House Vinyl New Releases - News

Bicep continue to welcome new artists into the fold as they expand their Feel My Bicep imprint with a 12' from fresh signees Tim Sweeney and Lauer operating under T&P. Number 10 in their release catalogue comes as a single titled 'Hail Falls' which includes remixes from Dark Sky and fellow Irishman Hammer. Having introduced their collaboration through a self released record on Sweeney's own Beats In Space back in 2016 - T&P continue to develop this fruitful relationship and roll out more Disco-tinged Acid in a manner that suits them perfectly to a release on Feel My Bicep.
Monkeytown and Black Acre affiliates Dark Sky then expand on their illustrious catalogue not only with their forthcoming LP for Monkeytown but with a remix here that sees the original's rich melodies spread over intricate, skipping rhythms. Then Hammer weighs in with his own bold, punchy take. Galvanised drums and a sharpened melodies lift the original into more tense territory as another strong addition to the imprint is capped off.

Unreleased material by the great Vincent Floyd.... TIP!

After seven years and 11 releases on labels like Slices of Life and Daniel Bell's Elevate outpost, Berlin producer Baaz is ready to reveal his first full-length effort. His 10-track LP, Red Souvenirs, is set to drop on 24th of November via the beatmaker's own Office Recordings, which makes it the fourth release from the imprint after a record from Christopher Rau and two EPs from Baaz himself.
There's no overarching concept behind the album, nor any grandiose statements or artistic messages. Rather, Red Souvenirs captures flashes of Baaz's moods and translates them into vibes that are communicated via hypnotic grooves, crisp beats, and astral synths. The tracks, which he made between 2010 and 2014, span the genres that have attracted Baaz the most over the years, from snappy house beats to narcotic dub techno and psychedelic hip-hop. Album opener 'Everyone' is a mostly ambient tune peppered with glittering synth pricks, gentle rhythmic tick-tocks, and extended synth pads, while tracks like 'Endori' and 'Closed' are snappy deep house workouts with quiet, screwed-down vocal samples. 'Spacehub' and 'Pressyn,' on the other hand, explore languid hip-hop instrumentals embellished with zaps and long, gliding chords that hold for minutes on end. But no matter what form his productions take, Baaz's emphasis on enveloping rhythms, bubbling melodies, and relaxed atmospherics remains.

After the release of his beautifully put together album 'Shining The Money Ball' via Vancouver's 1080p earlier last year (which will see a limited vinyl release on Lo Recordings later this year), as well as having music released through 100% Silk, Body-San joins the Lo family with 'Pacific Reasons EP'.

Having been a part of the new wave of house music to emerge over the past few years from the West Coast of America and Canada, Body-San delivers music with a rich sense of depth, emotive precision and concise instrumentation throughout.

Brandon Knocke (in his own apt description) offers three 'coastal burners' through 'Pacific Reasons', with the addition of the majestic interlude 'Liquid Entrance'.

'Topaz Chalice' sets us off with the sunset, created through comforting yet strangely ominous chords and vocal melody lines. The track slowly evolves with small percussive flurries, beautiful chord and melody progressions and a smooth, sliding bass line. As pleasant and calming as 'Topaz Chalice' is, we still feel the full force of Knocke's thumping kick, making it as viable for the dance as it is for the cans.

Following on in the same sun-kissed vein is 'Central Casting' where the pace picks up, driven with skittering percussion and a broken arpeggiated sub line. Choral pads and airy synth flourishes finish of the A-side.

Title track 'Pacific Reasons' brings a deeper side to the release, an offering for the sunrise crew. Where the drums and percussion were of more prominence in the A-side, we see them act as the buried motor that carries these luscious atmospheres as we drift off into the early hours of the morning.
While combining brilliantly crafted synthetic sound design (to mimic the sounds of the moving tide), inquisitive, ascending melody work echoing and bouncing over layered heart beats with ticking percussion, Knocke brings the EP to a reflective close in 'Liquid Entrance'.

Boo William's "Mortal Trance" remixed by Ricardo Miranda, Jordan Fields and Boo Williams himself.

Stray melodies, filtered machines, and electromagnetic interference weave in, out and around one another in the seventh installment in the Confused House series. Four pieces configured thru soft interplay of randomized / repetitive systems. Ambient warrior values.

Frits Wentink remixes tracks from his debut album, Rarely Pure, Never Simple. For club use only.

Jump Source is a collaborative effort between two pals, Francis Latreille & Patrick Holland (Project Pablo). It all started on a Thursday afternoon in Montreal's Mile End at Francis' home studio. Over an MPC 2000XL, Moog Source, modular kit, and some Junos, the two tweaked breaks and blended pads until things sat just right. "Guide to Action" fits 4 tracks, some of which include solos, vocals, and amusing fadeouts.

Adventurous and fresh modern club tunes on this 2nd Nautilus Rising release, the label from the infamous Subclub in Glasgow. Music is my the talented Lazaros with a special nod to Frankey & Sandrino for the introduction. An EP inspired by forests, black coffee, beer and his native Cologne - GE EP is a release ranging from illustrative and adventurous to peak time dancefloor tracks that are essential for dj's such as Dixon and the likes. At points deeply routed in analogue sounds and at others, driven by an astrological palette. Surprising debut release that shouldnt be overlooked. Limited edition with special screenprinted artwork.

First release in Minuendo by Marc Cotterell owner and producer of Plastik People Recordings with vocalist Doreen Younglove. Contains remix by Chris Gray (Deep4Life).

In the spring of 2015, Max D flew west for an extended stay at the Mood Hut chalet. A week of studio haze with various configurations of music people produced 'Always On' — presented here in three versions: the Club mix, Bonus beats, and Original mix. Plus a special club bonus track, Four, for all the tripping DJs in the local area and beyond.

Nick Curly's first Truesoul release is outstanding. This collection of three track's encapsulates both Nick Curly's and Truesoul's ethos and moulds them into a driving house machine. First off, 'Crossroads' uses a delicate melody that is under-lined with lashings of driving drums. 'Trust' shuffles along with it's rolling percussion and bass line whilst 'Indigo Child' is just as funky and will get any dance floor fired up

Finally repressed

After efforts by Legowelt and Behling & Simpson, Berlin based Oskar Offermann comes up with the 3rd installment in the Riverette series.

After a 2 year hiatus, Jay Simon's Must Have Records (now based out of Atlanta) returns following the success of Seven Davis Jr's debut "One EP" with the debut EP from another new artist. Renato P is a 23 year old self taught musician from the Boston metro area. Hip-hop, soul, Brazilian and house influences meld to create a sound all its own. 6 songs ranging from sample based hip hop, to deep jazzy house. A substantial release with different sounds for different ears.

The DJs/producers trio from Marseille, Fafa Monteco, Stéphane B and Mike 303 founded the band SUPERFUNK in 1998.
From the very beginning, they became French Touch leaders with Funky House remixes for Bob Sinclar, Neneh Cherry, Gus Gus, etc... and their first single "Come back" was a hit in clubs.
They released their album "Hold up" in February 2000, which contained the original versions of club favourites "Last Dance", "Lucky Star" (hit featuring the American singer Ron Carroll, at the top of the charts in many countries) and "The Young MC" !

LTD 10's Vol 6 welcomes UK native The Last Trip To Gandahar to the family. His previous outings with our dear friends at City Fly & most recent debut solo EP with DC label Better Listen Records have helped pave the way for his very own two-tracker with us on Kolour LTD 10's.

Klamauk are all set to reveal their second release of 2015 with this excellent offering from their very own Tilman. This 5 track EP takes in a broad ranging musical spectrum from the warm, emotive house of 'Voyager' to the eerie acidic groove of 'Outer Space'.
The EP really shows off the prowess of Tilman's productions who has been going from strength to strength of late and is a great addition to the Klamauk catalogue.

Antonio debuts on NS with an E.P of muscular dungeon boogie straight from Italy's golden coast via the dank basements of Frankfurt.Drawing on the metallic throbs of his adopted German hometown, Antonio pushes the machines to breaking point, allowing primitive techno flourishes, crushing breakdowns and dopamine-draining house excursions to be fed straight into the back of a tape deck.

A collection of synth-based burners, strong drum loops and danceable melodies. Italo-Trance for the whole family to enjoy.

Klamauk is back and ready to drop their first release of 2017 with this excellent cut from Moony Me. The Austrian artist has already turned heads with a string of quality records dropping since 2012 and this current release is up to his usual high standards channelling deep, sample driven house vibes. The EP opens with City of Storms', a knowing nod to soulful Chicago and a lovely Iron Curtis rework that seriously does the business. Over on the flip we have Puzzle Shuffle' which packs lots of energy with the main hook, and will surely be a hit on the dancefloor. For Glass Jungle Chant' Moony Me uses a lighter touch with intricate live percussion, lovely chords and a squelchy sub bass.

The Dutch Pinkman label is back with a new EP from Xosar, who debuts on the label and covers release number 10. Xosar is the Berlin based, American born producer who has excelled on LIES and Rush Hour with a unique, experimental sound that draws heavily on the hardware she uses as well as a live, freeform approach to arrangement. Here she comes correct once more with two new cuts of mystic techno.
'World Of Illusion' goes first and marries reverb rich claps and cacophonous hi hats with a tough bassline. Spritely and nimble and with thumping kicks down below, various bleeps, serene string sounds and glassy melodies colour the groove and make for engaging listening. On the flip, 'Phasers of Eden' is a kinetic fusion of ticking percussion, molten synths and withering chords that works you into an ethereal and otherworldly trance. Still with some all important drum funk powering things along down below, this is another idiosyncratic winner from Xosar.

BLACK BONES debut release is really something !
As soon as we heard these expertly sourced and beautifully crafted reworks we were hooked !
This crew definitely know what they're doing. From the Daphni-esque full throttle Afro A Side, to a duo of lost classics on the flip, this one's a keeper...We're told their skill at exhuming knows no bounds, so get ready for the next instalment !

Blair French comes through with a Detroit Deep House meets Afro-Brazilian Beat stomper. The A side title track holds a nearly 10 minute aural odyssey feat. Paul Randolph (Jazzanova / Mahogani Music), Ryan Gimpert (Will Sessions), and Topher Horn (Rocksteady Disco). The flip holds "Ayiba I Yeri O" and "Pagode Americano", 2 world Beat dance floor destroyers.

Concept record alert! 'Fairlights' by Fort Romeau is a tribute to the - technically minded readers might raise an eyebrow - Australian Computer Musical Instrument that people like Peter Gabriel, Herbie Hancock or Kate Bush fell in love with during the late 1970s/early 1980s. Anyways, if Fort Romeau's current album is like painting with oil, 'Fairlights' is like drawing with permanent marker- to quote the man himself. All based on the word Saku, you will experience an epic journey evolving around heart-breaking dance-floor romanticism, jaw-breaking beat exercises, life-affirming ambient digressions, and a general feeling of spring fever.

Limited to 300.
For its 16th installment True Romanceis proud to welcome the uber-talented Janisinto its ranks. The busy Frankfurt based producer concocted an irresistible 2 tracker oddball. On the A-side, Machst Du JetztMusikIs a gorgeoushypnoticgroover. La Fête EP is a collection of 3 remixes of Luc Marianni's "Voyage Vers L'Harmonie". They were made by Crystal (Beats In Space - Nagano), John Shade (Bristol) and Tin Man (Vienna).

These are two alternate versions of two of the more popular tracks from Pale Blue's LP, The Past We Leave Behind. The record was a slow burn, but eventually One Last Thing became the sleeper track. It has been on playlists from the likes of Seth Troxler, Pachanga Boys and John Talabot. It seems to have become one of the more popular closing tracks this year. With that in mind, Mike decided to turn it on its head and turn it in to an opening track... Distance To The Waves was tweaked into an acid floor filler. Simonetti uses multiple 303's chained to add melody at the most unexpected places. We also stuck the original versions on the vinyl as well for extra pleasure.

Straight after his contribution to the splendid Delusions of Grandeur compilation and collaboration with Sebastien Vorhaus aka Soul of Hex' as well as his latest EP's on the Russian Capital Bass' label and "Swedish Brandy" Ponty Mython is back with a full swung EP packed with cosmic deep house tunes.
How To Get Your Life Together And Succeed' sets the pace for the record, bringing together a kaleidoscope of sounds in Ponty Mython's signature style, soul meets dance floor punch. Changes We Go Through' oozes hip shaking appeal, a deep and sleazy bass line leads the charge on this bumping house track. Watch Over Him' slows things down a touch with live funk and jazz licks conjuring images of session musicians jamming in a smokey club, urging you to get down.
On the top of the B-side, we have man of the moment Red Rack'em who delivers a wonderfully Wonky' house remix in his very unique style, casually combining elements from three of the originals. Next up we have Love Is Not A Thing', another body moving sultry deep house offering, dripping with soul, as easy vocals ramble over lazy keys and lively percussion. Finally, easing us to the end of our outing in the sonic stratosphere is Lopp 17', back in the funk realm, with some tropical percussion thrown in and a steady grooving bottom end to keep heads
nodding right to the last moment. All in all one of the most exciting and Musical records we have ever released .. and with 3 tracks per side this is somehow more a mini Album than EP .h 3 tracks per side this is somehow more a mini Album than EP .

Finally we´ve got a new SoulPhiction 12 coming up here on Philpot. And it got all his well known ingredients pushed to the next level! This thing is jazzed up House with a tense but subtle techy edg. "Thanks for purchasing a real copy!"

Ele returns with Ha Noi Nights, a collection of dusty jazz samples and soulful grooves inspired by the distinct tapestry of street culture pulsating through the capital.

The opening track 'Rush' recalls our affection of Groove Chronicles' 90's Garage sound, before Rhythm Sections Contours and saxophonist Callum Connell who turn towards the later hours with 'Night Shift'.

The B side welcomes Repelete and Bini taking centre stage with their infectious soulful summer beauty 'Legislate'.
Finally, Sameed returns to the 'Dusty Jazz' formula with 'Someone Like Me' an infectious blissful sound, built around jazz samples and rhodes solos.

Hard house electroswing, sexy tunes and disco for the finish

We don't have much info to give about Vicram, partly because the artist doesn't want us to communicate the few things we know. But this is his first EP. It's super raw - not necessarily rough. Raw like a piece of sushi, an unpolished unvarnished beautiful piece of wood, raw like those bare drum machines and simple acid lines. Almost naive, like those early 90s IDM-techno record we cherish but with a very different angle. As usual, we liked Vicram because we don't really understand how he makes his music.
