Reinhard Voigt returns to his own label KOMPAKT with another episode of satiric techno to enlighten today’s current trend of deadpan dance music. Since the 1990’s, Reinhard has brought an unparalleled spirit into the techno scene through outrageously energetic live shows and the many releases under alias such as SRI, Pentax plus of course his ongoing collaboration Voigt & Voigt together with esteemed brother, Wolfgang Voigt. Reinhard embraces all that wildlife has to offer with “Was wir spüren”. Starting things off with the future afterparty anthem, “Das singende, klingende Ding” the bass drum is there to guide the lost and found through a voracious bee storm as the rooster crows gloriously towards duck quacking oblivion. “Tausendmal zu viel” fits perfectly as the soundtrack for to the artwork created by Mareena von Cube – a tormented hymn loops its way to the warriors of the never world. “Der Mann, der nie nach Deutz kam” is classic Reinhard Voigt techno at peak-time point. A throttling bass drum is voraciously fuelled by the jungle twilight.

Voltage Festival is releasing a compilation of 4 EP's to celebrate five years of existence. The EP's are dedicated to four sub-genres of techno and represent the versatility in techno of Voltage Festival's line-up.

The series starts off with a classic techno EP called ‘Zener Diode’, followed by a deep techno one called ‘Wiring Harness’, an industrial release with the name ‘Circuit Breaker’ and closing with acid techno called ‘Resistor’. The artists featured on the releases already made their appearance at Voltage Festival, or are playing on this year’s edition.

Dez Williams is a DJ/producer based in North Wales (UK), who has been creating electronic dance music since his early teens when his parents bought him a Commodore Amiga 500 computer. Dez soon began experimenting with sampling and 'soundtracker' programs, and a couple of years later purchased his first pair of turntables (on which he spent many hours practising in order to achieve his 'textbook' mixing skills!).

Making his debut release on one of electronic music’s most vital labels, Michigan’s Disruptive Pattern Material emerges with ‘Necessary’, a Detroit indebted jam backed with remixes from some of the Motor City’s most influential names.

Leading the A-side, the original mix of ‘Necessary’ loops a vocal chop at its core, weaving airy synths and bubbling, dubbed-out bass effortlessly throughout the track. DJ Bone’s remix sees the Subject Detroit and Encounter boss draw hidden textures from the original, adding fresh synth works atop the pitched-up vocals for a distinctly Detroit jam.

On the flip, Intangible Records & Soundworks’ Terrence Parker introduces skipping drums under a hands-in-air piano loop, effortlessly flipping the track into a bonafide party starter. Taking the B2 spot,UR affiliates Scan 7 blend rave stabs, 909 kicks, and rubbery bass for a remix of digital-only bonus track Freedom.

Group, is a formation with anonymous components, nobody knows who they are, hence their songs have names of sequences, they do not even want to give clues about it. Group debuts on Fill-Lex records with a conceptual album, fleeing from his facet more focused on the track. Repetitive and ethereal melodies, with infinite loops and mixed with broken, industrial rhythms and millimetrically calculated percussions, that will make your mind fly throughout 40 minutes.

Valentina Magaletti (Tomaga, Vanishing Twin, et al ) & Marlene Ribeiro (Gnod, Negra Blanca) came together during a residency at Porto's Hysteria in 2019, leading a week of workshops where participants improvised with bass drum, snare, gong, horns, strings, oil drum lid, chalumeau, waterphone, kalimba, noise boxes, wah tubes, bowed ceramics, handmade instruments, various electronics, vibraphone, piano, washing machine, and objects collected from the streets of Porto. DUE MATTE stitches lo-fi phone recordings from the workshops into a potent, bewitching, and disorienting assemblage that will appeal to head-nodders and chin-strokers alike.

Veteran Japanese producer Shigeru Ishihara (aka DJ Scotch Egg) has been assembling serrated, genre-busting ear bleeders for almost two decades, and arrives to the Hakuna Kulala stable with a crucial new project: Scotch Rolex, named after the popular Ugandan street food. On "Tewari" the Berlin-based noisemaker melts his breakcore, gabber and chiptune background into a fresh palette of influences, with help from collaborators MC Yallah, DUMA's Lord Spikeheart, Swordman Kitala, Chrisman and Don Zilla. The record was assembled after Ishihara was invited to Uganda for a residency at the Nyege Nyege Villa in 2019. Exposed to Hakuna Kulala's family of artists, the producer began experimenting, twisting trap and dancehall rhythms with 8-bit immediacy and the ragged energy of grindcore. Somehow he has managed to distill the essence of Nyege Nyege's scene-shaping yearly festival, where global dance and experimental forms come together under a banner of East African musical experimentation and physicality. Ishihara is no stranger to collaboration; in recent years he's been spotted working with King Midas Sound's Kiki Hitomi in dub-pop outfit WaqWaq Kingdom and playing bass with electro-shoegaze pioneers Seefeel. But Scotch Rolex is his most ambitious project to date, jumping seamlessly from slithering doom trap ('Omuzira') to anxious hyper-fast electro death metal ('SNIPER') to breathless Ugandan club ('Afro Samurai') and beyond without stopping for breath. Whether crafting rhythms for MC Yallah's tongue-twisting rhymes, Lord Spikeheart's hoarse, guttural screams or Swordman Kitala's familiar sing-along chants, Ishihara feels completely at home with his collaborators and celebrates their presence. "Scotch Rolex & Co." is a loveletter to Hakuna Kulala from one of experimental dance music's true originals, it's a joyful rumination on the fluidity and versatility of electronic music that manages eclecticism without ever sacrificing coherence.

'Interlinked' is the fifth release on Emile Facey's new imprint, however the title track was originally written just after the UK's EU referendum in 2016. Having forged many strong musical ties with other European countries over many years, the UK's vote to leave the EU left him feeling disconnected and saddened. Now that the UK has left the EU and musicians try to navigate the impact on electronic music, a culture that thrives on being completely 'interlinked' he felt it was time to release this track that expresses that sadness but also conveys some hope for a future in which music can connect us all again. The B side starts with the driving urgency of 'Ancient Voice', future electro designed to move dance floors when they return. Closing track 'The Silent Flock' is a slower, more contemplative expression of discovery and hope.

Heralding the arrival of spring and the especially pertinent theme of rejuvenation, Spazio Disponibile announces their first physical compilation release, Primavera. Tilted towards the more introspective dimensions of the Spazio sound, label founders Donato Dozzy and Neel began piecing together this record with their own meditative reflections on the idea of rebirth before inviting two close friends and like-minded souls to contribute tracks of their own. AtomTM, aka Uwe Schmidt, creates a dense, detailed eerie rhythm flow, while Grand River slowly guides an emotionally-charged arpeggio to a crescendo. Matched with Neel and Dozzy's own patient rhythms and spacious arrangements, it's a fitting collection to calmly embrace a new day after an extended period of hibernation.

DJ Nobu is back with the next installment of his Extra Tools series on Bitta. In Nobu's own words: "In the time when I have much less opportunities to play dance tracks as a DJ, I imagined the dance floor of the post-pandemic future, which I know will be filled with positive vibes. This 4-track EP consists of variety of tracks that can be played in different phases of a DJ set. I chose to make straightforward dance floor oriented tracks, because I wanted to encourage listeners and DJs not to forget about the fun we have on the dance floor. I wanted to convey my hope to those who are not yet able to restart the parties." Opening track 'Entering' is a trippy psychedelic track for those deep outdoor hours when the snares echo throughout the mountains, 'Resemblance' is an acid tinged breakbeat that resonates with industrial and electro style. On the flip 'Desire' is a hypnotic peak-time techno track that will function well in any environment, and 'Fade' is an atmospheric and pleasant morning breakbeat tune. A rare treat for Drumcode faithful: A-Sides Vol.10 is set to drop in December, the second edition of the beloved series to come in 2020.

Fuelled by the extra time and space to be creative during lockdown, Drumcode’s collective of artists have stepped up. Across 17 contributions, the producers have gone deeper into their sonic repertoire, crafting powerful, yet reflective works that capture the range of the label’s sound.

Jay Lumen leads the way with a rousing riff-driven weapon, ‘Galactic Rainbow’, while Ramon Tapia brings us the muscular gem ‘Drum Control’, mixing up ruffneck techno with a barrage of synapse-tickling synths in the second half. Both rousing highlights of the compilation.

Victor Ruiz, Drumcode’s most prolific contributor in 2020, dishes up ‘Love Story’, led by a huge vocal lead. Zimmz also returns with ‘Tension’, which deftly combines deep squelchy grooves with a silky synth interlude. Thomas Hoffknecht follows up his debut on Vol.9 with ‘Escape’, keeping listeners on their toes with dynamic, choppy shifts throughout. Long-time DC family member Bart Skils brings his A-game with the thrilling no-nonsense ‘Solid State’ that hits like a steam train. Likewise, Alan Fitzpatrick who brings a momentous slab of techno energy with ‘Rochus’, while Thomas Schumacher, now feeling like a regular on the imprint, crafts another dark techno opus, this time in collaboration with CAITLIN.

There’s even a special appearance by the chief Adam Beyer, who makes a welcome return with the progressive-tinged ‘Changes’, driven by organic tones and spacey atmospherics. The track stands as his first original contribution to A-Sides since 2017.

Anfisa Letyago hits the ground running with the ambient-infused, chest beating rhythm - 'Nisida'. Shackling percussion communicates fluently with rattling hi-hat patterns to create decadent layers of techno elegance. A carefully modulated synthesiser melody appears to chase the drum sequence throughout the arrangement's main body, circling gleefully around the stereo field like a shamanic ritual. Anfisa's own ethereal vocal shots glide through the mix to establish key moments of anticipation.

'Insidia' sensually evolves into a dazzling menagerie of rising pads and fizzing synth-lines. A rounded four-to-the-floor kick drum drives the track with subtle yet consistent affirmation, the minimalistic approach to the groove's main elements only serves to bolster the arrangement as one can truly appreciate every layer. Anfisa boldly follows with 'Not There', a significantly gritty low-end carries a glimmering arpeggiator ensemble through the entirety of the EP's closing moments. The undeniable glow of the composition's melodic elements pairs perfectly with the staggering undertow of kicks and low-slung toms.

Anfisa comes armed and ready for the return of the dance, and after successful releases on Hotflush and Rekids, she has a lot of exciting new releases to deliver this year.

Drexciya might need an introduction for some, for others it is the most influential techno/electro project ever. Part of the heritage of Detroit's Underground Resistance, Drexciya explored techno music like no-one else before.
Raw and uncompromising music that reflects the harsh environment of the city where Drexciya was conceived. The aesthetics and the mythical approach combined with the unique music made this one of the biggest cult projects in techno music. Drexciya arguably stands for the darker side of techno and electro, music not only made for the club scene, but a further development of the music as an expression and extension of the mind. 20 years after the release of ''Deep Sea Dweller'' (their first release), and 10 years after ''Grava 4'' (their last), here's ''Journey Of The Deep Sea Dweller''. This series is an almost complete collection of their early works, and is remastered from the original master tapes. Since the original releases have such a strong character, appeal and stand on their own, this re-issue can never re-create the magic of those originals. So instead the catalogue is stirred up, taking the tracks out of their original context, giving the 'in the know' listener a fresh experience and the new listener a document that is the best possible introduction to the aquatic world of Drexciya.

Harvey McKay has been making waves in the techno world with releases on Drumcode, Cocoon, 8 Sided Dice, Soma and more. His most recent release for Drumcode is still sitting at number one whilst I write this and has been there for weeks! He has gained support across the globe as one of the hottest techno producers around which has seen him get lots of support from Adam Beyer on all of the most recent Drumcode Radio Live podcasts. As a DJ, Harvey has played some of the biggest clubs around the world and has an exceptional skill to read the crowd.

Harvey McKay has started his next single with his ethereal track 'Slip'. The ghostly pads that float over the top of a crisp, chuggy kick drum combine two different qualities before welcoming the percussive synth blips into the mix. The second track 'Silk Road' uses a killer vocal hook and heavy-duty synth stabs to full effect, conjuring up more of Harvey's unique style.

Objekt returns with Cocoon Crush, his first LP since 2014's Flatland. Pomassl's Seismik Krew gathers and expands more than 3 decades sonic search and processing. This double album follows the rhythmical side of Pomassl's work, inhering elements of the Skeleton series (est. 1996), heavy syncopated leftfiled, and always psychoactive chains of industrial techno. Consistanty keeping the world of sound brim filled in a masterly manner the narration consists of solo tracks, remixes and collaborations with the late Randy Barracuda, as well as DJ Sotofett and Alessandro Cortini.

Mutual fans Sherard Ingram and Mariska Neerman join forces to present four essential tracks spanning the breadth of contemporary electro on this second release from Bleep43 Recordings. The first side sees Ingram exploring the edges of his famously unique blend of intricate yet relentless electronics, simultaneously touching on Autechre's metallic abstractions while sounding the depths of bubbling oceanic vents. It has been a little over a year since the release of 747's debut album, in which the Canadian masterfully drew notes of inspiration from the 90s to create an enchanting hour-long dream. In his first EP since, 747 returns from a temporal leap, bringing with him a blend of sounds and expressions to forge a timeless trip which hinges on the sounds of the 303.

Opening the release, "you,you" unfolds with a gentle and shimmery padded ambiance of anticipation. Gentle and light-footed percussion is soon interrupted by a dramatic siren, a warning beacon. Frenetic energy ensues, a frantic rush to the floor met with a cloudy head. Encompassed in an envelope of disorienting wailing and intermittent buzzing, but finally grounded by the familiarity of a 4/4 bass drum.

"Does Anybody Remember Laughter?" steps in to relinquish the force of gravity. The animated arpeggio and gleaming singing acid line rise up, uncovering the kaleidoscopic nature of the structural surroundings.

"While My 303 Gently Weeps" divulges further, exposing an underlying grid of dark geometry - binary and robotic. The topology of surfaces becomes increasingly fractalized, until the solo overtakes with a somber sadness. The 303 notes guide the mind on a melancholic and meditative walk along the grand staff, met after the break with a sense of hope and serenity.

To close, "You Missed the Starting Gun" recounts the journey through a twisting mesh of thoughts: sorrow and actualization. A calming hypnotic presence is felt. Stability ensues - an afterglow.

Born in Brighton, bred in London and now moving between Berlin and Ibiza, BEC has an omnivorous approach to electronic music that shows up in her productions; Techno with a twist. Her seventh outing on home label Second State continues in this vein as she balances hypnotic, driving elements with atypical flourishes.
“Lost In Change”, which gives the EP its name, layers a pounding kick with a bloodless, repeated vocal before a juddering synth launches the track into another gear. “Flux” pairs a springy bass line with siren FX to pleasantly weird effect, followed by the more intense “State Of Flow”, a euphoric collision of ravey synths and gurgling acid lines. “Holocene”, meanwhile, hinges on an impatient groove textured with whipping 808s. It conjures the delicious abandon of parking your worries at the door as you give in to the primal pleasures of the dance floor.
BEC has been an international touring DJ for the past five years, playing everywhere from Berlin’s Watergate to Australia’s Rainbow Serpent Festival and from London’s Egg to Nevada’s Burning Man Festival. Lost In Change is sure to advance the ascent of one of Techno’s most promising young stars.

Mechatronica drops another forceful electro release, this time with a diverse collection of new and familiar faces in Kosh, OCB, Jauzas The Shining and Ersatz Olfolks.

The Moroccan Casa Voyager crew conducts the A-side in style, Kosh carefully manufacturing an expanding, fat and spacey electro drive while OCB laces old school electro flavours with breaks, acid and devastating groove.

On the flip, harder and darker electro sounds evolve as decade-long French electro producer Jauzas The Shining drops a potent electro/acid track in 'Machine', followed by the relentless energy of Stella - a murky, ever-intensifying journey through electro, breaks and industrial soundscapes by French producer Ersatz Olfolks.

Moddullar are the protagonists of the tenth release of their own label "INNSIGNN". They decided to release INNSIGNN's first 12", an EP with 4 tracks, including a Remix by Lewis Fautzi, one of the artists they most admire and that was always a reference to them.

It made sense to make him a part of this special release.

Um sie für die Menschen greifbar zu machen, nahm RDNK die passendsten Teile ihrer bisherigen Musik und fügte sie in einen neuen Sound ein. Das Ergebnis kann als Future Techno bezeichnet werden.

TRW “33”

Tommie Robin Wiese (1988 – 2020) was a composer and a producer from Rotterdam, Netherlands. He was a great guy, a nice man, a perfect friend.

From an early age, Tommie was engaged with spirituality, art and music. Throughout his life, he sought to deepen his knowledge and awareness. His music is a manifestation of his daily research of the musical, spiritual and human plane.

He was able to find beauty and meaning in any kind of music genre. Collaborating with different people on different projects, he touched upon various styles and genres such as rock/pop – playing a bass guitar in a rock band – as well as he was an avid listener of hip hop, house, techno, experimental electronic and ambient music.

In his own music, he found it difficult to choose one style to express himself through. Constantly thirsty for more and in search of perfection, he was looking for a way to consolidate his knowledge of life, music and spirituality into his music pieces.

Tommie had a passion for modular synthesizers which he loved to collect and experiment with and was continuously busy studying a topic or improving his skills on new instruments and gear. He’d be creating music all night till early morning which didn’t always make it easy for him to finish a track to his own satisfaction.
However, with his most recent productions, he started to get more in touch with himself and with what he wanted to express. He found that the depth and healing properties of music, especially hypnotic electronic music, deeply resonated with his soul.

As a person, Tommie was an excellent listener and could discuss any topic you could think of with an open mind, an ability that reflected on his approach to music too. One of his biggest artistic inspirations was the visual artist Alex Grey. What Grey did with painting, Tommie was trying to do in his life and music, showing us there is more than one layer in everything.

Sadly, Tommie left us very early and very unexpectedly in March 2020…

Thanks to his family and close friends, Mai Lei Bel is able to deliver Tommie’s posthumous EP titled “33” releasing under the moniker TRW (Tommie Robin Wiese).

Carceres Records, an emerging label in the French techno music scene since 2017, has finally decided to release its first vinyl. The two co-founders, Brulee and Deevai have invited Hephaistos and Sluhg for this release.Four video clips produced by Vladimir DMDJ will be part of this new project. The visuals will immerse us into the intimacy of the individual's relationship with himself, admiring his relationship with his body or perhaps testifying to his encounter with the other.

This time it's another content. I went to the curve on my bike. However, I can't take a decent shot because I found a long bee in the area making a nest in the nearby fence. ''What is it?'' I thought it was going to deadhead on the line in broad daylight but when I saw the car passing by the side, there was a customer riding, so I found out it was a Rapid Airport. However, I wonder why I have changed the direction to deadhead despite the passing of the passing station. Well, the conductor has a lot of business before the arrival. I like to observe actions that look irrational at first glance from the reason for business. There might also be a longing for the conductor. Next time you go here, what's going on with the hive?

Collecting orders for repress

Techno is getting harder again and Maximum Minimum 061 ups the game with 2 killer trax from Christ On A Bike (D.A.V.E.The Drummer and Tiago Santos), a track from label boss Chris Liberator with Geezer, The Dice and Mickey Rat, and a track from French duo Alienduch & Gelstat - all giant dancefloor tracks that will fit both Acid Techno and Techno sets.

“In a recent interview David Toop described the studio to be “a concept of the mind, a place where you can create other worlds”. The very same perceptual methodology appears be at the heart of the studio processes of Deep Nalström whose latest EP offers a sonic cornucopia overflowing with food for the mind perfect for the journey into outer space via your own inner space.

Opener ‘Low Gravity Ride’ sets you away atop a propulsive fizz of acid bubbles, lustrous synth wash and a lithe percussive groove. Listeners are pleasantly bumped at the mid-point by ‘Astral Variations’- a mid-tempo vacuum jacker reinforced with a fractalised p-funk bassline. A personal highlight is ‘Rainbow Gardens’ - akin to sitting in the exotic grounds of an alien temple in the midst of an afro-cosmic drum circle whilst being laced with extravagant strokes of emotive synth cream.

The tempo increases towards the end of the EP, a rush to oblivion that ends with ‘Underworld Jaunt’ – glorious arcs of arpeggio riding freely above a determined techno canter that gradually peels away as you reach your mind’s eye.

In turbulent times, it’s comforting to commune with the esoteric fantasies of Deep Nalström; richly detailed and beautifully described sonic renderings of a world conceived in his mind and reimagined in yours.”

The always-innovative John Beltran surprises us with his first release on a Romanian label. The circularity of Energy Circle, the beauty of The Cycles EP, sets a typically Beltran soundscape, a melodic mood for this three-pieced beauty. The Sun Also Rises on the flip side, making it the rather bright beast of the release, while the marching B2 – Going Uphill Fast (hope on the horizon) — is a granular techno classic, closing Eufonic Records' first release on a very Detroit note.

Pangaea returns to his Hessle Audio label for the first time since his debut LP 'In Drum Play', with two club tracks exploring different textures and designed for impact.

Wretched Cuts is the new solo EP by gender-nonconforming techno artist, Projekt Gestalten. The release comes via the New York’s Mild Fantasy imprint run by DJ Elle Dee and features three original themes focusing on introspective techno plus a remix by veteran, The Lady Machine.

The project reflects an array of themes using as the starting point the story of Estamira and the Brazilian documentary of the same name, telling her life story. Estamira was an incredibly enlightened older woman who scattered one of the largest landfills of Rio de Janeiro for food. Not because she had to, but because she loved that place as she loved “her own children” and enjoyed making a living out of other people’s disposable goods. Simultaneously, while dealing with schizophrenia and abuse, she believed she was a superior spiritual being whose magical powers could control time, space, and other elements of nature.

The tracks are inspired by some of her most memorable quotes and moments that made an impact on Projekt Gestalten. “Wise People In Reverse” goes into a darker approach and samples Estamira’s voice talking in a mysterious unknown language with an unrevealed force, using only a broken piece of a telephone that she had just found it in the trash. “Morte Macaca” takes a rhythmic approach towards dub techno, and “Holographic Principle” gets trippier and hallucinogenic with Projekt Gestalten’s signature acid lines. The Lady Machine’s “Wise People In Reverse” remix takes the original theme to a driving, peak hour approach and transforms it into an effective DJ tool.

UFC Records back with their second release with a four tracks Ep produced by label´s co-ower R.I.P. Bestia. The four tracks are original tracks produced between 2020 and 2021 years. Side A of this EP contains two tracks more oriented for the dance floor, like "Chordal Constellations" where the psychedelic electronic of the 90's is fused with the minimal sound of the first 2000's and "VCO Ray”, where vocoder vocals are mixed with deep techno lines.

On the other side the Ep opens with "Khae!”, psychedelic breakbeat-techno accompanied by ethereal vocals, to finish with "VCO HardCore Foundation", a piece of breakbeat influenced by the Nu Skool Breaks that ends in an acid and breaks explosion.

Following up to his debut mini-album “Antennen” issued last year on Noorden, fellow Cologne-based producer Panta Rex returns to the label with “Lefty”, his sophomore three-track delivery which finds him scoping out the confines between photophobic modular techno, subsheavy traction and AI-operated melodicism.

True to the intricate engineering of his first compositions, Panta Rex expands his sonic logos to even broader horizons of -altered- functionality. Most definitely a piece of club-oriented abstr-activism though offering vaster sequences and audio expanses to perambulate your mind within, “Lefty” is a mille-feuille of textural ambiguities, secret rooms and corridors – piecing together galloping dynamics with bleepy opaqueness as it leaves your mind out of focus all the way through to a steely, slo-burning yet highly choreographic finale.

Veering off to a more aqueous, dubby state of mind, B1 “Swerve” draws the loud, muffled kicks and FX-drenched synth stabs for a much immersive ride in the deep, shrouded in organic envelopes and overlapping layers of intriguing sonic minutiae. The title & concept of this release is simply an acknowledgement of a creative process in which going inwards can lead to the discovery of something unique.

We as people move alongside technological advancements & this has the power to ‘connect & isolate’. Our personal relationships with one another also take on new forms as our tools for communication change. This inspires creative action. The human response to modern devices can result in surreal and unfamiliar expressions. In terms of music, our instant access to information from the past & engrained intuitions lead us to revisit atavistic rhythms of the past & reinterpret them with new sensibilities. We create music from the ‘Now’ that traverses the ‘Past’ with sights set on the future!

Bonds created from this expression can withstand and even strengthen when inter-continental physical distance is imposed - forcing us to look inward to investigate the true depth of relationships forged out of creative expression. Rhythm has been used for millennia to locate the deepest parts of the soul & to re/connect spirits - this is true also in the modern age. Certain feelings cannot be expressed via digital text-communications nor with words alone; Music is the answer. Connection through disconnection.

The Artwork on the B-side of this record is a symbol of the individual, isolated & pinned down by the spindle, falling, spiralling, a metaphor for whatever turns you inward. The needle on the record emanates the rhythm”

Steven Rutter, one half of B12, returns to De:tuned with a staggering ode to the 90s UK bleep techno era. Opener "O.L.F. ResPekt" sets the bar with a respectful flashback to the trademark sound. "Rewind 273" follows the path with a pitched down composition that strengthens the rather mellow and floaty vibe. On the flip "Incredible" combines the best of both worlds, a real gem for all bleep and bass fiends in signature B12 style.

Kevin Foakes (Openmind, DJ Food, Ninja Tune) created all the graphic work. Mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis and pressed on 180 gr vinyl. A separate digital release will also be available at the usual digital shops. Stay tuned!

VII Circle returns to his Destroy To Rebuild imprint this March with two fierce techno tracks alongside Mickey Nox and Fractions remixes.

Following 2020's "Fearless EP", which saw support from the likes of Rebekah, Regal, and Randomer, VII Circle returns to his own Destroy To Rebuild imprint with two blistering originals and a pair of remixes from Green Fetish's Mickey Nox and Russian duo Fractions.

Title track "Warriors" gets straight to the point with a heavy-duty synth snaking its way through the track, as a series of relentless drums and sharp production combine to form a pure sonic assault. "Mayhem" takes a darker turn, conjuring images of dark, sweat-filled rooms, taking influences from intense club experiences.

For Mickey Nox's take on "Warriors", the Melbourne based producer strips the track to the bone, turning his focus to bone-crushing drum shaping, reducing the lead synth of the original to a sparsely used element, deployed to maximum effect.

Drawing from their experience on Rotterdam Electronix and Dax J's Monnom Black VA, Fractions turns "Mayhem" into an upfront banger. By adding rave-infused stabs and the occasional breakbeat to the mixture, the duo brings a fresh take on the original, with a euphoric breakdown thrown in for a brief respite before the pandemonium resumes.
