To celebrate two decades of Skylax Records and a long musical partnership, DJ Sprinkles and Hardrock Striker team up as S.H.E. (SKYLAX HOUSE EXPLOSION) to present the first of three exclusive vinyl releases accompanying the Mix CD for the 20 Years Compilation. All three EPs feature previously unreleased music personally curated by DJ Sprinkles and Hardrock Striker. Under The Garage presents all new music from Move D, Jason Grove & Merwyn Sanders, An Expresso and Signal St as a referential homage to the 80s club of New York City; a space that commercially paved the way for the evolution of dance music (music of the 'house') as well as spaces around which queer communities could feel safe - all to the sounds of DJs like Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles. Jason Grove is a long-time collaborator with Skylax, along with Signal St who has released on its sub label - Wax Classic - as Garage Shelter, but for Move D, it is his first outing on the imprint. Move D is one of the few veteran deep house DJs still touring consistently having started out in the early nineties. Of course he is synonymous with more than just house music, but when he operates within the boundaries of the genre, the German producer's sound allies closely with both the Skylax imprint and the DJ Sprinkles record bag; the latter, known to feature many of his tracks including Your Personal Healer making David Moufang's presence on the compilation all the more relevant. Sharing the A side with Move D and collaborating with Jason Grove is the highly adept Merwyn Sanders from Chicago who, most recently, reissued the in-demand 2000 (And We're Still Here) EP featuring the deep house ear worm, Mimi Likes To Dance. Grove's slamming-but-smooth style is ever-present as is Merwyn's taste for sleek production hooks, which can be found throughout Deep in Your Heart. Out of Anaheim in California, An Expresso was signed 5 years ago to Skylax but has already cut his teeth on a few high profile records in house as well as garage and hip hop. His aptly named cut on the compilation, Club Called The Garage opens the mix by DJ Sprinkles, its ghostly reverberated vocal samples are ominously placed as if coming from a place of remembrance (as distinct from nostalgia); moving and dark, especially from a producer so young. The processes of the post-industrial consumer society in which you most likely reside have made the remembrance of small, queer spaces as they pertain to the origin of once-hyper specific genres virtually impossible. We are sold a narrative that relates less to the origins of such marginalised communities and more to what major distributors have decided will sell. It is only through the work of labels like Skylax Records and DJ Sprinkles' Comatonse Recordings that the origins of house music find their way into the record bags of contemporary DJs. Skylax has a long relationship with DJ Sprinkles and since its early days of Parisonic, has always maintained: Stay Underground, It Pays! Earthboogie's debut album, Human Call, rightly earned praise on its release earlier in the year, with listeners responding positively to its sticky and humid dancefoor fusions of African and South American rhythms, chunky dub disco, retro-futurist house,
spacey analogue electronics and sun-kissed Balearica. Hot on the heels of that release, Leng Records has sourced new remixes of two album highlights - 'High Minded Man' and 'Silken Moon' - from Running Back label boss Gerd Janson and synthesizer-wielding Balearic boogie stalwart Pete Herbert.
It's Janson who steps up frst, offering up two total overhauls of 'High Minded Man' that re-cast the undulating, Afro-fred original as a dreamy, drum machine-driven chunks of vintage deep house goodness. Where Earthboogie's album version bobbed
and weaved around horns and live bass, Janson's Deep House Mix places the duo's original chanted vocals above a bouncy, polyrhythmic rhythm track, Larry Heard style chords, Kwaito-esque electronic bleeps and a smooth, soul-stroking bassline. Janson's
Deep House Dub, which strips out the vocal for a more sparse and ethereal listening experience, is also included on the EP.
The EP's other remix comes from sometime Reverso 68 member Pete Herbert, who gets his mitts on previous single 'Silken Moon'. While he retains some key elements from Earthboogie's original - specifcally the vocals, Afro guitars and house stabs - he
naturally adds a little of his own rubbery electronic disco favour via spacey synthesizer fourishes and a massive electronic bassline that brilliantly tracks the rising and falling
movement of the main melody. It has the feel of a terrace anthem in the making.

Live Ones returns with Lorca after a six-year hiatus. Having released his debut record LIVE001 'Moments' we've teamed up again to relaunch as a home for the edits, refixes and sample heavy music produced by friends and family that we love so much.

After a brief break from production duties, Lorca moves away from the eclectic, melodic style he's been known for and returns with a new sound and aesthetic. The 'Tribute to Eddie' EP firmly nods at Detroit, New York and Chicago House styles and is dotted with a wide array of influences and soulful sampling throughout.

Having previously released EPs and singles with Naked Naked, Dummy Records, 2020 and the like, Lorca's ear for melody has earned him fans from across the board with his music being supported by a diverse array of DJ's from Ben UFO to Bonobo to Pete Tong. We're proud to be back releasing this diverse producer's music.

On the A side there's 'Antilope', a sleazy hybrid between early nordic neo-disco and house. With a vivid selection of rhythmic arps, big filtered pads and a bottom heavy bassline, this track is opted for reckless dancefloor action.On 'Mister E', LeSale channels elektro, synth pop and wave vibes from the late 80s. While always balancing between ethereal melodies and delicate synthetic percussion, 'Mister E' is also a late night contender with its ballsy synth bass and punchy drumming. The 'Hollow Mix' focuses on the raw essence of 'Mister E', bringing out the digital bell theme and the bassline even more, underlaid by a more reduced rhythm section. SIDE B:
The return of time travelling disco afficionados Space Echo is immanent, and their 3rd contribution to the Luv Shack catalogue is a very special one indeed. The three tracks on the "Rare Function EP" are boasting with dusty 70s blues magic!
The title track "Rare Function" sees Space Echo take a moody excursion into southern funk. With an insanely addictive rhodes hook, shimmering strings and a soothing vocal line that hits right in the guts, this piece is well suited to liven up any house set.
The final track is called "Rainbow Power" and its probably the most uncanny Space Echo track to date. Its a full on party rendition of a lesser known early 70s funk piece that just blasts off after being introduced to a fat acid line! The EP is a testament to the musical development of the Space Echo project and we're excited to hear what the future holds.

Kevin Murning is a musician, producer and DJ from Cape Town, South Africa. He describes his music as fake jazz, probably because he dropped out of jazz school. At 23 years old, Kevin's music is youthful yet precise and his debut EP offers an intriguing cross-section into his varied musical experience to date. The release comes out via Cape Town based imprint, Quit Safari, home to some of SA's most exciting producers.

Kevin's debut comes in the form of a 5-track EP called Mode's Arp. Comprised of 3 originals and 2 remixes, the release serves as a dual functional one with tracks for home and club use. Taking 2 years to fully complete, Mode's Arp is a wonderfully considered body of work and speaks volumes about Kevin's talent and his ability to create music that is beautiful and banging. Both Kevin and Quit Safari label head, Zanasi Wifi, are on remix duty for the EP, taking the originals and recontextualising them into high octane percussive workouts.

For it's 14th release, Politics Of Dancing Records welcomes one of England most valued deep house producers, Nail, who has done releases for Classic, DIY, Robsoul or Mosaic, and Berlin's much sought after duo, Cab Drivers on the remix duty. The «AAsterales EPA» is a strong deep house number with two cuts, Dub Me 2 and U Gotta Be There, and a remix of Dub Me 2 by Cab Drivers.On the A side, Dub Me 2 is an effective loopy teched-out killer, filled with funk and heady vocals. A groovy peak time winner. U Gotta Be There is a solid deep house track, with intoxicating stabs and tremendous rhythms. On the B side, Cab Drivers serve us a refined and powerful remix. A mighty interpretation for an essential release.

OL is coming back to GOST with his first double LP - a one hour masterpiece that sums up his research of the Soviet sound heritage. The album titled 'Height Difference' fluctuates through different genres and tempos reflecting the ups and downs of daily life. This refined and sincere work showcases the talent and unique sound of a prolific Russian producer.

On "RESPECT YOURSELF" RON TRENT keeps things deep with fuzzy vocal samples and sonic washes that make you just feel good. The chant and conga rhythms pop out of the mix and keep things moving. Originally released as part of Eskimo Recordings acclaimed compilation 'The Red Collection', Dutch duo SHMLSS's 'Train Ride to the Middle East' has proven to be a perennial favourite with openminded DJs attracted to its heady psychedelic brew of twisted disco and Middle Eastern sounds. Now to kickstart 2018 Eskimo are releasing the track on vinyl for the first time, complete with a brand new remix from Marvin & Guy.

For the second Vinyl release, we welcome on board Silat Beksi - that drops 2 amazing original tracks that includes a collaboration track with Corsu. On the remix duties we welcome - Nima Gorji who brings his exceptional remix into this massive Ep named Rumble

After two years of inviting our favourite artists from around the world to grace the decks at our humble party in Montreal, we've decided to take the next step and begin sharing all the incredible music being made by our friends both local and abroad.
00AM001 is the first in a series of Various Artists 12"s in which we'll aim to capture the spirit of the 00:AM dance floor with music we've received and road tested across our beloved city's bars, clubs, & half cocked after parties.
The first release brings together local neighbourhood legends and roommates Priori and Adam Feingold alongside our good Australian buddy Mike Midnight and LA's AshTreJinkins.
Expect house from the melancholy to the roughed up variety, live drums & breaks, and some beautiful dubby atmospherics.
All this to say, there's no set rules here, just good music from good friends, and hopefully a little something for everyone inside :)

Edwards 2nd album "Into a better Future" accompanies you for hours, makes you forget that daily grind. And once in a while you'll hear the sound of sunrise and sunset racing each other in a tight rhythm.

Continuing in the same fashion the Tupiar Records Wax Collection we welcome Florian Meffert on our fourth vinyl masterpiece - Decent EP. A driven individual in his passion for experimental music, with roots in Frankfurt(DE), that matchless sound and impeccable techniques as a producer are serving as an example for precise and inspirational music. One of those artists that disconnect from the real world escaping into a new world while the creative flow takes over, outgrowing himself at full speed with releases on labels like Sakadat, Mood24, Capodopere, Ensis Black, Inwave to name a few. He worked with Vicentiulian, Arapu, Suolo, Yaroslav Lenzyak, Kaitaro and many more who support his style, now expressing him self with industrial synths & breaks in Decent (A1), taking us on a journey of soundwaves all the way to his darkest corners of imagination, filled with liquid textures & ambiental backgrounds of minimalistic depth. Yet we are driven into nebulous passages through intriguing bells and whistles echoing from the misty sounds of Upset and Natshe original mixes of the upcoming 2PR deejay.
On the B side we find pleasure in the analog remix carved beautifully by experimented Alan Castro from Argentina, spotted on labels like Bodyparts & Arupa Records. Putting his DNA into Decent, Alan exceeds continuous experimentation charged with sensibility and passion for his work, letting all the melodies and kick join together to make us dance and travel through sounds with all its power, resulting this exquisite happy end to this 12 inch release mastered by Maurice Giovannini.
To top it of in our artistic approach, we bring you this unique 100% romanian cover, "Necromæns" painted with acrylics on canvas by talented Anita Frâncu. Many untold stories lay hidden under the strokes of the young painter, besides the aphotic site of this artwork that matches perfectly the overall design concept of Mihai Dafinoiu - responsible for the image of Tupiar Records & Tupiar Limited Record Labels.

2018 Reissue

This October will see the release of Jesper Ryom's 'Aviator' EP on La Fleur's Power Plant Records, backed with a remix from the label boss herself. Budding producer Jesper Ryom has gradually become a well-respected name in electronic music since making his debut on Power Plant Records with 'Nature Boy' in 2011. Since making his debut Jesper has relocated to Berlin to embrace the thriving music scene the city has to offer, and has gone on to release with German imprint Freude Am Tanzen, as well as recently supporting Marek Hemmann on his latest album tour, which stands as testament to his striking skills as a producer and live act. Here we see Jesper Ryom make a return to Power Plant Records with the long awaited 'Aviator' EP, again showcasing his signature melodic, groovy and heartfelt style. On the latter half of the release we a remix that comes from label-head La Fleur, who reshapes 'Aviator' with her signature upfront style, opting for a more stripped-back feel with her interpretation La Fleur crafts a dreamy reshape fuelled by chiming melodies, while the rugged rhythms and infectious sub tones generate a more dance floor focused feel.

Public Release adds another entry to its 2018 chapter with a four-track EP that engineers the intersection of gentle warm-up house of the Balearic genus and frosty chill-out. The 12-inch is the latest from Dylan Khotin-Foote, who goes by the mononym Khotin, a producer and DJ firmly planted at the epicenter of Vancouver's lively, colorful dance music scene.

The record begins with 'Aloe Drink,' a tune, which, like the beverage it's named after, is both specifically familiar and vaguely mysterious; it begets questions of origin despite its appearance of recognizability. Built around an acoustic, earthy drum pattern, it kicks off feeling fast-paced, propulsive, but this proves illusory when aqueous pads push into the frame and lend the piece a calm stillness.

Force of Nature (DJ Kent and KZA), making a rare appearance as remixers, preserves the original's intent and architecture while managing to find a way to subtly lift it in energy and register; extra drums and an augmenting synth lick ease it into a territory of dance floor functionality. A version as rousing and bumpin' as it is intimate and tender.

On the other side is 'Friend' and 'Strange Plant,' a harmonious pair that reflects the A-side's vibe as it refracts it into a spectrum of new hues and spaces. 'Friend' is a kaleidoscopic trip through time-warping trance, and 'Strange Plant' a sharper, punchier song that takes keyed-up rave chords and gives them some heart, some soul, by removing all the artificial drama they're normally consumed by.
A cleverly crafted and sincere, sweet record that telegraphs a wink of irony as it carries you through a vortex of technicolor fractals and flickering embers.

For their first artist EP, Super Tuff revs up four tracks of high-octane house music from Marcel Lune. Fresh off of an impressive LP for Local Talk, the UK up-and-comer again proves a knack for effective and subtle productions. The A side sets the mood with "Moon Sequence," a lush tune that builds to a cinematic climax. He settles into his groove with "You Can Do It!" a four-to-the-floor piano jam sprinkled with wonky synthesizers. On the B-side, Lune finds himself unhinged on the open road with "Unknownz" offering up a live drum groove drenched in bright synth stabs and triumphant string melodies. Finishing the B-side, "Sun" is all shuffled claps and peppy synthesizers that evoke the warm feeling of a sunrise after a long night out.

A2 is from the Japanese DJ duo Force of Nature. Both are fitting to remix the title 'Best of Friends' since we feel they are close to us.

Bianca Chandon presents & Co.

& Co. started out as a small group of friends who surfed and skateboarded together. As they hung out in Venice and shared their interests and ideas about music, sounds started to take shape. What started off with no intentions of being anything serious began to develop, inspiring music composer Alberto Bof, music advisor Paul T. and music coordinator Alex Olson to think about avenues of release.

Inspired by a Seigen Ono record put out for Comme Des Garcons in 1988 Olson got the idea to release the trio's project under his brand Bianca Chandon. This limited 12” has embodied the spirit of the creators and the motivation of the brand to become Bianca's first record release.

Heady, astute, deep techno and ambient from Blue Veil, a new musical project from Danny Clancy. Blue Veil's debut EP reveals gorgeously textured techno on tracks like 'wherethetimegoes' and 'Citizen Score', as well as crafting some tender ambient passages on cuts like 'Night Czar' and 'A Kind Of Adventure'.
The EP will be released on Dichotomy Records, a new imprint, dedicated to refined electronic music. The label's ambition is to allow artists to explore dichotomies through their work, as they span sonic landscapes from pure ambient to techno, and other abstract dance sounds in-between. There will be a strong attention to the visual presentation of the label, with all artwork and photography also created by label boss Danny Clancy.
With the next release lined up from Ahu, and more to follow from there, the agenda for Dichotomy Records looks hugely promising indeed.

Here you can get as close to a particularly energetic Quasar as no man has ever been before - during an adventurous space flight with Felix Eul and a bunch of other well-travelled sound cosmonauts. This voyage takes you to the final frontiers and beyond where you might even encounter strange aliens like the Pianoctopus, known to sneak its tentacles into the ears of unsuspecting astronauts and to tickle their skullcaps from the inside. By the way, during our flight we might experience turbulences which you will experience as sudden, adrenaline-loaded outbursts of euphoria. They are caused by transdimensional discharges along the wings of our spaceship, a phenomenon known as Interplay.

Norwegian duo Ost & Kjex make a welcome return to Crosstown Rebels. Their Private Dancer EP is a masterclass in producing dance-floor ready rhythms. They welcome fellow Norwegian Whalesharkattacks to the mix to provide her dark yet dreamy vocals.

'We had a fascination with Tina's Private Dancer since first being exposed to it by Pat Sharp on Sky Trax in the 80's. Whalesharkattacks personifies everything that's cool about the 80's, so when we met her we knew we had to cut a version' Ost & Kjex

Private Dancer is as dark as it is melodic, with eerie drum pads and a medley of dreamt synths. Norwegian vocalist Whalesharkattacks, whose music has been described as 808 goth, lends a distorted vocal. On Nightingale a burdenging bass adds a sense of urgency interlaced with vocals reminiscent of the 80s era. Cosmic synths float side by side samples of beautiful bird song. A titillating work of art with a mesmerising beat.

Another critical sampling of Vancouver's evergreen dance music community. The A-side unearths two Canadian classics-in-waiting from Neo Image, with some dreamily broken garage and sparkling, heady ambience. into house, techno, disco, funk, hip-hop and soul, Tell's music incorporates many
elements from his musical past. His journey began playing drums and piano in bands as
a teenager, which manifests itself in the raw, live sound he strives for in his
productions.
