The Sccucci Manucci label has done a fine job of handpicking artists on the rise for their releases to date, collaring the likes of Casino Times, Francis Inferno Orchestra and Toomydisco as well as the odd established name like Jacques Renault. The label's fourth release Forza Quattro is still grounded in the disco/house sensibility that has served them so well, though the presence of Waze & Oddysey demonstrates the Sccucci A & R team are willing to deviate. The elusive US pair are in the midst of a hot patch right now with releases already burning on Body Work and Southern Fried and plenty more due over the coming months, so their presence here is a real coup. "I Can't Hear You" sounds vaguely like a extra bouncy cover of the classic "RIP Groove" and definitely ranks alongside their output to date. Alongside this the white vinyl EP has tempo traversing contributions from Fil Lavin, Sellouts and Deadly Sins, with the latter's slow and chuggy "Don't You Know" a particular highlight.

ollowing their recent track on Redux's Pick & Mix Vol. 1, the disco legend that is Pete Herbert and Melbourne's Golden Fleece further cement their collaboration with this full EP on Space Walker Records. "Ivory Waves" is a 90s influenced cut of uplifting piano-driven Balearic house, complete with lush cosmic flourishes, whilst "The Bells Of Hackney" is a more low-slung, but no less powerful production. Initially combining a snaking live bassline and spaced-out arpeggios, the track builds to a crescendo as heavily flanged piano and tights guitar licks come into play. The B-Side meanwhile serves up two remixes of "Ivory Waves"; Lithuania's Downtown Party Network recompose it as an even more-good time anthem (if such a thing is possible) with their trademark melodic charm, while Slovenia's Sare Havlicek takes the track into deeper territory bringing the thick bassline teasing the melody with dubbed out stabs, slowly bringing the huge piano line in before dropping it with force, taking the anthem potential of the original and running with it.

The final single from the self-titled Holy Ghost! LP before Alex & Nick return to the studio, commencing work on LP2. The b-side features an amazingly retro extended 12" remix by Dimitri From Paris. Limited to 300 stamped white label copies.

Needwant get set to welcome you to the world of Parisian super duo, The Mekanism, with a debut EP that will make you fall in love with their spin on disco infused house music. Effortlessly smooth and divinely deep, they capture an advanced and modern sound that will blow you away. The EP features three original tracks plus a remix from Needwant favourite, Mario Basanov who continues to gain notoriety as both an individual artists and within his Mario & Vidis project.

Title track 'Can't Believe' oozes with a funky yet deep groove and rhythm. The empowering melody and warm keys captivate the mind, as the murky vocal takes us deep. Lithuanian producer Mario Basanov steps in for remix duty, with a housier, deeper dance floor spin on the original 'Can't Believe'. Grumbling stabs and rounded melodic keys drive this remix with impressive results.

Next up 'Missing Love' is highly infectious with its forceful bass, fluid warm keys, steady claps and captivating, deep vocal, which will engulf the dance floor. 'Your Shade' is the third of the original tracks on offer from the talented duo. Using their own vocal for a French twist, they prove their artistic worth for this smooth deep cut.

It's a fine debut from a French paring that only met in the summer of 2011. But their combined rich musical history has produced another EP of solid original material for the Needwant camp that treads the line between electronic house and disco music.

Davide Armour & Philippe Mascerano are cousins, separated by the hemispheres, but joined together by their love of vintage synthesizer's, tacky Italian nightclubs and San Remo tinged pop.

At first, we almost could not believe it, when our buddy Max Krefeld told
us that he was involved in a production of a track with Ari Up from The
Slits. We had always been big fans of The Slits and of the entire time
period, when Dub Reggae and Punk Rock inspired each other. So, we were
super eager to hear the track and the result gave us a shiver: A modern
dancehall-infused track with a crisp production of Ari's distinctive vocal
performance.

Fool, the 'tongue in cheek' self-ironic entitled third album, is another tour de force in Kasper Bjørke's signature production style - this time wrapped up as a concept album to be released on Fool's day April 1, 2012 on CD and vinyl. The versatile Copenhagen producer and DJ follows up on his successful sophomore solo album from 2010 'Standing on top of Utopia' that reached high acclaim from the international press and indie blogosphere.

Rubini's new production is dedicated to the legendary Group-B rally era (1982-1986), universally considered as the most spectacular moment of the motoring sports history. Rubini succesfully transfers those dramatic and thrilling scenario in a disco/tech language. Le Cahier de Occelli is an intimate ambient journey, drawing the mystic landscapes of those dirty roads. Easyleft Henri is dedicated to the amazing pilot Henri Toivonen, whom incredible skills inspired this energetic disco/house drive, with steering bass-line and a whirling vintage synths. The NYC edit master Kon (from Kon & Amir) has, after a bunch of hyped reworks on Hands Of Time, BBE and On Track delivered Basic Fingers a 12" with two killer disco reworks.
We start with Windy City "Chicago", a fierce disco edit that Kon twisted just the right way! Its playful and soulful disco at its very best.
But the highlight of the release is possibly hidden on the flip. Here we get a +10 min uplifting disco rework of Sylvesters high energy hit "Mighty Real" which now sounds way fresher (and better) than the original if you ask us. Zimmer's music is a feel good, body-warming and enthusiastic wave that goes straight to the heart and stays until the end of the night. Growing up between France and California, this young producer is a smooth combination of both worlds: west coast carefree attitude with a twist of Parisian chic.
Blending 70s Disco, 80s Funk and 90s House, his influences range from George Benson to Crystal Waters. His favorite contemporary producers include Aeroplane, Moullinex and Azari & III.
When not producing, he also DJs in low-ceiling clubs and fancy parties, making sure the crowd always has a good time. He cultivates the art of mixing à la Larry Levan, playing from 100 to 125 bpm.

Tom Noble with a reprise 12'' of his great Dancing Hard track taken from the Liger Vision debut ep. Mr. Noble is recognized as one of the worlds top diggers when it comes to disco and rare funk.

Limited edition double header of superb early 80s disco funk classics from Trinidadian singer Jimmy Ross. Originally released on renowned Canadian label Quality Records with musical production handled by Italian super-producers Stefano Pulga and Luciano Ninzatti, also known as Kano, both cuts were given a New York spin in the extended remixes featured here. Paradise Garage legend Larry Levan took over the helm for 'First True Love Affair' creating a swirling heavy hypnotic dancefloor bomb. Unbelievably sexy and insanely funky, this rocks the floor every time. On the flip is the long version of 'Fall into A Trance' remixed amongst others by Turntable Orchestra's Hippie Torrales who at the time was resident DJ at New Jersey's infamous Zanzibar club. Also 100% tuned to the dancefloor, this showcases Mr Ross's raw soulful vocals perfectly with a sleazy low-slung grinding funk backdrop. Sadly Jimmy Ross only produced a handful of singles during his career but thankfully among them were a couple of the best disco tracks ever made. Essential!

Superb double-headed original Sam Records reissue featuring two in-demand rarities from 80s Italo outfit K.I.D., a studio group put together by top disco producer Geoff Bastow. Best known for helping Giorgio Moroder create his seminal electronic dance sound, Bastow has pulled out all the stops for his pet project - 'Don't Stop' on side A is a classic disco corker with seriously funky synths and a high-voltage New York style vocal while on the flip is the ultra-rare underground dance bomb Hupendi Muziki Wangu. The title translates into English as 'You don't like my music', hugely ironic considering the quality of this super-catchy disco instrumental - a showcase for electric keyboards and endless guitar, highlighted by a sinewy percussive groove, bouncy horns and mesmerising strings. Don't sleep!

Sonic Underground compiles remixes by the CCC family of up-and-coming indie artists - four floor-ready, mutant hybrids of rock, pop, disco and deep house. Belgian firebrand Mugwump's rework of CCC's own Acid Snow transforms the acid/no-wave original into a disco-house monster that's earned accolades from the likes of Ewan Pearson and Magda. Ivan Smagghe calls the remix "a no-nonsense record. While some look for experimental arty-ness, some for the big hit, all of this pretending to be 'underground', Mugwump pull out of their sleeves what is properly hard to achieve, a cool big track." In a similar way, the rest of Sonic Underground explores new combinations of arty edginess and mass appeal. Mack Winston & The Reflections see their swaggering glam-rock transformed by CCC into a deep back-room sex jam that's getting support from the Wolf + Lamb crew and is featured on Soul Clap's compilation CD for Mixmag in February. The flipside highlights remixes by CCC's own Night Plane: with its atmospheric guitar and emo vocals, his take on Presssures sounds like if The Cure ever showed up on Crosstown Rebels, and his re-design of fellow New Yorker Baby Alpaca is a dreamy k-hole lullaby, with blissed-out melodies that make it an after-hours snuggle classic.

Following the stunning album that (finally) surfaced on Tirk Records last year, seventeen-piece live disco band Escort arrive on sister label Nang via Red Music by popular demand with two of the most prevalent cuts from the album, Caméleon Chameleon & Starlight, remixed by Anglo-Japanese powerhouse Max Essa, and Red Records label boss and Ilija Rudman.

Illija's cut of Caméleon Chameleon is as funky as they come, enveloping strains of the originalin his silken synth work and driving dance-floor percussion. Edits of Adeline Michèle's vocal hook are teased in throughout; beautifully done but never deriving from the fact that this is strict dancefloor stuff.

Next up, Max Essa delivers a stomping rendition of long time favourite, Starlight. His cut stays true to the original, retaining vibe, funk and feeling, but giving it that subtle injection of House that's just made for peak time at the dance.

every turn on this 5 track 12" shows something different from the band. album track 'how small we are' shows their signature atmospheric sound, pushed further with african percussion, multiple choirs and heavier synths. then there's 'mysterons' - their take on the opening track from portishead's 'dummy' album. it's almost unrecognizable, reconstructing it into a synth-ed out new wave party jam. there's two heavyweight mixes as well from shangaan electro and the mighty Moodymann.

Nozinja and nurse Matlala of South Africa's shangann electro scene took pollyn's catchy, all-about-the-bassline track 'how small we are' and made it even more thrilling by adding new vocals and doubling its length.

Finally the cherry on the cake is the Moodymann remix of Sometimes You Just Know'.
Some say this is one of his finest mixes in years and we have to agree, keeping the song intact he adds some of his drum know-how and detroit funk to turn the original into a total dancefloor destroyer
