House Vinyl New Releases - News

With high profile releases on Black Butter and MTA Records to their name, Bristol-based duo and bass music trendsetters My Nu Leng are on the ride of their life. Huge remixes for Naughty Boy's UK No.1 'La La La', Rudimental's 'Right Here' and Clean Bandit's 'Mozart's House' have led the duo around the world, showcasing their inimitable hybrid sound to their ever increasing fan base.

Impossible to pigeonhole, Tommy and Jammo, aka My Nu Leng, have stunned critics and fans alike with their diverse and rich output ever since bursting onto the scene. Conscious of their roots in UK bass culture, their re-imagined sound has taken the underground community by storm, as have their energetic and deliberately dark sets. With a sound that offers an insight into grime, dubstep, drum & bass and garage, it is clear that My Nu Leng are firmly rooted in the rich musical heritage of their adopted hometown. The duo's forward-thinking smash record 'Masterplan,' was released on trendsetting label Black Butter in 2014 and served as their breakthrough, taking the airwaves by storm and launching the duo into the public consciousness. Now they bring their diverse, incendiary sound to the FABRICLIVE series.

In the electronica circuit, DJ and producer Pawas Gupta needs no introduction. His music resonates his journey back from his early days as a DJ in India to turning independent producer in Germany. From his classical roots in tabla and percussion to his deep, Detroit influence in deeper house, techno and minimal, Pawas has carved his niche. He released on Spectral Sound, Night Drive music, Mood Music and Brut! - just to name a few. Current releases and remixes on Tulipa, PNN, EevoNext and Techfui*.

HOLIC Trax was founded in 2012 by Berlin based DJ/Producer Tomoki Tamura and now serves up its 15th release from none other than Detroit music making machine Rick Wade of Harmonie Park and Moods & Grooves association. TBA shortly.

For this year's Record Store Day, the Monkeys offer you a set of tunes released on Monkeytown Records in 2014, however freshly remixed by other Monkeytown artists in 2015:
Alex Banks remixes the brand new Robot Koch track "Let Me", off his Monkeytown debut EP "TSUKI".
On the flip, you'll find an Anstam edit of a Dark Sky track taken from their debut full length "imagin". And last but surely not least Gajek remixes a collaborative effort from Mouse On Mars & Tyondai Braxton - "Off Sea" was released as part of MoM's 21st anniversary compilation featuring collaborations with their
friends, heroes and musical partners in crime.

Jef K's Silver Network springs a surprise on the label's followers with a slightly darker offering than fans may be used to. Part of Jef's ethos is to shake things every once in a while to avoid becoming stale, so he decided to sign this super fresh cut from Ludovic Vendi and Olive_R. 'Nosh' is a fidgety, morose production with unsettling beats and the constant mutter of voices lurking in the background.
Remix pressure comes from Jef's good friend, and owner of the excellent La Vie En Rose label, Terence :Terry: who, together with Spanish wonderkid Hanfry Martinez (Overall Music), drops a bouncing bomb of a track. Meanwhile, Yoshitaca, Japanese producer and boss of amazing label Fasten Musique Concrete, also turns in a dynamite rework full of flavour.
So we have three splendid versions of a track that serves as a perfect example of Silver Network's ability to push its own boundaries. Deep, dark and utterly delectable.

Straight from the berlin pioneer of house Alex Agore, comes his new track 'The Prayer' remixed by the Uncle of house James Johnston. We have already been introduced to Alex's eclectic group of productions, his many signings with past or respected House labels like: Wilson Records, 4Lux, Defected, Washerman's DeepDownSlam and Kolour Recordings.

Alex and James also own together 'No Matter What Records' a vinyl label full of quality and soul. These two together create a vision of sound for the future and soul thats a blast from the past, together they bring you the crème de la crème of house music. Welcome to the sound of Axe On Wax

AEON009 is expertly crafted by AEON label boss and veritable wunderkind of the multi-faceted anologue electronic, German DJ and producer Alex Niggemann.
As a firm believer that a collection of music should unravel and develop like the plot of a good book, this EP is an apt offering from the German maestro, who has recently seen (and is still seeing) underground chart success with his release 'Materium' on Poker Flat, as the likes of Sven Vath, Tale of Us and Mano le Tough continue to drop it to revering masses across the globe.
Following successful releases on Poker Flat, Compost Black Label and Last Night On Earth to name a few, 'Abaton' carries on his chameleonic success.
The title track highlights Niggemann's affinity with texture and genre- defying sound, as he mixes ethereal chords with stark ashen synths for a truly goose bump-inducing musical experience. First on remix duty is the outfit Quantum Entanglement, comprised of Lee Jones and Fink, who provide a somewhat mellow interpretation, leading into a satisfying deeper progression.
Irish producer Chymera evokes an eery landscape with his rework of the track, with the tentative sound of synths juxtaposed with murkier sonic trails and a tiptoeing bassline. Niggemann rounds off the EP with 'Tripping Minds' - a maze of rhythmic curlicues that dance around melancholic pads and descend over a bassline that truly packs a punch, causing the listener to yearn for a dancefloor, or reminisce on a past moment of musical clarity that can only come from the most prolific of music.
This collection of intelligent, almost lugubrious sonic expression is a fitting display of how far Alex Niggemann, and indeed his AEON label have come; catapulting you into a darker, more aggressive and impressive world of musical capability

Gphone house buyer & resident DJ at Queen! (Smart Bar) w/releases on Balance, Stripped & Chewed, & Discovery, steps out w/a clear example of what's happening in the compemporary Chicago house scene.

Chicago's Smart Bar launches it's long-rumored imprint w/SB resident Ike Release. Dreamy Chicago deep house f/his own brand of percussive hypnotic grooves, & relentless passionate, hooks.

Don't forget to go home contains the rhythmic personality of Lucianno Villarreal and Sombro, two faces of the same coin.
On one side we have Villarreal sense of swing and musical mischief, soulful vocals and ghetto beatz, on the other we have a dancefloor horiented "Move back"from Sombro and the more classy "time to jack" reveals the true nature of this records, make your body move to the groove and not letting you go back to normal life outside the club.

Lukas Simmer is a prestigious name on the underground house/techno scene, making his debut here on Wrong State Recordings with a strong four track EP that marks him out as one to watch. With a background as a sound technician and musician, he has a solid grounding in the world of composing and producing music - which is clear to hear in this debut.

The title track sets the tone with a vibe that somehow manages to feel languid and insistent at the same time. Chattering snares punctuate the undulating, dubby bass, sharp hi-hats cutting away at the brooding undercurrents. Haunting pianos slowly come into focus, providing an emotive counterbalance to the track's mechanical, artificial backbone, with subtle shakers brought into the mix later on to add some gentle energy. Heady FX throughout the journey provide the icing on the cake.

Secret Marriage works with a similar balance of textures, getting into its swing via triple kick drum patterns, miraculously low sub bass and widely panned slivers of piano loops which create a pulsing, hypnotic atmosphere. A dizzying breakdown full of whirring sounds and textures gives brief respite, before old skool snare patterns drop into to add another layer of intensity. It's techno at its deepest and most cerebral.

Front Row serves up a supremely funky bassline groove that threatens to erupt into an acidic frenzy in brief, teasing moments, with sustained pad textures bringing an element of tension to the proceedings. An infectiously swung percussion section gets your head nodding, while warped FM synth trickery massages your synapses. Dizzying breaks only heighten the impact of that b-line funk when it drops back in. There's definitely a classic tech house undertone to this one.

No One Knows rounds off the package, a lively beat with plenty of pep urging along another looping, wiggling bassline while mysterious sounds float around the periphery. Constantly evolving percussion keeps the intrigue flowing, while the near-ambient breakdowns work a treat in contrast with the jacking feel of the main sections.

incl great remix by sian !!

Following on from his debut album last year, Sleep. Medlar follows up with extended 12" versions of Tides, the stand out track from the album and Tap Spring.

Boston crate digger Kon is on remix duty who turns out a straight up house version of Tides. While WOLF Music resident Greymatter takes on album track Listen, turning the jazz shuflling house track into a rumbling big room rework .

'I'd been thinking about starting a label for a few years but it never really seemed like it could work.

Nowadays there's more coherence in my productions it seems like the right time. I'll be releasing music from other artists as well my own stuff - underground house, techno and the rest, stuff with darkness and sexiness.

Hopefully it's music that will speak to (somebody's) heart as well as their feet. The first release is called No Splice No Playback and it's two tracks of house music.

Vinny (Flamingo) is a basement thing, Suckle (Twenties) works in warehouses too. Thanks for reading.

For our second vinyl release of the summer, we see SLF and JAG (a.k.a Stephane Lefrancois and Jameson Gilvarry) team up with Lexy Panterra on "No Regrets".
The original mix is a beautiful, balearic, uplifting jewel. Lexy's pristine and evocative vocals ride over a bouncy, smooth backing track with plenty of dynamics and musical ear candy. This is a new school take on the classic love song, perfect for sunrises and sunsets. A dance floor filler with soul !
Simon Baker is on remixing duties, as BKR Projekt. He gives the song a complete techno twist, with a relentless, hypnotic groove. The distorted drums give it a driving, warehouse vibe, while the loopy layers of dubbed out vocals creep in, ghostly and haunting. This one is for the big rooms !

Somewhere is rhythmic/vocal house written about Cirrus (Goa). "Banana Girl" is funky deep house with Deep Toddler. On B2 Tom Gillieron warps "Banana Girl" into a techno anthem.

In 1997 the Vienna, Austria based live act Syncmode was founded and formed by Bernd Rausch & Sascha Sadat Guscheh. Their first 2 EPs were self released between 2001-2003 and continue to play an important role in their reclusive production ethic. They continue collaborations with a close knit operation between 24seven and Breakin Stevens, which has directly triggered them to surpass the common duo and develop into a collective of changing members, which include the latest fixed members Christof Winkler and Sonny Blake. This EP is stripped down to a mix of live synthesis and heady synth-sync and machine drum trickery as it touches on past and future electronic music production techniques and solidifies these four tracks on a solid 12 Vinyl. Very Rare and limited! Due-Out-In-Summer-2015!

Originally released on Dance Mania, "I Dream You" is an absolute Chicago House classic. It is one of the deepest and smoothest releases the label put out in their early days, and it totally captures Vincent Floyd's signature sound.

Ben Cohen's 'Voyage to Rahoz' is dappled with esoteric references invoking the hazy contours of the ever mystical inner zones. It delves gracefully into these realms with the opener 'Momentum', which gives way to the mind-expanding workout that is 'Acid Dreams', a proper luscious piece. On the B-side, 'Play with Humanity' is built around elastic percussive elements and an enigmatic looped-voice. The final cut is an adroit, if not buoyant, rework by the Moscow's top producer Anton Zap.

Gui Boratto is truly that success story that aspiring dance producers dream of. From his Brazilian home of São Paolo as a student of architecture and design, he quickly found himself in the position as one of the countries primary pop/rock producers (including work for Steel Pulse). It was with his 2005 debut Kompakt release on the K2 sub-label Arquipélago that shot him into prominence and paved a strong path of singles that led to the now classic full length Chromophobia. The lead singles Mr. Decay and Beautiful Life remain two of the most unforgettable tracks in Kompakt history - the latter official video with well over a million views on YouTube.

It's been an unusual while since the elusive unit had a new record out, but after an extensive row of live shows and remixes, Skudge surface once again with a double tracker containing some of their deepest joints yet.
