House Vinyl New Releases - News

We welcome production partnership Kassian to the fold for the 20th release on Phonica White. Consisting of Joe Danvers (who has released records on Wotnot music and Boogie Cafe recently) and Warren Cummings (aka Warren XcInce), Kassian spawned from their mutual respect and a wide crossover in each others' musical tastes, using their influences of Jazz, Soul, Broken Beat and Hip Hop to produce House with a more personal and innovative touch.

It's a fruitful collaboration, with Joe's background in the Bristol club scene and Warren's experience at Gilles Peterson's Worldwide FM resulting in a nuanced yet functional take on the classic House sound, particularly evident on their new 'Faux Polynesia EP' on Phonica White.

'Their debut release in October for the well-respected Heist Recordings from Amsterdam was well received and amassed impressive support from admired selectors. They kick off their Phonica release with title track 'Faux Polynesia', a warm, rolling atmospheric House cut that has been getting many DJ plays. On the flip is the uptempo bumper 'System' with it's spoken word hook and cheeky organ riff before rounding off the EP with 'This One's For You', a truly special end of night anthem in the making! An excellent house EP with 3 strong tracks.'

Solid Tapes label and Ritmos Comunes nights boss Fabio Vinuesa delivers his first EP in Hooded Records. '4 Cuts' is a solid representation of Fabio's work and aesthetics: strong melodic sense, mastering of deepness and feelings, great production skills and stylistic eclecticism. Electro, techno, house and dreamy hardcore all have something to say in this record, making it a great tool and essential EP in any record bag.

The four-track EP consists of a balanced synthesis of what the duo adore most in the vast field of the electronic music. The result is a fresh sound marked by a peculiar approach to deep house and disco with electro and progressive elements, characterized by unusual samples and a strong presence of acoustic instruments.

“Resonant Body” is the third studio album by Octo Octa (Maya Bouldry-Morrison). Maya recorded the songs at her cabin in New Hampshire inorder to channel the resonance of the forest, the beauty of the river, and the energy from the rituals she conducts within it. “Resonant Body” is the second release on T4T LUV NRG, the label co-run by Maya and her partner Eris Drew. It draws on the same themes of togetherness, embodiment, love, healing and survival that animated her acclaimed “For Lover’s EP” (Technicolour, 2019).

More like a hidden vault of electronic treasures than your usual prolific label, ICON OF DESIRE suddenly resurfaces for a special limited 12″.
“Origin” features three tracks from the label’s founder Andrea ‘passEnger’ Di Maggio, showcasing abstract synthetic funk, lush electronic ballads and emotional, dystopic electro.
“Origin” was supposed to be the first record of the label, then somehow the plans changed until the label rescued the tracks for this release.

Berlin-based French producer YokoO has unveiled his melodic masterpiece, 'Nothing Can Compare', a 14-track album made up of the house veteran's most eclectic sounds. Famed for his dreamy and thought-provoking sonic style, YokoO has become a full-time globetrotter over the last few years.

Made up of his pondering basslines and warm synth riffs, 'Nothing Can Compare'showcases the best of YokoO's deeply wistful style, with tracks like 'The Days I Miss You' offering a melancholic yet atmospheric feel. Displaying his dynamic diversity and powerful production prowess across the release, YokoO delves into his penchant for the percussive on 'Duality' before adding a more swirling rhythmic touch on 'Letting Go'.

'This collection of tracks is the translation of adeep inner explorative journey,' said YokoO. 'It somewhat expresses in a musical way many of the feelings and emotions I experienced over the last few years, after meeting a woman who changed the course of my life forever.

"Previously enjoying releaseson highly respected labels such as All Day I Dream, Musik Gewinnt Freunde, Kindisch, Get Physical, Moodmusic and Plastic City, YokoO has marked out a well-respected spot for himself in the global house scene.

With his musical intuition driving his production, YokoO embraces the dancefloor with a dynamic approach. Pairing his forward-thinking melodies with heavy basslines, the French producer has made his mark on the industry via a range of original releases anda back catalogue of sturdy remixes.

Mood Hut’s CZ Wang and Neo Image officially release MH006, a 12-inch that features their long-leaked and celebrated west coast party starter Just Off Wave. Originally recorded in 2014, these tracks sat on ice until they finally passed Claudio’s Cadillac-test™.

Side A’s Just Off Wave throws back to a pioneering moment of Pacific Northwest hip-hop mysticism. It first gained sneaky notoriety as a favourite of local DJs, eventually making it around the world thanks to some—in classic Mood Hut fashion—misplaced CDRs. The track is blessed with the hypnotiq call-and-response vocals of the low-key but legendary Separated At Birth crew —an alias of two Canadian rappers born on the same day. Contract restrictions prohibit us from revealing any more.

Side B features Open Mic Beat, an ecstatic DJ tool centred around an improvised drum machine traffic jam. This tune got its legs at early Mood Hut parties where it became a natural prompt, encouraging microphone-grabbing party guests to step up and freestyle.

Mount Liberation Unlimited are Tom and Niklas, two Swedes from space who have spent the last 5 years

carving out a particularly vivid niche in contemporary electronic music. Their previous work has seen them

connect with an impressive list of global dance powerhouses: New York's Beats In Space, Melbourne's

Superconscious and Munich's Permanent Vacation have all released 12'' heat from the duo, while their

hometown buddies at Studio Barnhus provided an outlet for what has been perhaps their biggest and boldest

release yet, 2017's double smash single Double Dance Lover. Their live shows are fervent, fast-paced and very

multi-instrumental affairs, performed non-stop at an increasingly prestigious list of clubs and festivals, serving

as prime examples of the MLU boys' core obsession: the interaction of human rhythm and electronic pulse.

They have their own great little radio show on Gilles Peterson's Worldwide FM! Australia loves them! They

got their artist friend Tom-Hadar Elde to sculpt their heads for their debut album cover!

That self-titled debut, to be released May 31 on Studio Barnhus, has been in progress since the very formation

of the MLU project in 2014. It contains some of their earliest work and of course their very latest – all perfected

at the Neve desk of legendary Gothenburg studio Svenska Grammofonstudion, in cahoots with mix engineer

Christoffer Berg (Depeche Mode, Robyn, Fever Ray).

The result is a sonically fascinating, endlessly generous and straight up FUN record that takes the listener on a

joyride through bittersweet stoner disco, frenzied scando-kraut jams and some of the sweetest dance pop to

come out of Sweden this side of Super Trouper.

The record is preceded by a limited 10'' release of album track Climb Me Up, complete with an exclusive club

mix of the song.

Headed up by Classic Music Company boss Luke Solomon, alongside studio partner Lance Desardi and Chicago-born producer Nick Maurer, dance music collective Powerdance create music that never loses sight of the dancefloor. Following their critically acclaimed album ‘The Lost Art of Getting Down’, described by The Guardian as “offering an object lesson in how to take inspiration from the past and apply it to the present,”, their latest 12” ‘Power Bang’ highlights one of the standout tracks from their long-player. Kicking off the A-Side, German house legend Mousse T. delivers his outstanding Disco Shizzle Mix of ‘Power Dance’, with an undulating groove and melodic keys that make it a guaranteed party-starter. The release also features the essential accapella style ‘Power Tool’, and on the flip is the eponymous ‘Power Bang’, a stripped back, funk-laden version of the ‘Power Dance’.

The year is off to a good start! The highly anticipated new Rising Sun album is going to be released any day now. We are very proud to press this incredible record on vinyl. 'The Lamentations Of Rising Sun' leaves nothing to be desired and is full of surprises. It defies categorization and shows influences of the past while taking us into the future. The bass and groove have a special energy and will inspire you to listen to this record religiously. It goes directly into the heart and soul. Vinyl tastes better!

Legendary Italian house/deep house DJ and producer Don Carlos based in Varese, North Italy. Active since the late 70s. His productions have mixing house rhythms with afro-american jazz sounds, verging sometime towards disco, sometime towards deep house or electronic soul. There's a similarly warm and hazy feel to second cut "Analog Express", where a nagging bassline and chillin' beats come wrapped in sunrise-ready electronics, toasty chords and more cut-up old school jazzy house. Throw in some refreshingly positive synthesizer flourishes of the kind once found in Italo-house records and you've got another tried-and-tested winner. Elegant, well produced classic deep house with sensual jazzy and smooth synth elements that sound really good on any equipment. All of the tracks on this EP are quality for anyone into deep house and quality club music in general.

After the first EP, that you must have heard in clubs across the world - Laconica is back with its second. As with the first one, this release is all about the three solid cuts, which are made especially for the dancefloors. The first track 'Who Gave You Dis' is a deep groove in tandem with whispering vocals and powerful drums. 'This for B' is a perfect minimalistic tool for after-hour sets. Last but not least, 'Lil' Souvenir' (B2) is revolving around the Chicago house feeling with some classic vocals in it.

With the ethos 'Quality House Music Never Betray', Eureka! is a driving force in the evolution of quality house music.
Produced by Pablo Valentino, founder of Faces Records with MCDE, this fifth release features collaborations with Kez YM and Simbad; a Eureka! debut... The A side kicks us off with 'Bananas', with its edgy house groove and up-tempo piano riff, followed by the more downtempo chillout jazzy track, 'Inspiracao'.
Side B's 'Space Tribe' brings our journey into the lo-fi, featuring the beautiful echoing synth sounds of veteran London producer, Simbad. ※Pablo Valentino - Space Tribe released digitally only.

Ptaki's tunes soar wide-winged like their translation (bird) infers.
With a breakout single under their belts on the Very Polish Cut-Outs 'Krystina' and a swirling vapour of mystique surrounding them, the duo present their first full 12" of original material which is both contemplative and transfixing.
The Kalina EP on Young Adults Recordings clocks in around 25 minutes, but the ground it covers cannot be clearly conveyed through conventional cartography - a birdseye view of jagged cliffs, coastal haze, rolling bagpipe hillsides, and smoke signals.

Opener 'Warsaw' borders on the sublime with a patience and gentle simplicity that can't be taught or bought. Placidly ethereal, this is cinematic Balearia in the tradition of Quiet Village that won't soon be forgotten. Chimes, toms, horns and strums swell and crash like gentle titans.

London-based artist and label boss Rich NxT returns with remixes from Oscillat co-owner Malin Genie and Argy, who most recently released on Moscow Records.
Graduating onto its sixth release, NxT Records celebrates by looking back through its catalogue while serving up some new, refreshed cuts from two of Rich NxT’s favourite artists. Both have been given free rein to choose from the back catalogue and remix a track of their choosing. First up Malin Genie is on fine form effortlessly showing why he is one of the kings of groove, taking on ‘Attery‘ from NXT004 which was championed heavily last year by Jamie Jones. Genie’s free flowing rhythm takes percussive and bass elements, gliding and rising all the way through.
On the flip the incredibly versatile Argy remixes ‘Sauna De Plastico’ from NXT002, rightly identifying the old DC10 feel as a starting point for a modern reinterpretation, bringing his influential sounds from the time bang up to date. Finally Rich NxT’s original of ‘Sauna De Plastico‘ is also included after it’s sell out second release, giving a second chance at owning this on vinyl only.

Lucky number seven for Good Company Records is The "O.G."EP, Roza Terenzi's cheekily-titled debut.
Three tracks of doof-approved club gear from the Perth-born Melbourne resident, plus a bonus 'Sunday-morning-coming-up'megamix from Vancouver's Jayda G.
With a sound like Windham Hill gone hardcore, this record promises fans from Black Rock to Berlin.

After the driving, new age electro of opener 'The Right Zone', Terenzi declares 'Yeh Yeh Yeh' with a bush-bashing Jeep of a bassline, blasting Roxanne Shante as the posse pile out of the whip & into the function.

Later, 'Higher Place' sparks the chalice for a pre-dawn dip into the spirit realm...

Sometime after that, designated driver (and Freakout Cult-leader) Jayda G takes the wheel, pulling into the church car park with her 'Deep in Your Soul' remix, a piano house kick-on of all three Roza Terenzi originals. "Feels good, right"

The first in a smash bomb TRILOGY of 12' monster dance floor madness. S.A.M. goes deep and groovy with the A-side track Philokalia. It's a lush but powerful 909 driven journey with a power climax with stabby melodic synth strings reminiscent of Underground Resistance. The B-side features a unique exploration into the use of ravy Armand Van Helden-esque sounds mixed with a powerful simple beat and melodic synths and a whispering voice. Two tracks that has already seen support from Raresh, MANDAR, Matthew Dekay and more this summer.

Passend dazu fragt Feature-Vokalist CeCe Rogers direkt im Opener: "What Is House Music". Die Antwort liegt hiermit vor!

As Hans Peeman's side project next to his Junktion moniker, New Franklin Theory returns to Outplay with a very personal project. Five carefully produced songs in the form of a mini-album of sorts, which showcases his journey into more melodic synth heavy work. Starting off, 'Andromeda Beach' eases you into the spacey atmosphere of the record with dreamy rhodes supported by his distinctive percussion and bass work.

Following, 'Homeward' introduces melancholic synth lines grounded by an infectious bass line for a Balearic inspired feel. 'Afterburner' ups the tempo with warm arpeggiated Juno sounds and saxy disco samples, which will remind you of his previous work. Space-funk-synth-boogie, that's what comes to mind when listening to 'In Orbit'. Instant groove with a solid beat interspersed with brief vocal samples and dreamy rhodes chords. As the closer, 'The Holtzman Effect' (award for 2018's most nerdy song title, look it up) sets you off floating away on warm chords and bass together with characteristic space bleeps.

"Bananenräuber" - Das funky Drama eines Diebs, der Früchte klaut und sie in den Laden zurückbringt. Kalabrese stolperte über diese rührende Geschichte in einem schweizerischen Schwarz-Weiß-Film namens „Hinter Den Sieben Gleisen“. Auf der A-Seite nimmt Ripperton den Ehrenplatz ein mit einer hypnotisch düsteren Version von “Is This”.

Hot on the heels of the Jaxx Madicine remix of Kyoto Jazz Sextet on Local Talk, Tommy 'Tubojazz' Garofalo - goes on a solo adventure once again.

His previous EP "Unbreakable" had equal parts of soul, jazz and funk blended together with a house twist.
The follow-up "Night Colors EP" shows both that and a deeper electronic side.
Opening track 'Two' is a clever number with its changes & sonic wizardry throughout.
Turbojazz makes the perfect blend between house and techno dipped into one big pot of deep Detroit vibes.

Next up is 'The Joint', a track that wears the distinct Turbojazz trademark throughout with its playful keys and sequenced drum programming at full tilt.

George Smeddles and LondonGround touch down on Neverdogs’ Bamboleo Records to close November as they deliver the latest split EP on the label entitled ‘Dopamine Games’.

Founded in early 2019, Neverdogs’ Bamboleo Records imprint continues further its ever-growing reputation as a hub for quality productions across the house spectrum, with releases to date from the label bosses themselves alongside a selection of emerging talent and close friends that represent their vision, with each taking one side of a record and delivering productions that showcase their own sound. The latest instalment in the split EP series sees the introduction of two fresh artists, with Resonance Records co-founder George Smeddles making his debut on the label following releases on the likes of Sola, VIVa and more, whilst Argentinian producer DJ LondonGround helms the flip as both producers deliver two original cuts each to form their ‘Dopamine Games’ EP.

Opening the release, ‘Mind Games’ quickly unravels into a slick groove-heavy production guided by soulful vocal hooks and rich stabs, whilst ‘Feeling’ sees Smeddles lay the focus on bumping sub-bass and rolling percussion arrangements throughout. The flip-side welcomes the introduction of LondonGround’s first original ‘Digital Dopamine’, merging hefty kicks with dynamic, ever-evolving chord melodies, before flowing into ‘Loco22’ as the heady cut introduces tripped out vocals and crisp organic drum work to conclude proceedings in fine fashion.
