singer and songwriter, founding member of electro-samba pioneers Antena.
In the 1990s she also led another group, the Powaga Sisters, for three albums between until 2004. Alongside these projects she maintained a solo music career, selling over a million albums and earning musical acclaim across the globe. From Camino Del Sol (1982) to Bossa Super Nova (2010), her cool latin, bossa, jazz and funk vibes have delighted ears and feet worldwide. The Pyramids is something really special, a cosmic and balearic song with a timeless meaning, with the collaboration of Martin Ditcham (Sade's percussionist) for the drum and Paolo Mantini, a real Italian talent, for the bass and chords.
The AA side is NOW, a collaboration with Salvatore Principato (Sal P.) and Dennis Young, known as the vocalist and marimba/percussionist of (for the legendary early 80's NYC band Liquid Liquid) seminal NYC minimalist-funk band Liquid Liquid. The experimental sounding band emerged from New York City's vibrant Downtown scene in 1981, developing their own unique sound which they called big beat, a fusion of irresistible basslines, junkyard percussion and urgent, free-flowing lyrics. The group's successes included club hits such as Cavern (sampled by Grandmaster Flash in the making of White Lines), Bellhead and Optimo in addition to sold-out concerts worldwide. Sal P and Dennis still explore today new ways of writing & performing music. NOW is the experimental way to combine the live drums played by Snacks (the Berlin based duo Rene Corbett & Aljoscha Babel), with the electronic world and the unique musical textures from Sal P and Dennis Young.

The first VA of GOS MUSIC STUDIO RECORDS is a product that
comes from the hands and minds of four artists .
Four artists , four different musical genres .
A vinyl that satisfies all tastes , suitable for all situations.
SIDE A:
Crocodile Soup , one of the best Italian talent , having released on
Tzinah Records, Baile Musik Music and Leone Music , enters into the
graces of tINI ,and he playing at tINI & The Gang of Ibiza.
God Has A Big Ego Problem, its track, is a mix between minimal and
deep , resembling a bit ' of that kind Romanian , mental, full of
rhythm , and of developments in the groove.
The bass is round, and gives a dark tone to the track leaning on the
crisp kick that rests gently on the chords almost imperceptible.
Jecogy .
Atimpuri , our great friend , our revelation , builds an abysmal travel
between the long dubchords and a groove that evolves between hats
and metrics designed mathematically .
The pads accompany the entire track that leads down to the depths
and back into the light. A perfect track for traveling .
SIDE B :
Ali Kuru, he doesn't need any introduction.
A master of house music .
His releases on 8Bit Music and Apparel , are the
modern interpretation of house music with a touch
of classic that never hurts !
Crescent is obviously a playable track in a situation
elegant , but with a little ' imagination you can also
play his track in a DJ set more stringent .
The break is a carpet that unrolls and then depart
with a mix of kick and bass with hats that mention-
ing the golden rules of house music .
Syntesis , Guido Nemola's insanity , enclosed in a song.
The rhythms of the drum machine accompany a synth with a touch of acidity
that smells of old school .
In the end, Guido is a teacher ,who makes music for over ten years.
Recycle Records (his label) is one of the most productive labels of southern
Italy and reflects the soul of her owner : house, deep techno Raw, the merging
of various kinds in a closed epic work suitable to destroy the dancefloor.
Gluck, will be the promoter, through the organization of this vinyl label party
and showcase of the label inside the programming of seasonal Bloom Beach
Bar, one of the most beautiful places in the south of Italy where you can enjoy
electronic music without constraints.

Electro kicks, raw textures, ominous choirs: L' immaginario, Previsto's opening track, ties a bound between Martelli's two releases on Antinote, giving us one last glimpse at the uninhabited post-apocalyptic landscapes drawn in Menti Singole.
However, this time Leonardo Martelli explores a more urban universe, as the use of rap samples on Negli abissi and Lo Schema suggests. Martelli exploits their aggressiveness in a way that somehow reminds us of minimalist rap tapes from Memphis. The third track's title makes it even clearer: called Leggende Metropolitane, the song is
a trip into the darkest blind alleys of the city, an invitation to wander among human wastes, driven by its light kick.
La Luna, is the most contemplative moment of the album, offering us a meditative break before the nightmarish Il
registro, Martelli's brutal come-back to raw electro with a tune which depicts us a hellish engine room for expiating souls. Finally, the record concludes with Previsto, a haunted title track, filled with wailings that give us to contemplate a cruel vision of the urban misery we're stuck in.
Lumieux is from Bucharest, RO and got in contact with electronic music at an early age (14 years) when he decided to continue with this style of music. Deep Down Slam's first 2014 release is a collaboration between London based producer Mikki Funk who already made a name to himself releasing on labels like Say Ahh & MILF and should be already known to many of you and Berlin based producer Peer Du who makes his debut. Peer Du's Original mix of "So Close" featuring vocalist Marty Altmann is a deep warm vocalhouse number good for sunny days to come. Mikki Funk's remix of "So Close" comes more shuffled and has a great vibe with the uplifting drums and wicked bassline giving it the special uk garage house touch. Mikki Funk's "Take You There" is a beautiful downtempo number reminiscent of early house grooves. And finally "Master Groove" from Mikki Funk goes back in time and shows us his skills on the machines. proper deephouse vibes for da heads!

You can always trust Ludovic Llorca. Once a year he locks himself in his studio and works the magic which results in a Local Talk release. His previous releases on Local Talk, The Same Thing ("Classic proto-House-meets-baggy US garage vibe") The Rainbow Song ("It sounds like an underground Summer anthem in waiting") are LT classics and now, Ludo returns with a third release, I Just Can't EP.
While some producers struggle with new ideas, trying to re-invent the genre, Ludo sticks to what he knows best.
Strings and chords combined with a thick and squelchy bass is the foundation of the title track while on the flip, Dirty Stories, is as hypnotic as it is jackin' - in fact, both tracks are so irresistible you'd start wondering if Ludo stole them from a snake charmer.

Three impeccable pieces of stripped down, unfeigned tanz trax make out the debut release of Esther Silex - deejay extraordinaire, Colognian woman-about-town and very dear new addition to the Studio Barnhus family. The gargantuan yet free-flowing bassline of Hans, the menacing tension of Heinrich and the dawntime anthem Oskar are all testaments to Esther's unquestionable status as an impassioned powerhouse with enough West German swagger to create timeless music with equal parts simplicity and beauty.

Always on the scout for the freshest talent, Dirt Crew Recordings breaks into 2016 bringing together a couple of our more recent discoveries, Loz Goddard & Harry Wolfman for their all new 'Square Lane' EP. Relative newcomer, from Manchester and London respectively, the pair in fact debuted on our label in 2015, on independent tracks 'The Schrew' from Harry as a collaboration with Laurence Guy, and Loz's solo jam 'That Same´Thing'. Straight up vibes on the groove stricken 'Uncle Buck', a no questions asked dance floor weapon and a testament to Loz & Harry's ability to bring together the finest samples, synths, live percussive elements and a whole lot of soul. 'Problem Child', gets a bit sleazier, vocal cuts and swirling keys ease us into a broken beat throw down in the break before thrusting us back to the mercy of the straight up four to the floor swing. On the flip resident Dirt Crew Recordings producers and all round top blokes Brame & Hamo came to the table with a funked out version of 'Uncle Buck', enlisting Brame's brother to jam out the smooth stepping live bass for the remix. Rounding out the pressing 'Neck of the Woods' has a blissed out melodic quality, coasting along with a sunny energy and and just the right amount of cowbell, while the digital only offering, 'Sundays' is soulful and shaking in the deepest sense, those bass licks and key riffs definitely give us the feel of this very special day of the week. Uniting on this EP Loz Goddard & Harry Wolfman are a sign of things to come in for Dirt Crew Recordings. We have a lot of huge plans in store for the year ahead already and look forward to a massive 2016 filled with music.

Lee Webster's Soul Reply EP kicks of the year for IUTSAN with two contrasting, yet seemingly connected tracks.
On the 'chocho' side you'll find 'Soul Replied' - a low slung love song with Moodymann-esque sampling and swung-out drums, dipping out occasionally as the female vocal comes in like a lullaby. In contrast on the 'culo' side, you'll find 'Devils Avocado' - an Ibiza terrace style jam that builds from the cutting synth line, a crescendo that finally drops into a total DC10 Weapon.
A strong start to the year for Barcelona based 'I Used to Sleep at Night.
