House Vinyl New Releases - News

The last few years has seen Parris make a name for himself across a number of scenes, to the extent he is just as likely to be found spinning records for Butterz as he is putting records out on Berceuse Heroique. Here at Idle Hands we first touched base with Parris many moons ago when he bought copies of the first release on his Soundman Chronicles label into our shop. As it is one of our favourite labels we were intrigued to hear what he would come up with as producer himself. Needless to say we were impressed. Presented here are two tracks that perfectly reflect his sound and our own, A nod to techno here, a weighty bass line there, a love of reverb everywhere and all with a view to being played in dark rooms late at night.

The 12" of 'Burr' and 'Blue' is Idle Hands last release of 2015 and we think it rounds off nicely what has been a great year for the label.

Sandrow M follows up his Prayervan EP from 2013 with his latest effort.

Innocent Music presents their third vinyl only release called Vinyl Only Tools vol.2! This time our label boss Aney F. invites Reelow, Shaf Huse & Duky!

Cahoots Records Volume 2 explores unchartered house frontiers with new and profound tracks from Volta Cab, Ange Siddhar, Jeremy Juno and Mulla. With their sophomore release, Cahoots makes room around the campfire to welcome new artists who have traveled from distant sonic realms bringing their deluxe-deep and hard-hitting beats.

Kicking off the Cahoots exploration is Ukrainian talent Volta Cab, as he leads the pack into the wild with the winsome sounds of 'Odessa.' On his previous releases for Hypercolour, Morris Audio, Toy Tonics, and What's In The Box, Volta Cab has exposed his rare ability to paint vivid portraits of pure sonic bliss. Odessa's uplifting pads glide effortlessly and radiate like a summer sunset over its pleasant, percussive ensemble. Odessa warmly greets listeners to Volume 2 before sending them packing for higher ground.

Next stop down the path, Parisian based Ange Siddhar gives dancefloors something to be grateful for with 'Let Us Pray'. A combination of funky classic rhythms and whimsical melodies, Let Us Pray offers a dynamic affair that will surely lift spirits on an early Sunday morning. Ange continues to evolve his sound, combining progressive concepts with tech house mastery. As a sound engineer in one of the city's best studios, Ange's works have appeared on labels like Bluelephant Records, Pumpz Music, and Laboratory Records.

A bullish side B kick starts with 'Deeper' from Dutch maestro Jeremy Juno. A force to reckoned with, Juno continues his onslaught of floor driven tracks and relentless beats for labels such as Taylor Made, Colours Audio and Big Flu. Deeper's quick build-ups and drop-outs maintain the high tension and energy flow from beginning to end. Jeremy's established skills in the studio and DJ booth have helped him gain a strong foothold in his hometown of Arnhem and on the larger Dutch club and festival circuit.

Another powerful Dutch artist, Mulla, closes out Volume 2 with 'Smack Back', a raw and stripped back basement anthem. Inspired by classic house and techno, Mulla's clattering snares and cymbals pack a punch as Smack Back's sub-heavy bassline gives warmth and life to the groove. Mulla has emerged as an integral factor in the current underground house scene in Amsterdam by piloting the Natives and Kreativ nights at clubs including Studio 80 and Chicago Social Club. Mulla is also co-founder of the Nomads Festival and helps run Kreativ Amsterdam, a prominent booking and creative production agency.

After the labels last digital installments featuring artists like Urulu, Purple Velvet and ELEF, Kolorit
Records continues its journey into deepness and the origins of house. Catalogue #017 features two
well known heads, Jorge Takei and Thomas Sonora, who released on the likes of Suruba,
Nurvous, Rebirth and Klasse Recordings, but also introduces a new face to the labelfamily:
Sello (Moodmusic, WaziWazi, NeoVinyl).
For the A-Side, Jorge Takei and Sello team up and deliver a deep slow-jam, driven by warm, raw
drumwork and slowly builds into a soulish, 90s vibed vocal roller, that will drown you in a hot-tape-
salad. Going further more onto the dancefloor after 2am, Thomas Sonora's B-Side "Be Free",
comes with a straight groove aimed directly at the golden era of the loop. Constantly building, the
jam finds its relief when finally you're left with the full wonderful groove.
We see it as a new beginning, joining forces into a strong labelfamily, a sound rooted in funk and
classical house jams - we hope you dig it as much as we do.
Early support comes from friends of the family: Genius Of Time, Till Von Sein, Reznik, El_Txef_A,
Trickski, T.Williams, Sebastien Vorhaus, Round Table Knights, Hisham Zahran, GERD and Arttu.

Belgian producer Van Czar delivers here a strong Track called "This Van Dance".

The package is rounded up with great remixes by Orlando Voorn and Melodymann.

'TT/Dok' is Kenton Slash Demon's third EP on Future Classic, and is set for release 04 March 2016. The two track EP is set to hold down the same amount of anticipation and support of precious offerings of the Danish duo. This release affirms again the strength of Kenton Slash Demon's organic and futuristic sound, and their obvious skills take their productions further than the typical frame and dramaturgy of a club track. They want to create soundtracks for clubs as well as music that you can listen to on your home stereo, thus blurring the space between the public and private experience.

Diynamic's sister label 2DIY4 is ready to unleash its next great release, and this time it is a remix EP that revisits the fine original work of Abby's 'Halo' track. Abby is an experimental, four piece Berlin-based band who had great success with their 'Halo' cut. Now Diynamic regulars Thyladomid and H.O.S.H. both remix it.
The track is included in original form to get things going and is a stirring, deeply moody electronic cut with emotive vocals, lush guitars and floating atmospheres that really sweep you up. It has slowly tumbling beats that move you from one place to another and glistens and glows with rich musicality.
H.O.S.H.'s Boy Mix layers in some frazzled chords, a rising sense of tension and big rubbery drums. The vocals remain in refracted form and nervy, knife edgy synth sounds really make the track sound urgent and compelling - it is sure to rule on dance floors as a result. The Girl Mix is another texture affair with squelch percussion and whirring machines married to lush organic synths and pads. Pitched down vocals lend it a Diynamic feel and once again this epic bit of tech is sure to wander all over the world this late summer. Thyladomid then remixes with a melancholic, low slung style that really sucks you in. Piano chords and long tailed pads wrap round the rubber beats and you surf along, deep in thought. This is a stunning package full of real emotion that is sure to make for some teary moments on the dance floor.

Canadian producer Clarian delivers three melodic house numbers on his new 'Kill For Love EP' on Anjunadeep, supported by Sasha, Guy Gerber, Axel Boman and Lee Burridge.

Previously one half of Footprintz, Clarian has released on on Visionquest, Turbo, Life and Death and Culprit as a solo artist, not to mention his acclaimed collaborations with Guy Gerber and Seth Troxler. When not A&Ring Troxler's Soft Touch imprint, a discography he's inaugurated with this 'If There Light At The End' release, Clarian is a prominent figure in Berlin's nightlife scene when he's not trotting the globe between Paris, Dubai, Montreal, New York and London.

First up 'Kill For Love' kicks off the package with tantalising keys and mournful vocals, wrapped around a surging acid bassline. 'Lucid Dreamers' employs yet more acid licks and ebbing chords, whilst a spoken word sample floats softly above elegant rising melodies. 'I Was Born In Outer Space' concludes the EP with a trippy journey through otherworldly pads, undulating bassline and as a heady vox sings blissfully throughout.

groovy & vibey Business

As a product of Melbourne's effervescent music scene, Fantastic Man, AKA Mic Newman returns in 2015 with a four-track EP 'El Tropo' on his own Fine Choice label.

Following in the vein of his previous release 'Animal Language'; which saw extensive plays from Vakula, Axel Boman, Young Marco and Tornado Wallace. This release sees Fantastic Man dive deeper into the rabbit-hole, featuring more tropical percussions, subterranean basslines and artificial flutes than ever before. From the lead track 'Snake Charmer' with it's whacked out rhythms, to the erratic modulations of 'Donkey Punch' through to the stripped back ambiance of 'El Tropo' and 'Birds Of Paradise' each track illustrates Newman's diverse tastes and seamless ability to craft wonderfully exotic beats that keep you locked from start to finish.

Remixes of two classic Fatboy Slim tunes from Kalyde, Noir and August
Five. Includes the original Star 69, re-cut for 12' DJ vinyl

Produced by Steve Poindexter and coming from the depths of Chicago's 1991 underground comes "Sex Chants", a killer 6 track EP of soulful, sleazed out box jams on Poindexter's tiny Chicago Bad Boys Records imprint. An extremely varied EP, "Sex Chants" has it all; vocal cuts, oddball Chi-town jackers, soulful, deep sounds and straight up raw dance-floor cuts, all steeped in that lo-fi, bedroom like quality that we've all come to appreciate.

"Sex Chants" is a very sought after release and this is the first time the EP has been re-issued and re-mastered. This re-release has been done in conjunction with Chicago Bad Boys and features the original 1991 label artwork. A true underground deep house gem, overlooked and now made available again.

Jozef K & Winter Son are a formidable force. 'Smiling Through Wide Eyes' on Skint Records emphasizes their capabilities. Remix duty has been handed to Swedish duo Mr Tophat & Art Alfie and Berlin based Argy.

The third Jungle Wonz release on Trax, again with Harry Dennis' gorgeous vocals.A real bench mark in the house sound of Chicago from Marshall Jefferson.

Psychemagik are back with a bugged out mix of super psyched out cosmic disco, space funk, holy grails and freaked out club monsters! After the phenomenal success of Magik Cyrkles & Magik Sunrise compilations, they deliver another nugget packed selection of true rarities and sought after gems, this mix comes with beautiful artwork, one mixed and one dj friendly unmixed cd for your listening and dancefloor pleasure. No track id's, just grab it!!

Canada based trio Return Of The Jaded are made up of Hungarian Zoltan Koltes, Briton Simon Sheppard and Canadian Chris Girard. Last year saw their debut release 'Lolita' through none other than Pleasurekraft's imprint Kraftek, a propitious launch to their swelling careers. Now, the house stalwarts join the Kittball roster by dropping three killer original cuts

'What's It Gonna Take' is a serious groover that hits hard courtesy of its cavernous kicks and commanding bass. Sharp snares and a monstrous bassline are the core element of 'The Afterparty', whilst an infectious vocal chanting 'I don't wanna stop right now' identifies with its after hours vibes. Meanwhile '2 to the 3' is a bouncy dancefloor weapon complete with a heady hook and blissful breakdowns that ties up the release in expert fashion.

After his debut album 'Wonderlust Bug' gained support from the likes of Sasha, Timo Maas, Laurent Garnier and more in 2009, Garcia saw his 'Lady Luck' release on Yoshitoshi feature in the Beatport Tech House Top 10 for over five months. Fast forward five years and his catalogue has witnessed the addition of releases on Noir, Exploited, OFF and Southern Fried, whilst collaborations alongside iconic duo X-Press 2 and appearances at Bestival and South West Four have worked their way into the schedule.
The original cut from Garcia and Wagstaff fuses an impressive combination of haunting yet melodic keys layered over an ever-evolving lively bassline, leading to the production flourishing into a heavy hitting house number.
Next up, Copy Paste Soul provides an understated and impressive stripped back alternative to the original, adding a chord-focused hook to unruffled transitions throughout to provide a welcome switch up. Fast rising Jacky (UK) steps up last to deliver an energy driven remix, maintaining the melodic line whilst providing thundering kicks, shuffling claps and an infectious groove from the get go to round off proceedings.

180g. Vinyl only.

Flugel glad to present you U-more's 2 miles EP incl. Faster remix.

A side: Minimalistic and funk jazzy especially on the Miles Davis inspired track 2 Miles. The track titled Harney Peak, on the other hand, retraces the old school 90's road with hints of surrealism.

B side: get you crazy with Lilliput track gives one the feeling of entering a fairy tail, following a path of fairies and ogres. Not a trip taken by Gulliver, but you'll know where you are once you put the needle down. Faster's remix on 2 Miles track is rampant, with a pump down, that not allow to stop moving your ass.

Artworks by Rustam Sardalov.

Henry Street (named after Brooklyn homeboy Johnny's neighbourhood) always had a 'NewYork' vibe, and even when drawing its producers from further afield, the label encapsulated the city's melting-pot of talent and raw, bristling energy... energy captured here, and exploding off these remasteredt racks like it's 1999 all over again!So... dust off those dancing shoes, and get ready to feel the heat, it's one more time for the Henry Street Hustle!

After three years in the making and a lifetime of mutual respect, we are proud to welcome Todd Terry to join our list of legendary House Masters, with an album covering the sublime highlights from his incredible back catalogue.

With this anthology, Todd takes his rightful place amongst the likes of Masters At Work, Frankie Knuckles, Dennis Ferrer, Bob Sinclar and Heller & Farley on the House Masters roster: artists who represent house music at its innovative, pioneering best.

Included on his House Masters album are early underground tracks such as 'A Day In The Life', 'Weekend' and 'Can You Party', which at the time captured people's imagination and are now considered genre-defining classics. Global crossover anthems 'Keep On Jumpin' and 'Something Goin' On' were essential additions to the album; both tracks were pivotal moments in Todd's career and the wider house music landscape. Meanwhile Terry was skilfully balancing commercial remix work (such as the iconic Everything But The Girl's 'Missing', the first track on this compilation) with pure artistic projects and developing the generally deeper house momentum of his labels In House and Freeze. True to his ethos for always keeping things fresh and looking for the next new sound, Todd didn't want to saturate the album with only classic records; he has included more recent tracks such as 'You Make Me Happy', 'Ready To Go' and 'Drop That'.

Taking in his various collaborations, aliases and side projects, House Masters - Todd Terry has been curated to demonstrate every intriguing facet of his musical explorations. Adored by clubbers and revered by his fellow artists, the album documents how Todd Terry has built his longstanding reputation on surprising and delighting his listeners. The man himself says 'The album reflects the records the kids ask to hear when I DJ, some of the more familiar productions and hits alongside my newer productions. I think this is a totally relevant collection.'

YOKTO are back on Compost Black with another distinctive record, raw and dusky, somewhere between romantic house and techno.

P.D.D are proud to welcome Dark Matters a new record label and visual project created by Amirali. As an unknown songwriter and producer, Amirali first shot to prominence with his inaugural release on Crosstown Rebels.

He has since toured the globe promoting his particular concoction of avant-garde electronica, techno and house. An extension of his broad musical palette, the label will be running in conjunction with a series of curated parties beginning in October in London.

The Dark Matters record label is a cohesive experience where 'weird' and unusual is encouraged, aiming to push people to the edge of their comfort zone and keep them there. Aiming to stand out from the myriad of similar events and releases that happen every week in London and the rest of Europe.

By the very definition of the term Dark Matters, the label aims to initiate a response from the listeners and partygoers. Dark Matters has a connection to galaxies, the mysteries of the universe, the beginning of a concept bigger than we can imagine.

The events will centre around a combination of sound and visuals that express the dark and psychedelic concept behind the label. The crowd will be enveloped by installations, each event will be a collaboration between an art collective and or arts students, keeping the ideas and approach at the forefront of London's creative scene.

With the aim of releasing original material from live acts and Amirali's own productions, the scope of Dark Matters is broad, ranging from techno to abstract pop and ambient. The versatility and open-minded creativity will be mirrored in the events and the artwork for the records themselves.
Dark Matters kicks off with an EP from label boss Amirali dropping in July. The EP features a re-work from future label mate Aboutface and a remix from Prins Thomas.
The melodic complexities and hypnotic vocals in Amirali's original mix are re-worked, securing this EP as a confident and stunning debut.

Classic Andres and Mike Grant tracks on Moods & Grooves.

Our fresh outing 'For Kid Caprice' EP sees another new face join the Dirt Crew/ SPIEL family. Our latest artist discovery is BAL 5000 out of Budapest, Hungary. Coming from a diverse genre background, his sound ranges from disco to techno, tastefully touched with indie and Balearic. The title track, 'For Kid Caprice' heralds a soulful bass line, easy house stabs, light hearted keys, gently swung percussion and sparkling disco licks, this one's a soundtrack for traversing the cosmos or blissfully swaying on a dance floor. 'Dub Version' steps the energy up a notch. With its growling lead and steady lathered groove this one is wide and warm. On the B-side, 'Farewell My Lovely' is melancholic yet uplifting, eerie synths sing over positive key hits and its lithe melodic lines playfully interact with the rolling bass giving this one a live synth-pop feel. 'Wake Up! Its Monday!' is bouncing and joyous with a chunky bass at it's core. A queasy lead wraps around the central ideas while rising arpeggios elevate the mood. Finally, as digital only track, 'Cop' is a pumping Italo influenced house jam brightened with classic disco elements. Boasting a self assured bass and gritty rumbling analogue synths, this one is right at home under the lights.

One of the prolific singer's most well-known creations, ‚Pearls' is given a deluxe makeover by German dance floor mainstay Timo Jahns, whose moody, melancholy personal sound fits perfectly with the sultry vocals on one of the crooner's most moving songs.

Phillip Lauer makes his third appearance on Beats in Space Records, this time alongside Boss In Space and burgeoning producer Tim Sweeney as T & P.
On Shoot The Freak, the dynamic duo deliver a groove-infused three tracker for your inner and outer freak. After sharing a gig at Robert Johnson, the intimate German club near Frankfurt known for its excellent sound system and minimalist flair, the pair shared a few, freaky days at Hotel Lauer (Phillip’s residence and recording studio in the bucolic German countryside) writing and tracking the cuts of Shoot The Freak. Having worked together in other capacities, a chance to creatively collaborate unleashed unhinged music from deep within the duo's collective soul. Conceptualized with New York City's historic amusement park and freak scene in mind, title track 'Shoot the Freak' adds an acidic 303 line alongside a hypnotic vocal sample, the track slowly ascending like a roller coaster before rocketing even deeper into space. The b-side struts its stuff with 'Luna Park' a smooth-burning, string-laden house burner.
'Garden of Tears' completes the EP, its synthetic voices and slow, emotive bass line chugging and churning into the glorious sunset along Coney Island's beachfront.
Each 12" on Beats in Space Records features original artwork in considerate and serial form. For Shoot The Freak, New York artist Peter Sutherland splits day and night through vertically collaged cosmic blinds. The 12" packaging constructed by Joanne features a removable vinyl BIS logo cling. Physical purchase includes a free, high-quality, multi-format download.

This one has been in the making for a loooong time and we do believe you will agree it was worth the wait. TJ Kong has been releasing some serious vocal house masterpieces over the past year on Compost and other labels of fame, so it was only a matter of time before they ended up on WPH.
When it comes to vocals few do it better than Gustaph, the Belgian lead vocalist of Hercules & Love Affair and a close friend of the WPH family. Inside story: Gustaph provided non-credited (but paid) backing vocals for FCL's 'It's You' stormer. With TJ Kong Gustaph takes up the role of both lyrics writer and vocalist and does so to devastating effect in absolute perfect unison with the track provided by TJ Kong & Modular K. It's classic but very very fresh.

On the flipside TJ Kong & Modular K team up with French wonderboy Art of Tones aka Llorca for a trip into house music stabs & strings bliss. If the dream is always the same, we do hope this is the one you are re-dreaming. WPH TEN-3, niceness to the max!

From Chicago, VALIS are considered the truly kings of the EBM funky' sound. This record presents 4 of their most acclaimed tracks and it's even more special because the band has been dissolved due to internal discrepancies of the members and is practically sure that this release will be their second and last vinyl. The fresh mix of EBM, electro and funk and Jeremiah Meece's screams on top it will explode any dancefloor on earth, a truly classic for the very near future!. All tracks have been analogically remastered specially for this vinyl version. Only 200 copies are available for distribution. Including Cold Hands', The Cant', Cold World Melts (Valis Remix)' and Black Carbon.

Lush and beautiful hip-hop-flavoured downtempo from classically trained LA-based producer Dot aka Kate Ellwanger.

Two deep minimal acid tweakers with guest vocals by Santana from the French group Claap! It's rare to hear an acid track with vocals these days. There's also a Claap! remix thrown on for good measure, and they take the song in a totally different direction.

Vocals by Darian Crouse. Published by Atal Music. Remix and Additional Production by Chez Damier.
