HouseDeepTech

The next instalment in the My Rules catalog sees label owner Justin Van Der Volgen take on Japanese house legend Yukihiro Fukutomi aka Foog's techy club jam 'Flying'.

Originally available as a digital-only release, it's twisted into two exclusive new versions.
On the A-side edit, Justin travels down the less walked path of splicing and shortens the track, which along with his subtle drum additions tastefully amplify and sharpen the feeling of tension and release.
The B-side dub is a heavy bass and drum mix complete with flanged hissing hi-hats, alien claps and cavernous echoes.

Marcos Baiano - Real Music Needz To Happen
BSOULLTD001
b.soul
excl22.07.201622.JUL.16

HouseDeepVinyl Only

'B-SOUL Music' is pleased to introduce his new musical project, only vinyl, giving a clean and simple message: 'Real Music Needz to Happen'. Nowadays we have too much technology and too many 'sepcial-effetcs', which move us from reality. We need to go back to basics to rediscover the true essence of each sound, in its nature, and above all expressing the most important part of his emotion.

'Real Music Needz to Happen' is the first release on wax, for B.SOUL Music, soul of Marcos Baiano, presented in four versions: Original & Dub Mixes, with the special support of two remixes, signed Jovonn and Terence :Terry:.
The 'Original Mix' is full of 'old-school' contents, complemented by a warm and evolving groove, Marcos characteristic. The Dub version is much closer to all the needs that our current music scene requires, but without missing a special atmosphere and always keeping on the scene an 'olds-chool' soul.
'Jovonn's Remix' sums up the message of the label, in a hypnotic groove, complementary to a 'kick' full of energy. Everything, linked by the unique taste of a genius, that Jovonn has accustomed us to savor and it's sincerely suggested to rise the dance floor to another level.
'Terence :Terry: Remix' also fits perfectly the idea of this project. Showing what is the connection between the Old-School Electro & Deep House and our 'modern' world. Flawless groove and captivating atmospheres.
B.SOUL Music emphasizes the frantic search for a 'future', with the help of these two factors: old & new. We must never forget our origins, we need this to be able to go ahead. And above all we must not forget that: Real Music.. Needz to Happen.

Rocksteady Disco

HouseDeepGarage

After 4 years Rocksteady Disco drops its first remix record, featuring up-and-coming heavy hitters LADYMONIX, Sol Power AllStars, Pontchartrain, and Topher Horn. LADYMONIX, one of Detroit's most recently exciting producers and deejays, kicks off the release with an east coast meets gospel garage house remix of Peter Croce's Revival', before Washington DC's Sol Power AllStars turn up the groove on a brilliant afro fusion styled remix of Topher Horn's Photo For Todd', loaded with plenty of hip grooving percussive bounce and Mini Moog lines. Pontchartrain continues to dig into his peak hour deep house side, with his afro-Colombian tinged remix of Peter Croce's Revival'. It features peak hour synth stabs, sax, and live alegre. Lastly, the ever jazzy and soulful Topher Horn digs back into his debut release and gives it the VIP rubdown, with heavier drums and bouncier disco-not-disco piano. Highly recommended diverse release for the discerning deejay and listener.

Wolfgang Tillmans - Source
FRAGILE07
Fragile
12inch07.05.201807.MAY.18

HouseDeepMinimalBeatsExperimental

'Source', a new release by Wolfgang Tillmans, comes in an original version and two remixes by legendary German producer Roman Flügel.
The sixteen-minute original version is a vocal piece in which Tillmans explores his abilities to generate vocal sounds to tell a story while refraining from using actual words. Meshing six different sequences into one composition, each sequence investigates different moods and emotions meandering between the guttural, sacral, and absurd. Recorded in a studio session in 2017, the piece focuses on the immediacy of vocal improvisation as much as on its post-production and edit.
Tillmans knows that whatever is achieved through spontaneity can as easily be lost, as he recently told Emily Bicks in a feature for 'The Wire': I am, of course, always planning things ahead, and I am managing an archive of 25 years, and communicating in the now with dozens of contacts, but the fortunate thing that I feel I've retained is an ability to get in touch with this moment of being in the here and now, and seeing, or hearing, or allowing words or melodies to pop into my head in such moments.
The A-side and an additional bonus track are both remixes by German producer Roman Flügel. In a ten-minute remix, the multi-faceted producer stays true to the original's spontaneity and develops changing arrangements wherever Tillmans' vocals are creating momentum. Exploring various directions, Flügel's experience allows him to glide effortlessly through the different sequences. The bonus 909 Mix instead takes a tighter direction with claps and high-hats and builds up around Tillmans' staccato laughter before culminating in beautiful house piano chords.

The title may suggest a specific origin, a 'source' that is to be located, but in Tillmans' understanding it is a transient space abundant of undiscovered possibilities.

The Mexican platform Comunité returns with its second outpost in the form of a Various Artist package showcasing some of the core

Through a heap of selected works of both regulars and newcomers - COM002 offers a glimpse of the festival's signature curation of eclectic tastes, from prime-time floor fillers blended in with experimental acoustic sorcery. The 12' kicks off with a notorious collaboration between two regulars of the Tulum-based event: Tijuana's Soul of Hex mind-bending classic approach to house music amalgamated with Mule Musiq's Kuniyuki and his complex synth work - culminating in Dampe, a 7 minute joint-effort between Mexico and Japan. A2 continues in the vein of Cuba's Alpha 606 - a fresh artist debut on the label. Jaime Read - Target This Mf

Mint Condition

HouseDeepTechAcidTechnoTechno

Mint Condition - A reissue label focussed on excavating the outer fringes of classic House and Techno. Unreleased mixes, classics and overlooked gems mined from the last 20+ of contemporary dance music are the order of the day. From Chicago, Detroit and New York to London and beyond, Mint Condition have got their expert digging hats on to bring you exclusive heat and those rarer than rare jams that have been on your wants list for years! Dig in....
Hot on the heels of his 'Relief Sevensixty' EP we are pleased to announce the latest instalment of Jaime Read cuts from the vaults. The 'Target This MF' EP is another collection of golden-era jams from Read's envious archive. Steeped in history, these infamous tracks are now seeing the light of day again. You only have to have a quick online search to read the fascinating story of the journey of this music and then maybe this EP title will make sense! Kicking off with the serious Detroit leanings of 'P.E.G.' you get a real taste of what's in store, frantic claps and detuned synth swells combine to create a pacey and essential slice of futurist Techno. A2 'Sux' is another epic piece of space electronics, tough drum machine programming and swirling sounds give the track an epic feel, mildly disorientating in the best possible way it's hard to believe this music originates from the South coast of the UK! B1 'Rein (Pt.1)' is mining a deeper, House infused sound. A sublime groove that tips it's hat to the masters with a serious bassline that just won't stop. Funky machine music of the highest order. The EP finishes with the absolute killer 'Peeano', a jam that flips Jazz on it's head in zero gravity, incessant piano lines drive us deep into the speaker stacks and it feels great. The whole EP is a total trip. Essential music from an unheralded UK legend.
The 'Target This MF' EP has been legitimately released with the full involvement of Jaime Read for 2017 and remastered by London's Curve Pusher from the original sources especially for Mint Condition. 100% legit, licensed and released. Dug, remastered, repackaged and brought to you by the caring folks at Mint Condition!

Delusions Of Grandeur

HouseDeep

It's taken almost 3 years to get the man like Medlar back on Delusions fol- lowing his 2015 release with Dan Shake but finally it's come together. That release, along with his regular output for Wolf, Riverette and For Discos Only has helped cement Medlar's reputation as one of the leading UK un- derground house producers and led to official remixes and approved edits for legendary labels TK Disco and West End no less! The Medlar seal of quality has led to support from such influential heavyweight selectors as DJ Harvey, Gilles Peterson and DJ Koze.

Kicking things off we see Medlar in straight up dance floor mode on title track NRG, coming through with a drum-heavy workout that utilises a gnarly bassline, echoing synth stabs and rasping hats to excellent effect.
Flip over for his own Dub Version which strips things back further placing all the emphasis on the bassline and going heavy on the Space Echo for a tripped out, dubby warehouse vibe tailor made for the freaky hours.
Closing the EP we have the aptly named Tripped which drops the BPM's for a low-slung mood-setter to warm up the floors with. A simple groove lays the foundation for a rolling bassline while chiming synths weave in and out of the spacious mix.

The Micronaut - Forms
ACKERLP005
Acker Records
12inch09.12.201609.DEC.16

HouseDeepElectroBeatsDubstep

The Micronaut creates the soundtrack for those moments when the screeching of the subway and the steps on the wet pavement have echoed away into the dark city sky. Those moments when the ghosts of fumes and stop lights haunt the empty streets, when behind glowing windows dreams and urban exit strategies get ready for bed. When everybody is close to each other, but everyone is on his own. When the city comes to a standstill, but the wheels inside the heads of its inhabitants keep spinning. Stefan Streck discovers the musical equivalent for this epic atmosphere somewhere between Bass Music, Electronica and Pop. The cinematic soundscapes of his nocturnal City Blues have a somewhat tragic vibe, which is very noticeable both during the impulsive, passionate live shows of The Micronaut and on 'Forms', his third studio album on Acker Records, distributed through Kompakt. Between moments of deep melancholy and sudden eruptions of blissful euphoria he creates a feverish state of tension.

PFEIFFER

HouseDeepTechTechnoTechno

From the redwood forests of Big Sur and the industrial warehouses of downtown Los Angeles comes PFEIFFER, a label dedicated to quality and a diverse musical output. Pfeiffer follows in the footsteps of labels such as Svek and Kompakt, known for releasing a wide range of techno and house with a common thread of unique and unpredictable energy. Looking to bring this type of eclectic curation into the modern era, Pfeiffer draws inspiration from the raw simplicity and effortless magnetism of its namesake location on the central coast of California.

The sophomore release from Pfeiffer is here, and with it new sounds and styles from the label's anonymous lead producer. 'Forgot' kicks things off with an off kilter, swinging groove and clever zany synth work to match. Shifting basslines bounce under classic Robert Owens vocals, evolving into a huge riff over the course of the tune. On the flip, 'Feel The Love' follows suit with a sub-heavy, stomping groove, staying in the deeper end of the spectrum. A playful synth riff grows throughout the track, weaving throughout the combination of chopped vocals, analog sounds and hand played percussion.

Deltitnu - Shaman Among The Machines Ep
NR002V
Native Response
12inch13.10.201713.OCT.17

HouseDeepMinimal

Native Response returns with another 12-inch record with NR002: Shaman Among The Machines by Deltitnu.
Deltitnu is a homegrown Native Response project, debuting with three tracks that all share a certain feeling of mystery, accompanied by a steady grooving remix by Roger Gerressen. A1 is titled Sorry , a sweet and sincere record, that starts off with lyrical pianos drifting into space, while elegant drum machine rhythms build up more and more, developing a more club ready feel. This one is easy to lose yourself into, as the song progresses into vulnerable pads and a vocal stating Sorry, symbolising an apology from us humans to planet earth, for all we ve done. Continuing on to A2 Shaman Among The Machines we find ourselves in a whole different spectrum of the EP. It s hard to define where the kick ends and the bassline begins. A whole oozing of bass covers your body, and a miraculous atmosphere embraces you while the song effortlessly develops into a peaktime killer track. It moves on to a sexy acid line and playful drum rhythms on top, that when you think you almost understand them, they turn around again and show they were fooling around with you all along.
Flipping over the record; we start off with B1: Foundation Was Laid.
This meditative and hypnotising record shows that techno doesn t always have to be dark and dystopian. First of all the disco bass supported by the 303 massages the listener into a mindstate ready to take off. Once you re ready the atmospherical pads will take over and move you deeper into the comforting ambience of the track. The drums keep you grounded all the time, making sure no energy is lost on the dancefloor. Foundation Was Laid represents the start of the record label, Native Response. We conclude with B2, the Roger Gerressen Response of Shaman Among The Machines. Roger Gerressen does what he does best; giving the record a dubby and groovy spin.
He more or less adapts the qualities of a chameleon, resulting in a track that easily blends into the groove of the night, at any timeslot.

limited repress !

Newly formed Enclave Records, a vinyl and digital label from the UK, drop their first release courtesy of the mysterious Bioroot. Hailing from Jutland, Denmark, Bioroot's deep and direct cuts have gone criminally underheard - until now. With this 4-track EP, Bioroot's showing for Enclave is his strongest yet and is set to find him a whole new audience.

'ENJKH' opens things up with a playful bass line and percussive groove. Its harmonious synth and vocal riff creates a compelling drive that's underscored by an increasingly ominous menace- definitely one for those heads down moments.

Track A2 is 'JBLNC', where we find Bioroot's signature counter play - a groovy Chicago house beat underpinned by the dub influences found throughout his work. A left-of-centre combination but one that in the capable hands of Bioroot undeniably works.

Flipping the record to B1 presents us with 'TCW'. Here, a more driven house groove leads the way, followed by warm and dreamy pads that allow the track to find its true calling as a dusty deep house classic - but one that feels fresh through Bioroot's clever arrangements.

Closing out this finely curated EP is 'HIG', a track that, depending on your mood, will either heighten your senses or make you drift away. 'HIG' displays Bioroot's innately musical side and proves he can draw on his considerable production prowess to deliver something truly immersive.

Trancendence - Concepts Of Higher Dimension
STR-003
STROBE RECORDS
12inch09.04.201809.APR.18

HouseDeep

Another hot reissue title from the legendary Strobe records crew outta early 1990's Canada. Ron Allen was the driving force behind the label and along with numerous other producers including close associate Hayden Andre and more, Strobe forged a solid sonic identity that was fresh, original and influential. A true connoisseur's label that dropped numerous classics, Strobe gave us that deep, emotive machine-funk that exemplified the early to mid 90's sound. 'Concepts Of Higher Dimension' came out in 1991 remarkably, and it still sounds fresh today, produced by Ron Allen under his Transcendence pseudonym and featuring 3 stellar tracks of bass-heavy warehouse jams. 'Frenzy' opens proceedings and with a title like that you'd expect some sort of drum machine beatdown, instead we're treated to a super smoothed-out deep house cut that oozes blissed out synth pads & pan-pipe like flourishes. A true early hours gem. 'Luv 'N' Happiness (Chapter 1)' is next, stepping up the energy levels a little and utilising a well known Disco vocal sample to maximum effect. This one's a definite nod to Chicago but done in Ron Allen's signature style. Essential. Finishing off the EP is 'Magique Noir' a tough, bleeps and bassline monster that sounds like it could have dropped in Sheffield at the tail end of the late 80's, absolutely monstrous. This jam will test your speakers no end. Amazingly well rounded and produced, the 'Concepts Of Higher Dimension' EP is an absolute must if you're a House & Techno lover. Sleeping not advised. Remastered and reissued from directly from Ron's personal source materials with original Strobe artwork intact it's time these artifacts were made available again for 2018. A truly essential release!

HouseDeep

Aroop Roy has been making waves with his unique sounds for the past few years, with a wealth of successful releases and a busy gig schedule at the helm of some of the best clubs around the world. By fusing elements of Jazz, Afro, Latin, Funk and Soul with the deeper end of House and Disco, Aroop has forged his own style with EPs on revered labels including G.A.M.M, Basic Fingers, Freestyle and Lazy Days. For his Delusions Of Grandeur debut he pulled out all the stops, delivering three original tracks which further show his diversity as an artist and ability to produce left of centre, quality underground music without losing sight of the dancefloor.

Things kick off with Save Our Love, a track that's absolutely brimming with energy thanks to punchy Wurlitzer chops, tension-building Philly strings, and a rock-solid disco groove.

Next up we have What I love which sees Aroop take an altogether more freaky approach flipping an uptempo rolling break, distorted synth line, cross-rhythm stabs and rasping vocal cuts into an edgy dance floor workout.

Closing this brilliant EP is the low-slung bump of Walk That Walk featuring original vocals from Oakland, CA based Blacktroniks who delivers his flow on top of a bass-heavy slice of deep electro boogie.

Chris Cuevas / Eddie Fowlkes / Free Energy / Black Science Orchestra - Ralph Lawson Presents Back To Basics Rare Classics Vol 4 (feat Masters At Work, Rob Mello, Ralph Law
BASICVISION004
Basic Vision
12inch27.04.201827.APR.18

HouseDeep

Basic Vision 004 features a selection of late night classics from the legendary dance-floor of back to basics. The club was one of the first in the UK to receive a late license in the mid 90s. This allowed DJs to play long late night sets. There was a glass roof at The Pleasure Rooms venue where these tracks were played, which in summer let the sunshine in, so there the last set became a sunrise session. All the cuts included on this record are bona fide early morning rare classics records from the club. There are also two previously unreleased edits. The first is a Rob Mellow extended version of the Masters at Work dub of Chris Cuevas - 'Hip Hop'. Then there is the unreleased Lost in Time edit of Black Science Orchestra - New Jersey Deep. This track was often featured by Lawson as the last track of the night during the Pleasure Rooms years. Original Detroit techno pioneer Eddie Fowlkes' highly sought after 'Where Will I Be is featured after years being deleted and will not be available digitally. The record is completed with Free Energy aka Joshua IZ - 'Happiness' from Guidance records, one of the all time great house music records from San Francisco.

Next up on Detroit Wax is a phenomenal two track EP from the prolific eddie fowlkes(techno originator - godfather of techno soul). Renowned for their ability to seamlessly fuse together elements of urban techno & urban house and old school funky influences, and the DJ production from the home land of Detroit.
Side A.
A deep vocals from Naa Dee(from the Lu, Swiss)
has soulful ness that heats up the track into inspirational movement on the dance floor that just don't stop on the dance floor.
Side (b). This is a surefire dancefloor Detroit destroyer that would be right at home in any DJ's create already gaining heavyweight support from the likes of Loco Dice, Norm Tally, Robert Diezt, Juan Atkins, Delano Smith, shall I continue

Folamour - Umami (2x12") (No Cover)

HouseDeepDance

Folamour has worked under a number of different aliases and makes poetic music. As a DJ he has lit up dance floors all over France, and he also runs the FHUO Records label. This new nine track LP is the start of a busy year that promises more music on Church and Defected, all after some fine outings on labels like Fauxpas Music and All City Records. The excellent album is an ode to his love of Japanese culture and mixes up beats and house samples, disco swing and future jazz in ways that work both in the club and your living room.

The warm and musical 'Night of Desirable Objects' kicks things off with loose jazz chords, shuffling beats and welcoming moods that come from smart vocal samples. It's a brilliantly heartfelt opener that makes way for the slowed down grooves of 'Y'all Right.' Trumpets, live drums and gorgeous chords all exude genuine soul and funk, and 'Petit Prince Du Macadam' is an exquisite hip hop beat that echoes the great Dilla.

Elsewhere, 'Ivoire' is a big, afro-tinged cut with bouncy drums and vocals as well as party-starting percussion. 'Look at Me or I'll Steal Your Eyes' then pulls back to perfect loops of funky guitar, trilling chords and organic drum work. Like much of the music here, the loveably rough style of Moodymann is a big presence in this one. French filter styles characterise the sunny disco influenced grooves of 'Devoted to U', 'Oyabun' is a blissed out bit of romantic house, 'Kickflipin' That Stuff' is another gorgeous hip hop interlude weighed down by hot soul and 'Jah Love' is a masterfully melodic piece with splashes of cymbal, brilliant key playing and jazz drums that find their way into your heart.
