On B2 Frankfurt's Phil Evans gives 'Blaine Mcconchie' his treatment taking the central melody and building a sparse rhythm workout around it.

Carlo Troja aka Don Carlos is active as a DJ from the late 70's. He debuted as a producer towards the end of the 80's with the single 'Alone' , which became one of the cult tracks of the international Deep House scene. His productions have always mixed House rhythms with afro-american jazz sounds, verging sometime towards disco, sometime towards progressive house or electronic soul. In 1992 Calypso (Irma) released 'Mediterraneo" a mini album all by playing ... Deep Jazzy house !!!

this time he shifts towards a focus on the essentials of electronic club music: sounds and groove, rough and playful interweaved with the aesthetic particles of techno. with his 'point ep', released on the berlin based imprint krakatau records in late 2012, his creative life as a producer for melancholic driven club tunes took off.
several top notch djs played the tune 'point in time', lake people started to tour world-wide with his mesmerizing live set and produced countless remixes for colleagues from all around the globe.
in 2015 he finally released his first album 'purposely uncertain field' on the munich based label permanent vacation and delivered eleven tracks at the interface of techno, ambient, experimental and electronic, that bewitch with hymnal chords, yearningly melodies, detailed production, elaborate sound design and an overall introspective, emotive feeling.
now, just shortly after he published a fresh ep on the dresden based imprint uncanny valley, lake people drops 'phase transition', a new album consisting of ten haunting tracks full of dance suspense.
he recorded all between 2016 and early 2017 on various vintage analog synthesizers, uad and other creative interfaces. to find out if his latest pure slamming tracks work deep, he tried them out during his live shows in order to catch some new ideas directly from the dance floor.
later he refitted the tested material, so that all ten tunes dance together as a compact album, which at times still sounds melancholic and vulnerable, but comes around at large in a more self-assured guise.
you also experience in any tone, rhythmic twist or melody, that his latest music came naturally out of the soul of a producer, who constantly is doing music: at home or on the road. during this continual work flow, he created sparser, direct kicking spheres, that also still bring some drama to the party.
a fine moody you-don't-stop grooving record that follows a heartfelt syuzhet, which is full of temperament, devotional, partly larry-heardish and straight like a bullet, carrying the audience from joy and whimsy too melancholy and sugared desolation. dance this mess around!

Tablon is a new France based independent record label. Supporting artists with a characteristic style, tablon releases music by passion, developing its own vision of today's and tomorrow's dance music.
After a first EP by Arnaud linked in a certain way to Greece, tablon 002 will come from Istanbul. Far from us the idea to make a worldwide music label or refer to any old war between two countries. It just happened like that. Sarp makes amazing music and we are proud to present his new EP. It is called "I care because you don't", the artwork is made by Nefelie and the mastering by Mathieu Berthet in Paris. As we care a lot about the vinyl thing, our releases appear first on 12" and then in digital.

Vilena Records is 5 years old and decided to celebrate with it's first vinyl with 4 tracks. Side A is characterized by dub sounds and two tracks: the first one by Matt Star, German artist who manages Repeat Music and has productions on labels such as Cocoon Records, Kling Klong and many others, the second track is by Alex Veronesi and Paolo Mosca aka Rejekt. Side B is composed of two tech house tracks: the first is by Stan Garac, Spanish artist class '83 that has collaborate with labels like Viva Music and Hall of Fame, while the second track is by one of the greatest artists of Vilena Records, Massimo Pozzi aka Max (Italy).

Gregory Darsa aka POINT G aka Dj Gregory is a long-time galaxy traveler. During one of his journeys, he met Cap'n Cabannon in a mercenary spacecraft, and as they were exchanging time travel techniques, they came out with the idea of creating a flat black hole able to achieve a 20 years trek in just a few minutes. So here we are: Classics & Unreleased Jams, provides a high quality rush fuel that turns any space travel into an exhilarating time experience.

Lost In Time continues on it's path exploring timeless underground house music with Number 8 in the series. The 'Last Step' EP focuses on the extraordinary production talents of Tuccillo, the Italian musician widely regarded for his Unblock studio. This record marks a deviation in direction for Tuccillo, who is recently returning to his roots, making stripped down minimal dubs aimed directly at the dance floor. LOSTIME008 includes four new cuts which can best be defined as 'Romanian' style in essence. In fact Raresh from a:rpia:r and Livio & Roby from Premiesku are early supporters.

The title track kicks things off with rolling percussion with more than a hint of latino attitude. Dubby stabs and detroit style chords soon join the party and intricate changes in the drum programming keep subtly lifting the track throughout. 'Changed' opts for a totally different tact, opening with lush, dreamy pads which evolve alongside rolling snare patterns and bass grooves to reveal a heavily harmonised spoken word vocal.

On The flip side, 'Drum Engine' opens with feint, delayed vocal stabs which are joined by celestial, swirling pads, before being abruptly stripped away to reveal a menacing growling bass Finally, 'Titled', takes thing in a more minimal direction with airy pads and acid bleeps panning around the mix, showing off Tuccillo's immense production talent.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa or simply the Tower of Pisa (Torre di Pisa) is the campanile, or freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa, known worldwide for its unintended tilt. The tower's tilt began during construction, caused by an inadequate foundation on ground too soft on one side to properly support the structure's weight. The tilt increased in the decades before the structure was completed, and gradually increased until the structure was stabilized (and the tilt partially corrected) by efforts in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Ricardo Villalobos delivers his 2nd remix for the label (2 of 5 !) which he's worked up, alongside studio partner Frank Greiner, into a confoundingly brilliant reworking of Eighties Throwback. Taking Freaks' original and already twisted sounds and vocals and twisting them up even further into another 14 minute (in it's edited form) piece of musical genius. Free of compromise and thus fitting the MFF ethos perfectly, the track is a wonderful example of Villalobos wildly experimental dexterity. This is for all those dedicated to their turntable and the love of an awe inspiring journey into sonics and beats. On the flip side you'll find a record from the other side of the house planet... Boston disco inspired, Soul Clap rework Diz Washington's vocals on the wonderful Washing Machine to funk them up to within an inch of their beautifully original understated life. Fresh from working with P-Funk orginator, George Clinton, their Washing Machine remix is a crisp, futuristic and downright freaky funkathon which will undoubtedly resonate at clubs and after parties for many moons. And last but not least, an original track from Freaks - originally a remix, Justin and Luke recorded back in the 90's which never saw the light of day, they removed any references, renamed it Robotic Movement and released it on their album The Beat Diaries. Here they've re-mastered the original for vinyl (never having been available before on wax) and are very happy to be able to press up one of the tracks they've been most proud of throughout the musical history of Freaks and Music For Freaks.

With this new release Best Works Records presents a new multi-talented dj and producer from Georgia, Gacha Bakradze. This 4 track EP is not the typical club record but a mind stimulating piece of music. It opens with « Drift », a track where rhythm and beats are melting down in a pot full of warm flowing soundscapes, then goes into more hypnotic lead sounds with the second track « Golshifteh ».

Necessary first vinyl edition of Hollywood Medieval, the debut album of psychogeographic dramaturgy by Manchester-born soundtrack composer, Maxwell Sterling. It was initially issued
as a digital release on LA-based Memory No.36 Recordings in 2016 to a round of acclaim from Fact Magazine and The Wire and has now been re-mastered by Matt Colton for this vinyl edition.
It sounds as plasticky sensuous as it should, and arguably looks worthy of a wall or pedestal in a Bel-Air or Moss Side pad thanks to its striking bespoke cover art collage by radical feminist and
Manchester punk legend, Linder (Sterling), aka Maxwell's mum.
Hollywood Medieval is an album about the glaring disparities and elaborate, underlying convolutions the composer observed and felt while working as a nanny for wealthy parents during his film composition studies at UCLA in the early part of the 2010s. Using an augmented palette of classic DX7 and Juno 60 synths along with a severely warped bank of library samples and iPhone recordings, it spells out a queasily evocative simulacra of the city in flux, animating a sort of Ballardian tableaux that's hyper-descriptive in its rendering of the hazy, dosed-up, and often
delirious transitions between Hollywood's glamour and grime, using LA's gurning facades and ostentatious wealth as prompts for a richly visual side of sawn-off emotive signposts and jazz-
taut turns of phrase that vividly etch on the memory in neon freehand.
From the dizzying sugar rush of the opening sequence, Hollywood Medieval I, to its spiralling counterpoint in Hollywood Medieval II, the album is an inception-like concerto, with Maxwell smartly subverting the film score composer's role by placing the music centre stage and allowing the narration to be carried by virtuosic flourishes owing to the artist's classical and jazz music

In a sense, Hollywood Medieval resonates with the way Sam Kidel subverted the nature of ambient music on Disruptive Muzak (RAVE014), and offers an alternative, lucid view of the hazy LA offered by Delroy Edwards' Teenage Tapes (RAVE005), and likewise, works like a present diagnosis of the dystopian future worlds dreamed up in The Sprawl's dystopian, widescreen visions on EP1
(RAVE013), effectively broadening and illuminating The Death of Rave's own sonic hauntology.

NSDOS is back with some new toys from outer space - on this EP we hear six figments of his twisted imagination, caught live ....
On this very dense and captivating EP, Kirikoo Des goes back to the 90's with some cut up electronica flair ("Christine +2", "Dona J Haraway") reminiscing Oval's work or some experimental Shake Shakir tunes. The longest tracks though feels closer to a club from the future with some eerie pads ("Fa") and liquid rhythms patterns typical of the NSDOS touch we love ("Yuko"). Overall this EP is a much cerebral effort and yet still keeps a vibrant and gorgeous organic side to it. Demanding the full attention of the listener, the reward in the end is a total bliss taking us in a deep dimension. "Space is the place" as the master Sun Ra once said!

EMILE STRUNZ's track, 'Bubastis,' named after the ancient city of the cat goddess Bast, will lure you into a sweaty, Egyptian-tinged hypnosis.
